A/N: Slight trigger warning for possible homophobia. Lorelei is not involved in the events of the episode. I just couldn't come up with a way that wouldn't have Hank going, what the hell are you doing here. I do plan to have Lorelei and Carly meet though. I thought Lorelei could be a great mentor for Carly. I do have a nice little surprise at the end for you.
The next couple of days were relatively uneventful. Kelly was gone. The FBI was no longer asking questions. Juliette was still in the hospital and still couldn't remember Nick. However, according to Nick, Juliette seemed to remember everyone else except for Nick, including Monroe who she had only met a few times. Lorelei had gone to the hospital to visit Juliette, finding herself surprised that Juliette did remember her.
"And you don't remember Nick at all?" Lorelei asked.
Juliette shook her head, glancing at the laptop in front of her containing photos of her and Nick. "Do you remember that he is my brother?"
Juliette looked surprised. "I remember that you have a brother. Nick is your brother?"
Lorelei nodded. "Yeah, that's how we met. Through Nick."
Juliette stared off into the distance, seeming to be trying to recall something, but ended up shaking her head. "I am drawing a blank. You're the smarty pants? Why do you think this is happening?"
Lorelei shrugged, shifting in her seat. "I really have no idea. It doesn't make sense. I've never heard of someone forgetting just one person. Usually amnesia isn't that specific."
Juliette sighed, before closing the laptop. "How's things with Katie?" she asked, changing the subject.
Lorelei looked down. "Um, well, we actually broke up."
Juliette gasped. "What? But you guys seemed happy. What happened?"
"Well, she actually met her soulmate." Lorelei told her.
"Oh, uh, well good for her. Not so much for you."
Lorelei smiled. "On the plus side, I did end the relationship with some friends my own age. I've been receiving messages from Katie's friends letting me know they are there for me. One gave me the impression he wouldn't mind getting to know me better."
Juliette laughed. "That is a plus side, I suppose. What about that older guy? You still talking to him?"
Lorelei nodded, a small smile on her face at the mention of Sean. "Yeah, we're still talking. I'm actually meeting up with him for dinner tonight."
"Oooh." Juliette said, wiggling her eyebrows.
"Stop that. It's not like that."
"Uh huh." Juliette said, obviously not buying it.
Eventually, Lorelei had to leave. She had to meet with her advisor to finalise which classes she would be taking in the upcoming school year. As she was heading through the main quad back to her car after her meeting, she was surprised to run into Melody, Katie's soulmate. "Hi." Lorelei said.
Melody looked a little cautious. "Hi." There was moment of silence, before Melody started apologising for stealing Lorelei's girlfriend. Lorelei assured her there was no stealing. She and Katie were soulmates, they were meant to be together. As they were speaking, Lorelei noticed Melody glanced behind her and groan. Lorelei glanced over her shoulder and saw a guy standing a few feet away, glaring at Melody.
"Who's that?" Lorelei asked.
Melody sighed. "My ex. He is not taking things as well as you. He keeps calling me and following me."
Lorelei glanced at him again. "Is he wesen?"
Melody nodded. "He's a fuschbau, like me."
Lorelei looked at her, a slight smirk on her face. "Want me to threaten him? Let him know you and Katie have a Grimm in your corner."
Melody looked surprised. "Oh, I couldn't ask you to do that."
"I'm offering." Lorelei said, before walking towards the guy. "Hey, you."
"What do you want?" He asked, giving Lorelei a dirty look. "And why are you being so nice to her? Didn't she shack up with your girlfriend?"
"They're soulmates. They were always going to end up together. We were placeholders. As were they for us." Lorelei told him.
"It's wrong. They shouldn't be together." Lorelei wasn't sure if he was being homophobic or seemed disgusted by the idea of an eisbiber and a fuschbau being soulmates.
Lorelei stepped closer to him, lowering her voice. "Now listen here, I know about wesen, I know you're a fuschbau, so is Melody and Katie is an eisbiber. I'm also a Grimm." His eyes widened in fear, and he stumbled back. Lorelei stepped closer to him again. "If you don't leave my friends alone, I'll go full Grimm on you." She said, drawing her finger across her neck, indicating she'd behead him.
He ran off, still looking terrified and Lorelei returned to Melody. "If he gives you anymore trouble, let me know."
Melody looked at her in amazement. "Wow, that was amazing. Thank you."
Lorelei returned home, took Molly down to the dog park before she started getting ready to meet Sean. After her shower she looked threw her closet, trying to decide what to wear. Should she go casual? Lorelei tried on different outfits, but none seemed right. She briefly considered the blue sundress she had intended to wear for their last meet up but decided against it. It just didn't feel right. One dress however, caught her eye. She had bought it months ago however she hadn't had a chance to wear it yet. It was a white sundress with light pink embroidery on the bodice. Lorelei slipped it on, it was a little shorter than she usually liked, falling an inch or so above her knees. The skirt of the dress flared out a bit under her bust. She checked herself out in the mirror. Perfect. Deciding to leave her hair out, she put on some light make up and threw on a pair of low heels. Nothing too fancy.
Sean had let her know he was home and told her to come up around 7. While she was waiting, Nick called her. Hank finally knew. They had been involved in a case; a friend of Hank's daughter had been kidnapped. It turned out they were Coyotl's, and the daughter had been taken by her Mom's family to take part in some kind of mating ritual. She had woged in front of Hank and, naturally freaked out when she realised Nick was a Grimm. Hank seemed to be taking it well, glad that even if he was crazy, he really wasn't alone. Nick was currently on the way to the hospital to pick up Juliette, promising to keep Lorelei updated.
As Lorelei was heading out the door to meet Sean, Hank called her. "Have you spoken to Nick?" he asked.
Lorelei smiled. "Yeah, just got off the phone with him. He, uh, mentioned you were now in the know."
Hank laughed. "That's one way of putting it I suppose."
"I'm sorry I couldn't be more honest with you before. It wasn't just my secret to tell."
"I get it. But thank you, for trying to help. I really do appreciate it."
"You're welcome. I've been there, I know what its like. I was lucky though, my Aunt cleared things up pretty quickly." She said, while waiting for the elevator to arrive.
"When does it start to feel normal?"
Lorelei let out a breath. "Uh, good question. For the most part, it feels normal pretty quickly. But I am still being surprised, even now."
The elevator arrived and Lorelei stepped in. "Good to know." Hank said. "You just getting home?"
"No, I'm on my way out. Meeting with a friend for dinner."
"Alright, well, I will leave you to that. Have a goodnight, Lorelei."
Lorelei slipped her phone into her purse and waited for the elevator to reach Sean's floor. She exited and walked to his door, feeling a little nervous but also excited. After she knocked, it didn't take long for Sean to answer.
"Lorelei, please, come in." He said, standing aside to let her in.
The pair walked further into his apartment, towards the kitchen. "It's looking a lot better than last time I was here." Lorelei commented.
Sean glanced around before smiling. "I suppose it does. I apologise for Kimura ruining our plans."
"Its not your fault some psycho broke into your apartment and beat the crap out of you." Lorelei said, as Sean gestured for her to take a seat in one of the stools near the island, while he moved towards the stove.
"That is true." He replied, stirring one pot before picking another up and moving to sink. It looked like from Lorelei's perspective. Sean left it draining in the sink before turning back to Lorelei. "Can I get you a drink?"
"Yes please. I'm happy with anything." She told him.
Sean grabbed a bottle of what looked like red wine from the counter and filled a glass up before handing it to Lorelei. "Now, no smartass comment."
Lorelei took the glass with one hand, while holding the other up in defence. "I would never."
He gave her a look and she smiled innocently up at him as she took a sip. "How's Juliette? I heard she woke up." Sean queried, as he started plating up the food. Spaghetti bolognaise.
"Yeah, she's doing alright. She's actually going home tonight. It's just that…" Lorelei trailed off.
Sean glanced up at her. "Just what?"
Lorelei sighed. "It's weird. She seems to have some kind of amnesia, only, the only thing she has forgotten…is Nick."
Sean gave her a weird look, pausing his movements. "What do you mean?"
"Just that. Juliette has no idea who Nick is. She knows me, she knows I have a brother. But she didn't know that Nick is my brother."
Sean seemed to be contemplating something. "That is strange. What do the doctors say?"
Lorelei shrugged. "That it could be temporary. A side effect of whatever virus or infection she had."
"And how is Nick handling it?"
Lorelei shrugged again. "He's not one to really overshare. I know it's hurting him though."
Sean nodded and continued putting their dinner together. Lorelei helped him move the food over to his kitchen table. He helped Lorelei into her chair, before taking his own turned on some music.
"This is good. I'm a little surprised you know how to cook." Lorelei commented.
Sean raised an eyebrow. "I'm a bachelor, of course I know how to cook." He joked.
"Not all bachelor's can cook. Before Nick dated Juliette, he wasn't the best cook. Neither was Aunt Marie for that matter. I guess all the cooking talent in that house went to me." Lorelei chuckled and Sean joined her.
After dinner, Sean brought out a tiramisu. "I will be honest; I did not make this." He admitted it. "But I did pick it up from the restaurant we ate at after Pittock Mansion."
As they tucked in to dessert, Sean asked how Lorelei was going with the breakup. "Honestly, I'm ok. Sure, I was little hurt. That's to be expected, but Katie found her soulmate, so how can I begrudge her that." Sean nodded. "I actually ran into her soulmate, Melody today at school. She kept apologising. But I assured her I had no ill will. And then I threatened her ex-boyfriend."
Sean raised an eyebrow. "Really."
Lorelei shrugged. "Apparently, he is not taking their breakup very well. He keeps calling her and following her around. I'm not sure if he's homophobic or just an asshole. But I scared the shit out of him, and he ran away." Sean was little sceptical. "Hey, don't think that just because I am small and cute doesn't mean that I can't be threatening. Or cause some serious damage. Especially if you mess with my friends and family."
Sean nodded. "I'll take your word for it."
Once they were done eating, Lorelei tried to help Sean clean up, but he ushered her away, putting the dishes in the dishwasher. They sat down on his sofa, wine glasses in hand as they continued talking. "I am actually a little jealous." Sean glanced at her. "Finding their soulmates. I've never given it a lot of thought before, but I guess because I am getting older, I am starting to think about my own. Where they are? What are they like? You know…" Sean nodded, seeming to be in deep thought. "Have you found yours yet Sean?"
Sean slowly put his glass down on the coffee table, before turning to face Lorelei fully. "I have." He said slowly and Lorelei felt her heart drop a little. He seemed to be contemplating his next words carefully. Sean glanced away for a moment and took a deep breath before looking Lorelei in the eye. "It's you. You are my soulmate, Lorelei."
A/N: I'm sorry for cutting it off there. But it's been a long chapter, and I wanted to do the next part in Sean's POV. I will probably post Chapter 6 pretty soon for those of you who have been waiting for this moment.
