I was proud of my Aunt Cassie she went out of her way to help Ryder and I hoped this Matt was able to help her, it was nice to see him come out of his shell a bit. I really did hope it all worked out for him, he was a good kid and I just hoped they changed because I did want him to go down the right path. I had a hard time after Aria left to go back to school, I know it was only 3 hours away but I miss her a ton. Klea could tell me all she wants how it will be fine but her boyfriend is here with her. In fact he is working with Ian and getting better at his job and we are working with my dad. I am literally living my dream. Klea and I did end up getting out marks back and we were at the top of our class, Mr. Ruzek even gave us an award for helping saving his daughter. We received the highest grades in the class, I mean of course we did because we are literally awesome.
Dad was going to let Klea and I help on his next case, he wanted to see what we could do, Klea was currently at our house just in case and honestly she was keeping my mind off Aria. We just finished eating dinner and Titan curled up on my lap, Jax was laying next to Roxy she was pregnant again and Orianna didn't want to get her fixed. She was literally due any second, we did give the first batch of pups away but my parents were going to let the twins keep one each. This house was going to full of dogs, I did eventually want to move out on my own, we were all talking about getting a place. Klea, Adam, Aria and I. Right now Hunter was staying in Toronto with Piper and they were all staying in our house along with Riley and Jared. Things for them ended up working out too, I know they planned on opening up a pet rescue vet place. I think they would be good at it they literally save an animal every week its crazy.
My dad's phone rand and Klea and I literally jumped to our feet, "Detective Chapman" he answered, he looked at us and we followed him out the door. Once we arrived he held us back as Ian came out, "this is bad boss, might be a bit much for them" he said, "We can handle it dad I promise" I said, "define bad" dad said, "child bad like horrific" Ian said, dad looked at me, and I mean it was a child that made me want to do this even more. "Dad we can handle it" I said and Klea nodded, "okay show us Ian" Dad said and we all went in Titan followed Jax's lead. Damn Ian was kidding when he said it was bad this kid was like what 6 years old and he was shot in the head. He probably didn't even see it coming, this made me want to find the SOB who did this. Klea was right there with me I felt her rage, "dad we need to find him" I said, "that is why we here" he said and we all started looking for clues. I think Jax and Titan found something because they barked. They found the gun and Ian took it to be analyzed hoping for fingerprints. We didn't have a lot to go on here but I guess we would be working on it for a while. My guess was this was a drug deal gone bad and this poor kid was the retaliation hit. I hated it but things like this did happen.
Ian was not able to pull fingerprints off the gun but we did find that the gun was registered to a Colin Davies and were headed to his place now, I know my dad was taking the lead on this one. Klea and I were okay with that we knew this case as serious I mean it involved a child and we did want to learn from him so we were just watching. As soon as Colin saw my dad he booked it and he laughed, "Jax!, Titan" he said and they both ran after him, Titan went right for his nuts. I mean not sure why he did that but it was affective, and Jax tackled him to the ground. We brought Colin in for questioning but he was not much help either. I don't know why he ran but he sold his gun for cash apparently and whoever bought it never relicensed it, I felt like he was lying though. I would lie too if I shot a 6 year old in the head, I bet he thought it was someone else and panicked, but turns out he had an alibi for that night. There were several people to back up his story too so were back to square one. We had a minor description of the guy he sold the gun too but like it was nothing. "I feel like we have nothing" Klea said, "we don't but something will turn up we will figure this out" dad said, he never gave up on stuff like this. It was a kid so I knew we would go until we solved it, this was nice working with my dad, I felt like it what I was meant to do all long.
It was 4 am and we were still working I received a text from Orianna and Roxy had her puppies, there were 3 1 boy and 2 girls. I think my mom decided to just keep them all. I mean why the hell not right, they were most likely going to be small like Roxy, her last pups were, but they all looked like Jax, right now we couldn't tell much of anything. It was a nice distraction from this gruesome case but we needed to get back to it. I was so tired but I knew we needed to keep working. Jess kept bringing coffee I really liked her she helped me out a lot even when I was younger, I felt like the harder we looked the less we came up with. "Max, Klea go home get some sleep" Dad said, "no we want to help solve this" I said, and Klea agreed we were not going to give up. "I have something" Adam said as he came over with a video, it wasn't much but we were able to pick up a man leaving the house in a blue trick and a partial plate. We traced it and had a location and we all headed out, I hoped we nailed this guy he deserved to rot in jail, I mean that poor kid. This guy did also match the description that Colin gave us and we were able to get to him easily, I felt like it was almost too easy. It took a bit of questioning but he finally confessed to killing the kid. He thought it was someone else and didn't think he would get caught, he tried to hide from it. News Flash man you are in Adventure Bay no one gets away with anything. Not while my dad, Klea and I were here no way no sir!
