Chapter 1
Kara and Lena have been dating for four years today was their anniversary and Kara had something special planned at the end of the night. But she was nervous Kara wanted to take Lena as her wife but still she worried what if Lena said no. Lost in thought Kara didn't hear the knock at the door. Kara finally snapping out of her thoughts she heard the door making her way to the door, "c-coming hold on" she said. When she opened the door, "Alex what are you doing here?" "well hello to you too sister." Alex said with mock offense. "I'm sorry Alex how are you doing." Kara said alex seeing the worry on her sister's face. " I'm okay Kara It;s just i haven't seen you in a few days and the worry isee on your face Kara what's wrong. Kara please talk to me." Alex pleaded with her sister. Kara exhaled. "Fine i've been worried because you know today is mine and Lena's four year anniversary." Kara said. "Yes i do." Alex said. "Well what you don't know is i want to ask Lena to marry me." Kara confessed to her sister. "Really! Kara that great!" Alex exclaimed. "If anyone are meant to be together it's you and Lena." Alex said. "There is no reason to be afraid Kara Lena loves you and you love her honestly it's a bit annoying how cute you two are." Alex smiled and made Kara giggle. " you're right Alex thank you." "mhm what would you do without me." Alex joked. "Have a normal life." Kara joked making Alex feign mock offense smiling. "Well i never." Alex joked. "Your lif is much more exiting with in it. "True." Kara smiled and hugged Alex. "Now go do blushing bride things your best man has a wedding to plan." alex said. "You best man." Kara said. "Yeah wearing kevlar and combat boots daring anyone to challenge My authority." Alex said. "I would expect no less from you. Kara said. "You know it now i'll leave you now see you later." Alex said. "See you later." Kara said and alex left her now all she had to do was to get the ring but she had to figure out she was going to get Lena's ring size without her finding out Kara's plan.
Kara thought long and hard about her plan she had get Lena to tell her her ring size without Lena finding out why Kara needed it. "How can i do this without letting on to my true motive Lena is smart she might see through my charade unless i come up with something fool proof." Kara thought to herself. She spent the next few hours pondering her choices. "Hmm maybe if i." Kara thought. She took out her phone and called Lena.
Meanwhile at L-CORP. "Jess reschedule my afternoon meetings with the board and financial for monday morning say 11:00 am i plan on leaving early today for the weekend." she said. "Yes ma'am any big plans." Jess asked. "Just my anniversary. Lena answered. "Oh how is Kara? i miss seeing Kara around her blind optimism was refreshing." she added. "Mm yeah ha i know its one of the reasons i fell in love with her. Lena said. "Yeah well have a great weekend Mrs Luthor and tell Kara i said hi and to stop by soon." Jess finished. " thanks and i will." Lena said and smiled. As Jess left Lena's phone rang looking down her smile grew as she saw it was Kara."
Kara what a nice surprise." she said answering the call. Hey babe i had an idea i wanted to run past you for your input." Kara said. Lena smiled her heart soaring when she heard Kara call her babe. "Sure darling what is it." Lena said "i had an idea for the team rings for all of assigned to our specific DNA." kara said it hurt her to lie to Lena but she wanted to surprise her. "Sure thats wonderful Kara." Lena said. "But i need everyone's ring sizes." Kara said trying to avoid suspicion. "Which finger?" she asked. "The ring finger." Kar answered. "Oh ok mine is 8." Lena stated. Great thanks i have to get the others sizes i'll see you tonight I love you." she said. "I love you too bye." Lena said and she hung up. "Huh it is a great idea who knew! Kara is full of surprises! You never cease to surprise me Kara Danvers." lena said aloud smiling.
Back at Kara's loft after Lena hung up Kara smiles staring at her phone. "She doesn't suspect a thing."
Kara after a quick google search readies her self and heads downtown. 20 minutes later she arrived at logans jewelry store. She walked inside and right up to the counter. "Yes ma'am how may i help you?" the clerk asked Kara. "Yes i would like to buy an engagement ring for my girlfriend." "Wonderful is their anything in particular you looking for?" the clerk asked her. I would like a green gem with a blue setter and a silver band also an inscription." Kara said. "hmm i see interesting choices what would you like the inscription to say?" "I would like it say with a super and a Luthor together anything is possible." Kara said. "Just beautiful and why the specific ring designs?" she asked. The green gemstone is for her green eyes the blue setter is for my blue eyes and the silver band is for the beauty the strength and the bond between us that can never be broken." Kara said. "You must really love her." she said. " i do and she loves me and thats all that matters." Kara said. "Well in that case it is my pleasure to help join supergirl with her love." Kara smiled. "Thank you." Kara said She waited a couple of hours and finally the ring was ready. She took it thanked the clerk once more and left she couldn't wait for tonight.
At L-CORP Lena was leaving for her night with Kara. as she left her office she said goodbye to Jess. "goodnight Jess have a good weekend see you monday." Lena said. "Goodnight Mrs Luthor have a time with Kara." Jess said. " oh i will." Lena said smiling a look of bliss on her face as she imagined it. She then continued on down to her car. "Where to Mrs Luthor?" her driver asked. "To Kara's." she said getting in her car.
Kara stared intently at the ring. "I really hope Lene likes it." she thought to herself she heard a key fiddling in the lock she knew it was Lena. "Lena! i gotta hide this for now." she quickly thought using her super speed she hid the ring. As Lena came in she sat back down on the couch. "Lena hey you're home." she said running to her and kissed her quickly on the lips. "Well thats a welcome home i like."
Kara smiled resting her head on Lena's chest. "I've missed you my love." Kara said with a bubbly smile. "I missed you too darling." Lena said smiling and hugging Kara.
They then got ready for their evening together a quick shower and they were dressed and ready to go. Lena wore a red dress and Kara a silver dress. "Shall we go." Kara asked holding out her hand. "I'm in your hands." Lena smiled sweetly. Kara sped them both away.
Arriving at their destination stopping in front of freddoccino's. "Oh nice place Kara." Lena said taking Kara's hand in hers. "Shall we go darling. She continued. Kara led her in. the 2 women approached the hostess station. "Reservation for 2 for danvers and Luthor." Kara said the lady. "Yes ma'am." the hostess said checking her list. "Here we are right this way." she said.
The hostess lead them to their table. After they were seated. "Your meals will be here momentarily ladies." she said. " but we haven't ordered anything yet!" Lena stated. "Oh i did for us i hope thats okay babe." Kara said. Lena smirked. "Oh course darling." Lena said. "I wanted to surprise you." Kara said as the waiters brought their meal. "Meatloaf and pot stickers with red wine hmm you know me so well babe." Lena said praising her girlfriend.
"I love you so much Lena." Kara said. "I love you too Kara so very much." Lena said. Leaning in their lips met in a quick but passionate kiss.
As they ate they talked about their day from their perspective jobs. "My new job as the new editor and chief is great since we empowered the people during the Nixley and Lex debacle and me revealing my identity as Supergrl has made it so much easier, i don't have to constantly dash out to save the day while my personal life suffers." Kara said. "It has been great everyone accepts me i was so scared about that just like my gauntlet for the courage totem because i created supergirl that night saving Alex's plane, and i love that Cat is back." Kara continued. "It hasn't been the same without her." Kara finished.
"I see honestly i never liked Snapper Carr he was a dick.jimmy was a great editor but he was no Cat Grant. She joked. "After andrea was revealed to be working for Leviathan i lost trust in her a little." Lena said. "Yeah but i get why she did it her father was dying and she also did it to protect him." Kara said.
"Yeah that is true and i admire her for that also sticking to her morales too." Lena said. "Yes thats why i'm glad she helped us in the end against Lex and Nixley." Kara said. "Honestly i would like to ask her to join us so that accrida be so much more." Kara said.
"I think thats a great idea i think she would accept." Lena said. "Yeah you think so?" Kara asked "Yeah." Lena said. They continued eating. After they finished they paid and exited the restaurant. "Now whats next my love." Lena asked. "Well i have a surprise for you." Kara said. "Oh whats that." Lena smirked at Kara. "well if you want to know that then you'll have to come with me." Kara said flirtatiously. "Hmm well how can i say no." Lena said smiling.
Kara picked her up bridal style and flew off with her in her arms.
About 20 minutes later they landed in an open field. "Thank you for flying air Kara hope you enjoyed your flight." Kara said smiling. "Hmm normally i hate flying but with you Kara i'd always make an exception my love." Lena said leaning in close pecking her lips. "Mm call me." Kara said dazed making Lena smile in victoriously. "That good." Lena smirked. "mhmm. " Kara murmured.
After a few minutes she snapped out of it. Lena looked around. "so why a empty field." she asked. "This is why." Kara said turning her around. A presentation of fireworks showing images of Lena at her work and action shots of her. Lena stared at the show before her the fireworks set off at the precise positions with right colors to represent her precisely. "Oh Kara it's beautiful thank you." Lena cried. "You're welcome my love." Kara said holding her in her arms. They stayed like that for an hour. Finally they headed back. "You ready to go my love?" Kara asked. "Lets go babe." Lena answered.
A 20 minute flight later and they landed back at Kara's loft. Lena settled in on the couch. "I have one more surprise for you." Kara said. "Oh what's that darling?" Lena asked. "Close your eyes and you'll see babe." Kara said. Lena complied closing her eyes. Kara went to her bedroom and grabbed the ring box put in a bag and went back to Lena in the living room. "Can i open my eyes now?" Lena asked her eyes still closed. "Not yet babe one more minute." Kara responded.
Taking in a deep breath to calm her nerves. "Okay babe open your eyes now." Kara said. Lena opened her eyes slowly seeing the bag. She took the bag opening it up. When she took the ring. "Kara!" Lena gasped a mix of shock surprise and endearment. Kara took the ring and got down on one knee holding the ring. "Lena Kiren Luthor you are the love of my life you have been since the day i met you i instantly fell in love with you, The way you wanted to distance yourself from your family's cycle of violence and hate. The way you wanted to reinvent yourself and your company to make it a force for good." Kara said.
"I want to be with you for the rest of my life i want to be your wife. Will you marry me." Kara said.
"Yes i will marry you Kara i love you." Lena said crying tears of joy streaming down her cheeks. Kara put the ring on her finger and kissed her. "I love you too."
