In the tranquil silence of a moonlit night, one year after May's return to the Kingdom of Hoenn, a subtle breeze whispered by the closed window of Aura Guardian Ash's chamber. The young hero lay in peaceful slumber, his form barely stirring beneath the soft covers. Unbeknownst to him, a mysterious intruder, with a mischievous smile adorning her lips, quietly approached his window. With practiced finesse, she deftly manipulated the lock and slipped inside, her movements as silent as the night itself. Her heart danced with anticipation as she made her way to Ash's bedside.
"Mm…" Ash, in the midst of a dream-laden sleep, shifted slightly, his simple bed clothes rustling softly. Sensing his movement, the intruder's smile widened at the sight. With gentle determination, she leaned over him, her breath barely brushing against his cheek as she moved closer. The sensation stirred Ash from his slumber, his eyelids fluttering open groggily to meet the intruder's gaze. Between the sleep grog and the darkness of the room, he couldn't make out the figure in the room with him, and his tiredness made the whole thing feel like a dream.
"Relax…it'll all be over soon." the intruder told him in a gentle and soothing voice. Her voice seemed to do just the trick as it lulled the Aura Guardian back to sleep. Emboldened by his response, the intruder crawled under the covers beside him, her movements graceful and fluid. She wrapped her arms around him, held him tightly in the night, eager to complete her devious plans.
As the morning sun timidly peeked through the curtains, Ash stirred from his slumber, his eyes fluttering open to the soft glow of dawn. Beside him, the intruder shifted, her leg unconsciously brushing against his in the early light. As the sleep fog cleared from his eyes, he looked down and was surprised to see none other than his rival turned lover, and ninja turned Princess, May laying asleep in his arms with her own arms wrapped around his torso under his blankets. Ash sighed to himself, not knowing why the idea of her breaking into his room and slipping into bed with him still surprised him at this point. With an amused smile gracing his lips, he leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to her forehead, coaxing her from her dreams as her eyes opened with a gentle grace.
"Good morning, my dear Aura Boy," she murmured softly, her voice a sweet melody in the tranquil morning air.
"Good morning Ninja Girl," he replied. Snuggling closer to her, he continued with a contented sigh, his arms instinctively wrapping around her in a warm embrace.
"This is a very nice way to wake up." she teased.
"As good as someone breaking into my room AGAIN can be I suppose." he countered with a soft chuckle.
"Oh shush." May's laughter bubbled quietly as she returned his affectionate teasing with a kiss on the lips, her heart dancing with joy at their intimate connection. He returned the kiss and held her closer. Their kisses grew more eager, a playful dance of lips and tongues that spoke volumes of their love and desire. Moans of pleasure escaped their lips as they surrendered to the intoxicating passion that ignited between them, their bodies intertwining in a fiery embrace until they were finally forced to break apart for air.
"I dreamed about you," he confessed softly, a blush tinting his cheeks as he recalled the vivid images that had filled his slumber. May's smile widened at his words, her curiosity piqued.
"Tell me about it," she urged gently, her fingers tenderly stroking his hair as she listened intently to his tale. Blushing even deeper, Ash hesitated, his mind wrestling with the implications of his dream.
"Well... it started a lot like this," he began, his voice trailing off uncertainly as he recounted the tantalizing details of his nocturnal fantasy. May giggled at his retelling, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"I like it so far," she teased, her fingers tracing patterns on his bare chest as she leaned in closer. But as Ash hesitated, his words faltering.
"I...don't think I should share where it went with the Princess…" he commented, trying to worm his way out of telling her the very embarrassing and telling dream he had.
"I think you absolutely must." she giggled.
"I…I don't want to get in trouble for it…" Ash desperately tried to squirm.
"My love, we've been together like this for almost a year now," she reminded him gently, her fingers entertwining themselves in his hair as she spoke. "And I don't think I've made it any secret that I want to take the next step."
"I won't say I don't find telling the dragon girl I had those kinds of dreams about her intimidating," he admitted sheepishly, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. But he couldn't deny the truth in May's words. "But I'm slightly more worried about the king and queen."
"You have no need to be. They know what we are to each other." May chuckled softly at his concerns. "There's a reason they check here when I'm not in my room, my love," she reassured him, her fingers tenderly caressing his cheek.
"Yeah yeah…" Ash sighed as he shut his eyes, trying to compose himself. However, as he did, his hand brushed against May's body and a realization suddenly hit him like a slap in the face. "...You're in your underwear right now aren't you..?!" he gasped, opening his eyes in alarm.
"Yes. Yes, I am," she stated proudly.
"Maaaaay..!" Ash complained, his face bright red with embarrassment. May laughed happily as Ash tried to form a coherent sentence in response to her actions. A playful glint danced in May's eyes as she leaned in closer, her breath warm against his ear.
"Well, I can't very well properly show you my new dress if I don't get to put it on for you, now can I?" she teased, her voice laced with mischief. Ash's eyes widened in surprise, his cheeks flushing even deeper at the realization of the possibility that not everything he experienced in the night was a dream. Not to mention their intimate proximity.
"Wait... how much of last night was real and how much was a dream?" he stammered, his heart racing with uncertainty. May's laughter filled the room, her joy contagious as she leaned in to press a gentle kiss to his lips.
"It's more fun to let you guess," she teased, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Maaaaaay…" he begged. As Ash struggled to make sense of the blurred lines between dream and reality, May's smile softened with affection and she finally gave him a straight answer to alleviate his anxiety.
"I joined you in bed for the night," she confessed, her voice gentle and reassuring. "Anything dirtier than that was a dream and I want to hear all about it."
"Fine…" he sighed as relief flooded through his body. "You know sometimes I'd prefer you tied me to a tree and pushed me off a cliff again rather than these guessing games," he joked, his laughter mingling with hers in the early morning light. May's laughter faded into a tender smile as she reached out to cup his cheek in her hand.
"I will let you off the hook from more teasing this morning if I get an 'I love you' followed by a kiss," she whispered softly, her eyes filled with warmth and affection. Ash's heart swelled with emotion as he gazed into May's eyes, his love for her shining bright and true despite their playful banter.
"May, I love you," he confessed earnestly, his voice filled with sincerity and devotion. He then leaned and pressed his lips to her's, their kiss a sweet symphony of love and longing. In that moment, as they lost themselves in each other's embrace, time seemed to stand still. The warmth between them grew as Ash continued to hold her close, their connection deepening with every passing moment. May's moans, filled with happiness, intertwined with Ash's surprise as their bodies pressed together. Her fingers ran down his neck, sending shivers through his frame, and the intensity of their shared pleasure echoed in the room. As May's hands continued their exploration, Ash, lost in the sensations, moaned louder, unable to hide his physical response to her. The atmosphere crackled with desire as May parted their lips to whisper in his ear.
"It doesn't have to be just a dream, you know." Blushing even more intensely, Ash gazed at May, who, with a teasing smile, allowed her bra strap to slip down her shoulder. The room was charged with anticipation as she kissed him hungrily, her hand moving into his shorts.
"May…!" Ash gasped with a high-pitched exclamation, showing he couldn't contain his reactions. May, reveling in the intensity of the moment, continued to explore his body with a mix of playfulness and desire. Their intimate dance was a blend of whispered confessions and shared pleasures. As May teased him and Ash surrendered to the sensations, the boundaries between dream and reality blurred, leaving only the undeniable truth of their love that pulsed between them.
The air in the room hung heavy with the aftermath of their passion as Ash and May caught their breath. With a contented smile, May gazed at Ash, her eyes shining with satisfaction.
"Now that... was far better than any dream," she remarked, her voice tinged with a hint of playfulness. Ash, still catching his breath, grinned back at her, his cheeks flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and pleasure.
"Heh," he managed to reply, his voice a little breathless. With a mischievous glint in her eye, May teased him gently.
"How does it compare to your dreams...?" she inquired, her smile widening as she awaited his response. Ash's grin widened as he looked at her, his eyes filled with affection.
"Better," he admitted simply, his voice filled with sincerity. May's smile grew even brighter at his words.
"Yay," she exclaimed softly, leaning in to peck his lips affectionately. As they lay there, basking in the afterglow of their intimacy, May finally turned her attention to other matters. "Can I finally show you my new dress?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Ash's blush deepened at the reminder, but he nodded eagerly.
"Oh... right," he murmured, feeling a surge of anticipation.
"It won't compare to my look right now I'm sure, but I still think you'll like it." May teased him gently with a playful smile.
"Maaaaay…" he reminded her of her promise before about the teasing.
"Right sorry. You're just so cute when you're embarrassed," she remarked, slipping out of bed as Ash took a deep breath, trying to compose himself. She disappeared into the bathroom to freshen up and get dressed. Moments later, she emerged, fully dolled up in her new dress, and Ash's breath caught in his throat at the sight of her.
"Whoa," he breathed, his eyes wide with admiration. The dress was a red, black, and orange two-piece dress that left part of her waist exposed. The skirt was shorter, ending just above her knees, and had two layers of fabric to create a curtain-like design. The top half had a gem in the center of the chest and a few patterns etched around it, along with winged shoulders that matched the wristbands. There was a flaming style barrette pinned in her hair, which was also styled in pigtails, and the shoes were classic Mary Jane style with an ankle strap. May smiled and twirled around, her dress swirling around her in a graceful motion.
"What do you think? Princessy enough, but still like... me?" she asked, her voice filled with anticipation. Ash nodded enthusiastically, his smile mirroring hers.
"Absolutely!" he exclaimed, feeling a surge of pride at her beauty. With a pleased smile, May leaned in to peck his lips affectionately.
"Aw. Thank you," she murmured, her eyes shining with happiness. "That just leaves a few more opinions to get," she remarked, her smile turning mischievous.
"Sounds like you," he remarked.
"Yeah yeah." she smiled back. "You wanna come with me to the caves today?"
"Eh...someone's gotta protect you right?" he replied, giving a nervous chuckle with a sweatdrop.
"They're not going to hurt me Ash. You really need to stop being so scared of them." May giggled.
"I-I'm not afraid…" he stammered.
"Mmhm." she teased, and gave him a sly smile.
"I'm not..!" he protested, more firmly this time.
"Great so you'll come and say hi!" she grinned, making Ash suddenly realize what he just agreed to.
"Uh...I…"
"This'll be so great! I haven't gotten to spend time with all four of you in forever!"
"Wait..!"
"How about a quick breakfast and we head out?" she offered. Ash gulped as he tried to think of a way out, but he couldn't come up with one before May spoke again. "I'll take that as a yes."
"Oh man…" he sighed, giving up for now.
"I love you," May whispered, her voice filled with warmth and affection. Ash's heart skipped a beat at her words, his love for her swelling within him.
"Do you...? Sometimes I wonder with the teasing" he began to tease her back, only to be interrupted as May pushed him onto his back and straddled him playfully.
"I could prove it again if you want," she joked, her eyes twinkling with mischief. Chuckling nervously, Ash shook his head.
"Not necessary..." he stammered, feeling his cheeks flush with embarrassment. May laughed at his reaction before climbing off him with a smile
"Then we try again. I love you," she repeated, her voice filled with sincerity.
"I love you too," he confessed, his voice soft and tender. With a final smile, May climbed out of the window, leaving Ash alone in the room with his thoughts. Taking a deep breath, he prepared himself for the day ahead.
May's steps echoed down the hall as she made her way to her sister's room, her heart racing with anticipation. With a gentle knock, she waited for Janine to answer, her smile brightening as the door swung open.
"Good morning," May greeted her sister, a twirl in her dress showcasing her excitement. "What do you think?" Janine's expression softened as she took in May's appearance.
"Charming," she remarked with a small smile.
"Thank you." May beamed at the compliment before her expression turned serious. "Now for some real sister talk. I've just got to talk to you," she said, her tone earnest. Janine raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
"Oh yeah?" she replied, stepping aside to let May into the room.
"Can we talk in private?" May asked, her voice dropping to a hushed tone as she entered. Janine nodded, closing the door behind them.
"About?" she inquired, her curiosity piqued. May took a deep breath before speaking.
"Any word recently from... 'Father'?" she asked, her voice tinged with apprehension. Janine's expression darkened slightly as she shook her head.
"None that I've heard," she replied, her voice filled with reassurance. May let out a sigh of relief, her shoulders relaxing visibly.
"Good... glad to know he's not that stupid," she muttered under her breath. Janine offered a sympathetic smile, placing a comforting hand on May's back.
"Of course, you never know for sure," she remarked with a shrug. May's expression hardened with determination.
"He better not, or I swear..." she trailed off, her voice laced with a steely resolve.
"Even if he did, he and the village were in shambles when I left. It'll take a lot longer than a year for them to regroup enough for an attack if they ever try to," Janine reassured her, patting her back gently. May nodded in understanding, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
"I guess you're right," she conceded, her voice tinged with relief. "So what's on your agenda for the day?" Janine shrugged nonchalantly.
"Don't know yet," she admitted with a casual air.
"I'm headed to the caves with Ash for a visit. You're more than welcome to join us," May offered, her tone inviting. But Janine declined with a shake of her head.
"You go on without me. I'm sure you're looking to resume your fun uninterrupted," she replied, a hint of amusement in her voice. May chuckled at the suggestion.
"I'd never do such a thing in front of the dragons. I mean, geeze, how rude would that be?" she teased, her smile playful. "Maybe we can hang out later though?" May suggested, giving Janine one more hug before stepping back.
"We'll see," Janine replied, her tone noncommittal.
"Alright. Love you."
"I love you too." With that said, May turned to leave, her footsteps echoing down the hallway as she headed towards the dining hall for breakfast. Janine watched her go with a smile before returning to her room.
A few minutes later, in the castle's dining hall, Caroline's warm smile greeted May as she entered the dining room, her eyes lighting up at the sight of her daughter.
"Good morning, May," she greeted, her voice filled with motherly affection.
"Morning, Mom," May replied, returning the smile as she took a seat at the table. Caroline's gaze lingered on May's outfit, admiration evident in her expression.
"You look absolutely lovely," she remarked, her tone filled with genuine appreciation. May nodded in agreement, acknowledging the compliment.
"Dawn certainly knows how to outdo herself," she replied, a hint of pride in her voice. Norman, May's father, chimed in with a smile.
"I agree. She knows her stuff," he added, his voice filled with approval. May's stomach rumbled at the mention of breakfast, and she grinned eagerly.
"Breakfast is smelling just as good," she commented, her anticipation evident.
"Yes, they're preparing a full omelet breakfast this morning," Caroline nodded in agreement.
"Awesome!" May exclaimed, her excitement evident as she eagerly awaited the meal. Norman observed May's cheerful demeanor with a smile.
"You're in an awfully good mood, aren't you?" he remarked, his tone filled with amusement. May nodded enthusiastically, her smile widening.
"Well, I got to spend my morning chatting with Ash and Janine and showing off my new outfit. And after a delicious breakfast, I'm going to go down into the caves for a visit. Sounds like a good day to me," she explained, her voice filled with excitement. Norman nodded in understanding, his smile growing at May's enthusiasm. Caroline's expression softened with concern as she spoke.
"Just be careful when you go to the caves, dear," she cautioned, her maternal instincts kicking in. May waved off their worries with a reassuring smile.
"Relax, you guys. They're not dangerous anymore. They're actually quite cuddly," she reassured them, her confidence unwavering. Norman exchanged a glance with Caroline, a small sweatdrop forming on his brow.
"That's the part that concerns me," he admitted, his tone tinged with unease. May's brows furrowed in confusion.
"Why?" she asked, genuinely puzzled by their reaction.
"I know they've opened up to you since your return, but they are still dangerous dragons. And we don't want to lose you again," he replied, his voice gentle yet firm. Caroline echoed his sentiments with a reassuring smile.
"We just want you safe, is all," she added, her tone filled with maternal concern. May nodded in understanding, her smile reassuring.
"Everything will be fine. Promise," she assured them, her voice filled with conviction. Just then, Max, May's younger brother, entered the room, chasing after his pet Poochyena.
"Come back!" he yelled as he attempted to grab the little pup. But the Bite Pokemon was able to easily dodge the grab and keep going.
"Morning, Max. Need some help?" May offered, her voice playful as she watched the scene unfold.
"Yeah…" Max nodded breathlessly, his gaze fixed on Poochyena as he panted from the chase. With a swift movement, May leaped into action, using a support beam on the ceiling to swing forward and intercept Poochyena's path, much to Max's surprise.
"Gotcha!" May exclaimed triumphantly as she scooped up the playful Pokémon, earning a grateful smile from Max. Poochyena huffed in annoyance, clearly unimpressed with being caught mid-game. May handed Poochyena back to Max with a smile, her playful demeanor shining through.
"Thanks, May."
"No worries," she assured him. Max accepted Poochyena with a nod of thanks, his smile widening as he watched his sister. May turned back to the table just in time to see the chef bringing out the food, and she grinned in anticipation.
"Thanks so much," May expressed her gratitude as the chef bowed respectfully.
"My pleasure, your Majesties and Highnesses," the chef replied with a warm smile. As they gathered around the table, the aroma of breakfast filled the air as Ash entered the dining hall, his eyes still heavy with sleep. He rubbed his eyes tiredly, blinking a few times to clear his vision.
"Alright, I'm here," he announced, his voice groggy as he glanced around the room.
"Hey, Ash!" May exclaimed, springing up from her seat to embrace him in a tight hug.
"Ack!" Ash yelped in surprise as May's sudden embrace caught him off guard. May giggled at his reaction before planting a kiss on his cheek.
"Sorry, couldn't resist," she teased, her smile playful as she leaned in for another kiss. Blushing shyly, Ash returned her kiss, his arms hesitantly wrapping around her as he leaned into the embrace. As they held each other close, May's soft moan of contentment filled the air, the sound drawing an exasperated sigh from Max, who had been observing the exchange.
"Ugh... Do you have to do that here? Can't you just get married already and take it on your honeymoon?" Max grumbled, his tone laced with annoyance. May pulled away from Ash with a mischievous grin, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
"I'm game if you are," she teased, her voice filled with playful 's face turned as red as the blush on May's dress as he struggled to find his words. May giggled at his flustered reaction before taking his hand and leading him to the chair next to hers. "Come on, let's eat," she suggested, her tone cheerful as she happily dug into her breakfast. Caroline, May's mother, smiled warmly as she watched the scene unfold.
"We're very happy you could join us today, Ash," she remarked, her voice filled with genuine warmth.
"Th-Thank you, Your Highness…" Ash nodded shyly in response, his cheeks still flushed with embarrassment from the earlier comments. Everyone took their seats and began to eat before engaging in conversation.
"So, Ash, how's your mom doing?" she inquired, her tone gentle.
"She's doing great," Ash replied, his voice still a little shaky as he tried to compose himself.
"I'm so glad to hear that," Caroline responded, her smile brightening at the news.
"We were just there the other day. All the flowers in the garden are in full bloom, and it's just gorgeous," May chimed in, eager to share her recent visit, her voice filled with excitement. Ash nodded in agreement, his gaze focused on his plate as he tried to hide his nerves. Norman interjected with a question that caught Ash off guard.
"Actually, since Max brought it up... What's stopping you from marrying her?" he asked, his tone curious yet firm. Ash blushed furiously, his mind racing as he struggled to find an answer. May looked at Ash expectantly, her own curiosity piqued by her father's question.
"I-I... Well... I mean... I... wouldn't... be opposed..." Ash stammered, his words trailing off as he avoided eye contact. May's smile widened at his admission, her heart swelling with affection. Caroline and Norman exchanged a glance, their expressions softening with understanding.
"We'd love to have you in the family," Caroline reassured him, her voice filled with warmth. Ash hid his face in embarrassment as May leaned over to kiss his cheek, eliciting a small squeak from him. Despite his embarrassment, Ash managed to give a sheepish smile in return, his heart filled with gratitude for the acceptance of May's family.
"No misgivings about someone like me joining the royal family..?" he cautiously asked.
"Someone needs to be the responsible one," Norman remarked, his gaze resting on Ash with a knowing look. Caroline nodded in agreement, her smile warm and reassuring.
"Aside from that, you managed to bring our daughter back to us after 16 long years. We're in your debt for that," she added, her voice filled with gratitude. May leaned closer to Ash, resting her head on his shoulder as she squeezed his hand lovingly.
"I wouldn't be here if they did have a problem with it." she reminded him.
"That I believe." Ash sighed softly, cracking a small smile in her direction.
"Isn't it flattering to have a Princess so devoted to you?" she teased, batter her eyelashes.
"I was hoping the teasing would stop...or at least slow down," he commented.
"Then you'd think I've been replaced by an imposter." she pointed out.
"...Dang it. I hate it when you're right…" he groaned, earning a laugh from the rest of the table.
"Besides isn't part of loving someone accepting even the parts you could live without?" she hinted.
"Yeah…yeah I suppose it is." he sighed. "So you really wanna marry me, huh?"
"I do." May nodded softly, her eyes shining with love and sincerity. "That is the next step when you love someone, isn't it?" she replied, her voice gentle yet firm. Ash couldn't help but smile at her words, feeling a sense of reassurance wash over him.
"I feel like there might be some more steps, but... I suppose you're right..." Ash admitted, his voice trailing off as he looked into May's eyes. May squeezed his hand lightly, her touch filled with love and understanding.
"There's no pressure, Ash... When it happens, I want it to be because you want to spend your life with me," she reassured him, her voice filled with tenderness. Ash's smile softened as she looked up at him with all sincerity. "Despite all the teasing... You know I really do love you, right?"
"I do," he replied, his voice filled with emotion, his smile growing as he returned her gaze. May smiled back at him, her eyes shining with happiness as she squeezed his hand lovingly. Caroline's voice broke the moment, her tone filled with warmth and acceptance.
"Well, whatever or whenever you two decide, you're always welcome in this family, Ash," she remarked, her words echoing the sentiments of everyone at the table. Ash nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude and belonging wash over him as he sat surrounded by the warmth and love of May's family.
After finishing their breakfast with her family and taking a short walk out of town, May held Ash's hand tightly as they ventured into the caves, the dim light casting eerie shadows around them. Ash's nervousness was palpable, despite his attempts to conceal it.
"What's wrong?" May asked, noticing Ash's unease. Ash shook his head quickly.
"Nothing," he replied, his voice slightly strained.
"You don't have to be scared of them. They like you," May reassured him, giving his hand a comforting squeeze. Ash nodded, but his anxiety lingered as they ventured further into the depths of the cave. As they entered a cavern, May lit up a small torch on the wall and looked around for the cave's occupants. "Kyurem? You guys here?"
"May…?" a familiar voice called out to her mind. May's eyes lit up with excitement when she spotted Kyurem, laying near the back wall.
"Kyurem!" she cheered as she ran over and hugged him around the neck.
"Visit…?" he asked.
"Of course! I've missed you!" she giggled. Cracking a small smile, Kyurem nuzzled her weakly with his large head.
"Missed...you..." he answered. But his answer finally seemed to catch her attention as she noticed something off about the draconic Pokémon. She raised an eyebrow and pulled away from the hug, looking at him with concern.
"Kyurem? Are you okay?" May asked, her voice laced with concern as she watched him. Kyurem stirred from his position, his movements sluggish and lethargic.
"Tired…" he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. May frowned, sensing that something was amiss.
"You sound exhausted," she inquired, her worry growing as her brow furrowed in concern. "Have they been feeding you enough? Is the food still coming?"
"Food still coming…" Kyurem nodded, but his response only deepened May's concern.
"Do Reshiram and Zekrom feel this way too?" she asked, turning to the other legendary Pokémon as they entered the main cavern to see what was going on. May reached out to them telepathically, her mind reaching out for answers. "Are you two okay?" she inquired, her voice filled with concern. Both of them nodded and Zekrom responded for the two of them.
"Only Kyurem," he replied, his voice tinged with concern. May turned back to Kyurem, her worry mounting.
"Can you tell me what's wrong?" she asked gently, her hands cupping his head in a comforting gesture. Kyurem nuzzled her affectionately, but his response was still the same.
"Tired…" he repeated softly. May's heart sank as she realized the severity of the situation. She glanced at Ash, her expression filled with worry.
"Ash, something's wrong with Kyurem," she said, her voice trembling with concern.
"Yeah…?" he replied, his voice skeptical, but still held a hint of concern as he kept his distance from the dragons. "How so…?"
"He's really lethargic...like he doesn't have his usual strength…" she explained. "But I don't think he knows why…"
"Weird…" was all he could think to respond with. He wasn't sure how to help. Quite frankly, he still didn't like that the woman he loved was connected to these monsters at all, but there was little he could do about it. May's mind raced with possibilities as she considered the next course of action.
"Do you know if there are any books on their history in the castle library?" she asked, her voice urgent.
"Maybe," Ash nodded thoughtfully. May turned to Reshiram and Zekrom, her voice pleading.
"Please tell me if he gets worse," she implored, her eyes searching theirs for reassurance.
"We will." Reshiram spoke as Zekrom nodded in agreement.
"Thank you," May said softly, her gratitude evident in her tone. Ash watched the interaction awkwardly, feeling a sense of helplessness wash over him. May stroked Kyurem's head gently, her touch filled with tenderness. "I'll be back," she promised, her voice filled with determination as she rose to her feet. Ash watched May with a furrowed brow, his mind racing with worry and uncertainty.
"May…" he whispered. Sure he didn't like her being around the dragons, but he also never liked seeing her so concerned. And for someone like her, it was a hard thing to achieve. So when it happened, he knew it was serious. May took Ash's hand once more, her grip tight as she led him out of the cave with a brisk pace, her mind already focused on finding answers and solutions to Kyurem's mysterious ailment.
