Chapter 3
Planning and flashbacks
The next few weeks went by steadily but for Kara slowly she couldn't wait to become Lena's
wife.
Lena and Kara had moved in together sort of they would either stay in Lena's apartment
or Kara's loft alternating between the two.
The 2 women met at Eliz's house in midvale with Alex. "so dears how is engagement treating
you two"? Eliza asked.
"Great"! Both women answered in unison looking into each others eyes and laughing
"Although what is the living arrangements since you both have apartments"? Alex asked.
"We are actually going to get a house together". Lena said. "Yeah we are still looking". Kara
said.
"I don't want to be away from my queen". Kara said looking lovingly into Lena's eyes
"Nor do i want to be away from you either my hero". Lena said staring lovingly into Kara's eyes.
"Uuggghhh You two are cute together its sickening". Alex joked.
They all laughed including Alex.
"Well me and Kara should go". Lena said. "Yeah we have some houses to look at". Kara said.
Later that afternoon the 2 women arrived at the east end of town in a nice little suburb area of
National city.
"Well this is a nice little area". Lena said. " yeah but the last time i was in this
area i fought spike.". Kara said. "Spike? Who is spike"? Lena asked.
"Oh right sorry that alien
lizard that belonged to that little alien girl". Kara explained.
"Wait the one that grows giant when
he gets anxious or scared"? Lena asked. "Yeah"! Kara answered.
"Well darling i don't know how feel about being around a dragon but i do know how i feel about
you". Lena said cupping Kara's face tenderly.
"I love you my queen". Kara said. "I love you too my hero". Lena said. The two shared a quick
kiss.
They approached a white stucco house with red and blue trim a gorgeous lawn.
A realtor stood out front.
"You must be mrs danvers and mrs luthor". She said.
"Yes i'm Lena and this is Kara". Lena said.
"So you're interested in buying this house"? The realtor asked.
"Yes we are"! Lena said.
"In order to find what suites you best i need to get some information what is it exactly that you're
looking for?" she asked.
"Well we are looking for a house because we are engaged to be married, and we both live in
separate apartments at the moment". Kara said. "So honestly we're looking for something to
start the next chapter in our lives together". Kara continued.
"I see! Well then in that case this listing is great for starting a family. It has 3 bedrooms 2 baths a
wonderfully made kitchen not gourmet mind you but great nonetheless granite tops tiles floor
oak wood cabinets". The realtor said.
Continuing the rest of the tour of the house the realtor continued talking about the amenities and
describing the rest of house the kind of neighborhood it is.
"That brings our tour to an end". The realtor said. "We like the house". Lena said looking over to
Kara. "we think its perfect for us". Kara said. "What do you think babe"? Kara asked looking to
Lena. "i think we found our home". Lena said.
"Great then we just need to sign some paperwork and complete the payment process". The
realtor said. "Just come to our office tomorrow morning and we can finalize the paper work". She
said.
"Thank you we will". Lena said and shook her hand. "Yes thank you". Kara said shaking
her hand.
"Shall we go darling"? Lena said to Kara. Kara looped her arm around Lena's smiling as they
walked out. Making their back to Kara's loft which didn't take long since Kara flew them there.
Since revealing her identity to the world after the Lex and Nixley fight with all stone she didn't
have to hide anymore she was free to use her powers at will.
No more running to where nobody could see put on her Supergirl costume it was freeing not
having to hide who she is anymore.
As they flew Kara flashed back to that afternoon six months ago.
"Are you ready Kara"? Cat asked a nervous Kara. "it's really weird hearing you call me Kara
instead of Kira but yeah i'm ready". She said releasing a nervous breath.
Cat laughed. "I know Kara but changes are coming. So are you ready to start"? Cat said.
"Yeah im still a little worried for my friends and familys saftey after this is over. But maybe this is
a good thing i don't have to hide who i am anymore Lex is gone and Lillian too the biggest threat
to me and my cousin and all aliens for that matter can't hurt anyone anymore. With Lex trapped
in the phantom zone and Lillian dead. Kara trailed off.
"Yes that is true. Still wish you would tell me who Superman is". Cat muttered. "Trust me miss
Grant if i told you you probably wouldn't believe me". Kara said.
"Well lets begin". Cat said.
"Good evening National city you know her as Kara Danvers Catco's new editor and chief but
tonight it is my pleasure to introduce to you Supergirl". Cat said as the camera turned to Kara
wearing her favorite brown plaid button down shirt and jeans.
"So Kara you have decided to come forward and reveal your identity to the world. Why"? Cat
asked.
Well actually it was you cat and Lena Luthor who helped me reach the realization that i
didn't Supergirl anymore". Kara said.
"Oh really how so"?
Cat asked shocked by the
question.
"Well when i gave the speech to empower the people after Lex and Nixley used the
all stone to steal everyone's life force. The people demonstrated ingenuity and creativity coming
together. I realized they don't need me to save them im supposed to guide them to create a
lasting hope that will last for centuries". Kara said.
I was so worried that my friends and family would be in danger if they knew who i was so i
created Supergirl but you Cat and and Lena helped me realize that whatever comes whoever
comes we must all stand united against any threat". Kara finished.
"Well it sounds like it was great advice would elaborate more"? Cat asked.
"Um sure well you called me and i told you i was struggling mainly with my duel identity and you
said find the one thing i should focus on. I went on to say i had something holding me back from
doing just that and inner turmoil that i was torn. You said. "oh you're Supergirl so what you have
always been the biggest obstacle in my way". Kara said.
"When i told Lena about it and the editor and chief position you offered me and hired me for.
She told me it's a great opportunity and that i should take it.
I told her what if i need to change into Supergirl and she told me it doesn't matter comes if they
come for this family we will face it head on we will protect this family". Kara continued.
"Well that is out standing advice and you decided to reveal your identity"? Cat asked.
"Yes i decided the time for secrets is over". Kara said.
Cat then turned to the camera there you have it National city an exclusive interview with Kara
Danvers Kara ZOR-EL Supergirl".
"Ok and we're clear". The camera man said.
"That was great Kara it will air tonight". Cat said.
"Ok miss Grant but i have to go now". Kara
said.
"Ok i will see you tomorrow morning". Cat said.
Kara flashed back to the present as they approached Kara's loft. She flew in both of them
landing.
"Kara what happened it looked like you zoned out on the flight here". Lena asked.
"Oh sorry Lena i was thinking about my interview 6 months ago". Kara said.
"Oh when you revealed your identity". Lena said.
"Yeah sometimes i worry i made a mistake
what if something happened to you to all of you". Kara said.
"Darling do you remember what i told you? Whatever comes we will face it together if they come
for this family we will face it together". Lena said trying consoling her fiance.
Kara hugged Lena she mumbled into the crook of Lena's neck. "Thank you Lena".
"Anytime darling i will always be here for you. I love you". Lena said.
"I love you too". Kara said.
They sat down on the couch to relax Kara rested herself in Lena's arms relishing in the feeling
of safety Lena gave her.
It had been a long day both women were tired. "What do you say we turn in early tonight"? Lena
suggested. "I think it's a good idea we can get a fresh start tomorrow. Kara agreed.
They made their way to Kara's bedroom not bothering to change their clothes they took their
shoes off and they crawled into bed. Kara being the little Koala that she was snuggled up to
Lena. Lena in turn wrapping her arms around Kara falling fast asleep in each others arms.
The next morning as the sun crept through the bedroom window the 2 women groggily awoke.
Getting out of bed to get ready for the day ahead of them. Since they had to go to the realtors
office this morning to sign the paperwork for the house. Then Kara had to go into work as did
Lena.
They made their way to the kitchen to have breakfast and Kara heated their coffee with her heat
vision.
After they ate they headed out the door.
They arrived at the realtors office in the business district they walked in.
"Ah good morning miss Luthor and miss Danvers if you would please follow me we can sign the
papers and you will be all set". She said.
They followed her to her office in the back after being seated they signed the necessary
paperwork. "Now just the payment for the house and it is $25000". The realtor said.
Lena handed her a check and the deed was handed to them. "There you are have a great day
ladies". She said.
They left the office. " i'll see you later tonight Kara". Lena said.
"I'll see you later tonight Lena". Kara said.
They shared a quick kiss and Lena headed to work as did Kara.
When Kara got to Catco she took the elevator up exiting she walked to her office.
"Well Kara i see your glowing. Lena isn't pregnant is she"? Cat said coming in.
"What no of course not"! Kara said shocked which made Cat laugh. "You're to easy Kara. but in
all honesty you're as happy as a woman who is pregnant but given the fact i know how bubbly
you are it seems normal for you". Cat said.
Kara smiled shyly at Cats comment.
"You know miss Grant you've never really scared me much before.but when you joke you do".
Kara said smiling. " "i know it's weird right. It's not like me."
Cat said. "Yeah but i guess i could
get used to it". Kara said.
"I'll tell you what i'll try to act like i did before and how i act now and mix them up". Cat said.
"Wow really ok sounds interesting". Kara smiled intrigued and amused wondering how Cat
would accomplish this.
Cat left to attend to some business with the board.
Kara got to work she had a busy day. Going over some story ideas for tomorrows columns she
had all but 3 picked out she had already covered todays issue completed.
"Tammy could you please send them in please"? Kara asked her assistant tammy.
"Sure thing miss Danvers". She answered.
They came in Hannah, Jonathan and Andrew. "Alright everyone we need 3 stories for
tomorrows edition so lets hear your ideas". Kara said.
Andrew spoke up first. "What about you miss Danvers with yours and miss Luthor's wedding
coming up. The sister and daughter of the most xenophobic individuals on the planet is marrying
an alien and the most famous one non other than supergirl herself a kryptonian".
He said. "I don't know Andrew i don't like being the center of attention".
"But you where as supergirl". He said. "Yes but i never enjoyed all i ever wanted to do was help.
But if you want can follow this story". Kara said. "But don't go nuts okay". Kara added.
"Ok sure thing miss Danvers.
"Now we need 2 more stories so Hannah,johnathan what do you got for me"? Kara asked.
"Hannah what have you got lined up"? Kara asked.
"Well i have an idea on follow up stories the Lena Luthor foundation and the Dreamer outreach
center". Hannah said. "Hmm yes that's a great idea Hannah run with that". Kara said.
"Johathan what about you what have you got"? Kara asked.
"Honestly i have nothing really news worthy sorry boss" Jonathan said.
"That's ok Jonathan i actually have an idea we can put your 2 stories as separate articles
Hannah. one of you can cover the follow up with the Lena Luthor foundation and the other can
cover the follow up with the Dreamer
outreach center if that's ok with you". Kara mused.
"Uh well yeah sure that way it would be easier to cover both stories and we could share the by
line". Hannah said smiling grateful she didn't have to cover both.
"Yes i can do that fantastic idea boss. Thanks Hannah". Jonathan said.
"Great work everyone and this way we could hopefully help the LGBTQ community". Kara said.
After that the 3 of them went to tackle their stories.
Kara stared out at the newsroom with a smile happy to see everyone working together happily.
Meanwhile across town at L-CORP Lena was busy reapairng all the damage Lex had done.
As well as green lighting some projects of her own. Like non no cherri a new version while with
the help of Kara and Brainy she could help humanity with the do no harm program but this time
she will start with felons and the inmates. But only after haveing Kara and Brainy's stamp of
approval using Kryptonian and Calooan tech as well as Myriad too as well.
Since Kara allowed her to use Myriad since it is probably the most dangerous device in the
universe.
She pressed her intercom. "Jess could you please come in here". She said.
A minute later Jess came in. "yes miss Luthor". She said.
"Jess how is my schedule for the rest of the day"? Lena asked her. Jess looked at her schedule
for today. "Well you have a meeting with the new board tis morning at 11:45 am just welcoming
them to the company and going over bacic information on L-CORP projects everything detailing
the current status of all the departments". Jess said. "
"At 1:45 pm you have your dress fitting
agent Danvers and mis Null will arrive too to accompany you. At 4:30 pm you have reports you
requested from all of projects and anything relating to Mr Luthor. Then that is it for today". She
finished.
"Ok very well go ahead and take the day off at 1:30 Jess and thank you". Lena said.
Lena noticed Jess was nervous.
"Jess what's wrong"? She asked.
"It's just i hope you know you can count on me and my loyalty to this company and you Miss
Luthor. I never liked Lex or trusted him". She said.
"It's ok Jess". Lena said. "I know the only people who are loyal to Lex were Otis and my mother".
Lena said and smiled reassuringly.
Jess breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you miss Luthor". Jess said.
"You're welcome Jess". Lena said and smiled.
"Now i'm leaving for the board meeting". Lena said.
Lena left the office heading to the board meeting office 4 floors down.
When she arrived everyone had already gathered Lena had arrived 10 minutes early.
"You must be miss Luthor". A man said addressing her as she sat down. "Yes i am now since
we're all here i say we begin early. Since this is a new board of directors here i say introductions
are in order so let's go around the room and introduce our selves". Lena said.
"James Mason".
"Olivia Holmes".
"Benson Reed".
"Mark Johnson".
"Jessica Winters".
"Roger Reynolds".
"Very well to business then we are pulling anything projects, collabs, anything having to do with
my brother. He tainted this company we are going to turn this company around to make it a
force for good. Which is why all of you are here! Lex's reach and influence ran deep so my hope
is that with a fresh start we begin a new era for this company". Lena said looking around the
room to the board members who all nodded in agreement.
"Good now let us go over projects for the next year as well as budgets and costs for present and
future projects and collaborations". Lena said as they dove into it.
A Couple of hours later the meeting adjourned and Lena made her way back to her office.
Meanwhile as 4:00 pm fast approached Alex and Nia were on their way L-CORP to pick Lena
up for her dress fitting.
Exiting the car Alex and Nia made their way up to Lena's office
" hey Lena you ready"? Alex asked.
"Yeah i'm ready lets go". Lena said leaving with the 2 women.
They had Lena try on several dresses. "Come on Lena let's see your run way walk impress me".
Alex joked.
Lena came out in a light blue dress walking out of the dressing room strutting like she was a
model just to appease Alex.
"Yes thats the one. Nia said.
