Lift Off
As Odd prepares for his class president speech, his father gives him a card. "This came while you were at prom. Since you slept all day yesterday, I waited." "Thanks, Dad," Odd says as he hugs his father. After his father leaves, he opens the card: "Congratulations! You did! And it only took four years and lots of tears. With many more to share. No worries, colleges have beer to help.-LG." "What a fun and weird card," Odd said. Jeremy is reading his card from "LG" while sitting on his bed. "I am trying to figure out who sent me this card," he thought. As he thinks to himself, Aelita calls him on the phone. "Good morning, beautiful," Jeremy says as he picks up the phone. Aelita blushes, "Good morning. Did you get a postcard too?" "I did." "I have a bad feeling about it." "Aelita, you said the same thing about prom." "I think they're connected." Jeremy sighs. "Listen, we're finally at a place where no villains are after us. I think the constant feeling of survival has gotten to you." Aelita shakes her head. She takes out a necklace her mother gave her. It has a diamond shape at the center with pearls around the chain. "I still have a bad feeling about it." "How about this? Stop worrying about the postcards today; then you and I can look into the cards after graduation," Jeremy requests. "Okay. Deal," Aelita said.
The graduates arrive at the event hall to get their graduation stoles placed on them. "Man, we did it," Ulrich said. "We sure did," Ash said. "Now, we are going to spend thousands of dollars for a piece of decorated cardstock," Rocky said. "Stop. It is more than that," Moxie said. "Keep telling yourself that." Moxie looks around." Where is everyone?" "Odd and Dexter are getting one last scolding for Headmaster Chidh, Yumi is getting her stole, and Brock and Cressila are arriving shortly. I think Charlemagne was in tears this morning," Ulrich said. "Of course, her older sister is going to start university soon," Rocky said. "I see Jeremy, Aelita, Rosé, and Dawn over there," Moxie said. They walk over with cards. "What are those?" Ulrich asks. "Cards with our names pronunciations," Dawn said. "I see. Where are the dynamic duo?" "Their mother wants so many pictures," Ash said. "The Queen's last two children are graduating high school. If only my mother shed those tears," Moxie said. "It will catch up to her," Yumi said. "If you say so." Hiroshima arrives with a cup of tea. "I'm nervous," she says as she takes a sip. "Don't be," Cressila says as she arrives with Brock, Alexis, Jared, and Sajin."All we have to do is show up," Sajin said. "I know, but going to higher education. The courses are harder." "I ready for the parties," Jared said. "Of course you are," Alexis teases. Moxie walks over to the field where the ceremony will be held and sees Allison and Ash J posing for pictures for their family. "Grandma Liz, are we done?" Ash J asks. "Nonsense! You're our last babies," Peggy said. "What about Aelita?" "We took pictures of her already." Allison notices Moxie spying and speaks up. "Look, I think Moxie wants a few pictures with her man, and I want a few pictures with my man." "Your man? Her man?" Fred questions. "Yeah, gotta go," Ash J says as he drags his sister away. "Thank you." "No worries. We need a break before post-graduation photos," Allison said. They laugh, and Moxie growls but stops when Rocky's brother walks by. "Hey, twins. Your friends want a group photo!" The pair meets up with their friends. After a few photos, Aelita brings up the postcards. "I thought we talked about this," Jeremy said. "I think it is someone from Kadic Academy," Dawn said. "Maybe, but who has these initials?" Aelita asks. "Right now. I don't care. I want to walk across the stage and eat the food," Odd said. The group groans. "Omar, food is not the only thing that matters," Dexter said. "No? What does?" "Freedom from Dean Fucks Everything!" "Hallelujah!" Rosé said. Dean Kathin approaches the group. "Hello! Please line up at your assigned spots." "Yes, Dean Kathin," the group responded. As they head out, Dean Kathin taps Allison on the shoulder. "It was a pleasure being the dean to the princess regent." "Thank you. Getting to know you was an experience getting to know you too." "Please know. I loathe you and all of your friends." Allison nods. "I hope my cousin and her friend have a pleasant senior year," Allison says as she walks away. Jeremy quickly follows her. "What did he say?" "His usual shit." "Alright. Listen, when you're queen, me and you are going to fire his ass first thing." "Second thing," Allison said. "Second?" Jeremy's puzzled. "I want my first act to be something positive and happy. Then we can fire his ass for Alexis and hire her." Jeremy nods. Daah lines up and chats with Sajin and Ash. "We made it!" "How are you?" Sajin asks. "Alive." "Besides that." "Good. I felt like the past two years have been shit because of my feelings. Now, I have a clear path." "Good. I can see a change in you," Ash said. Cressila arrives with Jared, who is eating a donut. "Don't judge me. I am hungry, and Dean Kathin has been stressing me out for the last time." The Knights laughs.
The seniors walk through the hallways of all the school buildings. Then, they fly over the event field as their families cheer. Lastly, they land and walk down the aisle to their seats: the school, national, and district anthems play. Then Alexis recites the Fairy's Oath of Faith. The school acknowledges Sanghash and reveals they placed a cap on his grave marker. Dexter takes the stage and gives his speech about growing from children into young adults. Odd takes the stage next and gives a speech about all the great things everyone will do while remembering that at any time, they can come back for a hug, support, laundry, a meal, or even a shoulder to cry on. Odd ends his speech by thanking his parents, who worship the ground he walks on because they believe he can do wonders in the world. The last part of the speech brings Margret to tears. After speeches, the graduates perform "Ordinary People" by John Legend. Then, the moment of truth, the diplomas. Dean Kathin calls each student individually, and Headmaster Chidh gives each student a certificate and shakes their hand. Diplomas will be mailed out during the summer. Headmaster Chidh speaks to the graduates. "Graduates, as you embark on a journey into the future, please remember that we're proud of you and love you." Dean Kathin rolls his eyes. "Now, move your tassel from right to left." The graduates did this. "Now, I present the Graduating Class of Lakeshore Academy High School!" The graduates throw their caps in the air, and the families cheer. "Now, you may go and hug your families," Headmaster Chidh says as the graduates run to their families.
I'm proud of you! You did it! I love you! Let me get a picture with my graduate!
After the ceremony, the school hosts a reception. "It's over," Jeremy said. "We did it. We graduated," Ulrich said. "Now, on to college courses," Yumi said. "Right now, I want a carefree summer," Allison said. "Me too," Dawn said. "I am ready for my cruise," Alexis said. "All I know is, I wish Ms. Hertz could see me. She had her doubts," Odd said. "Well, you can visit and show off your diploma," Aelita said. "No way! I do not want to be anywhere a school." Ash laughs. "Me neither! I don't even want to read any emails from the university," Ash said. "Let's make a toast," Brock said. "To us. Through all the laughter, tears, and blood. We did it," Allison said. "To friendships, love, and memories," Cressila adds. "And too many more, too," Aelita adds at the end. They click their glasses together. "Group photo," Sajin says. Everyone gathers for a photo with their Pokemon. The cats smile and join in the photo as well. "Okay," Lola, Brock's mother, says. "Say, graduation!" "Graduation!"
On Earth, there is a room in a stone building in Europe. A young adult sips tea as she writes in her journal. She brushes her hair and smiles. "I saved his notes. Since he was a weak man, I will finish. Those brats put me in here, and I want out." The young lady looks at photos from high school and circles ten photos. "Such a shame. I wonder if I can control it. I think I can." A computer beeps. "Yes. I have access to it. I can bring it back and control the outsider. I wonder if they got my graduation cards. I know they got my prom prank when William visited." A woman knocks on the door. "Good evening. You have finished your courses. Your ceremony will be tomorrow." "Thank you," the young lady said. The young lady looks at her transcript and smiles. "Laura G-99%." She smiles. "I knew it. Now, I can go after those Lyoko Motherfucker Warriors," Laura says as she laughs.
