This is crossover between Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio and several scify TV shows, a bit of Battlestar Galactica, The Lost Fleet and Robotech. After the Cylon War, Mankind has expanded. The Machines they had found looked as good neighbors, until a planet belonging to an unknown species was located with all it's population killed. A diplomatic mission was attacked and the war began.
