Stitched Kitsune: Chapter 21

Konoha (night before the second stage of the chunin exam): With Naruto, Haku, Hinata and Roga

Naruto, Hinata, Haku and Roga were all wearing cloaks and waiting in an abandoned training ground hiding in the trees; while Naruto, Haku and Hinata were taking the exam one of Orochimaru's snakes came by with a message.

The message said that one of Orochimaru's operatives will be stopping by in order to provide information for the next stage of the mission.

"This is taking forever" Naruto groaned in a whisper "who are we meeting; and why are they taking so long" he asked Roga who looked at him.

"I don't know and I don't know" Roga said "now sit still and shut up" he whispered and Naruto huffed crossing his arms.

'Jerk' Naruto thought before Haku placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Patience is a virtue Naruto" Haku said and Naruto rolled his eyes "a good ninja might have to lie still for days until the target arrives" she said.

"I agree with Haku" Hinata said "we should be patient" she said.

"Fine, but I'm not going to like it" Naruto said; Haku leaned in and gave Naruto a kiss on the cheek with a smile.

"That's all I ask" Haku said; Hinata seeing this felt a pang in her heart.

Whenever Hinata sees Naruto with Haku, Fu, Karin or Fukui she gets a pang of jealousy; she sees this and doesn't know how to feel about it.

'They are together, I have no right' Hinata thought before poking her fingers 'but Naruto is already dating 4 of them… maybe I should… no I would be imposing' she thought.

Haku seeing the look on Hinata face began to become curious 'I wonder what's going on in her head' Haku thought 'we should talk later; I hope nothing is bothering her' she said.

As all 4 waited in the trees for another few minutes until they spotted a figure appear in the middle of the field 'I guess that's the contact' Roga thought as he looked at his 3 'genin' "stay back just in case" he said and all 3 nodded.

Roga hopped down and began to walk over to the hooded figure "are you Orochimaru's spy" he asked as he stopped a few feet away from him.

"Yes I am" the figure said before he took off his hood revealing a light blue haired man with a bandana with a leaf symbol on it "I'm Mizuki; Lord Orochimaru said I'd meet you here" he said as he took out 2 scrolls. "Here are your 2 objectives" Mizuki said "I have gathered as much information as I could; now it's up to you" he said and Roga nodded as he took the scrolls.

"Much appreciated; now leave" Roga said as Mizuki began to run away; Hinata however was shocked.

'Mizuki sensei was a spy for Orochimaru's; the whole time' Hinata thought; Hinata had Mizuki as her chunin teacher since she entered the academy, she would've never thought he was a traitor. Hinata then felt a hand on her shoulder; she looked over and saw Naruto who nodded.

"Lets go" Naruto said; Hinata gulped before nodding and both Naruto and Haku disappeared in a swirl of leaves.

With Mizuki

Mizuki was running along the path back toward the village 'I hope lord Orochimaru notices this' Mizuki thought 'it took me months to figure out where the scroll was; the Hokage won't know what-' Mizuki began.

Mizuki never finished his inner monologue as an arrow hit his right temple piercing his brain and coming out the other side; Mizuki was sent flying until the arrow stuck into a tree holding him up like a morbid piece of art.

Naruto and Hinata ran up and looked at Mizuki "good shot" Naruto said walking up before grabbing the arrow and pulling it out "clean kill, no pain, no suffering" Naruto said. "Good Jon Hin-" Naruto began as he turned around; Hinata was currently puking her guts up as she saw Mizuki.

Hinata has never directly killed anyone before and her first kill made her sick; Naruto seeing this ran over and began to pat her back "go on Hinata; let it all out" he said as Hinata coughed and wiped her mouth. "Are you ok" Naruto asked.

"No" Hinata said "I feel awful; I never killed anyone" she said and Naruto nodded.

"I know, I know; I felt the same way when I killed my first person" Naruto said and Hinata nodded "I'll destroy the body; go back to Haku" he said and Hinata nodded.

"Thank you" Hinata said before she started walking away.

"Hinata wait" Naruto said stopping her before walking up to her; Naruto gave Hinata a hug and spoke "We can talk later if you need to" he said.

Hinata was shocked for a moment before she returned the hug "I appreciate it Naruto" Hinata said; suddenly Naruto gave her a kiss on the cheek making her turn beet red.

Naruto hopped back and began scratching his head "oh, sorry Hinata, it was my auto pilot" Naruto said nervously "I just do that a lot with Haku and the girls and I just-" he began. Hinata immediately turned around and began to run away "oh crap" Naruto thought "oh man I just made her feel uncomfortable; dumbass" he said slapping himself.

"Oh yeah the body" Naruto said as he picked up Mizuki "ok you fat bastard, lets go" he said as he began to carry off the corpse.

Hinata meanwhile was rushing back to Haku at break neck speed; she was red in the face and not thinking straight 'Naruto kissed me, why would he do that, I'm his friend, does he like me…' Hinata's mind was racing so fast she did not realize that she ran by Haku and Roga.

"Huh… where's she going" Roga said confused.

"Must be about her killing the informant" Haku said "I'll go talk to her" Haku said.

The Next Day, Training ground 44: With Naruto, Haku and Hinata

Naruto was looking at Hinata who was avoiding eye contact with him 'aww man is she still pissed' Naruto thought 'it was an accident; I swear' he thought looking at Hinata with puppy dog eyes.

'Should I talk to him' Hinata thought 'Haku said I should, but I have a mission, but we will have a break at some point, what do I do' Hinata thought.

'This is so entertaining' Haku thought 'I wonder who will break the ice first'; Hinata had told her about her and Naruto and Haku had no ill will. If anything she found it as a source of entertainment 'this is like my romance manga; when two people won't confess to each other even though they are into each other… drama at it's finest' she thought with a smile.

"Ok people, shut up and listen" Anko shouted as she gained that attention of the remaining teams; so far there were 22 remaining teams totaling 66 all together "as you can see behind me is where the next stage of the exams will be held" she said as he reached into her pockets and pulled out 2 scrolls. "Each team will be given either an earth scroll or a heaven scroll" Anko continued "your objective is to get both scrolls from an opposing team; so by the end of this exam the number of you will be cut in half" she said with a smirk.

"Bah; quit trying to scare us lady" Naruto said waving her off "I've dealt with worse" he said; as soon as he said that he heard a kunai 'whoosh' through the air. Naruto saw a kunai coming towards him and caught it just before it hit his face; however he then felt cold steel touch his neck and blood run down his skin.

Anko was behind him and had a kunai to his throat and cut him lightly "cocky guys like you are always the first to die" Anko said licking his blood and making Naruto shiver.

Haku seeing this was pissed as Anko just hurt and licked her boyfriend, while Hinata was standing there shocked as she has never seen anyone move so fast. A few yards away a grass ninja licked his lips.

A disguised Orochimaru was smirking at Anko 'dear Anko, look at you, all grown up' he thought.

"Don't press your luck kid" Anko said pulling her kunai away and walking back in front of everyone; Naruto rubbed his neck.

'Crazy lady; I guess Zabuza was right, the hotter the girl the crazier they are" Naruto thought.

Else where

Tsunade and Mei Terumi both sneezed at the same time.

With Naruto

Naruto left his team and was looking for Sakura; he wanted to thank her for helping him during the written test. As he walked among the crowd he saw Sakura standing next to a tree away from her other 2 teammates "Hey sakura" Naruto called out.

Sakura jolted in surprise as she heard Niku's voice; Sakura saw him walking towards her and she quickly looked over to her team. Sasuke looked at her with a menacing look that sent shivers down her spine; Sakura gulped as Niku stopped a few feet away.

"Hey glad I could find you" Niku said with a smile "I just wanted to say thanks for yesterday; you really saved my bacon" he said keeping his smile.

"N-Niku" Sakura said is a frail voice making Naruto concerned "I-I shouldn't be talking to you, you're an enemy" Sakura said making Naruto's heart falter. "I-I no longer want to be your friend" Sakura said as she began to walk away from him and to her team.

Naruto was heart broken 'Sakura…why' Naruto thought; just then he saw Sakura begin to cry 'wait what' Naruto thought. Naruto took a look and saw Sakura's teammate Sasuke smirk at this 'is this his doing' Naruto thought narrowing his eyes 'oh I get it' he thought.

Sakura stood next to Sasuke and Sasuke huffed "About time you ditched that loser" Sasuke said to a sobbing Sakura.

Naruto decided to keep his mouth shut and walk away back to his team 'it was that pretty boy; he forced Sakura to do that' Naruto thought before smirking 'looks like I have 2 side missions now; find my parents and kick his ass' Naruto thought as he walked away.

At a gate: With Hinata and Haku

"I'm just saying you should talk to him" Haku said to Hinata "he's already dating 3 of us… well I guess you can count Fubuki but she's not official" she said and Hinata held her head down.

"But what if he says no" Hinata ask worried "what if he only see's me as a friend and what if- shhh he's coming" Hinata said as Naruto was walking towards them. Both Hinata and Haku saw the look on Naruto face and became concerned.

"Niku; what's wrong" Haku asked Naruto who clenched his fists.

"I think something is wrong with Sakura" Naruto said "she broke off our friend ship; but she began to cry and that pretty boy teammate of hers was smirking at the sight" he said making both girls eyes widen. "I have a bad feeling; I think she might be in trouble" Naruto said "when the exam is over I'm going to question her with Mie here" he said.

"B-but" Hinata stuttered "if she finds out who I am she-" Hinata began until Naruto spoke up.

"You said you were her friend right" Naruto asked and Hinata nodded "she'll tell you everything and she won't give you away; you can just say you ran away for a better life" he said and Hinata nodded.

"I-I'll think about it" Hinata said and Naruto smiled.

"That's all I ask" Naruto said; as soon as he said that a speaker crackled to life.

"Ok people get ready" Anko said over the speaker "the second stage of the chunin exams starting… NOW" she declared. The gates popped open and Naruto and his team ran through the forest as fast as they could.

"Haku we have a Heaven scroll right" Naruto asked and Haku nodded.

"Yes we do" Haku said as they continued running through the forest "so we need and earth scroll; once we have that we head tot he tower" she said and Naruto nodded.

"Ok; lets find some teams" Naruto said as he looked over to Hinata "Mie; would you kindly" he asked and Hinata nodded as she put her hands together.

'Byakugan' Hinata activated her Byakugan and began to look around 'nothing yet; hopefully I see something soon' she thought as she began to scan around.

2 hours later: with a random grass team

"Damn it; we haven't found shit" a grass ninja cursed as he walked point with his 2 teammates behind him "we should stop and set up a trap" he said.

"Shut the fuck up" his teammate said in a whisper "do you want the whole damn forest to find us" he asked as his point man flipped him off.

"He's right you know" said the third member of the team "we should wait here until-" he began until he fell to the ground. Both of his teammates looked back and saw that he had an arrow through his thigh.

"Holy shit" the first teammate shouted as he began to run towards his fallen teammate; suddenly he was hit in the calf by another arrow.

"Fuck" the last teammate shouted as he ran and hid behind a tree; he peered around the tree and heard nothing but the cries of his 2 comrades 'where the hell are you' he thought.

His thoughts were cut short when he felt a cold chill behind him; Haku came from behind him in an ice mirror and put a kunai to his neck "don't scream" Haku said calmly. "I won't kill you; I just want the scroll, give it to us and I'll let you go free" Haku said as the grass ninja gulped "I know you have an earth scroll" she said and the grass ninja gulped.

"Fine" he said as she slowly reached into his pocket and took out the earth scroll "take it and go" he said and Haku smiled as she grabbed it.

"Much appreciated; by the way our sniper told me to apologize to your friends" Haku said "she aimed for spots that hurt but won't cause any permanent damage" Haku said before slipping back into her mirror and vanishing.

"Fucking shit" he cursed as he ran towards his comrades; he skidded to a stop to his teammate and cursed "I need a-" he began until he was hit in the back twice. He turned around and saw 2 tourniquets with strings attached to them; he immediately grabbed them and began to wrap it around his friends leg "you guys are assholes" he shouted "but thanks" he said.

With Naruto, Haku and Hinata

"That went pretty well" Haku said holding the scrolls "good shooting by the way Hinata; it's a shame you couldn't get the last guy" she said and Hinata began to poke her fingers together.

"W-well is I shot the other one then he wouldn't be able to transport his friends to safety" Hinata said from behind her helmet; Naruto went up and patted Hinata on the back.

"Well I thought you did a good job Hinata" Naruto said making Hinata smile from the praise "ok girls; lets hunker down for the night" he said and both Hinata and Haku nodded as they left the area.

In a hollowed out tree (nightfall); a few hours later: With Naruto, Haku and Hinata

"Ok, my threads are set up, land mines placed and stabilized our tracks" Naruto said as he entered the tree 'Sasori, I owe you big for those mines' Naruto thought.

Both Hinata and Haku were setting up their bedrolls when Naruto entered "glad to hear it" Haku said "ok lets hit the hay" Haku said and Naruto nodded. Naruto walked over and laid down on the bed roll with Haku and Hinata lying next to him; Naruto looked over to Hinata puzzled.

"Uhhh… Hinata; why are you sleeping here" Naruto asked; Hinata flinched and began to poke her fingers together.

"Ummm, ummm" Hinata said as Haku listened closely.

'Go on, say it' Haku thought 'because you want to' she thought

"I, umm… want to sleep next to you" Hinata began as she began to grow red behind her helmet "because I'm scared of the forest" Hinata said. Haku smacked her forehead.

"Oh, ok" Naruto said believing the excuse "I get it Hinata; don't worry, me and Haku are light sleepers, we'll keep you safe, right honey" he said and Haku nodded.

"Of course" Haku said before looking at Hinata in disappointment 'you blew it' Haku thought and Hinata lowered her head.

'I blew it' Hinata thought as she laid her head down on Naruto's shoulder; Naruto then wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer while doing the same with Haku.

"Night girls" Naruto said as he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

"Goodnight Naruto, goodnight Hinata" Haku said as she closed her eyes 'I guess we'll have to try again later' Haku thought.

"G-goodnight" Hinata said; Hinata laid her head against Naruto and smiled from behind her helmet 'I guess this is fine for now' she thought as she fell asleep.

The next morning

"Slowly, slowly" Naruto said as he unscrewed a cap on a mine "gotcha" Naruto said as he took off the cap revealing the fuse. Naruto reached in and unscrewed the fuse and took it out and put it in his pocket "how you girls doing" Naruto said looking over to Hinata and Haku who were undoing his thread traps.

"Fine, should be done soon" Haku said as she cut another thread.

"I'm almost there" Hinata said as she wound up Naruto's thread for her to use later 'Naruto really needs to learn how to recycle' she thought.

"Ok, let me know when-" Naruto began until he froze; Naruto felt a dark and ominous feeling in his gut and he stood up 'what the hell is that' Naruto thought.

Both Haku and Hinata were looking at Naruto in confusion "Naruto are you ok" Haku asked; Naruto ignored her as the feeling got worse.

'I got a bad feeling about this' Naruto thought as he looked at Hinata and Haku "you guys stay here; I gotta check this out" Naruto said as he began to run off in that direction.

"Na-Niku wait" Haku shouted but Naruto was already gone "come on, lets go after him" Haku said as both Hinata and Haku began to chase after Naruto.

With Sakura

Sakura was bruised, bloody and exhausted as she kneeled on the ground; near the beginning of the exam she and her team were attacked by someone named Orochimaru. During the fight Sai was wounded and Sasuke was bit on the neck leaving a weird tattoo; both Sai and Sakura moved Sasuke to a location for the night.

However their relief was short lived as both she and Sai were attacked by the sound team; as of right now Sai was on the ground bleeding from his ears after being hit by Dosu. Sakura was beaten by Zaku and had to cut her hair after being captured by kin.

But all that paled as she saw Sasuke emerge from the tree where they were hiding at with a dark aura and black markings across his body; Sasuke immediately attacked Zaku and Kin breaking Zaku's arms and knocking Kin out.

Only Dosu was left and Sakura felt helpless as she thought Sasuke was going to kill the sound genin 'what is going on' Sakura thought in a panic.

'This is bad; lord Orochimaru didn't say anything about this' Dosu said as he prepared for battle; Sasuke smirked evilly as he cracked his knuckles.

"And then there was one" Sasuke said as he focused on Dosu; Sasuke charged at Dosu who got prepared for the attack. However before Sasuke could reach him he was knocked to the side; Sasuke hit the ground hard as he looked up "who did that" he shouted.

Naruto was standing there looking at him with a scowl "Niku" Sakura shouted with hope in her voice; Naruto looked at her with a smile.

"Sup Sakura" Naruto said "sit there while I handle your teammate here" Naruto said as he looked at Sasuke. "Hey mummy guy; grab your friends and leave" Naruto said and Dosu nodded.

"Thanks" Dosu said as he ran to pick up Zaku and Kin before leaving.

"You idiot; they were my opponents" Sasuke shouted and Naruto scoffed.

"Shove it pretty boy" Naruto said as his threads began to pop out of his arms "you wanna fight; I'll give you a fight" he said.
