Chapter 18: A Twin

.

.

Summary:

"Your hair's long," were the words Gisele is greeted with as she was joined at the booth at a dimly lit bar.

"That bob's working for you, too," Gisele comments, "I don't know about the color though."

"I'm a smashing blonde," the other woman says, "And you know it, Sis."

The woman lowers her sunglasses to reveal her face.

This wasn't just Gisele's sister but her identical twin sister, who reaches out for a hug.

Author's notes:

Hey! New chapter, I hope the readers returned, thanks for waiting, and hello to the new ones.

Straightforward Gisele has a twin in the summary headcanon

New variation/version/timeline/AU or whatever chapter

This is a new/separate timeline from the other chapters even if it could technically co-exist with the others if there are no contradictions

Chapter 18: A Twin

"Your hair's long," were the words Gisele is greeted with as she was joined at the booth at a dimly lit bar.

"That bob's working for you, too," Gisele comments, "I don't know about the color though."

"I'm a smashing blonde," the other woman says, "And you know it, Sis."

The woman lowers her sunglasses to reveal her face.

This wasn't just Gisele's sister but her identical twin sister, who reaches out for a hug.

"So is this a personal or business? Real talk, your last gig shook you up more than normal."

Gisele lingers on her drink before finally answering after her other half's pleading but understanding eyes.

"I think it's all the years…coming together."

Gisele and her sister worked together in the past, but not for awhile now.

"I have something coming up, and if it goes how I suspect then I might have to lay low for awhile."

"No details for me then," Gisele's twin surmises.

Dom Toretto had called her up for a job in Rio.

Gisele and her twin sister were no strangers to off-the-books gigs, moreso than Mr. Nobody's type, as before they engaged in petty crime to survive but only to those that deserved it, or so they told themselves.

This was before the Mossad and the Agency.

"No details," Gisele confirms, "And you?"

"The usual."

"Extra late night shifts?" Gisele looks into the other's eyes for signs of weariness, "I can't seem to reach you."

"Time difference," her twin answers.

"Same for me," Gisele says.

This meant they were on the move.

Gisele's twin finishes her wine Gisele had ordered in advance, "Should we have another?"

Gisele nods, "I wouldn't say no to your special spaghetti."

"The truth comes out," the other woman laughs, "it is my responsibility as the older one."

"That was never confirmed," Gisele objects.

"Who says you're the real Gisele?" Gisele's twin jokes, "In all of humanity surely there could be a switch sometime as babies. Tired, sleepless parents mix you up one day and never notice."

"If you say so," Gisele laughs as get up to leave.

"I had an interesting day when I paid my bills today," Gisele's twin sister on the phone line tells Gisele.

It was some time after Rio and Gisele was sorting things out after, and so off-shore and Swiss bank accounts were the go-to, but not just her own.

"You have my back and I have yours."

They were no strangers to randomly sharing money.

"Gisele…"

"This is nothing. Believe me. You don't have to worry anymore."

"Don't tell me there's more coming. You should have called me in to help."

"I was at the right place at the right time," Gisele argues, "this doesn't mean anything to me, I'd give it all to you but I know you won't stand for that."

"You're a genius, Sis," Gisele's twin says, "Don't think otherwise."

"You have your specialties and I have mine."

"Tell me you're going to be okay. I'll play the guilt card if I have to."

"I am…" Gisele confirms, "I'm working on it."

"I have to go, hit the books…" Gisele's twin groans.

"I don't envy you," Gisele chuckles, "Don't forget to relax and have fun in between."

"Gisele,"

"Someone has to remind you."

"Tell me in person next time, have fun with me."

"Soon," Gisele smiles.

"I have ten minutes," Gisele's twin informs looking over at the person tapping her watch as a reminder.

"…off-hours? Co-worker?" Gisele's twin asks the next time they talk, twenty minutes into the call.

"…co-worker," Gisele decides, sighing after, "I really love him."

"So real, actual, co-worker?"

"Yes."

"At least that makes things a little easier."

"He makes it easy," Gisele says quietly, thinking of Han.

Ending Author's notes for Perspective, Chapter 18: A Twin-

Gisele has a twin sister timeline AU

If you read my other fanfic notes then you know at some point I quit naming original characters if I can so as of now Gisele's twin sister's name doesn't exist

(and if I remember correctly they never say Gisele's name out loud in the films until F7? We see her name on a screen as the Braga's people profile in 4; and I don't recall 5 or 6; and Dom says it when Sean shows the picture to him in F7)

In this timeline/alternate universe Gisele has a twin as we see the scene with them together, just to be clear as I introduced the idea of Gisele pretending to be her own twin in First Valentine's [which I wrote after I wrote "A Twin"] so just so we are clear.

I sort of have another part to this timeline but I've been struggling with it all this time and I wanted more Han/Gisele moments before I introduced the twin timeline, which read too much like Delirious, so chapters 10 to 17 happened even if I wrote this one before those;

and I've made peace if a related twin timeline chapter doesn't happen but I just want to introduce this option, even if it's just backstory/setup to possibly FX Gisele being her twin –and maybe this is my strength as a writer, to add character moments/headcanon to existing canon instead of making up my version of events (read: plot)
