Stitched Kitsune: Chapter 27
Outskirts of Konoha; 1 Day before the finals: With Naruto, Haku, Hinata and Roga
Naruto was in his disguise sitting on a log looking at the gold dust in his hand; Naruto focused his chakra and began to manipulate it into different shapes. Naruto formed the gold dust into a sphere before changing it into a pyramid; Naruto flattened the gold dust and formed it into a golden dagger.
The golden dagger had a handle that his palm perfectly and had a 5 inch double blade on each side 'I'm getting better at this' he thought. Naruto over the past several days has been practicing with the gold dust trying to learn how to use it; he had half a pound of gold dust in order to have some at all times.
Ironically he made the gold dust from the gold bar that Kakuzu gave him after his first mission with him and Fu back in Taki; Kakuzu thought it was a waste of money but Naruto saw it as an advantage.
"Niku are you ready" Hinata said walking up wearing her helmet "Haku and Roga are ready to move out".
Naruto nodded "yeah Mie; give me a second" Naruto said; Naruto manipulated the gold dust and it went to both of his hands. Naruto created 10 gold rings for each of his fingers and 2 bracelets for each of his wrists "there we go; all inconspicuous" he said and Haku chuckled.
"You've been reading that book Karin gave you" Haku said and Naruto smiled and rubbed the back of his head.
"She wants me to brush up on my vocabulary and start using big word" Naruto said "no wait sorry… more sophisticated words". Haku and Hinata both chuckled at this and Roga groaned in annoyance.
"Lets hurry up; I want to be at the village by noon" Roga said as he and the others all got up and began to walk to Konoha. A half an hour later Naruto heard a voice inside his head.
"This is it brat; this is what I've been waiting all these years for" The Kyuubi said in Naruto's head "You have 3 hearts now, thanks to the snake sanin; are you ready".
Naruto frowned 'Like i have a choice' Naruto said in his mind 'I made a promise and I intend to keep it… as much as i don't want too'. They Kyuubi chuckled at this and went silent; Naruto sighed 'me and my damn promises' he thought.
Just then the walls of Konoha came into view and Naruto clenched his fists 'Konoha… you're biggest mistake has returned' he thought.
Konoha training ground: With Sakura, Anko and Kurenai
Sakura was breathing heavily on the ground as she tried to catch her breath as she just got done sparring with Anko and Kurenai; Sakura rolled over and got to her knees and looked at the 2 smiling jonin looking at her.
"I-I lost again" Sakura said and Anko chuckled and walked over to Sakura and placed her hand on her shoulder.
"Maybe so, but your taijutsu has improved a lot" Anko said making Sakura smile weakly.
"Not to mention your genjutsu has improved as well" Kurenai said with a smile of her own.
"Well I hope it'll be enough" Sakura said getting to her feet "I don't know who will be my opponent until tomorrow but I'll definitely try my best" she said with determination.
Anko smirked and leaned in "who knows maybe it'll be that Niku boy" Anko said making Sakura blush "I've seen the way you've looked at him". Sakura backed away and began to wave her hands.
"I-it's not like that" Sakura said before calming down "it's just… he's different from the others; he actually treats me with respect and dignity".
Kurenai smiled at this 'kind of like me and Asuma' she thought "Well Sakura, just remember he is a foreign ninja; you shouldn't get crushes for anyone outside the village".
Sakura blushed harder "I-it's not like that" Sakura protested and Anko laughed.
"Don't take it personally kid" Anko said before looking at Kurenai "Kurenai here is head over heels for some guy; hell she hasn't even told me his name or where he works".
Kurenai crossed her arms and pursed her lips "my private life is none of you're concern" Kurenai said and Anko rolled her eyes.
"Whatever" Anko said before she started leading Sakura and Anko out of the training ground "lets go and get some sweets".
Hokage tower: With Hiruzen, Kakashi, Sasuke and Sai
Hiruzen was sitting at his desk looking at Kakashi, Sasuke and Sai; Hiruzen folded his hands in front of his face and spoke.
"Tomorrow is the chunin exam finals; you understand what this means correct" Hiruzen said and all 3 nodded "there will be dozens of high ranking officials and wealthy clients there to witness the fights".
"I trained these two to the best of my ability" Kakashi said "I'm sure they can handle whoever they get put up against". Hiruzen nodded and spoke.
"Good because here is a little secret; the fights will be rigged" Hiruzen said surprising all of them "Sasuke and Sai will be fighting two particular shinobi while another, Neji Hyuga will be fighting another". Hiruzen pulled out a roster "Sasuke vs Gaara, Sai vs Dosu and Niku vs Neji" he said before Sasuke spoke up.
"And why are we fighting them" Sasuke asked and Hiruzen spoke.
"You are fighting them because they are the best of the rival villages" Hiruzen said "if we have three of our finest genin beat three of the best genin of the other villages then we will basically be 'winning' the finals no matter who is at the end".
"I see; quite an interesting idea" Sai said with a smile "a show of Konoha's might and a way to project power to the other villages".
Hiruzen nodded and spoke "go and get well rested; tomorrow is possibly the most important day of your careers". Hiruzen looked at Kakashi and scowled "they better not fail; or it's your head"; Kakashi gulped and nodded.
"Yes Lord Hokage" Kakashi said nervously and Hiruzen nodded.
"Leave; I have work to do" Hiruzen said; Kakashi, Sasuke and Sai all left the room leaving Hiruzen alone.
Hyuga compound: With Neji
Neji was kneeling in front of Hiashi and the Hyuga elders as he was summoned by them; Neji had been training hard for the past month and believed that he was ready for the exams.
"Neji" Hiashi said getting the boys attention "the Hyuga clan is the most noble clan in Konoha; we are the shining beacon of perfection in both the shinobi and martial arts". "Tomorrow you will be facing many opponents; the last Uchiha and the Kazekage's son" Hiashi said.
"I will not fail the Hyuga clan" Neji said and Hiashi nodded.
"You better not" Hiashi said "ever since the disappearance of Hinata the prestige of our clan has gone down; you must erase her failure by winning the exams, no matter the cost".
"Yes Lord Hiashi" Neji said and Hiashi stood to his feet.
"You are dismissed" Hiashi said; Neji got up, bowed and left the room.
Neji left the room with a scowl on his face 'I will win these exams, but not for the glory of the main house' Neji thought 'this is because it's my destiny'.
The next day: Chunin exam stadium
Naruto, Hinata and Haku all entered the chunin exam stadium as the patrons were filing in "a lot of people here" Naruto said and both Hinata and Haku nodded.
"Hey Niku" came a voice; Naruto, Hinata and Haku turned around and saw Sakura running up "You made it; I'm so glad" she said and Naruto smiled.
"Hey Sakura, hows it going" Naruto said "are you ready to kick some butt and show your stuff"; Sakura nodded with determination and smiled.
"You bet; I'm going to give it my all" Sakura said before looking at Hinata "how about you 'Mie'" Sakura said with a wink and Hinata smiled from behind her helmet.
"I'm ready for what ever comes my way" Hinata said.
"What about you… Haku… did i get it right" Sakura asked as she hasn't formally met Haku other than their time in the forest.
"Yes that's me" Haku said with a smile "and I'm ready as I'll ever be".
"Well lets get going; this thing starts in 5 minutes" Naruto said as the other nodded; all four walked through the hallway towards the arena, ready to begin their matches.
In the arena
Naruto was standing in the middle of the arena with the other finalists as the stadium was in an uproar of cheering; Naruto looked to his side and saw the other contestants.
Team Baki consisting of Gaara, Kankuro and Temari.
Team Asuma consisting of Shikamaru Nara, Choji Akimichi and Ino Yamanaka.
Team Kakashi consisting of Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha and Sai.
Team Guy consisting of Neji Hyuga, Tenten and Rock Lee.
And Orochimaru's team of Dosu, Kin and Zaku.
'I wonder who I'll fight first' Naruto thought; he was brought out of his thoughts when the proctor came out.
"Ladies and Gentlemen; I am Genma Shiranui and I'll be the proctor of the chunin exam finals" Genma said as the crowd went up into a round of applause "now then we will decide the first matches at random; each subsequent match will be against the previous winner". "Now then, lets take a look electronic board and we'll select our first 2 fighters" Genma said.
Everyone looked to the electronic board and it powered on; a second later the names of the contestants began to flash across the board. About five seconds later 2 names appeared; Sakura Haruno vs Ino Yamanaka.
Sakura went wide eyed 'I'm first' she thought; suddenly she was patted on the back nearly knocking her off her feet.
"Hell yeah Sakura; congrats" Naruto said "you're so lucky"; Sakura smiled at this.
"Thanks Niku" Sakura said; Sasuke looked at this in disgust but before he could voice his opinion Genma spoke up.
"Alright; everyone except for the two who were called leave the arena" Genma said; everyone began to file out except for Sakura and Ino who stayed behind.
Kage Booth: With Hiruzen and the 'Kazekage'
Orochimaru was disguised as the Kazekage and was looking down at the arena as to not give away his presence to Hiruzen.
"Hmmm… a Yamanaka" Orochimaru said in his disguised voice "one of Konoha's shinobi clans; but who is the other girl".
"Sakura Haruno is a Kunoichi from a civilian family" Hiruzen said "she has an aptitude for genjutsu… although her other skills are lacking". 'I don't have high hopes for this fight' Hiruzen thought.
In the arena: With Sakura
"Ok you two; get ready" Genma said as he looked both at Ino and Sakura; Sakura flinched away and Genma got confused 'Huh… why's she scared of me'. "Hey Haruno; are you ok" Genma asked concerned.
Sakura's face morphed into a look in between disgust and anger "b-back off" Sakura stuttered out and Genma got even more confused.
'Did I piss her off somehow… what ever' Genma thought.
Ino had a smirk on her face as she looked towards Sakura "you might as well give up billboard brow" Ino said "you can't beat me, not in a fight, nor for Sasuke's heart".
Sakura scoffed "You can keep that arrogant asshole" Sakura said "I'm not fighting for me and me alone"; Sakura got into her taijutsu stance and Ino followed suit.
"Ok then" Genma said as he raised up his hand "let the first match… begin"; Genma dropped his hand and jumped away.
Ino was looking at Sakura and was about to make her move when she saw Sakura rush to her at a speed she could barely even see; Sakura cocked back her fist and threw a punch.
Sakura's punch connected with Ino's nose making blood spray as her head cocked back; Sakura followed up with another punch to Ino's stomach making her cough up her breath; Sakura finished her combo by throwing a roundhouse kick to Ino's ribs.
Ino was sent skidding across the ground away from Sakura who was in her taijutsu stance "what's wrong Ino; I guess you were all talk" she said.
In the competitors box
"Yeah kick her ass Sakura" Naruto shouted "and do it quick, i bet a lot of money on you".
Haku reached out and grabbed his ear pulling him towards her "you're betting on the fights" Haku hissed in a whisper "we are on a mission".
"Ow,ow,ow, I know" Naruto said as Haku let him go "I just thought I'd make a little extra money while we where here; besides… I had someone else make the bet".
Hinata looked at him "who did you get".
At the betting booths
Fubuki, Roga and Mizore were all at an area in the arena where there were monitors and betting booths looking at the fights; so far Fubuki was looking on at the fight Naruto told her to bet on.
"Oh man this is too good" Fubuki said rubbing her hands together "I'm going to buy myself a mink coat with these winnings"; both Roga and Mizore looked at their fellow snow ninja in disappointment.
"She's really betting; god… 'Niku's' greed has rubbed off on her" Mizore said and Roga nodded.
"He is very persuasive" Roga said before looking at the clock 'two more hours until the invasion' he thought.
With Sakura
Ino got back to her feet and wiped the blood from her bleeding lip and glared at Sakura "you're going to pay for that" Ino shouted as she reached behind herself and took out several kunai. Ino thew the kunai at Sakura who took out a kunai of her own; Sakura used her kunai to block Ino's as they clattered to the ground.
Ino used this opportunity to rush towards Sakura while taking out a kunai; Ino closed the distance and slashed at Sakura.
Sakura dodged but was still cut a crossed her stomach ripping open her shirt and leaving a small cut; Sakura countered by sending a stab towards Ino. Ino dodged to the side and grabbed Sakura hand and pulled her closer; Sakura was pulled towards Ino and Ino was about to stab Sakura.
Sakura in a desperate move went toward Ino, Ino's kunai overshot Sakura as Ino went wide eyed; Sakura tackled Ino to the ground slamming into her at full force. Sakura mounted Ino and knocked the kunai out of her hand; Sakura used her free hand to punch Ino in the face.
Sakura proceeded to roll Ino on her her stomach and grab her by the pony tail; Ino yelped as her head was lifted up. Sakura moved her kunai to Ino's neck and spoke.
"Give up Ino" Sakura said and Ino growled.
"No way; you don't have the guts" Ino said; Sakura raised up her kunai and brought it down onto Ino. Ino braced for the pain but was greeted by the ground when she got a face full of dirt.
Ino felt Sakura get off of her and she looked up and saw something in Sakura's hand; Sakura had used her kunai to cut off Ino's long pony tail that she took a lot of pride in.
"You bitch" Ino roared as she rushed towards Sakura; Sakura proceeded to kick Ino in the face sending her back to the ground.
Ino jumped back to gain some distance; Ino was panting in rage as she made a special hand sign. Sakura realizing what it was began to run as to not give Ino a clear shot; Ino aimed at Sakura in an attempt to use her mind transfer jutsu.
Sakura began to run to the side as Ino tried to stay on her long enough in order to perform her jutsu 'I can't let her get a clear shot' Sakura thought as she went through hand signs.
Sakura created 4 clones and Ino cursed 'damn' Ino thought as Sakura and her clones began to run towards her.
Ino took out some shuriken and threw them towards Sakura and her clones; the real Sakura ducked and rolled while her clones vanished.
"Got you now" Ino shouted as she ran towards Sakura and threw a powerful kick towards Sakura's head; when it connected Sakura turned into cherry blossom pedals and Ino went wide eyed 'what the hell'.
Suddenly a tree came out of the ground and it's branches wrapped around Ino restraining her "what the hell is this" Ino shouted as she tried to break free.
"This Ino" came Sakura's voice as she came out of the tree trunk behind Ino holding a kunai "is the power of genjutsu". Sakura brought down the kunai and hit Ino on her temple with the ringed side, knocking her out.
Ino fell to the ground as the genjutsu was canceled and Sakura was left standing.
"Winner of the First Match is… Sakura Haruno" Genma announced and the entire arena went up in applause.
With Anko and Kurenai
"Haha that's my girl" Anko shouted from the stands; Anko turned to Kakashi and Asuma and flipped them off "choke on that needle dicks" she gloated. Both Kakashi and Asuma were furious for different reasons; Kakashi because Sakura won despite him not training her and Asuma because Ino lost to Sakura making him look bad.
"Hey Anko; don't talk to them like that" Kurenai said "what have they done for you to speak to them like that".
Anko wanted to tell her about what they did to Sakura but she held her tongue "they're assholes who think women can't fight".
"Now I know that's not true" Kurenai said looking to Asuma with a smile.
"Thanks Kurenai" Asuma said 'you better watch it snake bitch; otherwise you and pinkie down there will end up in an early grave'.
With Naruto, Haku and Hinata
"Yes, yes, Sakura won; I'm going to be rich" Naruto shouted and both Hinata and Haku sweat dropped at this.
"Hey that's our teammate down there" Choji said "i mean she may not have won but there's no need to be rude". Naruto hearing this looked sheepish.
"Sorry dude; i just got caught up in the moment" Naruto said.
"What a drag" Shikamaru said "I know Ino just a dumb girl but she could've done a lot better". Shikamaru then felt killing intent come from 4 different sources; Haku, Tenten, Temari and Kin were all looking at him.
"Want to repeat that" Haku asked as ice formed around her.
"Say that again pineapple boy" Temari said grabbing her fan.
"Do you wanna lose your nuts" Kin said taking out a kunai.
"You better shut your mouth" Tenten said; Shikamaru gulped until he heard footsteps coming up the stairs.
"Hey guys did you see that" Sakura cheered as she entered the box.
"Hey Sakura good job down there" Shikamaru said running over with a smile "you sure showed Ino who's boss, great job, fight the patriarchy" he said trying to save his hide.
"Huh… fight the what" Sakura said confused.
In the Kage booth
"My, what a interesting fight" Orochimaru said "that Sakura girl is more than meets the eye; she was able to do hand signs and project a genjutsu while doing a roll".
Hiruzen nodded "I'll admit it; I'm just as surprised as you" he said 'I might want to put her under Kurenai's tutelage'.
In the arena
"Ok next contestants will be" Genma announced as the board went through names once more; the board stopped a few second later and showed 2 names. "Niku and Neji Hyuga come on down" Genma announced.
With Naruto, Hinata and Haku
"Oh yeah" Naruto said excitedly as he looked over to Neji who was walking out 'oh you prick, oh you asshole; you're the reason I got cut up all those years ago, you're the reason i had to leave this village'. Naruto clenched his fists 'you are going to pay Hyuga boy'.
"N-Niku" Hinata said as she got Naruto's attention; Hinata leaned in and whispered "I know you hate him, but please, please don't kill him; he's my family despite everything".
Naruto was about to say no but Hinata grabbed his hand; Naruto groaned in annoyance "fine I won't kill him" Naruto said as he walked away "but I am going to kick his ass".
Hinata sighed at this "I guess that's the best i can ask for" she said.
Sakura put a hand on Hinata's shoulder and smiled "Don't worry; Niku keeps his word" she said and Hinata nodded.
"Unless he kills him accidentally" Haku said gaining both of their attentions "he could accidentally cause a brain bleed, he could fall down and break his neck, he might even die if he kicks him in the stomach and ruptures an organ".
"There's all kind's of ways that-" Haku began as she turned around but stopped when she say both Hinata and Sakura looking at her; Sakura had a face of shock and despite Hinata wearing her helmet Haku could tell she had a look of shock too "but… Umm… I'm sure it'll be fine". 'Shut up now Haku' Haku thought to herself.
In the arena
Both Naruto and Neji were looking at each other, Neji had a look of confidence while Naruto had a smile on his face.
'Hmmph, look at this peasant' Neji thought 'I can't wait to show him to know that fighting a Hyuga is futile'. 'Look at him; he's probably terrified of me' Neji thought
'Wake up in the morning I got murder on my mind' Naruto sung to himself in his head 'Yumi's, shurikens, katana's, clubs and knives; and all these pussy niggas hating trying to knock me off my grind. But i can't let 'em do it, I got murder on my mind; bitch I got murder on my mind'. 'A little spiritual warm up is always a good idea' Naruto thought with a foxy grin.
"Hey kid are you ok" Genma asked Naruto "you seemed a little spacey".
"Yeah I'm good" Naruto said.
"Alright then" Genma announced as both Naruto and Neji got into their stances "match 2; Niku vs Neji Hyuga, are you ready" Genma announced and both boys nodded. "And… Begin" Genma shouted as he dropped his hand.
