Elena made her way inside the Salvatore boarding house. She was beyond pissed, and that feeling only increased as she'd driven to the Salvatore's. At first, she'd tried to tell herself that it might not be them that stole the coffins, but who was she kidding? Of course, it was them. This was their MO. When one stupid plan failed, and they somehow managed to survive it, they formed another equally stupid or more stupid plan.
Elena honestly wasn't sure what pissed her off the most. The fact that she was once again kept from being able to process the craziness that had just become her life, the fact that she had to clean up after the Salvatore's again, or the fact that they had kidnapped three of her siblings. All she knew was that she was starting to get a little fed up with all of this. It didn't help that it had been less than twenty-four hours since Damon had accidently stuck a stake in her shoulder and then forced her to intervene to save his life.
Elena walked into the living room and found both Damon and Stefan having a drink. "Have the two of you lost your damned minds?!"
Damon turned when he heard her voice and narrowed his eyes at her. "Where the hell have you been?"
Elena ignored the question and focused on her anger and frustration. "This has got to be a record for the most stupid thing the two of you have ever done. Stefan, you used to be at least somewhat smarter than this. Did losing your humanity make you an idiot?"
"Really? You're calling us stupid? You took off with two originals willingly. Why the hell would you do that?" Damon asked.
"You mean why would I leave with my brother and sister after you stuck a stake in my shoulder?" Elena asked.
"Don't call them that!" Damon snarled with disgust in his voice. He didn't care if that was technically the truth. They weren't Elena's family.
"Why not? It's a fact, Damon. Rebekah and Klaus are my siblings. That's a fact that neither of us can ignore," Elena said.
"No! Klaus isn't your sibling. At best, he's your stepbrother, and only in name," Damon said.
"You don't decide that. And the rest of them are my blood. Give them back," Elena ordered.
Damon smirked. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Elena shook her head in disbelief. "Do you really have that big of a death wish, Damon? You barely escaped death last night, and now you're deliberately poking an already pissed off bear. And for the record, I'm not talking about Klaus. He'll be the least of your problems when Mikael finds out. End it now before that happens."
Damon glared at her. "What happened yesterday happened because of you! If you hadn't have gotten involved, Klaus would be dead and the whole thing would be over!"
Elena laughed mockingly at him. "Oh, please. I know you're an egomaniac, Damon, but do you honestly think you would've won that fight? If anyone was going to die last night, it would've been you. Sure, there was a slight chance that you may have gotten lucky and killed Klaus, but even if the unlikely happened, you would've been killed too. There is no way in hell you would've survived Mikael if you killed his son."
Damon scoffed. "You didn't get involved to save me. You did it to save Klaus. You said as much."
"I did it to save both of you, but you're right, I did want to save Klaus. He's my brother, whether I like it or not," Elena said.
"He killed you and Jenna!" Damon yelled.
"Stefan murdered your girlfriend, and you once murdered his best friend. Are you going to let anyone kill him?" Elena asked. Sure, she knew it wasn't the perfect analogy, but the point was the same. As much as she hated Klaus for what he did to her and her family, she couldn't hurt him or let someone else do it. Whether she liked it or not, he was her family now too. She didn't know exactly what that meant yet, but she knew she couldn't let her friends hurt him.
"That's not the same thing! How could you save him after everything he's done!" Damon asked.
"I don't need to explain myself to you. He's my brother. That's all the explanation you're entitled to, and even that's arguable. Speaking of my brothers, give them back before it's too late," Elena told her. She focused on Damon as she spoke because he was the only one of the two capable of seeing reason right now, and wasn't that a sad fact? Stefan didn't care about anything.
"You really think you can order us around? You're the enemy now, Elena. We're not going to tell you anything," Stefan said with a sneer.
Elena turned and glared at him. "What exactly are you hoping to gain here, Stefan? What do you think is going to happen now that you've taken my brothers? What do you want?"
"I want Klaus to pay for what he's taken from me," Stefan said.
"So, what's your plan? Hang onto a bunch of coffins indefinitely? What do you think this is going to get you other than three pissed off originals and a merciless death once it's all over?" Elena asked.
"We don't owe you an explanation. You've already chosen your side. Like I said, you're the enemy now," Stefan said coldly.
Elena would be lying if she said that Stefan's words didn't cut, but to her credit, she didn't let him see it. It hurt that the man she'd loved so much could speak so coldly to her. She knew it was because he didn't have his humanity on, but it didn't help much. "You're signing your own death warrant, Stefan."
Stefan scoffed in response. "Klaus and Mikael can't do anything to us, not if they want their family back."
Elena shook her head in disbelief. "You're forgetting something. They are my family too."
"I don't care," Stefan said coldly before taking a hold of her arm. "In fact, maybe I'll add to Klaus' suffering by taking you too."
Elena removed his hand from her person easily enough before shoving her away from him. He landed several feet away into a glass table. She was a bit surprised by her own strength. She knew she was stronger than before, but she still hadn't been able to fight Damon off last night. Although, last night she was drunk, and today she had all her facilities intact and was fueled by anger.
Stefan picked himself up and looked at her in shock. He hadn't expected her to be able to overpower him. She couldn't overpower Damon when he accidently stabbed her.
"It seems the power dynamic in our relationship has changed, Stefan. That's something you should probably remember before you come at me again, either of you," Elena warned. She was surprised by the strength, but that didn't mean she wouldn't use it to her advantage.
"You're seriously threatening us for those people?" Damon asked in disgust. He couldn't believe how much had changed in the span of a day. She'd turned on them completely. "You know what? Screw this. It's us or them, Elena. Stefan's right. If you chose them, you're the enemy."
Elena shook her head in disbelief. "That's really how you want it? Fine. So be it. Just remember something, Damon. This 'enemy' saved your life last night after you did something monumentally stupid, and it wasn't the first time. Remember that the next time you square off with a member of my family, you won't have that protection."
"That's your choice? You choose them?" Damon asked in utter shock. He'd thought that if he gave her an ultimatum, she'd see sense and choose her friends.
"No, that was your choice. Now, since we're all enemies now, let me make something clear to you both. If you do not return what you took from my family, you will both suffer the consequences. You can't hold onto them forever. We will find them," Elena said before walking away.

Elena didn't go back to the late house immediately. She decided to go home. She needed to talk to Jeremy. Too many people knew the truth about her. She needed to tell her brother before someone else did. Then she needed to figure out a way to get in touch with Mikael. She knew Klaus would be pissed, but too bad. He deserved to know what was going on with his kids.
When Elena got home, she found Bonnie's car in the driveway, which didn't thrill her. She really didn't want to deal with Bonnie right now. She had enough going on. However, it seemed she didn't have a choice.
Elena got in the car and went inside. She found Alaric, Jeremy, and Bonnie sitting in the kitchen. "Hi, guys."
"Elena! Thank God," Bonnie said before going to greet her. "Are you okay? I was worried about you."
Elena ignored her friend. Her eyes were on Jeremy, who looked distraught. "Jer?"
Jeremy stood up and stared at his sister. "Is it true? Klaus is your brother?"
Elena turned to Bonnie and gave her a scathing glare. She was livid. She'd been worried that someone would tell Jeremy before she could, but she didn't think it would be Bonnie. She thought it would be either Damon or Stefan. "You had no right!"
"Elena, they deserved to know the truth," Bonnie said defensively.
"It was not your truth to tell! You had no right sharing my personal business with anyone, let alone my little brother!" Elena yelled.
"Elena, all I did was…"
"Get out!" Elena ordered. She did not want to hear another word from her supposed best friend. This was not how friends treated each other.
"Elena!" Bonnie exclaimed in disbelief. She'd never seen her friend so angry before, and never towards her. All she did was tell Jeremy and Alaric the truth. They deserved that much, and she had no idea when Elena would be back.
"Get the hell out, Bonnie, now! Before I say or do something I'll regret," Elena warned angrily.
Bonnie could only stare in shock for a minute before wordlessly heading for the door.
Elena took a deep breath and tried to calm down as she prepared to tell her family the truth.
