In Gunn's Tomb…
The Golden Scorpions looked around for clues as their latest crew member approached the remains of the Great Captain Gunn himself.
"Captain my Captain, allow me to work me mojo and see what the dead man saw." Ol' Scratch offered the captain while everyone watched the skeletal shaman revive the man back from the grave.
His eyes glowed back to life as the mist of magic steamed off the carcass without flesh or skin from decades of mummification. The breath of undeath was exhaled from the severed head resting on the armrest of his throne. The dried and picked at bones rattled with resurrection while the body twitched violently then soon took notice that there were people, a pirate crew that surrounded his once lifeless body.
"By Jove, it seemed that recruiting the creature seemed to start benefiting us. Though in quite a disturbing manner. Still, whatever works in our favor and helps us find the gold." The Ensign Emmet muttered while he was still a little bit afraid of the shaman who once tried to kill them.
"Now, let's see what has happened here." Gaspard declared while Isabel approached the reanimated skeleton once a famed pirate before the Ninja Pigs done him in.
She was being cautious since the undead were kind of new to her.
"Hey, Bone man, can you hear us? Do you know where you are?" She questioned the remains of Captain Gunn while keeping a grip on her sword just in case.
She wants to find Ratbeard but not die trying.
"Yes, I can hear you, Miss. Wait, I can talk? I can see? I have returned to my sanctuary, but I am no longer drawing breath anymore." Gunn's skull spoke in somewhat confusion as he looked at the girl, "I don't remember much about my passing, only a sharp pain in the neck…"
"Yeah, that makes sense…" Lasko breathed while scratching the back of his head at the awkwardness, it's not a pleasant thing to talk about a man's death, especially since it's the dead man you are talking to.
"The Ninja Pigs got you. Shouldn't have swindled all that Yum-Yum Fruit." Isabel answered him, trying to lighten the mood with humor, "Now, I need to know what happened here. Where did all the gold go?"
"Ooh, that Ratbeard…" Gunn grumbled through his teeth, "He and that Watermole tribe slithered in through the pipe system and stole all my gold! Can you believe it? Where is the honor in that? I made this treasure hunt to teach pirates the true value of being a pirate!"
"I can understand your outrage for Ratbeard is no honorable rodent." Egg Shen sympathized with the skull as it seemed all this trouble was caused by Ratbeard's dishonor.
"Did the Blight say where he was going?" Bonnie wondered as she leaned down to the skull.
"Not from him but from one of the Watermoles. They are planning something in that volcano they have, Waponi Wu. Get my treasure back and give Ratbeard what for!" The skull demanded before the magic faded away and returned dead once more.
"Oh, I plan to." Isabel promised the dead man, "Let's go."
On Waponi Wu…
The ship was hidden well as the crew needed everyone to be able to reach the volcano, the treasure, and Ratbeard.
The Waponi Wu were everywhere and they seemed even more violent than ever. It seemed that they were planning something big.
"Oh no… the Sacrifice Ritual is beginning…" Nanu Nanu breathed with great distress.
"Sacrifice Ritual?" Isabel questioned the water mole who seemed greatly distressed.
"Rise from smoke and birthed in fire."
"Offering of gold and flesh upon the pyre."
"Rise God of Magma and Death."
"And steal away Skull Island's final breath."
The crew was stunned by the mantra Nanu Nanu voiced.
"It is an evil spell to summon the Fire God trapped within the volcano, long ago sealed away by forces of good and pirates. Waponi plans to use gold and Ratbeard to free evil Fire God and destroy enemies, Pirates, Water Moles, Monkeys and all." The spearman explained in great detail, "Did not think crazy enough to try. It means death for us all."
"And you didn't think about telling us this sooner?!" Bonnie questioned her crewmate.
"That's why they teamed up with Ratbeard… they needed him as the sacrifice." Lasko breathed in horror.
"We need to get up there now!" Isabel ordered with great worry on her face!
The Race to the Volcano soon began!
On top of the Volcano…
"HELP!" Ratbeard howled while he was hanging by a foot over a fiery death that was waiting for him!
"Captain, the gold is being tossed in the volcano!" Gaspard informed while Isabel was more concerned about the rat.
"RATBEARD!" Isabel howled with fear.
"Let's go!" Egg Shen declared as the Golden Scorpions soon confronted the Water Moles and their massive leaders.
Chumba Wumba was a massive brute as he howled with rage, "Gugu! Goonigugu!"
"Rise from smoke and birthed in fire."
"Offering of gold and flesh upon the pyre."
"Rise God of Magma and Death."
"And steal away Skull Island's final breath."
The Water Moles chanted behind him!
"Take them down!" Isabel ordered as her crew sprang into action!
Lasko, Egg Shen, Itzen Kaan and Isabel took on Chumba Wumba personally!
"Goonigugu!" He declared as he pounded on his chest!
"I have no idea what you said but you are going down!" Isabel declared, barely missing his fist!
"Careful, Izzy! He looks like a bruiser!" Lasko warned before getting punched in the gut, "Yep, a bruiser…"
"Fallen One, feel the wrath of Itzen Kaan!" Itzen Kaan declared while Egg Shen and Isabel combined their attacks together!
Lasko then joined in after recovering from the attack and leaped into the air for the final attack!
But as it seemed that they had one, Chumba Wumba rose again to full strength!
"GOONIGUGU!" He declared as he pounded on his chest!
"Are you kidding me?!" Isabel questioned as she was knocked off her feet by the giant Water Mole!
"Izzy!" Lasko yelled as he helped Isabel up and avoided the attack!
"No matter how many times we knock him down he keeps getting up and there is more of them coming!" Bonnie Anne growled in frustration.
"How are we going to stop the ceremony?!" Emmet questioned while he fired at one of the Waponi warriors!
"Break the Tikis! If you break the Tikis, you break their will!" Ratbeard warned the crew while he was hanging upside down.
"He is right. The Tikis are the source of Fire God's power. No tikis, no power. No power, no freedom." Nanu Nanu agreed.
"Again, you didn't think of telling us sooner?" Bonnie questioned the Water Mole.
"… Forgot to." Nanu Nanu admitted.
"Alright, break the Tikis!" Isabel ordered as she avoided the attack and sliced the tiki with her blade!
Egg Shen sent it into splinters for a second!
Bonnie Anne blasted the third!
And Emmet and the Marchioness finished off the last one in style while Goldy squeaked in victory! The Water Moles fled while Nanu Nanu and Lasko Fled from the volcano.
"That's right you hairy jellyfish, run! And don't let us see you again!" Lasko threatened them while waving his sword!
When the battle was over, they circled the head honcho.
"So, what do we do with him?" Bonnie Anne questioned.
"Gugu! Goonigugu!"
Then before anyone could stop him, Chumba Wumba flung himself into the volcano.
"…Pity, he would have rather die than face the humiliation and failure of his God. May he find peace in the next life." Egg Shen prayed while Emmet scoured the remaining treasure.
"It's not a king's ransom that was desired but it's still plenty." Emmet informed them then procured the chalice they needed to collect for Avery, "And we got what Avery wanted. Now that leaves only one thing… what to do with him?"
"PLEASE, HELP! GET ME DOWN!" Ratbeard pleaded while he was hung from the rope by his leg.
"Help you? Considering that you betrayed our crew, your allies, and your own adopted daughter? You have a lot of nerve to ask such a thing-!" Lasko berated the old rat.
"Cut him down, Lasko."
The rat pirate then turned to the captain.
"Izzy…"
"Cut him down. I need to see him, face to face."
Lasko nodded and did just that as Ratbeard landed safely.
"…Listen, I know that I am a treacherous seadog-."
"That's putting it lightly." Emmet snarled at the rat.
"But I promise not only to make it up to you and everyone else from now on." He promised them.
"You can't honestly believe she would-."
But then the crew watched that Izzy hugged him.
"Awe, Izzy, I knew you would-."
POW!
Ratbeard was then knocked out.
"He sleeps in the brig until he can earn my trust and Lasko, you'll watch him." Isabel ordered then began to walk while the crew was surprised, "Let's go."
"Let's."
Their first adventure was over, but many more were to come.
