-next day or rather night-
Mephiles watched the werewolves tease and laugh at the hoglet they were picking on, they had changed the little games here and there and they took turns having their rest but Sonic never slept he had been awake all day and all night never once did they allow the little fairy rest even though he was completely exhausted and could barely stand though it didn't help any that he was more injured than before.
It just proved how mean those werewolves truly were, they didn't care that they were torturing a kid they only wanted entertainment and it made them wonder if that was how they were, were they really this mean to the poor child? Why hadn't they realized this sooner? The hoglet was a sweet child and didn't disobey, he was accepting of his fate due to being so bullied and the only reason why he stayed and wanted to be drank from was because it was something.. something soothing perhaps? but either way he gave them what they wanted but they did not give him what he wanted that he was too afraid to ask, love the kid was searching for someone to love him but they themselves were truly narrow minded and selfish so much so they didn't give what the hoglet really needed.
Sonic yelped in pain when he was knocked back and holding back any more pained whimpers he got back to his hands and knees his wings sagging in such sorrow though his damaged wing hung the lowest, his body trembling hard from all the stress his small form was taking, slowly he looked over at the hedgehogs and just looking at them tears came to his eyes and he quickly turned away before the jackals picked him up and started a game of catch with him as the ball that curled up into a spiky ball to protect himself best he could.
All four hedgehogs watched them do so getting quite disturbed with the sight, they all felt guilty and sorry for the tiny thing that was through all this trauma alone because of them, it was truly heart clenching and it was strange that they felt this way for they never cared about anyone but their own family since they were not supposed to get attached to their victims but that little fairy was starting to really get to them and they now really wanted to save it and they probably could have if those jackals didn't line the area they were in with garlic which they really hated and were repealed by the nasty stuff.
"Meph, Shads is getting weaker." Fleetway whispered, from the other side of the pole Mephiles was tied to as well. "And I-I think it's getting to me too."
"I know.." Mephiles replied, lowering his head as his vision blurred a bit. "It is to me as well."
"Dark is drifting." Shadow told them in a hushed tone. "W-we need to do something."
"I-I'm not going to drink from that child again." Mephiles decided, looking back at Sonic who again fell to the ground. "We have hated down on people who were selfish and arrogant when w-we have been just as bad as them, especially to the fairy who is going through this pain because of us."
The other three considered that and nodded. "Guess we have been selfish, but no more."

Sonic staggered a bit and fell down in complete exhaustion, he was hurt and so very tired where he could barely stand or move at all, suddenly he felt himself being lifted into the air again but he made no move to fight or struggle he just hung there limp as a ragdoll in the werewolves claws.
"You broke it." one accused.
"I did not, he is just falling asleep." the one holding him snapped, shaking the hoglet a bit.
"Eh, bored with it anyway." another waved off.
"I want to make it squirm." The first smiled evilly.
"I'm wondering if it is true that fairies can't touch salt." another said, scratching his ear.
"Ooh.. I have some in the season pouch." The first quickly left and came back a minute later.
"Let's do it." the second said, now holding the fairy by its wings.
Sonic knew what they were planning but he no longer cared, he just looked over at the hedgehogs and with tears in his eyes he let out a small chirp as the jackals put the salt to his skin making pain burst out as the white stuff that burned him to the touch, causing him to cry out.
The four hedgehogs noticed this and desperate to get free they struggled hard against the ropes ignoring their own pain and starvation that was put aside as they snapped the ropes and flew towards the werewolves to get to the hoglets aid, their eyes flaring in rage as their claws lengthened a bit and they attacked knocking the guards out and killing them before going to the next few and the next killing them off one by one till none were left, they then knelt down next to the tiny hoglet to see he was twitching in so much pain from the large burns in different places that were much worse than before and ten times worse than the worst burn in the whole world.
"Sonic." Mephiles addressed the poor hoglet who gasped and hissed in pain. "Sonic, listen to me, we are sorry we should have known better, but we understand now and hope you will forgive us for being so blind."
Sonic let out a pained whimper and squeezed his eyes shut even more trying to calm himself down.
Mephiles sighed and looked over at the others who looked quite faint and pale, shaking his head slightly he picked the hoglet up and licked its burns using the very last bit of his energy to heal the poor thing, once making sure the tiny thing was healed enough he fell forward barely catching himself in time, getting very lightheaded and tired now he laid the fairy back down before falling to the side too weak now to do anything more, the other three soon fell as well pale and very weakened.
Sonic sat up a moment later and noticed the hedgehog's current predicament, they looked so helpless and it was really worrying the young hoglet who jumped to his feet and tried to get to one of them only to have someone pick him up and pull him away.
"Sorry fairy but you cannot help them, you are only meant for destruction and nothing more." Infinite said, tightening his grip on the hoglet's scruff.
"I-I'm not." Sonic shook his head, his fur shifting a bit.
"You are, you are dangerous and shouldn't have existed." Infinite reminded him.
Sonic struggled a bit before he finally stopped and looked up at him. "You know what, I am dangerous.." Sonic decided, his form normal. "I'm cute and harmless to the ones I love and care about." he said before his fur shifted to dark blue and wings changed to reddish dragon wings. "But I'm dangerous to my enemies.. And you liar, are my enemy!" he shrieked, flapping his wings hard where he flew out of the grip.
Sonic then pulled back his fist and using his dark abilities he made storm clouds appear and once he threw his fist down a large silver lightning bolt shot down in response and hit the werewolf straight in the heart making the monster howl in pain as the bolt went right through him as if he were nothing before he fell to the ground dead as a doornail.
Taking a breath Sonic's form shifted back to normal once back on the ground, and remembering the hedgehog's problem Sonic ran over to them and tried to get their attention but they were not really responding, he was running out of time and fast.
Remembering hearing what they needed to survive Sonic went to Darkspine and forced the purple hedgehogs mouth open before placing himself just right for the vampire to bite but Darkspine refused or just couldn't, ears twitching a bit he pressed his arm lightly against the hedgehogs sharpest fang he then pushed harder making the fang puncture his skin and taking in a sharp breath he pulled his arm back causing the wound to lengthen.
Seeing blood start coming out a bit faster then he was hoping so he quickly rubbed his now bloodied arm against Darkspine's tongue till he felt it start to move and lick the hoglets arm of its own accord, once he was sure he backed up a bit and repositioned himself near the fangs that slowly came down and punctured into his tender skin he then felt the vampire suck and suck till Sonic barely had any, he then licked Sonic's wounds closing off the puncture marks.
Sonic gasped and staggered back away from the purple hedgehog who was slowly regaining the strength left, shaking his head slightly Sonic got ready and keeping his dizziness at bay he ran around in circles in a flash of blue where they could not see anything but a bright blue blur that sparked a bit with electricity, getting his heart pumping much faster Sonic quickly got it flowing till he was back to mostly normal, he then ran over to Shadow and did the same process feeling his blood slip away again till he was finally released where he repeated the same running exercise.
He hurried over to Fleetway and got him to do the same, once he was released again he fell to the ground his tiny form weakening even more, not having time for this Sonic quickly got back up and forced himself to go on running in circles at very high speeds till he got blood flowing throughout his body again, needing to hurry he went to Mephiles staggering a few times before fell onto his hands and knees right next to the gray hedgehogs mouth that was clenched shut.
"M-Mephiles.. P-please l-let me save you." Sonic whimpered, ears dropping as he leaned his hands and head up against the pale muzzle. "I want to help you because I-I forgive you and l-love you.. I love you all."
"I-I will not d-drink and make you s-uffer the rest of your life." Mephiles growled slightly.
"But I can't go on alone anymore!" Sonic cried, tears flooding down his cheeks. "I need you father!"
Everyone paused at that and stared at Sonic in shock.
"Come on Meph, he clearly won't stop bugging you so you might as well get it over with." Fleetway waved off.
Sonic nodded slightly before he smiled a little. "N-now or I will force feed you."
Mephiles stared at the hoglet daring him to try it, Sonic looked over at the others who quickly came over and tried to get Mephiles' mouth open, the hoglet pinned his ears and sent a charge of electricity to the gray hedgehogs jaw making it go a bit numb, they then pulled it open and kept it open as Sonic flew over and cut himself on a fang deeper than the last few times causing the blood to flow faster and drip into Mephiles's open mouth making the vampires instincts kick in at the taste of blood that he desperately needed right now, they released their hold on their brother as Sonic flew back a bit before nesting himself as close as possible where Mephiles sank his fangs into him and started sucking till Sonic had a lot less then before where he smiled softly and went completely limp.
Now regaining himself Mephiles sat up and gently put the hoglet on his hand where he quickly got to licking the small frame, once clean and all the wounds were closed Mephiles pulled back a bit and watched closely for any sign of movement in which there was none.
"He saved us.." Shadow murmured, kneeling next to Mephiles. "Just to have a family."
"It's definitely the best little fairy I've ever tasted.. I mean met." Darkspine said, watching the hoglet intently.
"I think he was perfect for this family." Mephiles added, ears dropping as tears came to all their eyes.
"This is too much mushy stuff." Fleetway grumbled, trying to hide his own sorrow.
"He's breathing." Shadow mumbled, getting a closer look. "He's really breathing."
Everyone paused and looked to see the hoglet's chest rising and falling very slightly and Mephiles put a finger on the fairies small form, feeling for a heartbeat. He waited for a minute till there it was beating slow and steady, a smile came to the gray hedgehog's face and he gently stroked the tiny thing.
"He's alive, our hoglet is alive." Mephiles announced, the others cheered in relief.
"Aw Fleet you getting emotional?" Darkspine asked teasingly.
"No, it's just the garlic over there." Fleetway growled slightly, wiping the tears from his eyes.
"You care about the little fairy don't you?" Darkspine prodded. "Admit it, you love the tiny thing."
"No, I could care less about him." Fleetway crossed his arms over his chest. "But.. maybe I like him a little."
"Then it is official, this little hoglet is now our adopted child." Mephiles declared. "Now, and forever more."
