Mei relaxed, hearing the teacher say, it was time to go home wondering what fun her dad had been u0 to as she was getting her backpack from her cubby and saw other parents staring at her, as the other kids were being picked up hearingva motorcycle engine making her happy as she ran out at super speed even though the hall monitor was yelling even though it was the end of the day seeing her dad on thecDark Rider at the pick up line activating her wings flying down instead of taking the steps landing beside the bike making parents gawk stunned at Shadow being Mei's dad only Mei noticed her classmates staring making her feel prickly all over which Shadow noticed.
"It's alright Mei-Mei ignore them. They're jerks and you're awesome let's go home plus mommy sprung a surprise which made daddy feel how you're feeling." Shadow told her as she climbed onto his lap like when she pretended to drive the Dark Rider at home as they left the elementary school feeling the breeze through her fur and quills giggling making Shadow smile for the first time today makingvMei wonder what had made her dad scared, he never got scared which made her feel better when she was scared but after they got home, Mei bounded inside seeing Gerald her grandfather realising he was living with them.
"That's why daddy freaked out, right." Maria heard Mei ask cuddling Lil Shadow her stuffie of her dad which she slept with and took everywhere and to school frowning hearing her mom ask about that.
"It was okay mommy, no big deal." she mumbled stroking a lil Shadow's quills which made her feel better.
"Honey go wash your paws, then you can have a snack." Maria told her seeing her go do that.
"Somebody had a rough first day at school." Shadow said softly to Maria.
"That explaibs why she's in a sad mood like you." Maria said to him seeing him go sit on the couch resting his head on Mei's feeling pillow making Maria grin, as Mei had no idea how much her dad loved it hearing Taylor Swift from his headphones astounding Gerald, the ultimate life form would listen to pop music remembering Maria used to listen to it well his Maria but thinking of the alternate Maria as his seeing Mei smile hearing that music singing along with her dad seeing his head on her feeling pillow.
"Look Lil Shadow daddy's enjoying my feeling pillow." Mei told her stuffie and joining Gerald and her mom.
"There you are, and see you washed your paws. Yes daddy loves your pillow and was hugging it after I dropped you off this morning. I guess he was feeling sad or anxious about your first day." Maria told her making Mei surprised her dad needed comfort this morning making Maria understand.P"First days of school for mommies and daddies are very emotional like they are for cubs so daddy needed comfort." she told Mei as they was having a snack.
That early evening, Mei was having her bath but splashing as she was practicibg her swimming as she knew her dad unlike her uncle, Sonic was a good swimmer as he'd told her that story but had explained so she understood but she knew her dad was good, just shy like her making a shadow chuckle as he was getting hit by water not minding seeingvMaria there amused by Mei's antics. "Okay honey that's enough deep sea divibg for tonight. Let's get out before your quills get pruney." she told her.
"Okay mommy, coming, sorry I splashed." Mei said. "It's okay honey." Maria told her drying her off seeing her put on her pyjamas but brushing her fangs since she had a loose one relieving Maria hearing her yawning knowing a full day of school had wiped her out knowing she wouldn't be flying tonight tucking her into bed as Shadow was telling her a story then kissed her and Lil Shadow seeing her asleep turning on her nightlight before leaving her room.
