Chapter 60
Ruins outside main Fortress in Bean Folk Territories...
Razor reclined on a large block of broken concrete as a red-black portal opened and Mayhem walked out of it.
"So, did you kill the alternate cyborg Anti-Tails again?" asked Razor with his arms behind his head before Mayhem tosses a fox skull with some damaged cybernetics still attached to it into his lap, "Oh. Hey! Look!"
Everyone looks as Razor puts the skull on his hand like a puppet.
~I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts!-~ sang Razor before the chain-axe swung and whacked him on the head with the flat of the blade, "Ow! What was that for?"
"I HATE THAT SONG!" snapped the entity trapped within the axe.
~It's a small world after all!-~ began Razor before Mayhem buried him in the ground after whacking him on the head with a steel beam.
"And I hate that one." said Mayhem with barely contained anger.
"Party Poopers! Wait! I know! ~Every party needs a party pooper so that's why-~ Oh, hi great-grandpa Klaxon!" came Razor's voice from the hole he was buried in before a loud slap echoes out of the hole, "Ow!"
"That's three songs Razor! Stop it!" snapped Klaxon. (1)
"You're all party poopers!"
Razor pulls himself out of the hole he had been smashed into and shakes the dirt and rocks off himself before fixing his mohawk. At that moment, a portal opens and Frenzy, Tails and TD exit the portal back into this world. It closes behind them.
"So, how'd it go?" asked Mayhem as he tossed the steel beam away.
"Why were you holding a steel beam?" asked Tails.
"Razor./ME!" said Mayhem and Razor at the same time.
"Of course..." mutters the biomechanical fox.
"Well, good news. I'm fine again. Semi-bad, semi-good news." said Frenzy.
"And that is?" asked Mayhem.
"They encountered TD's past self and now he's in their world helping that world's Freedom Fighters." said Razor interrupting the black-furred fox.
"How-?"
"I'M INSANE BECAUSE OF THESE STUPID EYES! SEEING FUTURES IS HORRIBLE! HAHAHAHAHA!" yelled Razor before he grabbed Razor Junior and used the chain-axe to whack himself on the head with the flat.
"I forgot that." muttered Frenzy.
"And I got this." said Tails before he transformed his arm into-
-a Plasma Cannon.
-a Fusion Cannon. Both Razor and Mayhem look at it and then at each other.
"Well shit." said Razor as his ears flattened.
Mayhem sighs and opens a portal. The two head for it.
"Wait, you two are leaving?" asked TD.
"There's nothing more we can do here." said Mayhem.
"You're lying."
"Am I?"
"Yes, you are. This whole time you've been holding back and now you're suddenly leaving when we're going to be fighting Mephiles! Why?"
"Well...time is a tricky thing. And well...sometimes the world is a bit too far over the edge and we can't do anything to help."
"So we're going to lose?"
"I didn't say that was the outcome. If it was, I wouldn't exist and neither would Razor."
"We could be wrong but...things point to a notsogreat ending. And us being here beyond this point tips it more towards the bad aspect." said Razor.
"And how do we get the good aspect then?!" asked Tails angrily.
"Not get a Fusion Cannon this early." replied Mayhem.
"This early? What?!"
"Time is funny. Don't worry. Things work out. You coming Admin?" asked Mayhem turning to the red-gold armored hedgehog.
"No. I'm gonna stay. Try to see if I can improve my record. One out of four attempts resulting in victory is horrible." replied the hedgehog as he adjusted his gauntlets.
"So, you are aware then..."
"Of course I'm aware! This is my fifth attempt! And seeing you two never gets any easier! Can survive getting your head chopped off! Acid for blood! Can see the freaking future! You two are the absolute worst teammates ever! But...you can certainly tip things towards the better end of this whole event. Sure you won't try to stick around?"
"I would but...not too keen on being erased again." said Mayhem as he picked at his teeth with his claws.
"And dad says I shouldn't mess with time related issues too much!" replied Razor, "They hurt when you get erased and then reform!"
"Okay will you two just leave already!? I'm getting a headache just listening to you!" yelled both Shade and Slothic at the same time.
Razor flips them both off as he jumps into the portal backwards. Mayhem walks halfway through the portal and then turns and looks at the group.
"Don't be afraid to kill if you have to." said Mayhem before he went through the portal and it closed behind him.
"I don't like this. So we're going to lose regardless?" asked Shade as he looked at Admin_Fun sternly.
"Not quite. Imagine a thirty-three percent chance of victory, a thirty-three percent chance of losing and then a thirty-four percent chance of just...nobody winning." replied Fun, thinking it over a moment.
"So yes, we can lose."
"Yes but it's not a perfectly defined defeat."
"How many times have you done this again?"
"Four times. This is my fifth."
"And you only had one victory?"
"To be fair, only one victory on THIS path."
"What does that mean?"
"On the other pathway of this world's shattered timeline, I have exactly eighty-eight victories and only twenty defeats."
"So what pathway are we on?" asked Tails.
"Best not have that question answered kid." replied Fun and despite his mask, Tails sees a sadness within his eyes hidden by the smiling mask.
"Let's just get this over with." grumbled Shade as he drew his double-barrel shotgun.
The group then heads for the fortress, unaware of Infinite having listened in as he had kept his one eye closed and once they're gone, he opens it and slowly gets to his feet. He steadies himself against the nearby ruined wall and then looks in the direction they went and then follows after but not at full speed.
Bean Folk Territories' Fortress, Main Lab...
Snively is finishing up some last minute adjustments on the equipment for Mephiles when security alarms began sounding as the outer doors were breached.
"Hope this is enough..." muttered the beak-nosed man as he finished the inputs before the doors to the room exploded.
Through the now destroyed doors, Shade steps in and discards the one-shot grenaded launcher and pulls out a double-barreled shotgun and points it at Snively who puts his hands up in surrender. Tails follows and brings out his Fusion Cannon and puts the barrel to Snively's forehead.
"Start talking beak nose! Where's Sonic?" demanded Tails as he began charging the cannon yet Snively was unphased by the weapon pressing against his forehead.
"Right behind you." said Snively calmly confusing Tails before he got hit with a spin-kick, burying him in the wall to his right.
Shade quickly spun towards the threat, shotgun ready, but had his arm grabbed and his wrist twisted, forcing him to let go of the weapon, before he could react. He was then hit hard enough to knock him to the ground.
Sonic, now with a dark blue quill and fur coloring reached up and ripped the device behind his ear out of its place as his eyes gain Mephiles' eyes, while bleeding heavily.
"You can run now Snively. If you go deep enough into your backup bunker system, you'll survive what's coming." said Sonic, his voice slowly changing to Mephiles'.
Snively quickly turn and ran, getting into a nearby emergency elevator and it quickly descends, away from the fight happening.
Sonic, now possessed by Mephiles, turns back towards Shade and Tails as the red and black hedgehog gets back to his feet as the biomechanical fox pulls himself out of the wall.
"Ignore Snively. We'll deal with him later." said Shade as he summoned a submachine gun and open fired on Sonic yet each round was dodged or deflected by his new crystalline claws.
"Yeah..." muttered Tails as he transformed the cannon arm back to normal and got into a defensive stance.
Mephiles, possessing Sonic, quickly deflected several shuriken thrown at him before grabbing the fox leaping at him from behind. He then rips the gem rod off the fox's head but then notices something...the other two aren't reacting. He looks confused before he hears a rising growl and he looks at the fox in his hand and realizes they did a bait and switch as the fox goes from an orange coloration to a pitch black in fur and tries to swing at him with their claws. He avoids the swing and throws the black fox at Tails who catches Frenzy.
"Well, that didn't work." growled Frenzy as his purple eyes gained some red.
"Calm down, we don't need you going berserk yet." said Tails calmly.
"I know, just disappointed that didn't work." replied Frenzy as he deployed the blaster on one of his gauntlets.
TD teleports in next to Frenzy and maintains his doll form.
"Well, I'm not trying that." said TD calmly as he hovered in place.
"That doesn't mean I won't!" yelled Neo-Shard as he appeared behind the possessed Sonic catching him off-guard as the metal Sonic delivers a hard left hook to the hedgehog's face stagger him. Neo-Shard goes for a right hook but Mephiles catches it.
"Worthless machine." growls Mephiles before he creates a ball of purple-black fire in his free hand...
Meanwhile, with Snively, 500 feet below the old fortress...
Snively exits the elevator and slowly walks over to a terminal and begins putting data into it. He stops when he begins hearing footsteps echo through the room. He draws a laser pistol while quickling spinning around and shooting the source of the footsteps through the heart. The figure drops to the ground from the shot and Snively watches it for a moment before he turns back to his work.
"You know..." came Eggman's voice causing Snively to freeze, as he had just put a laser bolt through his heart, he should be dead! He slowly turns around to see the figure getting up before he steps out of the shadows and into the light.

"That WOULD have worked, if I hadn't upgraded myself after my own death years ago." said Eggman as he took off his broken glasses and Snively froze for a moment. The future version of his uncle was missing half his face, the left side, revealing robotics underneath and a good sized chunk of shrapnel was lodged in his head just above his right eyebrow. The spot the laser had hit was burned completely through, showing that he had done damage but it was pointless.
"You're not human anymore..." squeaked Snively.
"Of course I'm not! I died years and years ago! I downloaded myself into a robotic body and upgraded it throughout the years! How do you think I stayed so young looking despite my age?"
"But I shot your heart!"
"No, you shot a power core and unlike Tails, I have several. I will admit though, you caught me off guard. If I hadn't shut my nerves off when the Egg Paladin exploded, I'm pretty sure I'd be trapped in the debris still."
"And what is this then? Trying to kill me yourself?"
Eggman laughs.
"No Snively. I'm here to give you a lecture about how you doomed us all by bringing Mephiles in as an ally."
"I'd like to see you try old man!" snapped Snively as he activated his hidden exo-armor and swung what was effectively a power fist at Eggman only for it to be caught by the former mad scientist's pointer finger and thumb.
"Seems you're not listening. Allow me to teach you a lesson here." said Eggman before he grabbed the wrist of the exo-arm and ripped it off, exposing Snively normal arm and causing him to stagger back in surprise before he was grabbed by the exo-leg and slammed to the ground hard enough that he felt his spine dislocate in several places and the ground around him to crumble apart. He tried to get up but found that the exo-armor was done for from that one slam. He then felt something wet touch his mouth and he slowly opened his eyes, or the one he could anyway as half his face was buried in the ground and he could see, and feel, that his nose was quite broken and bleeding heavily. How did he not have his face caved in from that impact? He yelped in pain as Eggman put a foot down on his back, the metal covering him groaning under the pressure.
"Now, Snively..." said Eggman sternly as he glared down at his nephew from the past and said nephew slowly looked up at him, "You're going to listen to my words and you're going to see how badly you messed up, whether you want to or not."
Snively's eye widens as one of his future uncle's eyes slowly changes its appearance.
