Then*

Danny was doing his normal run of the mill clean up with the escaped ghosts that were now terrorizing Amity Park.

After rounding up what Danny had thought was the last escaped ghost.

He heard a woman's scream in the distance, her voice sounding like it had come from one of these abandoned buildings.

This part of town was heavily neglected, an eye sore to some.

Fences and broken caution tape litter the area.

All of which never really stopped anyone from exploring this sectioned off part of town.

The buildings had started being demolished but had stopped abruptly due to the area being deemed to hazardous for even the shady corner cutting demolition crews.

Everything that was still standing was bleak and brittle.

(An area that was probably once full of hope was now a hollow shell of it's former self, ) Danny thought.

Danny took to the sky for a better vantage point, trying to better assess where she could be, but with no one in sight around the buildings, He began to investigate the cry for help on foot.

The soft sound of the glass and debris crunching under his feet with every step.

Danny paused and stood still for a moment, feeling useless as he desperately searched for any sign that she could be near.

As he began to depart the area,

Danny heard something clatter in the building, directly in front of him.

He slowly made his way to the entrance of the building.

As he continued through the building,

A disgustingly foul smell lingered in the air, like rotten eggs mixed with a strong smell of iron.

His stomach felt like it was doing flips and his nostrils were burning with this aroma.

He did his best to push the smell out of his mind and keep tunnel vison on the task at hand.

Unable to even see a few feet in front of himself, Danny used his ghost ray like a flashlight illuminating the darkness.

As he shined the light around, he could see empty beer cans and other remnants of previous party's that had taken place as well as dried blood splattered high on the walls like something you would see in a slasher film.

Hello? Everything's going to be ok. I'm here to help, Danny called out.

(At this point, uncertain if I'm trying to comfort them or me. ) He thought.

But nonetheless, Danny was left alone to the eerie sounds of the cold breeze, making it's way through the gaps and cracks in the broken windows.

Now*

Sitting on the edge of the bed, in deep thought of what's next..What will await me after my senior year? Danny thought.

"Danny?" A voice calls his name from downstairs,

Still frozen in deep thought, he doesn't move. His eyes fixated on this scar.

"Kakuhou..." Danny muttered.

(This word is the only thing that I have to go on to bring myself closer to some answers.) He thought.

"Danny!" (Jack) Danny's father called from the living room.

Snapping back to reality, Danny stood up and began to make his way to the bedroom door.

With a heavy sigh, Danny opened the door and headed downstairs.

Dinners had gotten awkward since the surgery, and every meal tasted awful.

Danny kind of suspected his family had begun to notice his decreased appetite.

Oddly enough the only thing that Danny still enjoyed was coffee.

Everyone gathered around the table for their meal.

Jazz, Maddie (Mom), and Danny's dad all exchanged fake smiles.

You know the ones you put on for passing strangers. Hoping it eases any discomfort as you cross paths.

They sat down at the dinner table and began to dig in.

Danny had tried to just have coffee and opt out of dinner, but his mother insisted.

So he took the plate and stared deeply at the food. (All my favorites...He thought to himself.)

Danny began to eat the food, chasing every bite with coffee. In hopes that the sweet taste of coffee would help him look past the horrible taste of the food. (Maybe it's food poisoning or the meds still in my system causing this distaste.) Danny , feeling nauseous, he excused himself and proceeded to expel the contents of his stomach.

After cleaning himself up, Danny walked back to the kitchen, just in time to see the headline for the locals news.

Across the bottom of the screen, it read, "Masked assailants strike Axion Labs again... Multiple security guard's bodies mangled beyond recognition...Bites taken out of the victims..CCG to take over investigation"

Lost in thought again, Danny unknowingly started mumbling.

The words "CCG?" slipped from his lips.

Mom must have heard him because she started to break down what they were.

It's the "Commission Of Counter Ghoul." We've never had any ghouls locally but their was a few rumors of ghouls back when your father and I first started hunting.

Mom had stopped talking for a moment clearing reminiscing. Ahem Danny cleared his throat loudly.

Sorry, which is probably why you have never heard of the organization Danny. Mom said warmly.

Jazz looked at Danny as if on standby to back any excuse he presented to go investigate.

But he avoided her gaze, he hadn't been able to sustain going ghost since the surgery.

(Plus, this hunger is crippling me) he thought.

Sipping his coffee, Danny remained glued to the tv screen.

The following news segmentate was a little more in-depth about ghouls.

"Ghouls can't process human food. In fact, eating regular food would soon be followed by a strong urge to vomit"

Danny froze, trying to wrap his head around what he just heard.

Instantly he was in a panic, the blood pounded in his ears and his hands were trembling.

Unable to face this Danny left and began to walk down the street until he found himself in a alley sobbing.

(A Ghoul...no..I can't be..I'm just sick..yeah.) Danny thought to himself.

Convinced he was overreacting, Danny walked to the gas station and grabbed some junk food.

After paying the clerk he walked outside and began to eat the food..but the second the food touched his tongue he hurled.

Danny repeated this process again and again until he found himself completely destroyed from the confirmation that he was in fact a ghoul.

He wandered the town for hours trying to clear his head and around midnight decided that he just wanted to sleep, at least then he wouldn't have to face this problem, not for a little while anyway.

On his way home, he had overheard what had sounded like arguing down the alleyway.

(Old habits die hard.) Danny thought as he somehow found himself subconsciously walking in the direction of the he got closer to the strangers, the voices went from arguing to silent, except Danny thought he heard a different kind of sound coming that direction now.

As he turned the corner, he no longer found two people arguing but someone feeding on the body.

Danny was stunned, he didn't move.

Then*

I found her. Danny thought to himself a woman with long lavender colored hair and red glasses.

She was sobbing in the corner of the building.

He called to her across the building, but she never moved.

when he was within inches of her, she looked up and met his gaze, her eyes full pain and regret.

Something Danny knew a lot about.

He extended his hand. Offering to help her out this place and back to safety.

After she was back on her feet, still teary eyed.

He thought (if I introduced my self then maybe she would feel a bit more at ease.)

He began to speak My name's Danny Phan.."Phantom" She cut him off.

I think their is another person here, I thought I heard someone crying out from the next floor Rize said.

Ok, I can get you to safety then search for any others. No they could be badly hurt we should go together said Rize.

Danny hesitated for a moment before agreeing.

As they proceeded to the next floor, Rize took the left side and Danny the right.

Danny searched his side and saw nothing. Quickly he began to head toward the left side of the floor.

I've heard about you from the news, You're "The Ghost Of Amity Park," said Rize.

Danny completed startled somehow not noticing her presence behind him.

Right- he let out a nervous laugh. I forget I'm famous... Well, locally, he said.

Where did you run off to? I came looking for you after I cleared my side.

Oh- I went down stairs to look again- but obviously I didn't have any better luck looking down here Rize trailed off.

Hm, let's make our way out of here. Danny said, regretting bringing her along already.

They began to make there way out of the building when he noticed there was what appeared to be blood on her.

Are you hurt? he asked. Pointing towards the blood splatter on her shirt.

She looked up at him and there was a long pause before she spoke.

Oh- I must have got it when I leaned against one of the walls with the blood spatter Rize said her tone changing.

(The blood on her shirt is fresh, all the blood I've seen on the walls have been dry- ) Danny thought.

It looks pretty fresh compared to the walls though Danny said boldly.

Rize stopped walking before speaking what exactly are you trying to say? her demeanor shifted.

I'm not saying anything just making a observation, but I can assure you it is a clear that their is more then you are letting on.

Danny continued to walk towards the exit of the building, leaving Rize to walk behind him.

And here I thought I was playing the perfect damsel in destress, guess the charm really is in the specifics. Rize spoke more freely now her entire persona changed, from an innocent victim to a maniac, with these eyes unlike anything Danny had ever seen.

Even in the darkest depths of the ghost zone, he had never seen something like this.

Eyes with a striking shade of red and the sclera's now were no longer white.

But entirely pitch black with crimson veins stretching across the eyes and into the surrounding skin.
