A couple days had passed since Issei was rescued from Helheim by Freya, assisted by the combined efforts of Odin, Thor, Eir, Göndul, and Ölrùn. Freya was all healed now, her natural goddess ability healing her alongside whatever the doctors did for her. Issei, on the other hand, was in bad shape. He was put on several machines from the human world. A ventilator, several IV drips and feeding tubes. A steady intake of some kind of sludge was pouring directly into his stomach. There was also a large amount of magic circles around him as well as a faint golden glow surrounding his body like an aura. Everything that they could do to keep him alive.

Freya and Frigg were in a chair on either side of Issei, barely ever leaving his side and never together when they would need to leave. Odin and Thor visited every so often, as did Ölrùn and Göndul. Odin and Thor however had to keep Asgard running so they left Frigg and Freya their to keep watch over their son/brother. Frigg was reading a book brought to her by her husband, but Freya was just staring at Issei, looking over him. Issei had improved slightly since he's been under the medical care of the Æsir. His body had started to fill out again due to the amount of liquids and food they had pumped into him, as well as some muscle gain. The doctors couldn't figure out how he was gaining these muscles, as he wasn't doing any exercise. Every single muscle was used up as energy in Helheim, so why was he gaining them now? They did not know, but there was a reason for it.

When the black tar that was coating Issei's organs, veins and arteries, they were frozen due to the cold so they sat in hibernation. Then Issei was exposed to the warm temperatures of Asgard and the even warmer temperature inside of the medical facility started to turn them back into an ooze. The ooze would then seep into the fat created by all the food and forcefully turn them into muscle. The ooze would also seep directly into each organ instead of coating them, changing them into something different. His heart, liver, kidneys, every organ including his brain had ooze inside, and the doctors had no idea.

What they also couldn't explain was that his body temperature had dropped suddenly and without warning, two days into the treatment. His skin was warm and toasty like it should be, but the core of his body like his heart and the organs inside were negative -459.67 Fahrenheit or -273.15 Celsius. Absolute zero temperatures. When they recorded that temp, they tested six more times, all registering at that same temperature. They tested every hour, and the temperature never changed by any point. Yet, his body was still working. His heart pumped blood, his kidneys filtered waste, his liver cleaned out the toxins in his body, yet they were so cold. They should be frozen solid yet they pumped cold blood like it was nothing, which became warm blood once they reached near the skin.

Because of these abnormalities, the doctors had told them that they needed to have Issei watched at all times, with no breaks between watches. They came by every so often to do tests on the boy, but they couldn't figure anything out to why things were happening in the way they were.

As for the comatose Issei, he dreamed. The nightmares ended two days in and pleasant dreams filled the young mans mind after, which is what Issei was having now. What his dreams were, one could only guess, but when Freya and Frigg looked over to see a sizable tent in his Issei's baggy pants, both women raised a brow and looked at each other.

"Yea, he's going to be just fine." Frigg snorted, shaking her head in mirth. She looked up to Issei Freya blushing a bit, so the older Goddess decided a little teasing is in order. "Who'd you think he's dreaming about?" Frigg asked into a playful manner. "Certainly couldn't be me as I am his mother… but could it be… the Valkyrie that went and saved him? What was her name again?" She cooed.

Freya huffed and looked away. "Of course he'd dream about me. I am an attractive goddess after all." She said, not wanting to give Frigg any satisfaction of her love life.

"Oh, but couldn't he also dream of Ölrùn? Maybe even Göndul if he's into older looking women." She teased the Goddess.

"I'm… better looking." Freya said, grumbling.

"I expect many Grandchildren Freya dear." Frigg said with a big grin. Freya immediately got up and walked away, leaving Frigg alone with her son. "Aww don't run away now."

"I need to use the bathroom." Freya said with a huff. Frigg merely laughed and returned to reading her book. She would leave Freya alone for the time being, as she got her fun in. Frigg looked over her book a few seconds later, raising a brow as she stared at her sons bulge. 'Jeez. Are we sure Issei's human?' She snorted and once more returned to her book, her curiosity mostly satisfied.

Issei's healing was going at a record pace thanks to the black sludge that had formed due to the Hel's Bramble and the black water that combined in his stomach. While it also sapped away at his strength, it was now repairing him and making him even stronger than before. Even now, the black sludge was accelerating the healing of his mind, reattaching nerves and firing signals that slowly started to wake up the human.

Odin pushed open the doors to the medical facility, taking a look at the room. "Where's Freya?"

"Oh, she went the bathroom she said, which was about twenty minutes ago."

"Hmm." He replied as he walked over towards Issei who was still laying still on the bed. "I forgot to check this… but I must know how Issei was taken to Helheim." Odin said, lifting his right hand and forming a dark blue magic circle with Norse runes.

"Are you looking for something in particular?"

"The Bifrost was opened near Issei which pulled him in. I only know of one way that happens and that is with a crystal. So, whoever this person is, either put the crystal near Issei..." He trailed off as the magic circle in his hand fizzled out. "Someone inserted one into his body."

"Someone inserted something into him?! How?!" Frigg demanded, getting up from her seat.

"I do not know, but I removed the magical enchantments from the crystal. It will only open now to Issei's will, instead of an outside force."

"Do you know who put the crystal in him?"

"No. The magic was faint but nowhere near enough for me to trace it. We'll find out who did it one day." Odin said, letting out a sigh. "I'm just happy my son is going to be okay."

"There's a lot of abnormalities with him." Frigg said, frowning. "Whatever happened in Helheim was changed his body. I've been sensing something over the past day now… he gains an aura every now and then. I only get a glimpse of it as it quickly disappears within seconds, but… it's terrifies me."

"Terrifies you? Him?"

"That aura… it feels cold… not just cold… but like it devours any warmth around it. A cold darkness… an everlasting darkness." Frigg said, shivering from the feeling of that aura.

"I see… Well, whatever it is, we will deal with it." Odin said, patting his wife on the hand. It was right then Odin involuntarily shivered. A powerful aura swept through the medical room as the sheets beneath Issei started to freeze. A loud wind started to fill the room, whipping papers around, knocking over the machines that kept Issei fed. Odin pushed Frigg away from the bed as the aura exploded in size and strength, the ice freezing the bed and the sheets and the blankets, while also starting to creep on the floor in all directions. It was at that moment that Freya entered the room and was nearly buckled to her knees from the powerful, dangerous, sinister aura that permeated the room.

"What's going on?!" Freya asked as she moved her way into the room, before having to leap back as she noticed that ice was creeping across the room and was getting every closer to touching her.

"Stay back!" Odin called. "That ice is identical to the one in Helheim!"

"How is this possible?!" Frigg asked as she was slowly being pushed back by the ice towards the front door.

"I don't know! Something he did in Helheim changed him!" Odin exclaimed. The wind increased in power and sound, starting to sound like a freight train. Odin started to move himself towards the door, trying to get everyone safe. He would ward the door so the aura would stay put, but as soon as he went to close the door, the aura was sucked in like a twister, disappearing from the room. The ice stayed for a few more seconds, before it shattered open when Issei opened his eyes.

"Nnnnn." He groaned out, placing his right arm over his face to block out the light.

"Issei!" Frigg and Freya exclaimed, pushing Odin aside as they rushed to his bedside.

"OOOF!" A loud exhale of breath was heard when he was nearly tackled by two Goddesses and their arms squeezed around him tight enough to break bones! Well exaggeration. Issei was then released and when he was, he removed his arm from his eyes and slowly blinked his eyes, squinting. "Where… am I?" He asked, looking around the room, only for his eyes to lay on Frigg and Freya. He would give them a warm smile. "Mom! Freya!" He exclaimed, wrapping his arms around his mother tightly.

"Oh my boy, you're back. You're safe. Oh my boy is alive." Frigg cried. Freya on the other hand said nothing but her eyes shimmered with tears as she was happy to see her student make it back. Frigg would start to rub Issei's arms, staring at him intensely. "Do you hurt anywhere? Are you okay? Should I call the doctor?"

"Mom!" He said, trying to get her to stop frantically worrying over him. He started to feel smothered. "I'm okay! I don't feel any pain! I'm good! You can stop worrying!"

"Stop worrying?! You were on the edge of death! You're lucky to be alive!" Frigg scolded, pouting at her son before hugging him again. "But you're back! You made it!"

"Ack!" Issei said, not really good with this touchy-feely stuff.

"You should let your mother dote on you Issei. You were gone for over a year." Freya said. "She was worried sick."

"A year…? No… no way. I was gone for no more than a few days surely..." He said, his eyes widening. "What… happened to me?"

"You were forcefully pulled into Helheim. Do you not remember what happened?" Odin said from the door. He looked cautious more than relieved.

"It's all fuzzy. I remember bits and pieces but… no I don't remember."

"You were forcefully pulled into Helheim by an outside force. Someone implanted your body, your right eye to be exact, with a Bifrost crystal. It triggered when you did or said something, and the portal to Helheim opened up, pulling you inside. You spent an entire year in the realm of the dead. I do not know how you survived… but it looks like what ever you did there has altered you. Are you sure you are feeling alright?" Odin asked. He was half way out the door, with his right hand behind him. If you looked behind him, you would notice he was holding Gungnir.

"I… feel great. I feel nice and warm right now. I feel strong… stronger than I ever have. I feel like… I feel like I have… energy I never had before. I feel better than I have ever… even when Freya was training me I've never felt like this."

Odin stared at Issei intensely and decided to tell him. "Before you awakened, you let loose an aura." He said, letting it sink in.

"An aura… like one of yours?"

"In the way that I let mine loose yes. Where as mine is told to feel like a raging blizzard as well as a tsunami, yours… is scarily different. Your aura released ice and wind, freezing everything around you as well as blowing them around. You released the power of Helheim as an aura Issei."

"I… did that?" Issei asked, his eyes widened incredulously.

"Your aura… it felt like all the warmth in the world was gone and only eternal darkness and ice awaited. It was… it was terrifying." Frigg said, hugging herself as she remembered the terror she felt.

Odin stepped forward and revealed he was holding Gungnir, before putting it away. "What did you do in Helheim…?" He asked calmly, staring at his son cautiously. "I worry as a father but also as a leader. Your aura… it's not something that should be even possible." He said softly.

"I… I remember… eating… a plant and drinking water. Yes. I ate the Hel's Bramble and drank from a well."

"I see… so that is how you survived for so long..." Odin said quietly. "Who am I? Who is Frigg? And who is Freya? And what do they all mean to you?"

"You are my father… and I love you. You took me in when my parents were killed. Frigg… well she is my mother. She was the one who adopted me and I love her too. Freya… Um… She's my teacher." He said, obviously a little shy about admitting his crush on her. "I… respect her."

Frigg looked at Odin and he nodded. It was their son. Every bit of him was their son. Frigg then decided it was time to tease Freya and Issei at the same time. "Oh? Is that all? Because… I think you were having a nice pleasant dream about our resident Valkyrie Queen."

Both Freya's and Issei's faces lit up with embarrassment as blood filled their cheeks.

"I-I-I don't know what you're talking about!" Issei said with a huff, looking away.

"Oh you don't? Well, your body told quite the tale. I think you were thinking of Freya in ways that a student shouldn't think of their teacher~" Frigg teased and Odin decided to hop in.

"Or in ways that they should." Odin grinned. "Do take good care of our son now Freya~" He teased. With that, both Odin and Frigg left the two embarrassed people alone. Freya blushed heavily when she was alone with Issei, putting her face in her hands.

'I'm acting like I did with him… Jeez… I'm such a mess.' Freya thought.

"Freya… I..." Issei said, blushing. "I like you." He said in a very hushed whisper, his heart pounding against his chest. Freya stared at Issei and bit her bottom lip.

"I… yea… I like you too." Freya said with a sigh. "Somehow, a human, won my heart. How low I have fallen." She said dryly. Issei would grin brightly at hearing her return his affection, only to grin even wider with what he had to say next.

"Well, to be fair. I'm not exactly human anymore… I am an ice man!" Issei said, thumping his chest out.

"Don't ever call yourself again or I'm leaving you." Freya said flatly.

"Yes ma'am..." Issei said dejectedly. "So… what now?"

"I guess we try to return back to normalcy. You'll resume your training tomorrow. School is technically out."

"WOO HOO!"

"But you will still have to see Göndul."

"NOOOOOOOOOO!"
