Yeah, sorry about this being posted so late, I burned through my regular data trying to download ZZZ and well, I just got the night owl stuff, but with the month nearly over, it's not something that will repeat next week.
Well, I almost forgot that Oshi no Ko was a thing. I'm glad that I didn't, as the 3 episodes I've watched are as engaging and informative on Japanese entertainment as last season was, though Aqua could stand to loosen up as sure, finding your mother's true killer is essential. Still, she wouldn't want him to miss out on life like she did. Especially that opening, as it's a straight banger, even if not that or MHA, this season is jam-packed with stuff, and I'm still trying to catch up with the older stuff like Dr. Stone and Vinland Saga.
Chapter 31: Sports Festival Spectacle
With an hour given for the students to freshen up, use the bathroom, and eat their lunch, most in the crowds had decided to do the same. Dozens of people had rented out stalls for such, as well as running carnival-like games and gift shops, many selling hero-related merchandise.
Even the pros among the spectators decided to do the same, as there was little use just sitting and waiting. In contrast, others grouped together to discuss what they had seen from the students, who was the one to watch come to the finals, and how they could increase their chances of those students picking them when it came time to send in internship offers. Enji Todoroki, more commonly known as the Flame Hero: Endeavour, didn't bother with such, as he walked away from the rest, thinking about the events he had seen so far, and it wouldn't take a genius to tell that the man was unpleased with it.
Other pros that saw him didn't try and speak with him; he was famously a man of few words and little patience for small talk on the best of days, but right now, they could tell from how his flames danced about in irritation that the man was irritated. They didn't know why, as maybe to such weaklings and slackers, his son had performed exceptionally well, but he wasn't judging his masterpiece using the same metrics as the rest. That boy was born to be better than the rest, to surpass, and yet his performance thus far had left much to be desired.
In an event so clearly designed to trim away the pointless fat that was the non-hero course students, Shoto had failed to take first, couldn't even secure 2nd, but instead found himself taking 3rd place. He might have taken first when it came time for the second event. Still, it was less because of his skills and power and more due to the luck of acquiring the younger son of the Iida family to his side and luck as he could have easily lost his stolen 5k headband in that scuffle.
No, he didn't see his son making it to the finals as something to be proud of; he was destined for it, so what he should have done was dominate the competition so entirely that it was apparent to even the dumbest person that he was destined to take first place. Instead, he's made a fool of himself by purposely limiting his power to just half. Endeavour's already imposing frame grew ever more intimidating as his flames flashed, his frown growing deeper as he'd need to remind the boy that he wouldn't tolerate him embarrassing either of them.
But while he wished his son would cease with this pointless teenage rebellious phrase, he thought of another who used his flames like an extension of themselves, as one should with such power. Endeavor was something that sought out talent, and he could admit when he made mistakes, so he wasn't ashamed to say that the Midoriya boy had impressed him. However, his spineless and pathetic athlete pledge implied he was as valuable as a chocolate teapot or robust as a glass hammer.
From how he used his flames in the race to take second place, even confronting his boy and that other one, Bakugo, if he recalled it right. How his team handled themselves in the last event as he could tell that it might have been the general studies boy as a rider, but Midoriya was in command. Because of that, they managed 2nd place, though they could have done better if that hadn't underestimated their opponents, a foolish mistake he hoped the boy wouldn't make again.
'Quite the contrast between them. Shoto hates his flames and thinks he can spite me and prove some fruitless point by not using them, whereas this Midoriya boy seemed to revel in his flames.' He thought to himself.
Then there was the colour of his flames, which reminded him of his sidekicks and raised suspicions that the two were perhaps related, but he dismissed them as quickly as they formed. He had looked into her background when he hired her, and as far as he could recall, she had no relatives related to anyone named 'Midoriya'. More than that, she was loyal and would have surely brought up any possible family that could end up as possible hires.
'But there is something else.' He suspected that most didn't notice it, too busy looking at how powerful he and the rest were, but he hadn't. he saw that the boy wasn't immune to his flames. That attack he used to destroy the 0-pointer nearly burnt his jaw off his body. Such a sight drummed up unwanted memories of another with great potential, incredible potent flames but a body ill-suited for it. He would have thought the principal was truly insane for letting such a student even attempt to be a hero if he hadn't also seen that the boy could rapidly heal from his flame's effects.
'Regardless of an unorthodox approach to dealing with the intense heat and fire his quirk can create, in conjunction with being able to create and somewhat control fire he breaths out, he seems to have impressive control over his quirk and can use it to boast his strength, speed, and durability quite a bit. There is also the bonus of creating smoke clouds to blind or disorientate villains.' Endeavour thought to himself as he continued to walk, turning to go down some stairs on his way to the bathroom.
"If the boy can grow and keep a spine, it would be preferable." He thought aloud, as the boy seemed far too timid and extroverted for his tastes, not to say he hated people that could be like that, just that he liked it when they could control it and be professional as lord knows Burnin could be as intensive and fiery as the fire the two used, even getting it in her head to refer to him as 'Stinky old man' despite his numerous warnings. He didn't want to tolerate something like that as a sidekick, but he would be a fool to turn away such talent and firepower.
"Actually," He paused mid-stride. "Yes, they're both going to the finals, and those flames would be the perfect hard counter to Shoto's ice-exclusive fighting style, and if the boy can heal from his own attacks, that gives him an edge if Shoto tries to be stubborn and turn it into an endurance match," Endeavour spoke, his frown shifting into a smirk as he felt like this was a sign from the heavens. What better way to force his boy to fight fire than with fire?
His boy might be rebellious against him, but if they shared one attribute, it was the desire to win and despise defeat. When faced with either taking his place as his masterpiece or defeat at the hands of another fire user, he was confident that his boy would finally break that stubborn vow of his, if for no other reason than to take the win. In fact, he wished to have the matches organized so that the two would face off in the first round, but unlike when he was a student, U.A. no longer allowed anyone to request matches.
'So you better remain in this fight, Midoriya. Last till you face off against Shoto.' He thought to himself, his smirk growing as his flames curled around his shoulders, his mask of fire dancing on his face in joy at the possibility that today would be the day Shoto finally decided to walk the path of the mighty.
"I'm Glad I managed to catch you, Endeavour. It's been a long time, so see, let's have some tea!" The man paused mid-step; his good mood burned away as he turned to the one person he hated and respected equally.
"All Might." He uttered, his irritation already present, rising as he faced the symbol of peace, the world's strongest hero and the man he had been chasing for that title for over 20 years. Unlike himself, All Might wasn't in costume but wearing a suit, different from the ugly pinstriped yellow abomination he seemed to love.
Time came and went, and the lunch period came to an end as the stands were filled up by the returning spectators and pros, most eager to see what U.A. has prepped for their finals, more so when this particular crop of first years have proved themselves to be of the standard people expected of U.A, which was exceptional.
With the stands mainly filled up, the students themselves, those that came from the teams that had participated in the last round, also returned to the field, still chatting and walking in their groups, though if one looked, some girls of class B and A being particularly cheery about something.
"Alright, folks, now that lunch is over, we can reveal the last games! And to keep the spirits up as this is a sports festival, we even flew in real cheerleaders from the U.S of A!" As the students returned to the field, the previously mentioned cheerleaders were in the middle of their performance. Still, they weren't the only ones drawing attention as the crowds looked to the side in confusion, some having smiles while others were already laughing.
"Huh?" Present Mic noted another group of cheerleaders; wait, he recognized them.
"What the hell are those boys doing?" Vlad asked, and they weren't the only ones looking confused. Many students seemed as puzzled as their teachers, particularly class A boys. Why wouldn't they when they saw the boys of their sister class all dressed in the same cheerleader outfit as the Americans? Of them, Midoriya was standing with a giant smile on his face, though he was still as red as a tomato, while Honenuki could hardly keep a straight face while Tetsutetsu and Monoma were smiling at the crowds, acting like this was completely normal.
"What's the matter, Class B? What kind of fan service is there? You look good in skirts, but that's beside the point!" Present's Mic comment only made Kamakiri glare even harder at nothing, though if he felt angry, he had nothing on Mineta, who looked close to furious tears.
"What the hell? I wanted hot babes, not dudes!" Mineta yelled out, with his partner in crime being just as devastated.
"How'd this even happen?" Kaminari asked, as they had not even approached class B for this.
"Oh, it's a fun story, you two." Both shivered as they could tell how pissed Jiro was. The girl had managed to sneak up on them and grab them both by the neck. And she wasn't alone as with her was a disappointed-looking Yaoyorozu and an absolutely murderous-looking Shiozaki, Kendo, Ashido, and Uraraka, with Asui, Uraraka, and Tsunotori dispassionately watching from the side, the horse girl having her phone out, ready to record their coming punishment.
"So you didn't hear anything about a cheer battle?" Jiro asked one final question, emphasizing that last bit with a bite to her words; her eye started to twitch from anger as Kendo raised her hands to appease whatever the class A student was angry about.
"Is…is that related to the finals or…" She asked the same question that Midoriya had, and that was enough for Jiro to turn around and punch a nearby dividing wall. It didn't matter that she bruised her knuckles on it; she needed an outlet, and sadly, the two things she really wanted to punch weren't within striking distance.
"Oh, those rat-assed perverts! I knew it sounded shady!" She still made her anger known as some others looked her way, wondering what she was pissed off or whatever the guilty party did to anger her, to begin with.
While Yaoyorozu fell to her knees in defeat, leaving a confused Uraraka and Asui to tend to her. At the same time, Jiro raged; Tetsutetsu asked the quiet part out loud. "I'm sorry, but am I the only one lost here?"
"I got no clue what the hell they're talking about, too." Tsunotori nodded in agreement as Jiro took a deep breath and let it out, repeating that a couple of times before she took Midoriya's vacant seat, collapsing into it.
"Two of our classmates, Kaminari and Mineta, came and told us about." From there, she explained the entire thing: how they had nearly been tricked into walking back onto the field, all dressed as cheerleaders, thinking it was for some sort of 'cheer battle'. Once she did, it was fair to say that she wasn't the only one angry with Kaminari and Mineta and sympathetic to them.
"Those delinquents! How dare they spread such falsehoods? As U.A. students, we should be nothing but honest!" Iida shot to his feet, ready to march off and give them a thorough dressing down.
"I can't believe I fell for it, too. I nearly used my quirk to make cheerleader costumes, too." Yaoyorozu bemoaned at how she had let herself be tricked like a child.
"Don't be sad, Yaoyorozu. You just trusted your classmates. It's not your fault they abused that trust." Midoriya, along with Asui and Uraraka, comforted her. However, he would be lying if he said he wasn't thinking of setting their pants on fire for tricking Yaoyorozu and Jiro like that.
"Yeah, and they had to be pretty confident when they told you, as a lie like that only works because, you know, could just have asked Iida about it after the fact because you could always see if they were lying; they figured you wouldn't." Monoma agreed with him, as while he could appreciate such a tactic, he didn't enjoy the target or the intended purpose.
Shiozaki got up as well, her face a storm of rage. "Regardless, it's extremely deplorable that they would not only manipulate your trust like that but to make it worse, it was to indulge in their desire to see you in such clothing. Where are they? I need to ensure they're probably punished."
"Wait a minute, Shiozaki." Midoriya jumped up to block her and Iida from leaving. He didn't know too much about Iida, but he knew Shiozaki and knew that when she was done with both, they'd be hanging by their feet somewhere on campus.
"Midoriya, we know that you're not one for violence, but come on, we need to crack some skulls here." Tokage frowned, as angry as Shiozaki was, but Midoriya shook his head.
"I'm not trying to fight you on that. I just have an idea that would get back at them." He recalled the conversation they were having, and an idea started to form in his head.
"Oh?" Kendo raised an eyebrow.
When Midoriya smiled, his face had a bit bit more bite, and his enlarged fangs showed as smoke escaped his mouth. "Well, they want to see people dressed like cheerleaders, right? So why don't we give them that?"
"You've lost me," Tokage stated as Midoriya bounced on the heels of his feet.
"They wanted to see you girls dressed like cheerleaders, and while we could just not do that and call them out for it later, why don't we…monkey paw's it, I think that's the term, I have to get back to you." He paused near the end, thinking if he was using the term of phrase right.
"Midoriya," Kendo spoke up, dragging back from wherever he would go when he got like that.
"Right, I mean, we grant their wish, but not in the way they expected, as what if the boys were the ones that dressed up in cheerleader stuff? Then, when they're confused about it, you can discipline them." Midoriya suggested, which got some traction as the group thought about it, people like Tsunotori and Tokage being on board for something like that, while Yaoyroozu, Iida, Shiozaki, and Jiro still seemed skeptical.
"Midoriya, they would immediately realize something was off if I tried to bring this up with the boys in my class. Besides, I highly doubt people like Todoroki or Bakugo would go along." Iida replied, but Midoriya shook his head, smiling even wider.
"That's only if we went with the boys of class A, but the guys from class B…" At that, Monoma's eyes flashed, seeing where he was going with this and liking that direction as his smirk grew.
"Oh, I see where you're going with this." The blonde started. Sure, it wouldn't be ideal, but it would be a great way to get extra attention on their class and mess with their rival class—a win-win as far as he was concerned.
"It would make for some good television and sweet revenge." Tokage mused, with Jiro also getting on board, as she couldn't deny that the image of those two idiots being stunned and silent by their stupid plan blowing up in their faces was pretty. Almost as much as it would be when she kicked them both in the balls for nearly tricking her and the rest to act like figures for their perverted fantasies.
"Then it's settled, I'll grab the rest and explain things. Hopefully, we can get them all on board before lunch ends." Monoma got up to track down the rest, some of whom he knew would take some convincing, but he had a feeling that a combination of Izuku's strawberry face, the girls fluttering their eyelashes, and some good old fashion dicking around while messing with class A would be enough to convince even the hardliners.
"And I'll get my extra serving while you do that!" Midoriya cheered as he turned to get to the lunch line.
"It was fortunate that I ran into Midoriya when I did and brought up your little ploy, thinking it was real." Yaoyorozu continued, as they had just explained how Kaminari and Mineta's little ploy had fallen apart to the two, who looked sweaty and pale as they found themselves surrounded by pleased girls, Jiro's grip on their necks so strong they wondered if she had a secret strength quirk.
"You almost got away with it, but now you got your wish, right? Your fellow hero students dressed to the nines like pretty little cheerleaders." Tokage's smile didn't make them feel better; those shark-like teeth and the glint in her eye made them feel like she was a shark and were the pieces of meat about to be thrown at her.
"Or were you expecting that you managed to trick them into acting out your perverted little fantasies, right Kaminari? Mineta?" Kendo cracked her knuckles, one growing large enough that she could grab their heads and squish them like a grape, making both whimper as their glares only got stronger.
"The girls would need to dress up as cheerleaders, you said? That I could run it by Aizawa if I didn't believe you, you said." Yaoyorozu repeated the bold-faced lies that Mineta had shamelessly fed her earlier. Never before had she wanted to smack someone so badly as she did now.
"I can't believe you two to try something like that. Do you value the trust we have as classmates at all?" Kaminari at least has the moral fiber, however, how weak to feel ashamed by her question, lowering his eyes while his shoulders droop, but Mineta remained less ashamed he got and more terrified of what would come from it.
"I'm pretty sure they weren't thinking with their brains but with something else." Jiro's earphone jacks rose up like snakes, floating by their ears and turning towards their eyes, a clear message of violence towards them both.
"Can I cut it off them?" They gulped at how…expressionless Uraraka was when she asked that. It didn't make sense. She was supposed to be super bubbly and cheerful. Where the hell did she get this terminator mode from?! More than that, why did Yaoyorozu look like she was considering it?!
"You can't do that!" Kaminari squeaked back.
"You're right; it'll probably hurt more if I melt it off them." Ashido lifted her hands, gulps of acid forming in them, which she let leak to the floor, after that contact, the droplets sizzled and melted their way deep into the grass-covered field.
"Iida, you heard her, didn't you?" Mineta looked like he was about to soil himself as he looked to the side, where Iida watched this affair go down. Kaminari and the rest also looked at Iida, who kept looking back, the glare of the sun blocking his eyes.
Only for the speedster to turn around. "I saw nothing, I heard nothing." He declared, adjusting his glasses and walking away, leaving the two to their fate.
"Iida!" Mineta whined, as out of all the times Iida decided to not be the rule enforcer, it had to be this one?! That was just cruel. While the girls got back at the two for their attempted trick, Kamakiri looked absolutely done with the entire thing, as he was feeling like a twink dressed like this and could feel the damn breeze on his briefs.
"There, I did it; now, can I go fucking change?" He asked, Midoriya giggling as he bounced over, swinging his pom-poms. Kamakiri not being the only one who found Midoriya in a cheerleader outfit confusing as despite the fact he has defined muscular arms and legs that were clear to all to see with the skirt and sleeveless top, he was still small enough that one could assume he was just an exceptional fit girl, a fact Midoriya knew but didn't really care about, after all, he looked like his mother so of course people would say that.
"Come one, Kamakiri. We haven't even done any cheers yet!" he replied, spinning in place as the taller heteromorph balked.
"I mean…do we have to? I feel dumb dressed like this." Kaibara looked at himself, and while he liked to think he could roll with the punches, this was a bit much.
"All Might dressed like this when he was in America, and it was the funniest and coolest thing ever!" Tetsutetsu, on the other hand, had no issues with their state of dress whatsoever, as he, Midoriya, and Monoma seemed quite comfortable, while Honenuki looked like he was close to losing it.
"Yeah, let's do our best and...help make the mood light-hearted by giving these people a show; Tsunotori did help us with it, after all." The lipless boy tried to sound firm but bent over as he barely kept the laughter in check, which didn't go unnoticed.
"You can't even keep a straight face, Honenuki!" Awase yelled back at him.
"Yeah, let's do this!" Midoriya cheered, shaking his pom-poms excitedly. This was rather odd, as he knew the plan and advocated for it, but Kendo and Asui found it strange that he was gung-ho.
"Midoriya, you like this, huh?" Asui noted, with Midoriya turning to face, his face was still red as a strawberry, but his smile was big and bright.
"Well, not at first, but it looked fun, and I thought, 'why not?' Besides, cheerleaders and heroes make people smile, so they're pretty similar, don't you think?" He explained his reasoning, as Ryukyu and Hado said he shouldn't worry about people's thoughts. So long as what he wished to do was legal and made him happy, he should go for it. And now that he was on the field with the world watching, if he focused on just them, he could move without having to hide from the many cameras to boot!
"You have a very skewed view of things," Kamakiri noted but didn't fight as he reluctantly went along with it.
"But it's not…entirely wrong, and we already agreed to wear the uniforms; we might as well try and make it work, right gentlemen?" Shishida added, looking to the others who didn't look as convinced as they had been earlier, though he suspected it was because many of their female classmates had asked nicely.
"Shishida's got the right idea; we're class B, and when we say we're gonna do something, come hell or high water, we gonna do it, so let's cheer like our hearts depend on it!" Tetsutetsu declared as he threw Midoriya up, and the boy flipped mid-air, landing on his shoulders and striking a pose.
"Well…I did agree cause I thought it would be fun." Awase shrugged while Fukidashi's speech bubble face shifted to show that he was all for it.
"Fine, if nothing else, there's nothing manlier than a guy that can wear a skirt and still be the toughest dude there." Kamakiri smiled, the rest getting ready.
"That's the spirit, alright boys, when we get out time, let's put on the best show ever!" Midoriya raised his hand, still standing on Tetsutetsu's shoulders.
"Yeah!" The rest cheered, which just confused the rest of the students even more, though some did laugh at the sight while waiting for whatever performance they could bring.
"I have to say, I wasn't expecting that. Are you laughing?" Present Mic tried to move on, but his co-host couldn't help himself and started laughing; in the booth, he saw the man falling into his side, and he laughed his heart out. Whatever pain he felt from the rough landing, despite the man still being bandaged up, was not enough to stop him.
"Oh, come on, it's hilarious!" Vlad replied, sounding like he had heard the funniest joke in the world, and he wished for more, as this was the kind of stuff he wanted to see from his students. Sure, training to be a hero was hard work, but unlike Aizawa, he wished for them to have fun doing it. After all, they were still just kids, so why not let them have moments like this and make memories of their high school years they could look back fondly on later?
He wasn't the only one amused by it either as Cementoss coughed into his hand to cover up his laugh, while Midnight didn't bother trying and bent over laughing. Standing back up, she wiped a tear away from her eye. 'Oh, such youthful boys. But that Midoriya should watch out. He's going to break many hearts if he's not careful.' She thought she wouldn't be surprised if a few guys forgot that Midoriya was also a guy, considering how he looked right now, happily conversing with the rest, hopping from one conversation to another.
"Alright, we can give them a chance to show us what they can do later during the recreational games!" Present Mic continued, ignoring how his co-host was still laughing. "And when those are over, the 16 from the four teams that made it through will duke it out in the final round, a tournament-style 1v1!" He finished as the screens changed to show the brackets, though they lacked any names, as the first round of match-ups hadn't been decided.
"One vs one? I can't believe it; after all this time, I'm getting to show off what I can do on the stage I've watched every year since I was 6!" Tetsutetsu cheered, eager for action, along with his counterpart in class A, Kirishima.
"Was it a tournament last year as well?" One of the class A girls asked Ashido if Midoriya recalled her name correctly.
"Nah, it was a chanbara match, but it's always some kind of one-on-one deal." In another class, a student, one of Bakugo's old teammates, the same as Ashido, replied.
"Now, let's draw lots to determine the bracket," Midnight announced through her mic, holding up a box from which they'll draw. "Once that is done, we'll have the recreational games for all those that didn't make it to the finals, though our finalists are free to participate should they so choose!" She explained, with some nodding at that, no doubt planning to use the time to rest or work on strategy once they knew who they'd face off against.
She approached team Todoroki first, as they came first in the last round, and had them pull out their paper slips, working her way down the teams till she got the previous person. With the slips in hand, it was easy and quick for her to get which person was paired up against him, and the info was sent into the system.
"Striking a pose with her whip, she declared. "And the bracket has been decided. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, let's see who will face off against who in their fight to take the gold!" With that statement, the board shifted as the names were added, and the audience and the students looked up to see it.
Monoma vs Shinso
"Wasn't he on Midoriya's team last round?" Monona asked, as he didn't recall facing off against that, which meant he didn't know his quirk.
"I was. I'm looking forward to a good match," Shinso replied, having gotten behind him without him noticing; when he tried to swat at him, the general studies students backed off.
Shishida vs Sato
"A battle of strength." Shishida mused.
"Well, I won't be holding back. Sato nodded his head, the two knowing that their battle would come down more on which was the more creative when it came to their strength, not unless they dent the sumo wrestler jiu-jitsu route and merely tried to out-muscle the other and force them to submit.
Hatsume vs Iida
"Hey, you're my opponent?" Iida turned to see Hatsume approaching, the support student all smiles.
"That seems to be the case. Is there something you wish to discuss?" He asked her, with her eyes and goggles over them, twinkling like he had seen Aoyama's when he got mentioned in a conversation.
"Oh, actually, there is!" While she explained things to him, the rest continued to look at the board.
Bakugo vs Ashido
"Oh, come on! He's crazy strong." Ashido complained that Bakugo was not a nice person and was pretty dull at times despite how loud he could be, but that didn't mean he wasn't one of their best fighters. The only people who could give him a run for that would be Tokoyami or Todoroki.
"Then quit and save me the time," Bakugo replied, which Ashido met by sticking her tongue out at him. He might be stronger, but she wasn't about to let his ego get any bigger.
Tsunotori vs Hanta
"Who that?" Tsunotori asked Kendo, with her opponent just sighing to the side.
"Okay, harsh." The boy said.
Yaoyorozu vs Shiozaki
"I hope we have a fruitful match and the best woman wins." Yaoyorozu bowed to the girl, who returned the gesture in kind.
"Same to you." The two ignored how pale Kaminari and Mineta looked. They hadn't punished them, not yet at least, but they had made it clear that once the cameras were off, they better start praying.
Todoroki vs Tetsutetsu."
"I'm not going to lose this, ice boy. You hear me?" Tetsutetsu turned to his foe, who didn't even bother facing him, already turning to walk off. No intention to remain for the recreational games, which only pissed off Tetsutetsu. "Hey, say something, dammit!"
Midoriya vs Kirishima
"He was on Kacchan's team, wasn't he?" Midoriya asked, cocking his head to the side with his pom-poms in hand.
"Yup, we kind of clashed near the end there, though I was just the battering ram then." Kirishima replied, and Midoriya turned to see the redhead give him a thumbs-up.
"Oh, okay. No hard feelings when I beat you, then? I need to make till the end to get Monoma back for blowing me up." Midoriya smiled back, with Kirishima being caught off guard by his statement but returning the smile.
"That's come confidence, I like it!"
And we're done. A little late again, hopefully, with Path of Storms, I'll post that on time tomorrow, but there's still work to be done on it. Anyway, what did you think about the chapter? There was more planned; there's been more planned for a couple chapters now, but I haven't found a means to organically add it.
Hopefully, I can do so in the next chapter. Now, as for the whole cheerleader thing, the first draft had it happening as it does in canon, the class A girls tricked into it, but as I wrote this and realized that I've put Midoriya into a women's clothing more than once, the idea changed. As for why, well, both here and in Path of Storms, I've found that I've made Izuku into someone who thinks something is worthwhile, and he'll do it just for that.
The reason is that he spent his entire life suppressing himself from being socially isolated, so now he wants to enjoy life to the fullest. With mentors like Hado, his ideas of what is 'normal', which was already skewed, would only be shifted all the more in the best ways. It also helps highlight the different mindsets of the two hero course teachers. As you know, if class A's boys did that, Aizawa would have words.
Also, I just wanted to write the part where Iida sees the girls about to whale on Kaminari and Mineta and pulls a Christian Bale Batman where he goes, 'I won't kill you, but that doesn't mean I have to save you' and decided to let them reap the seeds they sowed.
Next chapter should be out on August 6th.
