Prologue

Usually, TRUE stories are not COMPLETE stories.

Both the Relic of Knowledge and the Tree of Ever After told the story of the Two Brothers, but both failed to mention the third – a Sister, imbued with the powers of both, born to act as a moderator between the two. While the Brothers sought to destroy or create as they saw fit, she strove to show where neither were necessary. Thus, Ever After came to be – with many places and beings created by The Brothers, and some areas left wild at Her urging. Because it was only She who understood that rules and order were insufficient – some randomness was required in order to maintain Balance.

This is something that The Brothers never truly understood, and resented what They saw as interference with Their plans.

Still, she persisted. Until one day, the Brother of Light seemed to understand what She was trying to say, and claimed that He would always abide by what She explained to Them. He told Her that They would go to a different place, and use what She had taught to create another kind of world – one that would be different from what They had done in Ever After.

Skeptical, the Sister decided to follow Them through the Portal, and see what kind of world They planned to create. When She saw what They had done, She proclaimed that She was satisfied – Her Brothers had learned enough about Balance, and Her moderation was no longer required.

She found a quiet place, and built Herself a Temple - She announced that She would sleep, until She was needed.

But The Brothers decided that They had had enough of Her interference, and took steps to prevent Her from EVER waking. Once She had fallen asleep in Her Temple, They created a vast chasm beneath it. The Temple fell, and They buried it in the ground... never to be seen again.

In time, all memory of Her was lost – not even in Fairy Tales from that era. So complete was the erasure that the creation of the world was ONLY attributed to the Two Brothers... and not the Sister who Sleeps.

And still Sleeps – up to this very day...
