It had been a few weeks since my encounter with Victoria. Prom had come and gone and we were basically with the school year. I couldn't help but wonder if I was going to get a chance to swim during the summer, particularly if I was going to get a chance to swim with Bella. I wasn't sure if she had a swimsuit. Also didn't know if she wanted to go to a public pool. Her family was also not allowed in La Push so that option was also out. There had to be some way that I would get a chance to see her in a swimsuit.
It was the last day of school, which really didn't matter much for me. I was pretty sure that I had aced all of my finals. I also couldn't help but wonder what counted as summer clothes in Forks. I knew it would be warmer, but I was still pretty sure that it was going to rain all of the time. Maybe I needed to talk to Jess about it.
"Hey." I replied to her.
"Hi." I reciprocated. "I'm surprised that you want to hang out with me instead of making out with your girlfriend."
"Well I kind of need some fashion advice from you." I replied. "I need to know what I should wear for summer."
"It's a lot of the same stuff that you would wear for summer everywhere else, but you just have to be prepared for the rain." She explained. "Do you wanna come with me shopping and I can show you?"
"Yeah, I would like that." I agreed. "So are you and Mike really over?"
"Yeah, he's really not someone that I could see myself spending my life with anyway." She replied. "So have you and Bella slept together yet?"
"That's kind of personal." I responded with a blush.
"Yeah, but I'm your best friend, so you're supposed to tell me about these things." She countered. I was pretty sure that wasn't how it worked.
"No, we haven't had sex." I stated. I wasn't sure how Bella would be able to handle that. Maybe she could train herself to get used to it. I actually didn't know if she had ever done it before. I would have to ask her some time when we were alone. I just needed to figure out how to do it without sounding like a pervert.
The two of us went to Walmart, and even though it was the last day of school, Jessica still hadn't driven. I couldn't help but wonder if she planned on driving more now that it was summer. As soon as I got there, I got a text from Bella.
"What are you doing?" It read.
"Don't you already know what I'm doing?" I replied.
"Yeah, but I would still like if you told me." She responded. I rolled my eyes, even though she couldn't see it. I then noticed she was typing. "Don't roll your eyes at me."
"I'm at Walmart with Jess. We're getting some summer clothes. You should come next time." I offered.
"Sorry, we don't really hang out with the locals." She replied.
"What does make me make me?" I challenged.
"You're an out-of-towner even though I'm pretty sure your skin is whiter than mine." She remarked.
"I need to get going. I'll talk to you later." I told her.
"Okay I love you." She replied.
A few weeks later, Bella decided to take me somewhere. While she didn't really like to go places, she did know some great scenic places we could go.
We were headed to the mountains, but I wasn't entirely sure why. It seemed like it was a little bit strange if you asked me. Once we got out of the car, I still wasn't sure where we were.
"So what are we doing here?" I asked.
"Well I know that you have been wanting to swim recently and I decided to bring you to place where we could do that." She stated as she led me past the rocks and to a hot spring. "Don't worry, I made sure that Elena got you a swimsuit. I will even close my eyes so you can change."
"You better not open them." I threatened. "And no using your visions either."
"I can't control that." She responded as she kept her eyes closed.
I quickly put on the swimsuit that she gave me. After I was done, she opened her eyes and took off her clothes to reveal a navy bikini. I gawked at her. Bella was so sexy.
"Please don't run though. These rocks are slippery and kind of sharp." She explained. I could tell the last thing that we needed was for me to fall and hurt myself. However, once I was near the edge, I still jumped into the water and found it was kind of warm. At that point, Bella jumped in as well, splashing me. I couldn't believe that I was doing something that I had expected to do. I was having fun with Bella.
Of course, the summer had to eventually come to an end. We did eventually have to go back to school. I could tell that there were things that I was worried about. For one, I knew that James was still out there. He probably thought that since the Cullens were protecting me that it wasn't the best idea to come after me, but I was still pretty sure that I hadn't seen the last of him.
It was a few days before my birthday. I was about to be 18, even though I wasn't sure if that was a good thing. I supposed that I wasn't at the age where I started to get noticeably older yet, but I was a little afraid of that. I knew that I would have to become a vampire in order to be with Bella, but I didn't know when that would happen. I also didn't know just what obstacles by birthday would bring.
So another little prologue before we get to the action. Alice doesn't realize the trouble that her birthday will bring. Will things go the same way? Please don't forget to review.
