One of my favorite "radio" songs right now is "Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's. My favorite song overall is a tie between several video game OSTs and lyric covers. School is starting, which might screw up my upload schedule. Not that I had one anyway…

"Delilah Willows?" A brown bear cub in a nurse outfit looked at her clipboard. This patient, injured in a car crash on the mainland, had been transferred to Oakwood Hospital with a broken leg and several mild and severe lacerations. Recovery had taken some time, but she was considered healed enough to leave the patient ward.

"Yes?" A young human girl with brown hair styled with braided double pigtails responded. She was sitting cross-legged at the magazine rack, reading a magazine about music.

"Delilah, good news! Your injuries have healed enough that we can let you go. Of course, you'd still have to come in for biweekly checkups. There's also prescription painkillers for you at the pharmacy."

"Oh, yay! I'll get my backpack ready, and then I'll be off. (Good thing Starlight Arpeggio has free healthcare.)" Delilah picked up her crutches and hobbled over to her hospital bed. She picked up her blue backpack with shooting star motifs from where it lay on the floor, and put away the book lying on the bed. Then, with the nurse's help, she hobbled out the door, down the stairs, into the pharmacy, out of the pharmacy, and out of the hospital where she had been confined for a month. The sudden burst of wind and sun made her cry a bit, but in a happy way.

Wait. Where was she going to sleep tonight? She sure as heck didn't have the Poki to buy a home of any kind. But first, she'd have to find a good place to eat. Hospital food sucked.

Shayla was waiting at the Paradise Planning counter, eating a souvenir chocolate. She was going to apply for a vacation home that would probably remain as her real home. Paradise Planning was famous for its custom home designs. They had also re-opened various facilities across the main island, including her school.

"Shayla?" A pink otter read the schoolgirl's name from a clipboard. Shayla came up to the desk. "Okay… you have an order for a dream home? Let's go outside to discuss." A human girl near the pink otter extended her arm and swept it from left to right slowly, leaving a trail of sparkles. The otter mimicked the gesture. Shayla walked outside and sat down on a bench.

"So… do you have a concept for us?" said the otter, sitting down across from her.

"Umm… I want a comfortable living space for myself. Kitchen, bed, table, maybe a TV…"

"I really like this concept! What do you call it?"

"What? Like, you want me to name this hypothetical house? Umm… I'll call it… a house."

"No, you have to call it something like 'My Cozy Reading Room' or 'The Robo Depot.'"

"Okay then… Functional Living Space. Is that okay?"

"Good! Now, next step. Do you want one floor or two?"

"Do you charge extra for two floors?"

The otter seemingly interpreted this as 'I don't know' because her next move was to elbow the human sitting next to her. They whispered to the otter.

"Oh, so you want two stories? Great! Now, last step. Let's pick a location." She unfurled a map of the Starlight Arpeggio. "Starlabun? Where should we build this home?"

"Can I build it on this island? I don't really want my daily commute to school to involve boats."

The girl, Starlabun, wordlessly pointed to one of the squares on the grid. It was separated from the mainland, but it was close enough to only warrent a maximum of 15 minutes on a boat.

"Well, then, it's settled! Now then, let's go to the site and get designing!" The otter and the human did the sparkle thing again. The moon began to rise.

"Uh, so… when will you be done? Are you going to call me when you're finished? Do you want my phone number? Anyways, it's getting late. I better head home."

"No, no. You get to come and watch us work!"

"Really? Because I have school tomorrow and I can't skip just to spend a week standing around watching a house get built."

"Oh, don't worry. The house will be done in an hour, tops. So, let's call Niko to take us all to the site."

"I said, I have to go home and sleep so that I'm not sleepwalking through class tomorrow."

"*sigh* Okay, go home. We'll let you know when it's done."

As a boat reached the docks next to a plane, Starlabun walked up to Shayla.

"…hey. I haven't seen another human in years, so… canihaveyournumber…?"

"…ookay." Shayla whipped out her NookPhone.
