Peter was the first to get out. He couldn't fall asleep. After over half an hour of tossing and turning, they disqualified him. Clint got out next, due to a call from his wife. Then Tony, because of Morgan. Clint talked to his wife, while Tony worked on his latest project: getting the Iron Man suits to perform a string quartet (don't ask).
Peter logged onto a video call with the Teen Hero League (consisting of him, Shuri, Riri, Kamala, America (when she wasn't in another universe), Cassie, and Cooper; Lila, Kate, Morgan, Nate, Wanda, and Harley were honorary members). Only a few of them were on the call today, though. Kamala was grounded (who grounds their kids during COVID when there's nothing to do anyway?) and was happy to talk. Riri announced that Shuri was working on something involving bombs. Cooper was busy, America was in another universe, and Cassie was testing out her new suit. That left Peter, Kamala, and Riri.
Peter settled into the video call, exchanging greetings with Kamala and Riri. "Hey, guys. What's new?" he asked, trying to shake off the fatigue.
Kamala, visible on screen with a messy bun and a hint of frustration, replied, "Just enjoying my exciting grounded life. You know, the usual."
Riri chuckled. "I feel you. I've been stuck in the lab all day. Shuri's bomb project is driving me crazy."
Peter sympathized. "At least you're making progress. I'm stuck here with... well, you know." He glanced around the room, ensuring no one was listening.
