Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo were best friends since diapers, never leaving the other's side. Most thought Katsuki would hate Izuku due to Izuku being the top of the class but also just plain smart. Katsuki absolutely thought Izuku was smart even if he didn't say it out loud, but he always used that to his advantage. Katsuki was the second smartest but came first in the strength department with such a powerful quirk and physical strength.

They were a package deal, you couldn't expect to see Katsuki without Izuku, or vice versa. Both have abilities that enhance the others. When Izuku didn't get a quirk, Katsuki was okay with that, he wanted to protect Izuku anyway. He had no doubt that if it came down to it, Izuku could defend himself with just his brain alone and that a quirk would have been a bonus.

What Katsuki disliked however was the teachers at their school, they were greedy monsters. The teachers disliked Izuku for not having a quirk while praising Katsuki himself because of his quirk. He got out of that school real quick with Izuku but found that the same problem happened everywhere and after 5 transfers he had enough. Izuku wouldn't stand for himself and it made Katsuki so mad as he would watch Izuku wilt before him with his eyes dimming and gaze dropping to the ground. Day by day, Izuku's bright eyes grew dimmer, and his once-curious hands stopped reaching for books. Katsuki clenched his fists every time he saw his friend's hunched shoulders and shaky breaths. Was Katsuki a bit protective? Yes, but he knew that damn nerd would let the world walk all over him, just to make people happy. Every time Izuku flinched under a teacher's scorn, Katsuki's blood boiled. His fists clenched so tight his knuckles turned white, and he swore under his breath—ready to punch through the whole damn system if that's what it took to protect him. He'd tear the whole school system down himself if it meant getting his Izuku back.

They started online school and the teachers there were nice and Izuku excelled more than Katsuki could ever hope. Izuku went back to himself and started to show his smarts and ideas. Soon he was going to be moved up 2 grades but refused because he wanted to stay with Katsuki even with Katsuki's protest. The school sent both Izuku and Katsuki up 2 grades with Izuku's insistence.

With the help of Izuku's tutoring, Katsuki kept up with above-average grades, and as thanks, Katsuki taught Izuku self-defense. Soon both were practicing martial arts without the use of quirks. When they turned 10, Izuku started high school and college classes with the help of the online school, it was too big of an opportunity to say no. Katsuki started to explore his quirk with Izuku's help and analyses. By the time they were 12, Katsuki was in his second year of high school online while Izuku was going for a third master's degree at an online college. Both were proficient in martial arts and Izuku started to use weapons while also learning other components of fighting and stealth.

Katsuki wanted to be a hero and Izuku, his other half, supported him without any complaints and even went so far as to say he would become a hero with him. Izuku lived to help others. And if fighting alongside Katsuki meant saving even one life, he'd dive in without a second thought. When it came time to go to the prestigious UA Hero High School, Izuku had earned more than five PhDs and Katsuki finished the high school curriculum including one Master's in Analytics. Both were proficient fighters and easily could take down more petty criminals on their own. They were 14 and had already accomplished many things with the help of their advantages. Izuku had always been brilliant, finishing college work with ease. He took accelerated courses, completing each in just 4-6 months. While Katsuki wasn't as academically gifted, he was still far above average—smart enough to be considered a genius in his own right, though he often asked Izuku for help.

It all came to a head when Izuku asked a simple question. "Would they accept me even though I am quirkless?" It was barely more than a whisper but Katsuki heard it and turned to face Izuku. He could see Izuku playing with the hem of his shirt, a nervous habitat he didn't seem to break after years of trying. Katsuki had his doubts too, but he wasn't going to UA without Izuku by his side. "If UA rejects you..." Katsuki's jaw tightened. For a moment, doubt flickered in his mind—what if no one ever saw Izuku the way he did? What if the world was just too stupid to change? But Katsuki shoved that thought aside. "Screw them. We'll change it ourselves." Katsuki knew he sounded pompous but knew it would calm Izuku's nerves. Over the years he realized that Izuku would respond best to overwhelming confidence and conviction more than soft assurances, which for Katsuki was amazing since he didn't think he had it in him to be soft all the time. One of the many reasons why they were perfect for each other, Katsuki supposed.

Katsuki watched the tension slowly slip out of Izuku's shoulders as a small smile played on Izuku's lips before he spoke."So… what will you do? This has always been your dream, Kat." A nickname that was better than the previous Kacchan that he used to use. Izuku liked it but conceited that it was a bit childish and changed it to something else, where the nickname "Kat" was born. Katsuki ruffled Izuku's hair, earning a pout. "If you still want the idea of helping people, vigilantes are a great alternative." Katsuki smirked at Izuku's wide eyes and a high-pitched squeak once he finished his sentence. "T-That's illegal, Kat!" Izuku stammered, his eyes wide with shock. Izuku knew it was wrong—vigilantism was dangerous and reckless. But the way Katsuki said it, with such certainty and fire, made something stir inside him. He knew that if Katsuki was committed then he would follow him, just like he would follow him to the ends of the earth. "Oh, I know but we would still be helping others, wouldn't we?" His eyes had a dangerous glint in them that Izuku couldn't deny that he wasn't curious about. "What game are you playing?" Izuku asked in a breathless whisper which soon turned into a chuckle as Katsuki smirked at him.

"We can send a message to the world, show them that quirks are tools and do not decide a person's ability. We'll prove that to them." Katsuki held no hesitation in his voice, only pure determination and conviction which Izuku hadn't seen in a long time. "They'll never see you for who you really are," Katsuki muttered. "Not unless we force them to." He paused, then grinned. "We'll make our own damn rules."Izuku knew, at that moment, he'd already made his decision. Katsuki's words echoed in his mind, stirring something deep inside him. A soft smile tugged at his lips.

"You know I will join you no matter what you choose?" Izuku spoke so sincerely that Katsuki was reminded again why he was going to make sure they were heard. Katsuki knew his life had always been easier. People adored him but treated Izuku like a parasite—unwanted, but impossible to shake off. They would be treated fairly or there would be hell to pay and Katsuki made that promise when they were four and found himself making it again. Katsuki could still remember that day in the sandbox, the way he punched that brat for calling Izuku useless. He'd promised then and there: that no one would make Izuku feel that way again. When he looked at the smaller boy in front of him, he knew that this boy would forever have his loyalties but he also knew that Izuku would give the same

."I know you will," Katsuki whispered, his voice soft—out of character for him. He pulled Izuku into a tight hug, as if holding on would be enough to protect him from the world. At that moment, Katsuki realized something: Izuku wasn't just his friend—he was his reason. His joy. His reminder that, no matter what, he wasn't alone.

Izuku fell asleep in Katsuki's arms that day. Katsuki ruffled Izuku's hair, his fingers lingered just a moment too long in the soft curls, warm and familiar beneath his hand, before he gave them a rough tousle. "Damn nerd," he muttered, though there was no bite behind the words. Izuku was his everything, his rock, his other half. Katsuki fell asleep too, his head on top of Izuku's with this body supported by the wall, and a soft smile played on his lips. Yes, Izuku was his everything, they would always be a packaged deal because Katsuki didn't think he could live his life without this nerd by his side.
