"I'm so sorry I was too rough."

Bonnie was a shivering, sweaty mess. He tried to wrap her in a blanket, but she kept unraveling her arms, claiming it was too warm.

"You lost too much blood, Bonnie. I can tell."

"I'm fine, Damon."

"No, you're not; you're…"

Bonnie grabbed his face, her green eyes content," Hon, I'm fine."

The nickname stopped him in his tracks. But the next thing she did almost killed him.

She placed a soft, tender kiss on his lips before promptly folding herself in the blanket cocoon in his lap and falling asleep.
