Jet, like his name, was fast. Even if it required a board for him to go fast. Sonic, like his name, was also fast, but his speed did not require a board, usually. Also like their names Sonic was faster than Jet. Sound waves were faster than Jets. Jet didn't like that, especially when he lost. Sonic didn't seem to care. Winners don't seem to care all that much. Back when Jet was a winner he didn't care as much. So in races now he cares maybe a bit too much.
In the game of love though. It's a different story. Neither of them have a name representative of love or anything even close and Jet considers himself a winner, a big winner. Because he's with Sonic. Someone he loves a bit too much and cares for a bit too much. Especially for someone who's probably supposed to be his rival and someone who he said he hates. Obviously not the case when the two are in a romantic relationship.
Jet, while not happy with what he considered his primary life interest, he is bad at it. As for his secondary interest he considers himself extremely successful at. Both because of the same person. Who ruined and helped make his life what it is today. Maybe even Jet would have it no other way, but that is doubtful. But he'll take what he can get. Doesn't mean he won't complain though about his situation all of the time.
