Dabi narrated the emotional turmoil of his disappointment and anguish that he felt as Toya because Endeavor never showed up to witness his training eleven years ago at Sekoto Peak, which instantly caused him to lose control of his flames and unleashed a massive wildfire around the trees. He tried to save himself from dying while burning to a crisp, but he didn't know how to quell his flames since he was told how to increase the heat by his father. He frantically and desperately jumped into a nearby lake in hopes of quelling the flames. Even though he managed to survive, his entire body was covered with a severe degree of burns. That's when All For One found him on that day.
Three years later, Toya woke up from his coma and found himself alive in a nursery, where he shockingly learned his voice had changed. A nursery attendant told him that he can't leave and go home to his family. On the monitor screen, All For One explained to Toya that the nursery had to replace his missing pieces with regenerative tissue in order to restore his burnt body. But unfortunately, Toya will be unable to utilize his fire power due to his damaged organs, dulled senses, and debilitated body that made him unable to feel any pain. Despite all of that, Toya refused to be trained by anyone else except Endeavor and managed to escape out of the nursery. He finally returned home, knowing that he needed to reconcile and apologize to his family for all the terrible things he said and did.
While Shoto combined his hands together to channel his fire and ice sides in preparation, Aisha stared at Dabi with wide eyes upon hearing the story from him.
Toya was in a coma for three years after All For One found him?! Aisha exclaimed in shock. I'm glad he ran off from that place before anything bad happened to him.
"You know, Shoto. I actually did go back once. Though, none of you noticed me as usual." Dabi explained. "Course I had no reason to get my hopes up. After all, I was showing up even weaker than before. Still, I wanted him to look at me again. I guess I…I wanted to see what was different. What my absence had done. How my family coped. The scene I walked in on told me everything I needed to know. Nothing had changed in the three years I was gone. In that moment, I knew my family had forgotten about me. I was a failure with no reason to live."
Aisha's eyes widened in concern when the entire skin of Dabi's arms started to incinerate in his blue flames.
"Did you know that when you go past your limits the world turns on its head? Everything you've achieved goes up in smoke." Dabi continued. "I didn't want to face him while I was still weak, so after that, I was completely focused on my flames. I felt no pain, even when my body festered and charred bits peeled off. In my downtime, I watched him."
"Careful, Shoto! I don't like this!" Onima shouted with a worried expression.
"You're been prepared to die this entire time." Shoto said.
"Whenever I saw him save an entire city or noticed he was gaining fame, my heart pounded in my chest." Dabi added. "Ever since I died and Dabi was born, I knew what I had to do."
Dabi melted half of All Might's statue with the stomp of his foot, revealing himself as a completely crisped husk.
"I'll burn all that he holds dear!" Dabi screamed. "That's the reason I'm still alive! His suffering will be proof that I existed!"
"I told you I'm not gonna let you do that, big brother!" Shoto shouted.
"Ha! This is weird! That little bonding session kinda cheered me up! Thanks for being such a good listener, little brother!" Dabi yelled with a laugh. His eyes looked down at Aisha, who narrowed his eyes at him. "And you better not step in! This is a battle between me and my little brother!"
With no hesitation, Dabi raised the temperature of his blue flames that were surrounding Shoto, Aisha, and the Flaming Sidekicks at a faster pace. His blue flames then grew into a huge inferno.
"Now, I'm feeling it!" Dabi stated. "You make good kindling, even if Dad isn't around!"
"This ends here! I'm the one who'll stop you!" Shoto yelled.
"I hope you haven't got the wrong idea!" Dabi countered. "I thought about you plenty in the years I was feeding my fire. I managed to get a weak version of my flames back. And thanks to my training, I knew how to keep pushing myself. Good ol' Dad said my firepower was greater than his. That encouraged me to keep at it. With my senses dulled, I no longer had the same limits. It wasn't long before I could copy him and his Flashfire Fist!"
Aisha's hands clenched into tight fists with a fierce expression.
"I bet you're a big All Might fan, huh, Shoto?!" Dabi hollered.
"Here it comes!" Burnin said as she, Kido, and Onima stood in front of Shoto and Aisha in an offensive manner.
"Hell Spider!" Dabi hollered.
Dabi unleashed a wide array of fire spirals at the heroes all outside the tornado. Some of the heroes failed to evade, except for Iida, who managed to dodge the fire spirals.
Burnin, Kido, and Onima activated their Quirks to protect Shoto and Aisha from the massive flames all while Shoto readied his fire-ice blast.
"You ready, kid? We can't do this forever!" Onima shouted to Shoto.
"Absolutely." Shoto replied.
Then suddenly, Dabi slid behind Shoto with blitzing speed that quickly caught Shoto and Aisha's attention.
What?! Aisha thought in shock. The Hell Spider was a distraction?!
"There's something I've been curious about, Shoto!" Dabi yelled. "I want to know how pathetic you'd look!"
Dabi launched himself forward, but it was too late for Aisha to prepare a psychokinetic attack against the psychotic villain. Dabi threw a fiery punch at Shoto straight in the face, sending his youngest brother to fly away from Aisha.
"What face did you wear when you cowered inside the U.A. barrier with the evacuees?!" Dabi bellowed. "Those scared sheep knew you were Endeavor's son and Dabi's brother! And you walked among them even though you're a child of calamity!"
Dabi swiftly dashed forward and assaulted Shoto with a repeating series of fiery punches at him.
"I'd say that's a petty shameless way to act for someone who wants to be a hero, wouldn't you?!" Dabi roared.
Unable to help her boyfriend, Aisha protected herself from Dabi's raging flames coming at her with her Quirk.
Damn! He wasn't kidding! Aisha thought with gritted teeth. His firepower is greater than Endeavor!
"You had every advantage! The best training! An ideal body! Yet you depend on others!" Dabi continued as he kept on swinging his fiery punches at Shoto. "You're a spoiled little brat who never bothered to reach his full potential! I'm sure no one ever told you that to your face! But families should be honest, right?!" He then blasted Shoto up in the air with his blue flames. "You are an aimless, half-baked puppet!"
Dabi propelled himself upwards with his fiery fist.
"You will never amount to anything in this world!" Dabi cried out. "Jetburn!"
Dabi unleashed a fiery punch-like beam right into Shoto's chest, launching his youngest brother directly into the window-shattered building.
"Shoto!" Aisha cried out. She looked up at Dabi with rage. "You monster!"
Aisha soared up towards Dabi and fired multiple sea green crescent-shaped blades of psychokinetic energy at him, but Dabi lifted his left hand and sent a wave of blue flames at Aisha's psychic blades.
"I told you to stay away from our fight." Dabi said. "But I suppose I can have some fun with you. After all, it's been a long time since we played together as kids, huh, princess?"
"Yeah. Most of what you say is true."
Dabi and Aisha turned to the building, where Shoto crashed into the wall with no damage from Dabi's Jetburn punch.
"I was a fool." Shoto responded with a wheezing tone. "One who took far too many detours. I doubted every decision I made."
He neutralized Toya's heat?! Aisha gasped in surprise.
"I thought our father was the only one you focused on this whole time." Shoto stated. "Since we're being honest, it's kind of nice to know I was on your radar, too. While I was training, trying to catch up to my classmates, I discovered something inside myself." He lifted up his ice-covered hand. "Flashfire. I want to show you how I turned it into something better. A move meant to stop you."
Dabi glared at Shoto in fury.
"Call me half-baked if you want, but listen to me. Our father was a madman! Our family was a nightmare! Even so, you're the only one of us who chose to burn people!" Shoto declared.
With that, Shoto blasted off out of the building and charged straight towards Dabi.
"No one else. I won't let you destroy any more innocent lives!" Shoto hollered. "Flashfire Fist: Phosphor! Icebound crash: Coldflame's Pale Blade!"
As Dabi looked on with a vigorous face, Shoto unleashed an assault of the combined fire and ice that engulfed Dabi in place.
"Focus your anger on me! I can put up with your flames!" Shoto yelled. "Give me everything you've got! Maybe that'll help you cool your head!"
Shoto's Coldflame's Pale Blade then launched Dabi away from him, but Dabi managed to recover himself with his fire and landed on the ground.
He's got a body that can withstand my inferno and the power to chill my fire?! He's probably the most fitting opponent I'll ever face! Dabi noted.
Dabi jumped backward and landed back on the ground.
"You go on and on, trying to tell me what's right and what's wrong!" Dabi yelled back. "It just goes to show, we may share the same blood, but we couldn't be more different!"
Just as Dabi touched the ground, Shoto lost control of his Phosphor technique. Aisha watched with wide eyes as the flesh of Dabi's burned skin continued to melt off his face and his arms while his entire body was now engulfed with his own blue flames.
"In this limited superhuman society, a warped rail will never be able to lay beside a straight and narrow one! You and I are proof of that!" Dabi screamed. "We're on parallel tracks but our paths will never meet! For both of our sakes, succumb to my fire and die!"
Dabi instantly pushed his fire into the ground and unleashed volatile eruptions all over the battlefield. But Burnin, Kido, and Onima immediately took the brunt of the Dabi's flaming eruption in order to protect Shoto and Aisha.
"End it, Shoto." Kido said.
"You Todorokis are one hell of a family." Onima said.
Once the Flaming Sidekicks collapsed to the ground, Aisha quickly lifted them high up into the air from Dabi's fiery eruptions with her Quirk.
"I'll take care of them!" Aisha shouted to Shoto. "You take care of your brother!"
"Thank you!" Shoto shouted back as he was already restarting his Phosphor again.
Aisha then soared away.
After Shoto successfully built up his fire and ice, Dabi screamed ferociously and kept unleashing his blue flames towards his youngest brother. But Shoto immediately rushed forward at a bursting speed and delivered a fiery punch straight toward Dabi's chest. Dabi's eyes widened in shock at his brother's fast burst of speed.
"Our paths will cross. I'll force them to." Shoto stated in a whisper. "So please, stop this, brother. Great Glacial Aegir!"
Then, Shoto unleashed a massive wave of cold fire that shot directly through Dabi's chest. His cold fire spread and froze over his brother's blue fire all over Kamino completely in ice.
Aisha dropped her psychokinetic force field and looked ahead to see Shoto grabbing an unconscious Dabi in his right arm.
He…he did it. Aisha thought. Shoto won.
Enjoy and review.
