A/N: Lorelei and Sean's relationship takes a small step in a new direction. It's a lame chapter title, but coming up with titles is not my strong suit. However there is some spiciness later on.

The past few days had been hard, particularly after he had ingested that potion. It was perhaps the worst experience of his life. The pain had lasted for longer than he had expected. However, it had been worth it. Burkhardt's girlfriend was awake. Sean didn't have to worry about the Grimm leaving Portland, for now at least. That didn't mean that Sean was worry-free. He still found himself wondering who the third Grimm Kimura had referred to was. Plus, Catherine Schade had turned up dead. And he was still bothered by what Eric had said about Lorelei. There was no way he was letting his brother get his hands on his soulmate.

Sean's patience was starting to run out. He didn't know how much longer he could wait to claim his soulmate. Her eisbiber was out of the picture now. Sean was still determined to give Lorelei some time to get over it before swooping in. He didn't want to wait for long however, no doubt there were others waiting in the wings. However, Lorelei seemed to be in better spirits when he called to invite her over for dinner. Perhaps she would be over it sooner than expected. He hurried home after work to get dinner ready, making a slight detour to pick up dessert.

He had a quick shower and changed. A simple pair of black pants and white collared shirt. He made sure everything was tidied up. Then he started on dinner and setting the table. It didn't take long. Sean was surprised to find he was quite anxious. It felt like a date, not their usual meet ups. And Sean Renard did not get anxious when meeting woman, but this wasn't a regular woman, this was his soulmate the one person the universe had decided was perfect for him.

Dinner was almost ready, he just needed to drain the pasta and plate it up. The salad was ready, as was the garlic bread. When he heard a knock on the door, he felt his anxiety levels rise again. Taking a deep breath, he made his way to the door, checking the peephole before opening the door. God, she was beautiful. She was wearing a short white dress with some kind of pink embroidery at the top, heels, and her hair was out framing her beautiful face. It wasn't lost on him that white symbolised purity and innocence while pink symbolised unconditional love and romance. It seemed very fitting.

"Hi." She said brightly.

"Lorelei, please, come in." He said, standing aside to let her in before escorting her towards the kitchen. "It's looking a lot better than last time I was here." Lorelei commented.

Sean glanced around before smiling. "I suppose it does. I apologise for Kimura ruining our plans."

Sean gestured for her to take a seat in one of the stools near the island, while he moved towards the stove, while Lorelei assured him it wasn't his fault.

He gave the sauce a final stir before draining the pasta and turning back to Lorelei. "Can I get you a drink?"

He provided her with a glass of red wine and remembering her previous comments when provided with alcohol, he remarked. "Now, no smartass comment."

Lorelei took the glass with one hand, while holding the other up in mock defence. "I would never."

He gave her a look and she smiled innocently up at him as she took a sip. "How's Juliette? I heard she woke up." Sean queried, as he started plating up the food.

"Yeah, she's doing alright. She's actually going home tonight. It's just that…" Lorelei trailed off.

Sean glanced up at her. "Just what?" he asked feeling concerned. Was there some kind of side effect Catherine hadn't mentioned?

Lorelei sighed and put her glass down, before looking up at him. "It's weird. She seems to have some kind of amnesia, only the only thing she has forgotten…is Nick."

Sean paused. "What do you mean?"

"Just that. Juliette has no idea who Nick is. She knows me, she knows I have a brother. But she didn't know that Nick is my brother."

Sean had no doubt that this must have been something Adalind had planned, however Catherine had not mentioned something like this happening. "That is strange. What do the doctors say?"

Lorelei shrugged. "That it could be temporary. A side effect of whatever virus or infection she had."

"And how is Nick handling it?"

Lorelei shrugged again. "He's not one to really overshare. I know it's hurting him though."

Sean nodded, still feeling concerned. Something told him there may be more to come. They moved over to the kitchen table, and he helped Lorelei into her chair before taking his own seat.

"This is good. I'm a little surprised you know how to cook."

Sean raised an eyebrow. "I'm a bachelor, of course I know how to cook." He joked.

"Not all bachelor's can cook. Before Nick dated Juliette, he wasn't the best cook. Neither was Aunt Marie for that matter. I guess all the cooking talent in that house went to me." Lorelei chuckled and Sean joined her.

Dinner was followed by dessert, and Sean asked how she was dealing with her recent breakup. Although he was happy, she was single, he didn't want to see her in pain, not if he could avoid it. It was the reason he hadn't threatened the eisbiber himself.

"Honestly, I'm ok. Sure, I was little hurt. That's to be expected, but Katie found her soulmate, so how can I begrudge her that." Sean nodded in understanding. His soulmate was a kind soul, very different from him in that regard. "I actually ran into her soulmate, Melody today at school. She kept apologising. But I assured her I had no ill will. And then I threatened her ex-boyfriend."

Sean raised an eyebrow. "Really." He asked, feeling surprised.

Lorelei shrugged. "Apparently, he is not taking their breakup very well. He keeps calling her and following her around. I'm not sure if he's homophobic or just an asshole. But I scared the shit out of him, and he ran away." Sean looked at her. He wondered if this Melody and her ex were wesen as well. It would explain why she was able to scare him so easily. "Hey, don't think that just because I am small and cute doesn't mean that I can't be threatening. Or cause some serious damage. Especially if you mess with my friends and family."

Sean nodded, trying not think about what she would do if she ever found out what he had done to her aunt and Griffin. "I'll take your word for it." He said, also considering what his brother had said about her taking out those Verrat agents. She certainly seemed to be a force to be reckoned with.

After cleaning up and turning the dishwasher on; and ushering his soulmate away when she tried to help, they were seated together on his sofa.

"I am actually a little jealous." Sean heard her say and glanced at her questioningly. "Finding their soulmates. I've never given it a lot of thought before, but I guess because I am getting older, I am starting to think about my own. Where they are? What are they like? You know…" Sean nodded, wondering if tonight was the night he should tell her. "Have you found yours yet Sean?"

Sean slowly put his glass down on the coffee table, before turning to face Lorelei fully. "I have." He said slowly. Should he tell her? He wondered. Yes, he should. Now was the perfect time. Although Sean was confident about doing so, there was a part of him that still feared rejection. Especially when it came to telling her about his wesen side. Plus, an eisbiber was a bit easier to take than a zauberbiest. Not to mention, she hadn't the best experience with hexenbiest. Sean glanced away for a moment, before deciding that yes, he would tell her that she was his soulmate. And he would go from there. He took a deep breath and looked back at her. "It's you. You are my soulmate, Lorelei."

Lorelei stared at him, her mouth dropping slightly, her eyes fluttering. She was silent for a moment before softly asking, "Are you sure?"

He nodded, shifting slightly to brush his fingers against her bicep, where her soulmark sat. The familiar jolt of electricity still present whenever they touched. This time however, Lorelei didn't hide her reaction. "Yes, I realised it on the first day we met. I saw your mark and knew."

Lorelei's gaze was on her own mark. "I had wondered, but I kept talking myself out of it." She said quietly before returning her gaze to him. "Can I see yours?"

Sean gazed at her for a moment. He was having a hard time distinguishing what her reaction to the news was. He sat back, unbuttoning the cuffs of his shirt, before realising the sleeve wouldn't go up high enough. Before thinking about it too much, he moved his fingers to the buttons covering his chest, quickly undoing them and shifting so his bare arm was visible. Sean couldn't help but smirking a bit when he noticed Lorelei's eyes trailing up and down his chest. Her cheeks turned pink, moreso when she noticed him noticing her reaction. She quickly diverted her gaze to his soulmark. Tentatively, she reached out, gently brushing her fingers against it. "It's a match." She said, moreso to herself, however.

Sean tried to stay focused. Feeling Lorelei's hands on his body was doing things to him. "I'm sorry I didn't mention anything sooner." He said softly. "I wasn't sure how you would react, considering the age difference." Among other things he wasn't going to mention yet. "You've been bonded to an old man." He joked.

Lorelei tutted and swatted his chest, laughing softly. "Oh please, you're hardly old." She said shaking her head.

"I'm older than you."

Lorelei looked up at him. "Does it bother you?"

Sean shook his head. "No, although I have had a lot longer to adjust to the idea. I didn't get my mark until I was in my twenties."

Lorelei nodded in understanding. "I was born with mine. Aunt Marie told me."

"Does it bother you?" Sean asked her. "The age difference."

Lorelei shook her head. "No. I've always been older than my years. It makes sense that my soulmate would match my intellectual and emotional maturity." She paused. "How old are you? Just curious."

"I was born October 21, 1970."

Lorelei nodded slowly. "So you'll be forty-two this coming birthday?"

Sean nodded, before remembering something. "Actually, speaking of birthdays, I still haven't given you your birthday present yet. Wait here."

He got up and quickly retrieved the gift. He returned to find Lorelei in the same spot. Sitting beside her, he handed her the small, wrapped gift box. "You really didn't have to." Lorelei said, taking the box and opening it. "Oh wow, Sean, its beautiful. I love it. Thank you."

She threw her arms around his waist, hugging him tightly before pulling back and asking him to put the beautiful necklace on. Sean had a hard time deciding what to get Lorelei for her birthday. He didn't want to get anything too extravagant, lest she question it. He ended up commissioning a necklace be made for her. It was a pendant containing a ruby, a diamond and a sapphire with a silver chain, as that seemed to be Lorelei's preferred colour. Sean had chosen it for the hidden meaning behind it. The ruby was Lorelei's birth stone; however, they were also associated with romantic love and was said to strengthen physical and emotional love. The sapphire was chosen as its colour reminded Sean of her eyes and was often used to pledge love, symbolise new love and gifted as a sign of commitment. Meanwhile, diamonds were a symbol of purity, innocence, love and fidelity. Even though he and Lorelei were not in a relationship when he commissioned it, he wanted to necklace to have meaning. He wondered how long it would be before Lorelei investigated the meaning of the stones and realised what he was telling her with the necklace.

Lorelei turned her back to him, brushing her hair out of the way as she handed him the necklace, waiting for him to slip it on. He carefully did so, tracing his fingers gently across her neck, trying to calm his breathing. Once the necklace was on, Lorelei pulled away and faced him, looking down at the necklace briefly before looking back up at him again. The beautiful smile was wider than he had ever seen it before.

"I'm glad you like it." He said quietly, wanting nothing more than to pull her into his arms. To kiss her pouty lips and claim her as his. Did she want that as well? He questioned as he saw her gaze drop down to his lips before looking back up.

Sean didn't have much time to think, before Lorelei gently cupped his face and leaned forward, pressing her lips against his, at first tentatively before slowing becoming more passionate. Sean almost groaned with happiness. He has been waiting for this. He slides his arms around Lorelei's waist, pulling her toward him. Lorelei pushes him back a bit before straddling him, her arms coming to wrap around Sean's neck. The kiss continues to heat up, with Lorelei's moans and whimpers causing certain parts of his body to grow. Sean's hand start wandering up and down Lorelei's back, one moving to rest on her bare thigh, her dress starting to ride up.

They pulled apart, breathing heavily as they stare into each other's eyes. Lorelei's eyes were wide and bright, her pouty lips red and swollen. Sean wanted nothing more than to scoop her up and take her to his bed; to feel her body beneath his as he made her his, in every way possible. "Uh, before this goes any further. I should tell you that, um, I haven't exactly gotten around to doing the whole…sex thing yet." Lorelei's face was turning red, but for a different reason this time.

Sean tried to control his breathing as he considered what she had said. She was a virgin. No one had touched her. He would be the only one who would lay with her. He didn't think it was possible to get any harder than he already was, but he was proven wrong. Lorelei opened her mouth to say something else, but Sean dived forward kissing her again. Sean shifted, his lips dancing across Lorelei's cheeks and down to her neck. Lorelei gasped, arching her body further into him, her pelvis grinding against his own causing his hips to buck. Fuck, Sean thought, one hand pressing her lower back while the other had slid under the skirt of her dress sliding further and further up.

Then he felt it. That rush of energy that signalled he was about to woge. No, not now. This was not the way to tell her. And on second thought, this was not how her first time should be. Sean rested his head in the crook of her neck, and took a steadying breath, praying he wouldn't woge. The hand up her dress shifted to her waist, and he wrapped both arms around her waist, holding her tight.

"Sean?" Lorelei asked quietly, one of her hands gently stroking the back of his head.

When he was certain he wouldn't woge, Sean pulled back bringing one of his hands up to cup her face as he looked into her questioning gaze. He leant forward, capturing her lips for another kiss. A gentler, more soft one. Sean could not recall ever kissing anyone like that in his life. But he found himself enjoying it just as much as the passionate ones. Sean felt he could spend the rest of his life simply kissing Lorelei like this.

Eventually, he pulled away although he had both hands cupping her face as he stared at her. He still couldn't believe that she was his. Sean would spend the rest of his life worshipping her and treating her like the queen she was. Lorelei smiled at him, her eyes watching his.

"Why'd you stop?" She asked, although she seemed more curious than anything else.

Sean smiled. "Your first time, our first time, is going to be done right." He kissed her quickly. "But, not tonight."

"Are you sure?" Lorelei asked, her eyes drifting down. "Cause, not all of you seem to be in agreeance."

Sean laughed and nodded. "I'm sure."

After spending some time cuddling (Sean had internally laughed at that, he had never cuddled with anyone before) and talking quietly amongst themselves, Sean sent Lorelei home, promising her would see her again soon. As he closed the door behind her, he glanced down and sighed before heading towards the bathroom to take care of it.

A/N: I hope this was ok. I've not really done much spicy writing in the past and they didn't even go all the way. But yes, finally our favourite couple are together. However, anyone who has seen the show should know that unfortunately it won't always be smooth sailing for them.
