CHAPTER 4.

One of the hardest things to do in life

is letting go of what you thought it was real.

Unknown.

"Little brother," a voice came from what appeared to be a tree in the distance. Sasuke had been so engrossed by Sakura that he didn't notice the presence of his brother Phantaso. He cursed under his breath and made his fantasy disappear so that Sakura would wake up again.

"Obito…" Sasuke greeted his older brother, the lord of fantasies. Of course, his brother was going to interfere in that dream caused by him. "What are you doing here?" he asked frustrated for having interrupted him.

"Itachi told me about the anomaly in the mortal world, and I wanted to see it with my own eyes. It looks like you're having fun," he replied with a teasing smile.

"What I do with my dreams is none of your business," he spat, he was very frustrated as he would have liked to see how far he could have gone.

"Oh, little brother, I think it's my business. Any fantasy is my business…" he smiled again and the tree he had been talking to transformed into a man with dark short hair. He looked very similar to his other two brothers but not as much as the other two looked like each other. But he had the same dark eyes, as well as the same beautiful features of the other two Somnia.

"Tch," Sasuke huffed angrily. He seemed like he didn't have any privacy lately. Normally his brothers did not interfere in his dreams, nor in the actions or decisions he made, but now they do, why?

"What do you want Obito?" he asked him grumpily, he didn't feel like talking, he just wanted to be alone.

"Nothing, just visiting my brother, or is it that I can't see my little brother? It's been a while since we've seen each other..." he replied.

"Yes, and lately I'm seeing too much of my two brothers, something that doesn't happen normally," he responded accusingly.

"What do you mean?" he asked. Sasuke, even though he was his younger brother, was not stupid. He could tell that his brothers or at least one of them were up to something. Normally the three kingdoms of the Dream world did not interfere unless help was explicitly requested. It was true that he had spoken to Itachi and asked him to ask Obito about the anomaly, but it was not normal for them to interfere with his dreams, nightmares, and fantasies.

"I'm just saying that I'm seeing my brothers very often…" he said, trying to calm himself down, maybe it was just his paranoia and his brothers were just worried and trying to help him.

"Wow, brother, always as antisocial as always," Obito responded with a sarcastic smile. "Well, if I bother you so much, I can leave without telling you what I know about the anomaly." He turned around as if he were going somewhere. But it was absurd because he could perfectly just disappear from there, there was no need for him to go through all the theater of walking away. Sasuke rolled his eyes knowing that his brother was doing it on purpose.

"Wait…." He said quickly, and Obito stopped in his tracks and smiled satisfactorily knowing that his brother wasn't going to let him go so easily. "What do you know about the mortal?" He asked wanting to know who Sakura was and why he felt such an intense attraction.

"Oh, now you want me to stay?" He replied with a mocking smile as he turned and approached Sasuke. He was the oldest brother of the three, and his appearance seemed so different and at the same time so similar to that of the two brothers.

"Come on, spit it out already," Sasuke replied dryly, wanting to maintain his composure and not show his older brother the interest he had in the girl.

"From what I have learned she is no mere mortal," he replied.

"Well, I think we all assumed that already-" Sasuke responded sarcastically, rolling his eyes at such obviousness.

"I know, I know…" Obito interrupted and continued "It's a creation from the realm of Dreams. So, it belongs to our world, maybe that's why it attracts the creatures here so much." He was thinking out loud.

"How is it possible that none of the Somnia had known about Sakura's creation?" Sasuke asked this time suspicious of his brother's words.

"Oh Sasuke, innocent fool," he smiled mockingly at the innocence of his younger brother. "Not everything that comes from the world of Dreams has to be our creation, you should know that. Or, at least, I thought you knew," he replied.

"So, you're telling me, Sakura is part of the dream world of unknown origin?" he asked incredulously.

"Exactly," he said with a satisfying smile. Sasuke doubted his brother's words. He knew that the world of Dreams was very wide, and other gods from other worlds and realms had interfered in the Dreams before, but he never expected that a being from the realm of Dreams would be in the world of mortals and, even less, that the Somnia were unaware of its existence.

"Do you have any theory where she could have come from?" Sasuke asked. He increasingly had more interest in Sakura, and he needed to know the origin of her existence, not only because he was the one who ruled the world of Dreams but also out of interest and personal satisfaction.

"No, I'm sorry," Obito replied. "Well, I've already given you more information than you had. Now it's your job to get rid of her, because brother, we can't tolerate a Dream walking freely in the mortal world," his brother advised him. "I'll leave it in your hands, little brother," and he disappeared without further ado, leaving Sasuke standing there watching. the idyllic forest he had created for his fantasy with Sakura.

Those last words from Obito were what made the idea that had been floating around in his head come true. Well, although for Sasuke at first, he thought it was a drastic idea, perhaps now it was the solution to all the problems.

The next day she couldn't get the last dream she had out of her head. She couldn't stop thinking about that stranger, she wondered over and over again where she had seen him and then dreamed about him, because it was impossible for him to be so real and be a product of her imagination. Furthermore, it kept her worried because of the conversation they had. He told her that it was his dream and that she was there because he wanted to. How had she dreamed something so specific? Would she be going crazy?

"Sakura, are you listening?" Dr. Tsunade was speaking to her, the doctor she had been working with on the research they would soon publish.

"What?" Sakura had remained absorbed in her thoughts and hadn't even noticed.

"I was asking if you already have the results tables made," she asked again.

"Oh no. Right now, I was finishing retouching the tables, I still have to pass the data," she replied, leaving her thoughts. She had to concentrate she couldn't keep thinking about a man she didn't even know was real.

Hours later at lunchtime with her coworkers, Sakura was just as absorbed with her thoughts. Thinking about that stranger who apparently in her dreams and fantasies was called Sasuke. She listened to her friends talk about her affairs. Ino commented that she had been seeing the waiter for more days. She looked at her, but she didn't listen to what she was saying, she simply nodded. And so, she spent the entire day, and the following days, thinking about the unknown man.

Four days had passed since the last time she had that dream, she didn't remember the other dreams, or she probably hadn't dreamed and she felt more rested and relaxed. It was strange as if before she didn't rest and now, she was beginning to be able to fall asleep well and rest. Sakura didn't think much about it.

She was in her apartment, while she was carrying out part of the research at home. She rarely did it, because she liked to separate work from her personal life, but time was running out and they had to meet deadlines, and they had to deliver the article in two weeks. Concentrated on the computer and writing about the results they had obtained, she noticed the cats were uneasy about her, as if there was a presence that they could see and she couldn't. Naruto curled his tail like its entire back, and Sai hissed into nothing. Sakura worried, what was happening? When she suddenly began to notice a small breeze that made all the documents, she had on her desk fall to the floor. She got up to pick them up and when she got up and put the documents on the desk, there he was.

Sakura was terrified, what was happening? Now she was starting to daydream or, what was going on? She definitely thought she was going crazy. Sakura's stunned face was more than evident, and the stoic face of the stranger she had been dreaming about did not change, neither in her dreams nor standing there in the middle of her apartment. She expected him to talk first, to do something, but he just started approaching her, looking her up and down.

"Y-you are, the man of my dreams," was the only thing Sakura could articulate. At her words she noticed a complacent smile on the part of the stranger.

"Well, something like that I am, yeah," he laughed at Sakura's phrase that carried a double connotation, but she was so amazed by what was happening that she didn't realize that.

"Are you real?" she asked wanting to know if she was going crazy or what was going on. But she noticed that her cats were calmer this time, now they were both sitting at Sakura's feet. They did not intend to approach him to smell him or anything, as if they knew him or his simple presence was not strange to them.

"For some I am an idea, a myth or simple fiction. But I exist." he answered so ambiguously that Sakura's doubts didn't leave her mind.

"Wh-who are you?" she asked again hoping now to have a clear and satisfactory answer.

"Some call me Morpheus, for others I am Sandman, and other cultures Tot or Tutu. But, like I already told you, you can just call me, Sasuke." he replied with a warm smile. Apparently, he wanted to make her feel comfortable. He kept approaching her at a slow pace, as if he didn't want to scare her.

"What? Are you the god Morpheus of Greek mythology?" she asked this time in a sarcastic and incredulous voice.

"I was born from the Night and a Dream I became, along with my other brothers. For some I am a God, for others simply a mythological being." he responded as if it were normal to talk about divine, superior and mythological beings.

"Now I must be dreaming, this can't be true," Sakura was starting to worry, starting to doubt her sanity, and she was getting more and more nervous.

"No, you're not dreaming now," he gave a reassuring smile, Sakura almost melting right there before him. She couldn't believe that someone like him could exist, and she had him in front of her and in her apartment. When I tell Ino she won't believe it, she thought.

"But the other times I was?" she asked.

"Yes, the other times you were dreaming. The last one, my dream," he emphasized the last words, fixing his dark gaze on Sakura's beautiful green eyes. He watched as Sakura became nervous, and she gulped. Indeed, Sakura remembered well the last dream and how it could have ended. Suddenly she became embarrassed.

"What are you doing here?" she was curious, although still doubtful that all that was really happening and she had actually fallen asleep on the computer.

"I've come to take you with me," he said as he offered him her hand. Sakura looked at his big hand, with long fingers, she wanted to touch it and Sakura automatically took his hand. But how? What was she doing? Where was she going? Sakura wasn't thinking straight about what she was doing. But it was as if her body was in control of her actions instead of her mind. At the contact of Sasuke's hand, he pushed her towards his chest, he put his other hand behind her back. Sakura noticed Sasuke's hard and imposing body. He looked at her with such intensity that she almost cried. How could someone so handsome exist? Unaware of all, focused on Sasuke's perfect features, she appeared in a large room with barely any light entering it. She was no longer in her apartment.

"Where are we?" she asked looking around. She was still in Sasuke's arms; she felt his warm touch and his strong body under his clothes. She could be like that forever, but she pulled away uncomfortably.

"In my kingdom, in the world of Dreams," he answered as he watched her move away from him, already missing Sakura's contact.

"What? How? This is real?" Sakura couldn't stop wondering if what she was seeing and experiencing was really happening. She was beginning to feel afraid, even though the man in front of her was so perfect and beautiful, but that was all very strange.

"Yes, Sakura, this is all real," he answered very patiently. Sasuke understood how confused Sakura might feel after spending her entire life living in the mortal world and now finding that a whole separate universe existed. A universe that for her was fictional, until now.

"Why are you showing me all this? What do you want from me?" she asked afraid of what the answer might be.

"Because this is where you belong, in the world of dreams," he replied in a calm voice. Sakura's face changed, suddenly her confusion turned to fear and terror.

"No, I don't belong here, my world is the real world, this is…" she remained silent, "this must be my imagination, or I must be sleeping. Lately I've been having very realistic dreams, and you always appear, so yes, that must be it. It's a dream," she was speaking nervously, she couldn't keep quiet. She was starting to feel a pain in her chest, and was starting to think that she was going crazy. Everything was being so unreal. She was out of breath. Sasuke noticed her discomfort, so he approached her, he wanted to take her in his arms, but he repressed that impulse and simply took her arm to give her comfort. But he wasn't helping, Sakura was still hyperventilating, her body was shaking and Sasuke felt helpless. He was the god of Dreams, the one who ruled that kingdom. He had the power to create and undo dreams. To create illusions, fantasy and nightmares. And yet, he couldn't calm her down.

"Alright. I understand that everything is new for you, you have lived your whole life in the wrong world. But now you are where you belong. Next to me," his voice was calm and soft, wanting to convey tranquility and confidence. But in reality, he conveyed the opposite.

"What? Have you kidnapped me? Are you crazy? Who the hell are you?" Sakura moved away from his touch. She was beginning to think that man had kidnapped her and given her some kind of drug that made her hallucinate. At Sakura's words, Sasuke began to think that indeed, from another perspective it could seem that he had kidnapped her. But he was starting to get irritated by Sakura's attitude.

"Nothing I have told you is a lie. I don't care what you think, but this is your home now, the mortal world is not your world. Here you belong and here you will stay," he replied with an irritating tone, Sasuke's voice and expression had changed.

"And who are you to decide that?" She responded with anger in her eyes. "Take me home," she yelled at him.

"You can yell at me, get angry, and do whatever you want, Sakura," he emphasized her name as he pronounced it. "But you belong to me, you are part of my world, and everything that is from this world belongs to me and I do what I want with it," he replied with such arrogance that Sakura couldn't help but look at him with hatred. All that attraction she felt for him dissipated and she was clouded by the hatred she was feeling right now.

"I am not an object that someone can possess. I don't belong to anyone, not even my parents, I'm going to belong to you who are a complete stranger. You're sick, let me get out of here," the anger in Sakura's words increased, she was furious and every word Sasuke said made her angrier.

"I'm sorry, but that's impossible. I can't let you go," he replied without any expression on his face. He remained indifferent to Sakura's anger.

"What? Impossible? Nothing is impossible, if you were able to get me here, you might as well get me out of here," Sasuke was beginning to get to know the stubborn part of Sakura.

"There's nothing more to talk about," he knew that continuing to argue with her was going to be useless. He wasn't going to get all of that out of her mind. He had to give her time and let her little by little understand what was happening.

He left the room they were in, leaving Sakura alone. A few seconds later, a woman appeared and approached her. She had reddish hair, and dark eyes. She was wearing glasses that stylized her face. When she approached, she could see small freckles on her nose.

"Sometimes the Lord can be very harsh," she said as soon as she approached. "Be patient, this is all new to him, no one from our world had lived outside of it in the world of mortals. He hates not being in control of things. And he hates being contradicted even more," she let out a small laugh. "Come, come with me, I'll show you where you're going to stay," she said as she turned her back on and made a sign to Sakura in the head to follow her. Sakura noticed that the woman was being kind, that she didn't seem to show any ulterior motives, and yet Sakura doubted her. She followed her anyway. After all, she had nowhere to go.

When they left the room, Sakura didn't know what to expect about what she was going to find, but she found gardens full of trees and flowers, with a stream that crossed the entire garden and several bridges. While she was walking behind the red-haired girl, Sakura observed several creatures that looked like they were out of a dream, which she thought was probably just that, creatures out of a dream. While she walked, she observed how the color of the grass changed color at times, from a lighter green to a darker one, and the fish that were in the river were of all sizes and colors. Sakura began to think that maybe she was in the dream world, or that she had been injected with a psychotropic drug.

When she arrived at a building that looked like a castle, outside the large portico there were two men guarding the castle. The redhead made a sign to them and they made the sign to open the porch. Inside it was like a fairy tale castle, as soon as you entered you saw a wide staircase that divided into two. Both women walked up the stairs and headed to the right. They crossed a wide hallway, and almost at the end they stopped.

"It's here," the woman said. "Come in, don't be afraid," a warm smile appeared on her face. Sakura hesitated, she didn't know whether to trust her or not, but she had no choice. So she entered an equally large room. Apparently small rooms didn't exist in that place, Sakura thought wryly. The bed was wide, and seemed comfortable. It had a large closet, and in the back, there was a large window that led out to a small balcony.

"Should I stay here?" she asked a little scared, Sakura didn't know what she should do. She felt lost.

"You can leave the room. Actually, Lord Morpheus has not given us any orders to keep you, so I understand that you are free to go out and do whatever you want. You belong to our world and have the same freedoms as all of us," she replied.

"Y-you are also… what he calls… a dream?" she asked thinking that what she was asking was absurd.

"Yes, I am a creation of Lord Morpheus. He made me along with my two other companions to serve him," she responded matter-of-factly.

"Can I ask you what your name is?" She was the second person she knew from that place, first it was Sasuke and now that woman.

"Karin, my name is Karin," the redhead replied "As I told you, you can rest or take a walk around the castle. Maybe Lord Morpheus will come looking for you when he is less busy, or not. I don't know to be honest," the woman spoke a little confused, without knowing very well what her master's plans were, since normally the Dreams did not live in Morpheus's castle, but each one had their place, so she did simply what he told her. And she left the room leaving Sakura alone and confused.

A/N: I know, I know... Obito is not Sasuke's brother, but I had to change a lot of canon stuff to fit in the story. Originally the Somnia are three brothers... so I needed another brother. You will see eventually that is not the only thing i changed. But only for the shake of the story.
