Author's Note: As you could probably tell by the title, this next segment is loosely based on Freaky (in fact this title was actually the working title for that movie at one point), though this will have some differences from the source material. Because the last thing I want people to think is, "If wanted to watch Freaky, I would just watch Freaky." Also, the story will be a lot more abridged compared to the actual movie because I do not want any of these stories to drag on longer than they should.
This is why I might consider making this segment it's own seperate story at some point.
THURSDAY THE 12th
Emerald, a Spix Macaw, walks into her high school with her friends David, a Scarlet Macaw, and Jackie, a Toucan.
"So do you have a date for Homecoming?" asked David.
"Oh, I'm not sure my mother would approve of me going to Homecoming. She says it's just a bunch of underage drinking and who knows what else that could end in tragedy." said Emerald.
"Emerald, you promised." said Jackie
"I know, but she made me feel so bad."
"Your mom's superpower is guilt. Now your going to miss the Homecoming dance to watch to go watch some hag in green face hanging from a wire?"
"It's just a stupid dance. Why do you want to go, anyway?"
"I have to shoot it for yearbook."
"I'm in it for the drinks, mainly." said David.
Then Emerald and Jackie started to have a talk, about the former's life circumstances. Her dad died not that long ago, and she and her family were still grieving the loss.
"It's been a year. You can't keep living your life for someone else." You've got to start doing things for you." said Jackie.
"Yeah, it's just...it's not that easy. My dad meant the whole world to me." said Emerald.
"I get it. I really do. You don't want to hurt your mom's feelings. It's why I love you. I just... I don't want you to wake up one morning and realize your whole life passed you by because you were busy being everything to everyone but yourself."
"I'll see you at lunch, okay?"
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
That night, the football team was playing it's homecoming game, with Emerald watching from the stands.
She felt anxious, and rightfully so. In her town, there was an urban legend of a serial killer known as "the Blissfield Butcher" who comes every year during Homecoming and kills a varying number of people.
She was worried about the possibility of the Butcher coming back and making her his next victim.
After the game, she was waiting at a bench for her mom to pick her up, but she was late.
Emerald texted her, and called her, but to no avail.
It turns out, her mother was passed out on the couch, having drunken a lot that day. That was how she was coping with the death of her husband.
Emerald was about to call her again, but her phone battery died.
Just then, she noticed a large hawk across the street staring at her. He was wearing a car mechanic's uniform, with a hockey mask over his face.
"Please don't be the Butcher. Please don't be the Butcher." said Emerald.
But her worries were confirmed when the masked hawk pulled out a dagger with a skull on it, to which Emerald started running, with the Butcher giving chase into the stadium.
Eventually, Emerald was cornered in the middle of the field, where she pulls off the Butcher's mask revealing has face. He had a brown face and a black beak. He raised the dagger in the air, which glowed a little from the eyes, and stabbed Emerald in the shoulder, with a similar wound appearing on his shoulder.
In his pain, the Butcher never got to take the dagger out of Emerald's shoulder, as he ran off, having claimed another victim, or so he thought...
That night, after Emerald had been treated at the hospital, and went to bed, she heard whispering in her sleep, until the clock struck midnight.
The next morning, the Butcher wakes up in an unfamiliar bedroom, it has pink walls and make up on a vanity.
Before he could process his new surroundings, Emerald's mother, Pearl opens the door to check in on her daughter.
"Emerald, are you alright sweetie?" she asked.
The Butcher said nothing, still feeling confused as to what was happening.
"Look, I am so sorry about what happened last night. If I hadn't been drinking so much, you would have gotten home safely."
"It's just...been very hard for me ever since your dad died. He loved us and we loved him. God, I should really consider Alcoholics Anonymous."
As she said this, the Butcher looked over on the bedside table and noticed a framed photo of Emerald and her dad.
"Anyway, Breakfast is almost ready. I will give you few minutes."
Pearl then closed the door, and the Butcher examined his new body. It was covered in light blue feathers, and felt more feminine.
As he did, he had completely forgotten about the skull dagger he used last night, now sitting on her nightstand, just out of sight. On the handle, it said, La Dola.
Meanwhile, at the same time, Emerald wakes up in an old abandoned mill, on top of a mattress.
"Where am I?" she said, but the voice that came out of her beak didn't sound like her. It was more deep and masculine.
"Hello?"
"Oh my god, why do i sound like that?"
She look around until she sees her new face in mirror.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
FRIDAY THE 13TH
Emerald was freaking out, as she ran out of the mill and into town, where she tried to find her friends who might be able to help her out.
Eventually she found her friends, and they freaked out and ran away.
After a brief scuffle, Emerald was able to convince Jackie and David that it was her by citing off information only she would know, like her favorite movie, her favorite snack, etc.
In the bathroom, Emerald told Jackie and David what happened to her.
"He stabbed me with this weird, old looking dagger, but when he stabbed me, we both got hurt."
Jackie asked, "What do you mean?"
"When he stabbed me, he instantly got a wound too, but it was in the exact same spot, the left shoulder, and late last night I kept hearing the daggers name, like this weird whispering in my head, La Dola, La Dola, I think La Dola caused this."
David gets out his phone and looks it up, upon hearing this.
"Man, this guys bladder is huge."
This comment prompts David to ask, "Is everything huge?"
"David!" snapped Jackie.
"You know this is the boy's room, right?"
"She's got a dick in her wing and you're wearing Chanel No. 5, I think we're past labels."
Emerald shakes her lower half as her new Arbor Vitae moves around.
"This is ridiculous. You guys have got to see this, this is like a floppy anteater."
David shows Emerald his phone with an article about La Dola and asks, "Is this it?"
Emerald's face lights up as she says, "Yes, thats it! That's the dagger!"
David reads the article.
"La Dola, an ancient Aztecian dagger used in ritual sacrifice. According to an inscription on the blade, if the sacrifice is not successful, the souls of the two people are swapped and the change becomes permanent after 24 hours."
Emerald then realizes what they have to do.
"So we have to stab the Butcher with La Dola before midnight or I'm stuck in this body forever, is that right?"
"Yes."
Emerald notices the time.
"We have nine hours to find it. Luckily, I know where it is, the last place I was before the swap, my bedroom."
That evening, they headed over to Emerald's house, which happened to be empty for the time being because her mom had left for a shift that evening.
But when they got to the bedroom and saw the nightstand, the dagger was not there!
"It was right here, Where could it have possibly-wait a minute...The Butcher! He took it so I wouldn't be able to switch back!"
David then realized something.
"He's going to the Old Mill, where Homecoming is being hosted this year. If we get there quickly, we can still stop him before anyone else gets killed."
So, quickly, they drove over to the Old Mill, where Emerald had woken up that morning, and when they got inside, they found the Butcher, having just slaughtered a few of the guests as everyone was trying to escape.
Emerald lunged at the Butcher, causing him to drop La Dola on the floor, where Emerald quickly grabbed it, and stabbed the Butcher, swtiching them back to their original bodies.
The crowd watched as it happened, but they did not waste time questioning it, and instead they dogpiled the Butcher and killed him, once and for all.
Thus ending his reign of terror.
