From what the boys experienced, they came to the conclusion that people are not made equal. The strong are treated well and the weak poorly. People are defined by what they have rather than who they are.
Two boys were running at the beach together. One had green hair and the other had ash-white blue hair. They were best friends.Izuku Midoriya and Tenko Shimura had known each other for a long time.Since the day Izuku had saved Tenko from Katsuki Bakugo. They became close. They were both without power, but that did not matter to them.
They were in their third year of high school and planned to go to college.
Tenko was walking to his second period when a girl ran up to him.
"Hey, hey you, vote for Ayoama for school president!" she yelled, holding a poster of a blond-haired, blue-eyed guy.
Ayoama was a popular rich kid. He was also quirkless, but people did not care. He had money. Money, like quirks, was the same as power.
"I- uh- um..." Tenko was flabbergasted.
Later
"I would pass out these college application forms, but..."
The class got their quirks ready in anticipation.
"I know you all want to be heroes!" He turned and threw the papers behind him.
The class activated their quirks in excitement.
Izuku was in the back with his hand slightly raised.
"Now, now, you all have interest quirks, but using them in class is not allowed." he said, though he did not sound like he was scolding them.
"Hey, teach, don't lump me in with these extras. I'm sure they won't make it as a sidekick to some busted D-lister." Bakugo yelled, with his feet on his desk.
The class complained in protest at his arrogance.
"Come on, I'll take you all on!" He yelled.
"Bakugo, you are applying to U.a.'s hero course, right?" The teacher asked.
The class quickly got quiet to stare at Bakugo. He got up on his chair, with a foot on his desk.
Izuku did not hear what Bakugo said, as he was quietly writing in his notebook.
He was knocked out of his thoughts when Bakugo put a popping hand on his desk.
Izuku fell out of his desk and slowly scurried back while everyone in his class stared at him.
"You think you can compete with me!?!?" yelled Bakugo.
Izuku caught up on what might have gotten him so angry.
"What? No No No No, I would never. It's just..."
Izuku slowly smiled as he looked down.
He continued, "It's been my dream to go to U.A. since I was a little kid."
The students laughed while Bakugo became angrier.
"You can't get into the hero course by just studying."The U.A. would never accept a quirkless into the hero course." his classmates mocked.
"That's not true. They got rid of that rule." Izuku said quickly.
Bakugo was about to say something when the teacher interrupted him
"Bakugo, get back to your seat. Class has not ended yet."
Bakugo snarled and went back to his desk, fuming.
Izuku slowly got to his chair as the students chuckled.
After school.
Izuku was thinking of the morning when a hand took his notebook and looked up to see Bakugo using it to fan his face.
"We aren't done yet, Deku." He said with his lackeys behind him.
"What do you have there, his diary?" asked one with long hair.
"Stop it, Bakugo. Give it back." He said with a tinge of fear in his voice.
He had stopped calling Bakugo Kacchako a long time ago. Tenko had helped him realize that Bakugo wasn't his friend, just a jerk and a bully who made fun of those he deemed inferior. Sometimes, Izuku asked himself, "Does he really want to become a hero?"
Izuku's thoughts were interrupted by a pop and a notebook that had been thrown out of a window.
"No!" he yelled, stretching his hand for his notebook.
Bakugo went on a rant about how he would be the only one of the two to go to the prestigious U.A. university, but Izuku was too sad to pay attention.
Bakugo was interrupted by a hand on his right shoulder. A girl with chestnut hair glared up at him with a scowl on her face.
"Leave him alone, or I will call the principal." she said, her tone angry.
Uraraka Ochako, the only girl who still talked to Izuku like he was a person. They barely knew each other, but she was still nice to him when they spoke.
Bakugo gave her a menacing stare, but she did not back down, giving him her own glare.
Bakugo relented after a minute and clicked his tongue.
While he was walking out, he looked back and said to Deku, "You know, if you want to become a hero, there might actually be a way."
Izuku perked up at this and looked up, only to see a smirk from Bakugo.
He continued, "Just pray for a quirk in your next life and take a swan dive off the roof of the building."
Uraraka glared at Bakugo, and he continued out of the room.
"What a jerk, I want to punch his dump face so bad. Why doesn't he think of his words carefully? Why is he always so mean?" Uraraka ranted.
She was knocked out of her thoughts when she heard Izuku start talking.
"Um... t-thanks for helping me." he said, a bit frightened at the face Uraraka was making.
"Oh, no problem, are you ok, tho?" she asked, with a small frown on her face.
"Yea, I'm ok. Thanks." Izuku said with a small smile.
Uraraka nodded and gave him a big smile.
Izuku blushed and closed his backpack to make his way out of the room.
"Wait!" loudly exclaimed Uraraka, grabbing Izuku's right wrist. "I'm...um... It's..." Uraraka tried to say.
Izuku blushed a deep red at what Uraraka had done but looked back, concerned at her hesitation.
"There is..." Uraraka said.
"There is?" Izuku gently said.
Uraraka took a deep breath to calm herself.
"There is this party, and I was wondering if you wanted to go?" she said with a small blush and looking away.
"Oh, It would be fun. I would like to go." he said.
Uraraka's smile widened as she started writing on a paper. Where that pencil and paper came out of, Izuku did not know.
"Here, that is the address, when it will start and when it would end. I will see you there." Uraraka said as she ran to the door.
"Yea...see you-" Izuku said but was interrupted by the door being shut loudly.
"There... I guess." He continued, his smile diming at her running out on him.
Later.
Izuku and Tenko were talking about the news of Allmight in their neighboorhood. They were extatic at the thought of their favorite hero doing patrol near them.
"Did you see the news of him fighting that sludge villan?" Izuku asked.
"The same sludge villan who was doing those purse snatchings? Tenko asked with a wide smile.
"Yea, it's kinda sad to see such a cool ability being used to do something so petty as purse snatching. I can think of a lot of uses for it." Izuku said sadly.
"Yea, what I would give to have something like that..." Tenko said with a small frown forming on his face.
There was an akward silence before Izuku remembered what had happened earlier in class and changed the subject to it.
"Hey, something happened earlier. It might catch your attention." Izuku said.
Tenko looked at him with a questioning face, so Izuku continued, "There was a girl in my class, and she said -"
"Did she ask you out? I Zu Ku, it is barely the beginning of the year, and you are already catching the eyes of a female classmate? Impressive, my man." Tenko said teasingly.
"Huh?? N No, I..." Izuku stopped at seeing the smirk on his friends face.
"Jerk," Izuku said, and Tenko laughed.
"For your information, kind of." Izuku said.
"Ok, there was this girl... and she said...?" Tenko asked, signaling Izuku to proceed.
Izuku did not trust his voice, so he gave Tenko the paper Uraraka had given him.
"Party at... starts at 5 pm and ends at 4...am?" Tenko read out loud, confused at the information on the paper.
"Oh, look at that. The nicest girl in the school did ask you out."
"No, she invited me to a party. A lot of people are going, including me. I wanted to know if you wanted to go with me." Izuku said.
"I'm not sure. I kind of don't want to go, and besides, she invited you." Tenko hesitantly said.
"Yea, but it doesn't mean I can't invite you too."
"I'll... think about it." Tenko said quietly.
"Ok. Call me to tell me your answer, see you later, man." Izuku said.
Tenko agreed and walked into his house. Izuku kept walking to him to tell his mother he would be going out, not telling her about the party, but not lying either.
Later, Tenko told his mother about the party, and she concinced him to go, saying that it would help him socialize with people his age.
Later
Izuku was driving a van (He asked his mother, he is almost an adult. His mother trusts him.)
Izuku was wearing a normal outfit, which looked baggy on him. He had taken a shower, so his hair was less puffy than usual. He had a green shirt that said "Pants" and a yellow jacket.
Tenko was wearing a casual yet formal outfit. He had on a blue suit jacket, with an orange shirt on. His pants were purple and shiny.
Izuku took a deep breath, looked at Tenko, smiled, and said, "I think we are here."
Tenko nodded shakily and said with a smile, "It's a rave party, heck of a way to use a big old apartment, it's nice."
"Yes, let's go in there." replied Izuku with a smile.
Inside
Tenko and Izuku were walking together, and Izuku said something to Tenko
Tenko rushed beside Izuku to hear him better and asked, "What?"
Izuku turned to Tenko and said loudly, "Maybe we should separate."
"But, I thought you told me to come with you?"
"I did, but I think it would be better to explore a bit. Talk to people, have fun, drink a beer or something." Izuku said before he walked further into the crowd.
"I.. I don't drink!" yelled Tenko, but it was too late. Izuku was already too far away.
Izuku met up with Uraraka and started chatting with her a bit. There were instances where they almost comfessed, but they decided to do something else.
Tenko was somewhere else, walking around, when he saw a pink gril dancing on a stage with a tank top and skirt. He was looking at how she was moving, with precision and delicacy. He tried to look closer when a guy pushed him. He was knocked back a bit, worried he might have accidentally hit someone.
He looked at the guy, but it was clear he pushed him on purpose. He had black hair and sharp teeth, with a beer cup in his hand. He was drunk, and that was clear to see.
The guy got closer and asked, "Are you staring at my girl? Huh?"
Tenko looked away, then tried to speak over the music, saying, "No.. I was... I wasn't, I was..."
"Look at me when I'm talking to you!" The guy yelled.
The guy got closer to him. Tenko quickly looked at the guy and tried to speak.
"Answer me, were you or were you not staring at my girl, huh?"
"No, no, I was.."
"Stop being weird and stop staring at my girl." The guy said.
"No, no, I wasn't, I was looking at the party I wasn't looking-,""Don't talk back to me!" the guy said and spit on Tenko.
"Bitch." He said and walked away.
Outside
Tenko was next to a tree, with his jacket off.
He was crying alone, trying to forget what had happened earlier. He was wiping his face with his shirt and his jacket on the floor, hoping that the dirt would somehow clean away the spit.
He was too focused on his thoughts that he almost missed someone calling his name.A blond guy walked up to him and said, "Shimjra? Hey, you gotta come see this we found a...thing... Are you ok?"
Tenko wiped his tears and replied, "Yea...Yea, I'm ok.
The blond guy looked skeptical but dropped the subject.
"I'm Ayoama Yuga," the guy said after he crouched and stretched his hand for a handshake.
"Tenko Shimura, nice to meet you." Tenko said while shaking Ayoama's hand. That made Ayoama smile softly.
"Hey, so Midoria and I were messing around, and we found this thing."
"Wait, you know Izuku?" Tenko asked, confused. Izuku was not the popular type, and according to his memory, Ayoama was running for school president, which is a popular guy type thing.
"Yea, I know the guy. We're not besties, but we know each other." Ayoama said.
"Oh, and what were you saying?" Tenko asked.
"Oh, we found some crazy shit in the forest, man." Ayoama said quickly.
"Oh, that's nice." said Tenko.
"I came to find you, come check it out, man." Ayoama said.
"I'm not sure." said Tenko
After some convincing, Ayoama got Tenko to agree to go with him.
A little later
Ayoama turned to look at Tenko, remembering something he said, "Oh yea, Tenko Shimura, I remember you from 3rd grade, you always wore that grey jacket and red shoes, of course I remember you."
Tenko smiled a little nervous and asked, "You remember that?"
Ayoama smiled and replied, smiling, "Yea, I got a thing for faces, which is why I'm running for politics."
"Now that I think about it, I remember you used to have a heavy french accent." Tenko said with a chuckle.
Ayoama paled and, while shivering, said, "We don't talk about that."
They continued walking until they heard Izuku yelling at them.
Izuku looked up with a smile and asked, "Where were you? It's been like 30 minutes?"
Ayoama smiled and replied, "I got him, but where is everyone else?'
Tenko paled a bit before asking, "There are more people with you guys?"
Izuku ignored Tenko's expression and said, "They all left, said they got bored."
"What a bunch of crap, they are scared." Ayoama said laughing.
"Tenko, look come closer." Izuku said excitedly while pointing at a hole in the grownd.
"Wait, record it first." said Ayoama, also excited.
Tenko took out his phone and did what they asked. He was getting excited in anticipation while getting close to the hole.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Shh shh, you'll hear it in a bit..." replied Izuku said while waving Tenko to lean with him.
Tenko leaned his phone into the pit when a sudden loud noise roared from inside.
Ayoama and Izuku stood up, laughing.
"That is insane, dude." exclaimed Izuku.
"Did your phone catch that?" Ayoama asked, looking at Tenko.
"Maybe, I think it's too loud. So I don't know. What do you think is inside?"
Ayoama shrugged while Izuku got that face he made when he had an idea.
Tenko and Ayoama were flabbergasted at what they saw Izuku do next.
He straight up went in, yelling on his way in, "Bonjour, my good sirs!"
Ayoama laughed and said, "This guy is a ninja."
Ayoama got ready to get in while smiling at Tenko.
"Wait, I don't think this is a good idea." he said carefully.
His words fell on deaf ears as he saw Ayoama go inside.
"Ore voir mon ami!" was what he said.
Tenko stayed for a little while until he also went with them.
Inside
Tenko was trying to find Izuku and Ayoama while calling out, "Izuku, where are you guys? This isn't funny."
He was walking when he suddenly stepped in what looked like a puddle of poop.
Tenko's face turned pale while he tried to rub the brown substance off on the floor.
Tenko was walking slowly. For some reason, he did not hear the sound he heard earlier.
He was walking whe suddenly.
Izuku and Tenko came up and yelled. "Boo!"
Tenko yelled and jumped back.
Izuku kaughed and said, "Tenko's such a wussy."
Ayoama stopped laughing first and said, "Look, come here, we found out where the noise was coming from. C'mon Shimura, this way quick."
Izuku was the first one to speak when they turned the corner. "What have we ran into?" he asked, with a shaky voice.
Tenko and Ayoama walked towards the thing.
They were looking at what looked like a diamond wall that covered the tunnel.
Ayoama got close to what looked like a spike on it.
Tenko was recording, but his phone was failing him.
The noise was back. now that they were close, it felt like their ears would burst.
Izuku felt like he was lighter and tried to jump to test it.
Izkuku was floating slightly.
"Guys, look!" Izuku said in amazement. He heard Tenko say something, but he was unheard.
Things started to get hot, and their lungs felt like they were being burned.
They were all sweating.
Ayoama was the only one on the ground as he reached for the spike. They felt something. They felt it, but it felt wrong, something inside in them, in their head.
For a small moment, it was like they saw through each other's eyes. The three of them at the same time, but they also felt the thing in front of them.
After Ayoama had touched the spike. It went from blue to red. Ayoama felt his nose leak. He checked with his fingers and saw the blood.
He started to hyperventilate, but before anything else could be done, the three boys were launched back.
They all felt their backs hit the floor and passed out.
