Chapter 11

The walk to Cleo's house wasn't far from the harbour. Sora was mesmerized by the big buildings and suburbia. Lewis and the girls wondered if Sora had seen a real city before. Sora explains his story to Lewis on the way. When they reach Cleo's house, Sora meets Cleo's Dad and sister Kim. When Cleo's Dad asks who Sora was before he could answer Cleo quickly explains that he is a friend from school.

Lewis: So you basically fell into the moon pool the same way the girls did?

Sora: Yep! Do you sprout a tail too? Wow! Amazing! Look at that building! This is so awesome!

Sora goes on ahead of the group.

Lewis: Ah no! i'm normal. Ummm is your friend ok?

Rikki: Its like the kid has never seen a sky scraper before!

Cleo: I think he said that he's not from here

Emma: Country boy probably or an islander as i think he mentioned

Cleo: but we live on an Island! Australia is an Island! Doesn't that make us Islanders too?

Lewis: Yep techincally it does Cleo!

Rikki: Sora! Calm down!

Sora calms down and stratches the back on his head.

Sora: Oh i'm sorry! I just never been in a big city before!

Emma: I rest my case! Islander!

Sora: Ha? Oh yeah Islander...so what does a typical teen do around here? Everyone here is human except for you guys right?

Cleo: Well there are lots of things school, hanging out with friends, going to the beach...oh yeah and Emma and i have part time jobs!

Sora: Wow while massively trying to avoid water...?

Rikki: Yep that's pretty much it!

They arrived at Cleo's house the edge on a canal. Sora wondered how the girls avoided the water as they were surrounded by it.

Lewis: So Sora, how old are you? What school do you go to?

Sora: 16 and i go to school (begins to bite his tongue remembering Donald's warnings that played in his head)

Suddenly a man cames flying through the door to Cleo's house.

Man: Oh good Cleo your here! I need to sort out an urgent dilemma on one of the fishing boats and i need you to keep an eye Kim until i come back!

Young Girl: Dad i'm not a little kid anymore!

Man: Kim! You've got that project due tomorrow remember!

Kim: but Dad i'm almost finished!

Cleo: but Dad we were going to study we have a big test this week!

Man: Great! Maybe since you are all here you can all tutor her!

Kim: Tutored by them! Seriously!?

Man: Yes Kim and how are you?

Sora: Oh i'm Sora! Nice to meet you ah...?

Man: Don Sertori!

Sora: Nice to meet you Don Sertori!

Sora goes in for a handshake.

Mr Sertori: Mr Sertori to you!

Sora: Oh Mr Sertori.. sir!

Cleo: Dad, Sora's a friend from school!

Mr Sertori: How come i've never heard of you until now?

Sora: I'm...new!

Lewis: Well now Mr Sertori, you better get going!

Mr Sertori: Ah yes thank you Lewis! Study hard everyone! Esspecially you Kim!

Everyone: Bye!

The all watch Mr Sertori disappear in his car.

Cleo: Let's go in shall we!

Rikki: Move out of the way squirt!

Emma: Kim please move, would you like me to give Elliot a call to help you with your project?

Kim: Yuk no! Bet your not really here to all study!

Kim eventually moves away from the doorway and begins to head of a flight of stairs.

Cleo: Sora as you might have gathered this is my little annoying sister Kim!

Sora: Hey there!

Kim: You look weird!

Cleo: KIM!

Rikki: Scram!

Kim then disappears upstairs while everyone went into the living room. Sora wondered who Elliot was and Emma explained that he was her little brother.

Emma: Do you have any siblings Sora?

Sora: No, only child but i always wanted a sibling

Emma: Maybe its not safe here! Esspecially with your sister around Cleo.

Lewis: Emma might have a point there!

Cleo: Dad shouldn't be too long hopefully! If Kim does listen in or appear again we will explain that we are writing a fantasy story for English.

Rikki: Yeah a real fantasy story particularlly with those creatures around!

Lewis: Creatures? Hang on what creatures?

Sora tells Lewis about the Heartless.

Lewis: What! Little black wiggly creatures called Heartless terrorizing Mako i'd like to see that!

Emma: Sora's telling the truth Lewis!

Rikki: Yeah and i almost got attacked by one! If it weren't for Sora for saving me...

Lewis: Ok so they are only appearing on Mako?

Sora: They seem to be for now!

Lewis: But how do we get rid of them?

Sora: With this!

Sora puts out his hand and summonds his keyblade

Lewis: Ok! Did not just see that?

Rikki: Yep you did!

Kim: What's going on down there!

Everyone: NOTHING!

Suddenly Lewis's phone began to vibrate.

Rikki: Charlotte?

Lewis: Not right now Rikki!

Cleo went quiet and Lewis noticed.

Cleo (Angerly): Lewis if you need to respond to her...

Lewis: No this is far more interesting! Plus i'll see Charlotte at school tomorrow.

Rikki: So it was Charlotte!

Emma: Give it a rest Rikki!

Cleo: Speaking of school are you coming to with us to school tomorrow Sora?

Sora: School? Ahhhhh...

School, the last thing on his mind. He did say in his mind that it was time to live and act like a normal teenager as he was unsure how long he would be strandard in this world for. Now it was really put to the test. Will he join his new friends for school tomorrow or will he manage to come up with an excuse to skip education?
