I woke up earlier than usual the next morning. I laid in my hammock, listening to the snores of the rest of the crew and felt the remaining drowsiness slip away. I decided to get up since I wouldn't go back to sleep soon. I reached down and felt around for my glasses. I heard some soft ticks and squinted to see what it was. I could barely make out my glasses moving around, the bottoms of the temple tips looked like it was waddling. I sighed as I carefully slipped my shoes on and ran my fingers through my hair to calm it.

"Really Morph?" I mumbled. I then walked to where he disappeared, behind some luggage. I tripped over my feet and no body woke up, thankfully. I decided to just crawl the rest of the way. "Come on buddy, I need those to see." I said, using my hand to feel around for the blob. I barely had time to register that something was flying at my face. When I felt something cold, I flinched. When I heard the chitter in response I shook my head with a soft smile. "Sorry Morph I still can't see." He floated off my face and turned back into his original form. I saw a pink fuzz retreating and then returning with my glasses and placed them in my hand. I opened them and slipped them on, allowing my sight to be better.

"Thank you." I said, stroking the blob on his head. Then I had an idea. "Y'know, it would be really funny to see that prank on Jim." I felt a devilish grin growing on my face, thinking of how funny this would be. "You should be one of his shoes." He giggled in agreement. I went over to Jim's hammock and grabbed the shoe. I hid it somewhere, hid myself behind a mast that connected a lot of hammocks, and Morph turned into the fake one. Now we wait.

We didn't have to wait long. The morning sun had already let its beams in and I saw on of Mr. Snuff's tentacles near Jim's face. He snored, with it leaving that one tentacle and it woke Jim up. He groaned and tried to shoved it away but fell off his hammock. I put my hand over my mouth to stop my giggles from escaping. Jim slipped on a boot and when he tried to grab the other one, it hopped away from him into the place he hid my glasses. He sighed as he watched it.

"Morph?" He asked before standing up. He tucked in his shirt as he groggily walked over to the luggage. "Morph, knock it off. It's too early for this." He got on his knees to search and that's when I lost it. I giggled watching him try to find the blob. Jim looked over at the source. "Emma? Was this your idea?"

I stayed silent. "I can see you." He added.

"I can neither confirm nor deny this accusation." I said, revealing myself.

He sighed and that's when Morph kicked him in the butt. "Ow, hey guys!" He looked at the floating shoe then at me.

"I didn't tell him to do that." I said.

Morph stuck his tongue out at him before turning back to his original form. He laughed as he grabbed the shoe from its hiding place. "Hey come back here!" Jim said as he started chasing the blob.

"Come back here!" Morph repeated. I giggled and try to catch the blob but he was too fast. We both followed him out on the deck and Jim jumped from the upper part of the deck and got his shoe, landing near a grated area above the galley. I walked over to make sure he was okay but stopped when I saw the little troublemaker emerge. Jim sighed as Morph turned into an orange pufferfish like fish and squirted water all over his face. I laughed when I saw that.

"That's it, you little squid!" Jim said. He tried to catch him but he dove in between one of the grates. The shapeshifter popped back up, as Jim's head.

"You little squid." He repeated. I laughed watching Jim trying to catch him. The little heads had multiplied and it looked like a game of whack a mole. The boy used his shoe to smack on the grate until the little heads disappeared. He then stood and up looked at me.

"At least someone finds this amusing." He said.

"He did the same thing to me but with my glasses." I responded. I walked over to the stairs. "We better go find him."

We walked down the stairs into the galley, with Jim trying to put his shoe on and slipping down the rest of the way. I snickered watching him tumble down. We then looked around for where Morph was hiding. I felt a nudge on my side and looked up. Jim pointed to the purp barrel, which is now about a quarter full of the fruits. We both carefully walked over to it and peaked in.

We saw one of the purple fruits grow eyes before closing them. "Ha! Busted!" Jim said before diving in there and catching the blob. I shook my head watching the scene. That's when I heard footsteps coming down into the room. My eyes widened and I quickly hopped in the barrel before getting caught. Jim looked at me in confusion but I just pointed out.

"Look, what we're saying is, we're sick of all this waiting." Someone said. We both peered through a hole in the barrel and saw a majority of the crew in the galley. I could feel Jim's breath on the top of my head.

"There's only four of them left." The big burly guy that shoved me into the shrouds said.

"We are wanting to move." The guy that Delbert will insult later said.

"We don't move till we got the treasure in hand." Silver said. I saw his metal hand clenched in a fist as he pointed that out. I felt my heart break the moment I saw his hand. Why? I knew this would happen but why am I hurt by it? I glanced up at Jim and saw that his eyes had widened in shock.

"I say we kill 'em all now." Scroop said, with a claw out ready to slit some throats. Silver grabbed him by the face with his metal hand, then changed it to where he was holding his neck. The spider struggled to breath with the metal around his throat.

"I say!" Silver repeated, now more angry than ever. "What's to say! Disobey my orders again, like that stunt you pulled with Mr. Arrow, then so help me YOU'LL BE JOINING HIM!" The cyborg picked up the bug like alien by his throat and threw him to the barrel. We shook as his body collided with the wood. Morph was free from Jim's grasp but I caught him before he could give us away.

"Strong talk, but I know otherwise." A claw had stuck its way inside the barrel, looking for a purp. It was dangerously close to our faces. I leaned my head back against the wood carefully, making sure we don't get revealed. Jim grabbed a purp and placed it in Scroop's claw. It left none the wiser to the listening ears.

"You got something to say Scroop?"

"It's those kids."

I looked out the hole again and saw Silver's shocked expression. "Me thinks you have a soft spot for them." I heard a puncture like sound from the fruit. The rest of the crew murmured in agreement.

"Now, mark me, the lot of ya. I care about one thing and one thing only! Flint's trove. You think I'd risk it all for the sake of some nose-wiping little whelps?"

I saw my sight blur and something warm started falling down my face. I wiped my cheek and looked at the tear on my finger. Was that all he saw me as? A pathetic little kid? I felt stupid for allowing myself to trust him, knowing what's to come. I looked at Jim and saw him fighting tears.

"What was it now? Oh, 'you got the makings of greatness in ya both.' Haven't you noticed something else about the girl? Something that someone would love to see, even meet the brat."

"Shut your yap! You were the last one to see Ossian that night! I know nothing about that brat. I cozied up to those kids to keep them off our scent, but I ain't gone soft."

That caught my attention. What are they talking about? Who is Ossian? It distracted me from my damaged feelings for a bit but my mind returned back to that. "Planet ho!" The lookout shouted. I heard noises of excitement from the crew and they scampered up to see the planet. I freed Morph from my hands and watched him zoom off.

I glanced at Jim and saw that he let those tears out. I felt more start sliding down my face as I hugged him in comfort. I sniffled a little as I tried to get my emotions under control. After a bit of crying in the barrel I spoke. "We need to tell the captain." I mumbled. My voice was shaking as I said that.

"We do." Jim said. He wiped his face clean of tears before looking at me. He used the edge of his sleeve to clean mine, making me look at him in confusion. "It'll be okay." He said as he got out of the barrel. He stuck his arms back in and I grasped them. He lifted me out of the barrel and when I was on the ground he let me go. I saw him wipe his eyes to get rid of brewing tears. "Come on."

We both started running up the stairs but stopped when we saw Silver appear, blocking us. I grasped Jim's sleeve with a hand as I gazed up at the cyborg. My heart started beating wildly in my chest from fear. Jim moved a little in front on me, acting as a shield. The cyborg looked surprised to see us. "Jimbo? Em?" He started walking down the stairs toward us, making us back away until we were trapped by him and a table. "Playing games are we?"

"Yeah." I mumbled. "We're playing games." I did my best not to let my fear and nerves loose in my voice. I gripped onto my friend's sleeve tighter as I stared at the brown and yellow eyes.

"Oh, I see. Well I was never much good at games." He moved his hands behind his back. I heard the gears whir as he changed his hand. "Always hated to lose." My breath hitched when I heard a click. It has to be a gun. That's when I felt Jim's hand on my arm.

"Me too!" Jim said. He had grabbed a knife while we were talking and quickly stabbed it in Silver's mechanical leg. The rubber broke from the sharp object and steam filled the room. We quickly ran upstairs as Silver screamed and tried to gain some footing. We ran all the way to Amelia's quarters with Morph deciding to join us. Jim opened the door with his free hand and pushed me in.

"What's all this?" Amelia asked, looking rather flustered. I saw Delbert with a matching look.

"PIRATES!" I yelled.

"Silver and the crew." Jim said. "They want—" That's when we heard a whistle from the other end. I leaned my ear against the wood to listen better.

"Change in plan, lads!" Silver shouted. "We move now!"
