Chapter Seven: Percy Jackson's Journey

In the sprawling cityscape of New York, another tale was unfolding, a tale that would soon intertwine with Deno's own. Percy Jackson, a 16-year-old with dyslexia and ADHD, had always felt out of place in the mortal world.

His life was a whirlwind of misunderstandings and misadventures, all culminating in a fateful school trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

On the bus ride to the museum, Percy sat next to his best friend, Grover Underwood. Grover was quirky, with an unkempt beard and a tendency to eat tin cans, but he was loyal and always had Percy's back.

Percy's mind wandered as their Latin teacher, Mr. Brunner, droned on about ancient Greek artifacts.Arriving at the museum, Percy couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. As they toured the exhibits, his unease grew.

It was during this trip that the unexpected happened. Their substitute English teacher, Mrs. Dodds, transformed into a terrifying creature known as a Fury.

Her eyes blazed with an unholy light as she cornered Percy, demanding something called the lightning bolt.Panic surged through Percy, but before he could be harmed, Grover and Mr. Brunner intervened.

Mr. Brunner tossed Percy a pen, which magically transformed into a celestial bronze sword named Riptide. With an instinct he didn't know he possessed, Percy fought off the Fury, who vanished into a cloud of dust.In the aftermath, Mr. Brunner revealed his true identity as Chiron, the wise centaur and trainer of heroes.

Grover, on the other hand, admitted he was a satyr, a half-human, half-goat protector of demigods.

Percy's world had turned upside down, but there was no time to process it. They needed to get Percy and his mother, Sally, to safety. That night, Grover arrived at Percy's apartment, urging them to leave immediately.

Sally, a kind and loving woman, packed their things quickly, and they drove off into the night. As they neared the safety of Camp Half-Blood, a monstrous roar echoed through the trees.

The Minotaur, a fearsome beast with the body of a man and the head of a bull, blocked their path.A fierce battle ensued. Percy fought valiantly, but the Minotaur was relentless. In a devastating blow, the creature seemingly killed Sally, causing her to disappear in a flash of golden light.

Enraged and heartbroken, Percy seized the Minotaur's horn and used it to slay the beast, collapsing from exhaustion afterward.

When Percy awoke three days later, he found himself in a cozy cabin at Camp Half-Blood, the sanctuary for demigods. Grover was by his side, and Percy learned more about his heritage. He was the son of Poseidon, the god of the sea. This revelation explained his affinity for water and his latent powers, such as hydrokinesis and healing.
