Klaus POV:
After sending my sister to Richmond airport, I pondered on Elijah's whereabouts at this time. I know he is daggered and in Salvatore's dungeon room. What should I do now? Do I have to go to Salvatore's to get my brother back or else should I have to run the day as at the end of today after decade dance Elena herself will free Elijah.
I looked down on my phone once I heard the notification, the text from Caroline saying that she had done her exchange with her mom. And available if I have any need. Ever the giver, even though her chat is too emotional she wanted to check on me and my state.
I decided to go on the flow, I will body jump now securing Katrina as a peace offering to my brother tomorrow.
I called Caroline, "Hello Love, how are you now?"
"I'm fine Klaus. How are you doing? Still in your body it seems."
"Yes, sweetheart. I thought of speaking to you before I body jumped. I have awakened Finn, Kol and Bekah. None of them are in town right now. I have asked nicely for them to be subtle and calm till I lift my curse which is the day after tomorrow."
"What do you mean not in town? How could they be alone in an unfamiliar century? And Finn, how could he be alone at all? "
"Relax love, Finn is not alone. I have called Sage and she is with him now. Bekah, she is in Chicago with our old friend Gloria. Kol is a fast learner and he kind of likes to discover things on his own. I have sent him to locate Professor Shane to prevent Silas ordeal before it starts."
"Good, Sorry I was shocked that you sent them all out after a deep slumber to an unknown world."
"No worry sweetheart. I am going to the hotel room for body jumping now. Still Elijah is daggered and in Salvatore's dungeon. Anyway, after this decade dance Elena herself will release him so I haven't tried to contact him today"
"Okay, I'm very nervous about this. Please be easy on Bonnie. I know she purposefully stops her heart, but still thinking of it feels like icky"
"Do not worry yourselves sweetheart. We have lived this; nothing will happen to any of them today." I assured her to calm her nerves.
"Yes, you're right. Nothing will happen to any of them tonight." She said more to herself than to me.
"How was your chat with your mother? Sweetheart. How are you feeling after that?" I asked changing the subject hoping this would not upset her.
"Things are okay between us now Klaus. I have asked her to go on a full body check-up on Saturday. Maybe if we deduct that cancer prior, she will be with me longer" she said with little hope.
"She will get better this time sweetheart. I will bring the best of best doctors to treat her, she will get to be with you longer, she will play with her grandchildren too. I give you my word"
"Thank you so much Klaus. It really means a lot to me. I cannot be able to repay you for any of the things you are doing for me or have done for me" she said with tears. I could hear her voice slightly trembling.
"You do not need to repay me or say thanks to me for anything Caroline. You just being there in my life is more than enough for me. I'm lucky to have a goddess like you on my side. I'm the one who is not worthy of you." I say sincerely.
"Nonsense, if anyone is not worthy it is me, Klaus. You are a thousand years old, big bad hybrid and Original. You love your family above all else and protect them from anything and everything. I am just a baby vampire and a control freak, neurotic at that."
"No sweetheart. You are much more than that. You are strong, full of light and loyal to the fault. Never ever say that one more time Caroline" I say seriously & firmly to convey my message through tone.
She stayed silent for a moment and then stated "I have already asked Matt through a message to accompany me to this decade dance. He hasn't yet responded. You in my history teachers' body and all, I do not have much of a choice"
I chuckled at that "Yes, sweetheart. We do not have a choice other than the quarterback."
She laughed "Okay, keep in mind that I was not kept in loop at this point of time. So, if you find anything suspicious, text me and we can proceed from there."
"Sure sweetheart. I'll keep you in loop. Good night."
She said "Good night, Klaus. Take care of yourselves." I smiled and ended the call.
Pondered a few more minutes on the coming events of the day and then reached the hotel where Greta and Maddox were waiting for me with Alaric's body. I entered the room and ordered them to do the body jump immediately. Once I'm into Alaric's body "Maddox, I want you to get Katarina for me and have her locked up in this History teacher's apartment. Greta and I will wait for you and Katrina to join us in there."
After Maddox took off to capture Katrina. I asked Greta to spell shut the apartment for my body and Katrina once she is back. Maddox brought Katrina with moonstone and her with a snapped neck, so before she woke up Greta and Maddox performed the spell like the one trapped vampire inside that church's tomb.
I sent Greta and Maddox to work on the ritual spells. I texted Caroline, that I have completed body jump and got moonstone with Katrina. Meanwhile, Isobel is dead as per my command in front of Elena to warn her. I got ready for today's school in Alaric's body.
Katrina slightly stirred from the floor and studied the room around her and caught the sight of me. "Why am I here Alaric?" she asked, trying to get up and stand. I smirked and said "Zdravei, Katerina" (Hello, Katerina) approaching her.
She was shell shocked and tried to escape the room but couldn't cross the door due to the spell. I compelled her to sit calm and answer my questions truthfully. While I started school, I took two shirts and asked her for a suggestion "Bad or badder?" She responded, "The dark colors suit you better".
"Oh, thank you, honey." I put on the black color shirt and discarded the checked one.
"Okay, pop Quiz. The dagger and white ash are in Salvatore's possession, correct?" I asked.
"The dagger was used to kill Elijah. You'll find him in the basement of the Salvatore's house" said Katerina, which I know already. I asked the same questions to check her even though I know better of what is happening from all ends.
"Okay, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is. The last thing I need to do is rescue Elijah. Oh, that guy is a buzzkill" I said to get her reaction, but she continued as if I haven't talked about Elijah. I will never ever admit to anyone that I liked Katrina better to Elijah than Hayley.
"You're on the outs with Jenna." She said, I countered her "Right, Elena's aunt. For, uh, all the lies about Isobel." And asked, "What else?"
She answered, "That's it." I walked to her and caressed her head, she continued "Please just kill me. I've told you everything that I know." For that I responded "Where is the fun in that? And I believe you that you told everything you know. But what about the things that you would not know? What could they be keeping from you?" I compelled her to tell me.
"They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Original without a dagger." I hummed for her answer. "Bonnie the best friend? You said she doesn't have the power anymore." I asked her.
"She doesn't or didn't…. I don't know." Katerina stammered. "You kidnapped me, remember. I am out of the loop"
"Well, we'll have to get to the bottom of that."
"Please, just kill me, Klaus and be done with it." She said with a defeated tone and expecting death at any moment. I answered her "And show you kindness?" I smiled maliciously and took the pocket knife handed to her and compelled her "…..now stab yourself." She stabbed herself in her thighs and groaned.
"Now, while I'm gone. I want you to do that over and over again. If you get bored, switch legs." I said. "And where are you going?" Katerina asked. "I'm gonna go lay eyes on my precious doppelganger" I responded and kissed her forehead "Oh, don't look so glum, Katerina." I mocked her "The fun is just beginning"
No one's POV:
Meanwhile in Salvatore's boarding house. The brothers made Elena sign the house papers to her name to make it safe for her from certain Vampires and Bonnie was with her.
Brothers are outside waiting for the formalities to be over and get invited in. Damon asked Stefan "You really think Bonnie can take on Klaus?"
Stefan answered "She said she'd channel enough witches power to kill him. Elijah though that would work and he was an Original, so…yeah"
"We just need to find him. Could she do one of those witch tracking spells?" Damon asks.
Stefan responds, "Nope. Not without something that belongs to Klaus. Believe me, I already asked."
After some time, Damon thinks of Katherine and asks Stefan "Do you think he killed her?"
"Katherine?" Stefan asks facing Damon and answers "Probably".
"It's not like she didn't have it coming."
Once the paper works are over, Elena invites Stefan into the house and ponders to think of Damon to annoy him. Then Elena asks Damon "If I let you in, do you promise to obey the owner of this house?" he answers right away "No", but Elena doesn't give in "Seriously, Damon. I call the shots. No lies, no secret agendas. Remember?" "Yes, Elena. Sure." Then Elena invites Damon in.
Once the brothers are into the house, Bonnie and Elena start school. But Stefan stops them "Wait, where are you going?" Elena answers "School" by taking her backpack from Bonnie.
Damon stops them stating, "No, no. We didn't create a safe house for you to leave it." And Stefan agrees with his brother and adds "Yeah, guys, Klaus is out there. We know that."
Elena questions "Right. But where?" tries to reason with the brothers," No one knows. Look, I really appreciate what you guys are doing. I'll be able to sleep at night knowing that I'll be safe here. But I'm not gonna be a prisoner"
Stefan looks back at his brother with raised brows at her statement to get to know about his comments on this. He states, "Your way, Elena" and winks at her.
Bonnie assures the brothers saying, "Don't worry. I'm ready. If he shows his face, I can take him. Know how." sternly even though she herself has worries about the complications of using too much magic to her body.
Elena happily says that "The way I see it, next to Bonnie is the safest place that I can be" then moves towards the door. Brothers nod their heads at that. Bonnie follows Elena out, then Stefan was out there with them too.
Matt was knocking on Caroline's door Liz opens it for him and states that "Caroline left early for school". He says "I know. I came to see you." he spins his backpack on to the chair and freaks out that "I don't know what to do. What to say, how to act around her."
Liz says "You can't let her know that you know" going along with the initial plan even though she had talked to her daughter. Caroline requested to maintain this façade till she talked to Matt about all these. Matt exclaims "She wants me to take her to the dance" Liz answers right away "Take her to the dance".
"I'll never get away with it. She knows me too well. She'll figure it out" Matt said worried. Liz condemns him "Oh, damn it, Matt, just do it. She is my daughter. She is my baby. I just…." stammered a bit "I need some time"
Matt tries to explain, "I know, but…." Liz cuts him off "Look if what Caroline told you is true, she's not the only one. The Salvatore's are Vampires. The Gilbert family is on it. Tyler Lockwood is God knows what." Matt interrupts Liz shrugging, "A Werewolf''. Liz continues as if not interrupted "There is no one in this town I can trust. I just need to take a beat and figure out what to do''.
Matt says defeated "That'll never fool her" Liz pleads "Yes, you will. As far as she knows, you don't remember anything. Buy me some time. Please, Matt." Matt agreed and went to school.
Once the bell rang in school Elena, Stefan and Bonnie are in Alaric's History class. With the flyers for 60's decade dance Elena shows it to Stefan, and he shakes his head to no. Then Elena asks Bonnie showing the flier, she smiles and nods.
Then Klaus in Alaric's body enters the classroom "Hello Class. What are we learning today?". One student from first row answers "With the decade dance, we have been covering 60's all week"
Klaus states "Right. The 60's" and looks around for his doppelganger "The 60's, uh…" stammers a bit while writing it on the board and continues "I wish I could say something good I could say about the 60's, but ... .they kind of sucked. Except for the Beatles. They made it bearable. Uh.., what else was there?" walked around the table near the board while observing the bennet witch and dear old friend Ripper. "…The Cuban missile thing, uh, we walked on the moon. There was Watergate." Elena interrupted with the smile "Watergate was the 70's Ric." Once I looked at her she corrected herself "I mean Mr. Saltzman" I smiled and gestured both the hands together "Right. It kind of mushes together up here, the 60's 70's. Thank you Elena."
Outside some of the students were preparing the school for tonight's decade dance. Caroline comes to Dana with a bunch of papers on a plan and arrangement for decade dance and handed some of those to Dana "Can you take care of these?" Dana took it from her "Sure". Caroline thanked Dana.
She saw Matt and approached him with a full on smile. Matt was also smiling at her, he kissed her right away to avoid any questions and Caroline knows it too. But she played along for time being and asked "What was that for?" Matt answers "Just practicing for tonight."
Caroline smiles and patted lightly on Matt's chest. He continued, "So I found a suit if you still want me to be JFK tonight." She responds "Perfect" and chuckles.
Meanwhile Jermey asks Bonnie "Did you tell Elena what it's gonna take to do that Klaus spell?" Bonnie says "No and you're not either." Jermey tries to get Bonnie to see the reason "Look, she's gotta know you can't do it." But Bonnie denigrates him "We don't know I can't. Have faith." Jermey was angry that she was not listening, "That's not fair. You can't harness the power of a hundred dead witches. It'll kill you."
Bonnie shushes him and counters "Shh. We don't know that for certain. You promised to keep my secret. I'm trusting you. I'm going through with this and if you tell anyone, I swear…" Jermey cuts her "What? What are you gonna do?" sternly frustrated that she is not seeing the obvious.
Elena exactly approaches them at the same time and asks Jermey about John and Jenna. Then he leaves the table without saying bye to Bonnie. Elena notices this and asks Bonnie about it. She lies that it is about dressing for tonight's dance. Elena chuckles and believes her.
Dana approaches them "Hey Elena, there you are. Okay, this is gonna sound freaky….but this totally hot guy asked me to ask you if you're going to the dance tonight." Elena looks at Bonnie and chuckles, then Bonnie answers for Elena "Tell him she has a boyfriend." But Dana doesn't leave since she is compelled, "You could at least meet him. He'll be at the dance tonight. Look for him. His name is Klaus."
Smile drops from Elena's face and she asks "I'm sorry, what did you just say?" Dana looks at Elena then Bonnie and slowly repeats "His name's Klaus. I know the name's stupid, but I swear he's hot."
Elena doesn't know what to say or do, Bonnie again jumps in and asks Dana "Where is he? Is he here?". Dana says "I don't know". They both immediately know what that means. She's been compelled. Dana continues, "But he wants to know if you'll save him the last dance. How cute is that?"
Bonnie, Elena and Stefan get back to the boarding house and tell Damon about Dana. So they could plan on how to take him down. Brothers were arguing about how to find Klaus first to take him down. And concludes that he could be anywhere at any time and he compelled somebody at school. Stefan looks into Elena and states "This is not as safe as you guys thought, huh?"
Boarding house door was knocked at the same time and Alaric entered the house. They called him to update the current status without knowing he is Klaus. Damon tells him to put his name as chaperone for decades and informs him that Klaus made his first move.
Elena asks after finding him what is our plan of attack. Bonnie answers that "Me. I'm the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him, I can kill him."
Klaus smiles at that and states "That's not gonna be that easy. I mean he is the biggest, baddest vampire around" which he originally said in past lifetime. Even though he knows how all of these are going to act out, he has to blend in like he has no idea to fool and come out with victory and have his family safe and happy.
Damon agrees with Alaric and tries to attack Bonnie with vamp speed, but she throws him to the opposite side of the room. Elena was shocked to see the power Bonnie yields and Stefan said with his eyebrows raised "Well, I was impressed". I just stayed there looking at Bonnie, "It doesn't matter if he's an Original. I can take down anyone who comes at me."
I felt pity for her to think that, how naive she can be. Only one weapon could kill the Originals. Bonnie reassures Elena "I can kill him, Elena."
Back at Alaric's apartment, Klaus informs Maddox about the power of Bonnie. He immediately said I have to just provoke her to use more of her power which in turn will wear out her and kills in the process. Maddox put protection on Alaric's body to avoid any damage while provoking Bonnie.
Caroline got dressed as Jaqueline for the decade, while putting on the hand gloves her mother Liz entered the house. She addresses Liz "There you are. You almost missed me. How do I look?" and twirls with her skirt. "Jackie O?" Caroline smiles "Ha, ha. Duh."
"You look Amazing, Caroline" Liz states smiling. "Thanks mom. Matt will be here at any moment. After tonight's dance I'll talk to him mom." Caroline strides towards Liz, hugs her and whispers "Thanks for believing in me mom. I will definitely will not let you down"
Liz was overwhelmed by this and had some tears threatening to spill. But she pats Caroline and says "I love you, Caroline. I'm always proud of you." The same time Matt knocks the door. Liz took a photo of both of them in the costume and sent them off.
Damon, Stefan, Bonnie, Elena, Jermey reached the school's football court where the dance was happening. Klaus also enters and approaches Dana and Chad, her dance partner. He again compels Dana to make an announcement of song dedication to Elena from Klaus.
The same time Klaus phone dings with a message.
Caroline: I'm on the way to school with Matt. I'm going to break up with Matt tonight, without stating too much or offending him.
I groaned at the thought of the quarterback dancing with her. And with the breakup news I lightened up immediately and texted her back.
Klaus: I'm already in school. Just now made an announcement to Elena. Very well sweetheart, I look forward to it. 😉
Caroline: I know.
Once the announcement is made, all of the Elena gang split up and waited for him to come to them. Bonnie and Jermey go separate ways for dance and Damon goes to Alaric and Stefan and Elena try to dance.
So, after a few minutes, Caroline enters the room with Matt, Elena tells Stefan to inform Caroline of what is happening and to be on alert. Klaus was watching Caroline from the moment she entered with the quarterback. They were dancing and smiling, and Matt said "You look really pretty tonight".
Stefan interrupts them at the exact time and asks Matt "Do you mind, if I steal your date for a moment?" Matt says "No, not at all. I'll go get us something to drink."
Stefan pretends to dance and tells Caroline that Klaus is here, we have no idea who he is and warns her to keep an eye out for anything weird. Caroline plays along seriously searching around and nods her head. Meanwhile Jermey leaves the dance and Elena gets worried. She tells Stefan the same, he follows Jeremy and asks him what is wrong. He says that this much magic could kill Bonnie.
Stefan informs Elena and she drags Bonnie outside to stop her. Stefan argues with his brother that they agreed on no more secrets. The brothers come into the hallway to find Elena and Bonnie and find some guys attacking Jermey.
Once they see the brothers approaching, Chad took the bow and shot Damon with a wooden stake to his shoulder. The other one raises his gun to Stefan, but he speeds to him and discards the weapon. When he sees Damon trying to kill Chad he stops and tells "Stop, this may be a distraction. Go search for Elena. I got this"
Damon drops Chad and runs. The same time, Alaric approaches Elena and Bonnie outside and informs them "Klaus has Jeremy" , both of them shocked and followed Alaric. Klaus was taking them through the empty hall, when they questioned him about Jeremy he revealed that he is Klaus.
Bonnie started the attack on Alaric and instructed Elena to go get help, but she didn't listen to Bonnie and stayed with her. Klaus was provoking as he planned. Both Bonnie and Elena run out locking the door and Damon finds them, asks what happened. They explained Klaus in Alaric's body.
Damon orders Elena to go find Stefan and inform with the current status and be with him. Once she left, Damon devises a plan with Bonnie to kill Klaus. And asks Bonnie "You still will do whatever it takes to kill him?"
They plan to show Klaus that Bonnie died in this attack and use her as a secret weapon. All of this already Klaus knows now. Once in Salvatore house Elena got to know that Bonnie is alive, and it is all a plan made by Damon. She confronts him that she will not allow Bonnie to die to protect me. But Damon being Damon says, "If it comes to you and the witch, I'll always let Bonnie die".
This stirs some fear in Elena; she decides she would have to do something and goes down to the cellar in the basement where Elijah is daggered. She un-dagger him and takes him out of the house. Elijah is furious at her previous actions and asks what happened. She said she'll tell but not here and handed over the dagger to Elijah as a goodwill.
In Alaric's apartment, Klaus sent Maddox to get his body to transfer back to his own. Texted Caroline about jumping back and about the warning he is going to give Jenna and Stefan in Elena's home.
Stefan and Damon got to know that Elijah was un-daggered, Elena is nowhere to be found. Both Elijah and Elena are in a car, Elijah drinking blood from a bag. They both went to Lockwood mansion. Elijah made Carol invite them inside and give suits for him.
Elijah explained what the actual curse is, which is not a curse of moon and sun but put up on Klaus himself to prevent him from becoming a Hybrid. A species of Vampire and Werewolf combined.
When Elena got a call from Jenna about Klaus warning her in their home. Elena said she will be back and gave her word. For which Elijah states "If you do not keep your words, then it means nothing." Once Elena left Elijah got the call from Klaus himself.
