Episode 26: A Mudkip Mission

One day on Mew and her friends' adventure.

"Attention, die-hard mystery fans, it's time for the program you've all been waiting for," May says as she forms a frame with her fingers, "Presenting; May's Expeditions, seeking out the wonders of the world! See the world as you've never seen it as we explore this river flowing through Dewford Island."

"Drops of water coming together to form a river and flowing to the ocean? Kinda, romantic stuff," Brock says.

"Know what? I betcha if we keep following this river, we'll end up finding some brand-new Pokémon, too," Max says.

"Now that's the part that sounds good to me," Tomo says.

"I think it's a great idea. We can keep up our training and also find some new Pokémon," Mew says.

Everyone, including the Pokemon, agree.

Mew and her friends continue their adventure and training around Dewford Island. Now, they are following an unnamed river in search of a new training spot."

May continues on, "Traveling without a road under their feet to guide them, but following a mysterious river instead, May's expedition moves fearlessly to whatever wonders await them. What's next?

Everyone suddenly stops as they behold what's ahead of them.

"Oh, no! The travelers have hit a bump in the road!" May says

What they behold is a waterfall.

May continues, "Unbelievably, May's expedition finds its path blocked by a tremendous waterfall!"

"What do we do now?" Tomo asks.

"I don't think even a Magikarp could climb that waterfall," Max says.

"But that's just the place where we'd find some unknown Pokémon!" Brock says.

"You're right, Brock! Come on, guys, let's get going!" Mew says.

"Hold on, Mew, I have an idea!" Brock says, he then calls out, "Lotad, go!"

Lotad then comes out.

Brock then swings a rope with a rock tied to it.

Brock then calls out, "Now, use your Water Gun!" And tosses a rock tied to a rope at the waterfall.

Lotad fires, giving the rock an extra boost to the point where it ties onto a tree branch.

Brock pulls the rope and says, "Alright, it's safe. Now just follow me."

The group agrees, "Right!"

And soon, everyone is starting to climb up, Brock, Mew, Max, Molly, Jen, and Tomo, along with their Pokemon on their back.

May holds out her hand on the top, "Just a little bit further."

Brock takes May's hand, "Thanks."

Brock is soon pulled up.

May then pulls Mew up, "Almost. There you go."

Soon help pulls Max and the rest of the group up.

"Thanks, May," Molly says.

"You really helped us out," Tomo says.

Mew soon realizes something, "Hey May, how get up there before us?"

May explains, "Mew, the newscaster always has to stay one step ahead. You see, that's the first rule in the news biz. Actually, I used Silcoon's thread to glide my way up here," And makes a cheeky face

Everyone was just baffled.

"If you were a real journalist, you wouldn't be giving away your secrets," Max says.

"So, this is what the top of a waterfall looks like," Jen says.

"The water flows more gently than I thought," May says.

"That's cause it's an offshoot, "Max says, "You see the main current's over there and it's much faster."

"That sounds dangerous, "Molly says.

Later, the gang follows the river, and it has signs of fog around here.

"There's fog here," Tomo says,

Soon, Brock's foot sinks into the muddy ground, "Feels like it's pretty muddy over here. Better be careful, you guys."

Everyone continues on until they come across a part of the river that's home to several Mudkip.

"Look over there! Aren't those Mudkip?" Max asks.

"You're right! Let's check it out!" Mew says and gets out his Pokédex.

Dextette says, "Mudkip, the Mud Fish Pokémon. A Water Type. Mudkip use the sensitive radar receptors on its head fin to determine what's going on around it. In a pinch, it can brandish enough power to crush rocks."

Brock spots two of the Mudkip talking on a mound of mud.

"Wow, they're just babies. I betcha those two must've just hatched from their eggs," Brock says.

"They are so adorable," Jen says.

"Truthfully, after my first experience with them, I'm not so thrilled," May says.

May remembers the first time she saw a Mudkip, just a month and a week ago. The Mudkip that sprayed her in the face.

Then May says, "Actually, those baby Mudkip are kinda cute."

"They're adorable," Mew says.

"Mudkip are extremely rare Pokémon as well, and their natural habitat is unknown, "Brock says.

"That's so cool we found them, then," Tomo says.

"Which I say means we catch em!" May says and runs toward the river, "Here goes!"

However, another Mudkip comes up to her and blocks her path before blasting her with a Water Gun.

Drenched, May says, "Guess I'm still not so thrilled."

Suddenly, one of the Mudkip falls into the pond and gets dragged toward the current, catching everyone's attention.

Max cries out, "That leads out to the main river!"

"The poor thing can't swim yet," Jen says.

Brock then says, "Lotad, go help!"

Lotad dives into the water and lifts it out of the water, but ends up getting dragged toward the current as well.

"This is bad!" Brock says and runs after it, "Lotad!"

However, the Mudkip that sprayed water in May's face dives in to make the rescue.

"Amazing!" Brock says.

The Mudkip brings Lotad and the infant to shore.

Brock then comes up to the Mudkip, "Wow! That was a close one, thanks!"

The Mudkip suddenly gets defensive.

But Brock reassures, "It's okay, no need to be afraid of me. I know you were only trying to protect those Mudkip babies when you used your Water Gun attack on May, right?"

"Mud?" (So?) Mudkip questions.

Suddenly Tomo's voice calls out, "Hey, Brock!"

Upon hearing Tomo's voice, the Mudkip runs away.

"Wait!" Brock calls out, but the Mudkip is already gone.

The rest of the gang runs up to him.

"Are you okay?" Mew asks.

"Fine," Brock says, then turns to Lotad, "Lotad, you were great."

"Lotad!" (Thank you!) Lotad says.

Brock then picks up the little Mudkip, "How about you, little fella?"

The Mudkipling confirms it's okay.

"She said she's okay," Mew translates.

Suddenly, they hear rustling in the bushes before someone pokes their head up to reveal to be a man with fair skin, but has white hair. From the looks of his hair, it seems to be similar to a Mudkip's fin.

Jen and Molly panic and hide behind Mew, "A Mudkip Monster!"

Then May comes in, "So, what should confront May's expedition, but a Mudkip transformed into a human-like monster?!"

"Give me a break! That's crazy!" Max says.

The man questions, "Who, me?! A monster?!"

"A talking monster?" May questions.

"Uh May, that's a person not a monster," Mew says.

"Exactly!" Max says.

The man says, "If you actually think you're gonna steal these Mudkip I've worked so hard to raise, think twice!"

"No! We'd never do that!" Mew says.

And Max says, "We were just trying to help out this baby Mudkip, that's all."

Even the Mudkippling agrees.

The man calms down and says, "Well, I guess I had you guys all wrong and I'm mighty sorry."

"Ah, that's okay," Mew says, "I'm Ashley from Pallet Town."

"And I'm May, pleased to meet you," May says.

"How you doing? My name's Max," Max says.

"And I'm Brock, how do you do?" Brock says.

"I'm Tomo," Tomo says.

"I'm Jen," Jen says.

"And I'm Molly," Molly says.

Then Mew says, "Brock was the guy who saved your baby Mudkip."

Brock blushes, "Really, it was my Lotad who did the saving".

"Howdy do? Well, I've been here in the swamp with these Mudkip for so long, just call me Swampy, or Old Man Swamp," The man, Swampy says.

"Nice to meet you," The group replies.

"Nice to meet you kids," Swampy says, "But, anyway, you should all know that there's no trespassing allowed in this swamp! How did you all get through the fence at the entrance?"

"Fence? What fence?" Jen questions.

"We didn't see a fence," Molly says.

Then Brock says, "We were just looking for a good spot for Pokémon training, so we took the river entrance in."

This has Swampy shocked, "What the hey?! You mean to tell me you climbed the waterfall?!"

"I'm afraid so, sir. We're sorry we trespassed, Swampy," Mew apologizes.

The Pokemon apologizes too.

But Swampy says with a smile, "Forget it! Anyone kind enough to save my Mudkip is a friend of mine. How about some tea before you leave?"

Soon, the group are at Swampy's cabin.

"So, this is your home, Mr. Swampy?" May says.

"Yes, I suppose it is, but its real purpose is to be a shelter for all those Mudkip I've been raising for all these years," Swampy says.

"Wow," Tomo says.

Brock turns his head to notice, "Excuse me, Swampy, what are those blue things over there?"

Swampy looks to see Brock is looking at a large container with hay inside. On the hay are blue eggs with orange spots.

"Those little beauties are Mudkip eggs!" Swampy says.

"Real Mudkip eggs?" Brock asks,

"No kidding? That is so cool!" Mew says.

"Wow! I've never seen a real life Mudkip egg before!" Max says.

Then May says, "And May's expedition stumbles onto something really big!"

"They look adorable," Jen says.

Brock then asks, "If you don't mind my asking, where'd you get these eggs from anyway?"

Swampy groans in frustration, "My grandma always used to tell me that I talk way too much for my own good, but there's no way I can keep quiet anymore!"

Everyone looks at Swampy, baffled.

"Chew on this thought for a moment. Tell me, you ever wondered why the first three Pokémon that any trainer receives are all raised to exactly the same level? Well, have ya?" Swampy says.

"I've wondered about that," Brock says.

"Hmm, I have to wonder about it too. Does it count for all regions? Because back at home, we get to choose Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur," Mew wonders.

"You know, I don't think I've ever thought about that," Tomo says.

"Yeah. I never thought about it, either," May says.

"Me neither. Though back in Johto we get Cyndaquil, Totodile, or Chikorita," Molly says.

Max turns to the others, "What? Any trainer should've thought about this at least one time!"

"Really? Not me," Tomo says.

"Sorry," May says.

"I don't think the Orange Island have their own set of Starter Pokemons," Jen says, thinking of it.

Then Swampy explains, "Well, the fact is, there's a whole lot of folks just like me who get a bunch of eggs for the Pokémon League, and then turn around and raise them, see?"

Brock: I get it! That makes total sense!" Brock says.

"Does Professor Birch do that, too?" May asks.

"Or Professor Elm?" Molly asks.

"Or Professor Oak?" Mew asks.

"The word on the street is that Professor Birch both catches and raises them himself, same with Elm and Oak," Swampy says.

"Really? I guess everyone's got their own way to do it," Tomo asks

"Sounds kinda like Pokémon breeding, right, Brock?" Max asks.

"Yeah, but it's a little bit different from what Mew and I are working towards doing," Brock says.

"What's this? Are you telling me that you two are breeders, Brock?" Swampy asks, "How'd you both like to see a Mudkip hatch right before your very eyes?"

"I'd love to! That would be amazing!" Brock says.

"I love to see them too," Mew says.

Outside, they soon find a nest with three Mudkip eggs in it before one of them starts hatching until a newborn Mudkip emerges

"Look at that. Those babies are just the cutest things, aren't they?" May says.

The hatchling Mudkip fires its first Water Gun at May's face.

"Oh, well," May sheepishly says

"I'm afraid you're never gonna make it onto any Mudkip's favorite list," Max says.

"Aww, little Mudkip's first Water Gun," Molly says.

"And right after hatching too," Mew says.

Brock then turns to Swampy, "By the way, I forgot to tell you it was actually a Mudkip from around here that rescued your other baby, Swampy."

"Really? A local?" Swampy asks.

"Yeah, it was a pretty big fella, too," Brock says.

Then Swampy says, "Oh, yeah! I know that one!"

"Really? Is that one of your Mudkip that you've raised here?" Brock asks.

"No, I'm afraid not, Brock," Swampy says, "That's just one of those wild and wooly creatures. That one sneaks in sometimes."

"Wild and wooly?" Brock questions.

"Heh. Well, Brock's right. Apparently, it thinks that all my Mudkip are its friends, "Swampy says.

"It sure seemed like it was a pretty good Pokémon to me," Brock says.

But Brock says, "No doubt about that, but it's so big, I'm afraid it's getting hard to find a trainer that wants it. It won't be too long before all of its friends leave, and when you think about it that way, I guess it really doesn't have any friends to speak of."

"I guess I understand," Brock says.

Meanwhile, outside the swamp, Team Rocket skulks around.

"Where, oh where have the little twerps gone?" Jessie says.

"Well, with the size of their group growing by the months or years, they couldn't have gotten too far," James says.

They soon come to a fence.

"Hey, what's dis?" Meowth asks.

"It's a fence, genius," Jessie says.

"I mean, what's it doing here?" Meowth asks.

"What do you think it's doing here?! "Jessie says. Then turns to James, "What's it doing here?"

"I'd say someone doesn't want us on their property," James says.

"Obviously, someone doesn't want us on their property!" Jessie says.

"But how come?" Meowth says.

"Of all of the dumb... Hold on," Jessie says. Then turns to James, "How come?"

"They must have something of value that needs protecting," James says.

"Dey've got something of value?" Meowth questions.

"Well, then, that would mean, beyond this fence lies a treasure just waiting for us to claim!" Jessie says.

James and Meowth cheer, "Yippe-yay!"

"Which leaves us no choice!" Jessie says and calls out, "Go, Seviper!"

Seviper comes out.

Then James calls out his Pokemon, "Cacnea, go!"

Cacnea comes out, but hugs James instead.

James panics and muffles, "Not me, you poky pain in the neck, the fence!"

Jessie calls out, "Okay, Seviper, use Poison Tail on the fence!"

Seviper performs the attack and lands, but nothing happens to the fence

"It didn't break!" Jessie says, shocked.

"It's stronger den we taught!" Meowth says.

Then James calls out, "Alright, Cacnea, use Needle Arm!"

Cacnea performs the attack, but the target hit wasn't the fence, but James instead, who ends up smashing through the fence after being sent flying.

Dazed, James says, "All's well that ends well, right?"

"Woooobbuffet!" (Painfully!) Wobbuffet says.

Suddenly, Wobbuffet causes some soda cans to rattle, setting off an alarm that Swampy is quickly able to hear.

Swampy says, "Hey! Did all of you hear that? I'll be right back," And runs off.

"What's going on?" Max asks.

"My guess it's trouble," Mew says.

"Action packed adventures for May's expedition, that's what!" May says.

"Come on guys, let's go!" Mew says.

Everyone rushes off, but Brock stops when he sees the Mudkip from earlier.

"Well, look what we've got here," Brock says, "Are you here to help us out like before?"

The Mudkip soon runs off.

"Hey, wait up!""Brock calls out and runs after it.

Brock soon comes to a stop in another part of the swamp.

"Wait a minute. Mudkip HAD to come this way," Bock says and calls out, "Hey! Hey, Mudkip! Where did you run off to?!"

"Mudkip Mud." (Here I am.) Mudkip calls out, coming out of the hiding place.

"Mudkip, there you are," Brock says and approaches Mudkip, "Come with me, come on."

Mudkip backs down, nervously.

Brock then kneels down, "Hey, Mudkip, I'd like to be your friend, if you'll let me. Here, try some of this," and pulls out some Pokémon food, "It's my very own homemade Pokémon food and it's really good."

But Mudkip doesn't bite

"I guess you just don't trust me do you, Mudkip? Well, guess I shouldn't be surprised, we just met," Brock says.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group arrive to find the remains of the fence, broken.

"Whoa! Your fence is totaled," Tomo says.

"How in the world?" Swampy asks, and steps on something, "Huh?" He looks and kneels down, "What's this?" And picks up one of the soda cans that were part of the alarm, "My can"!

Team Rocket soon laughs, revealing they were the ones who were responsible.

Jessie: (leaps out of a bush)

Prepare for trouble, now you've seen what we can do.

James: (leaps out of the same bush)

Make it double, we kicked the can and next is you!

Jessie:

To protect the world from devastation.

James:

To unite all peoples within our nation.

Jessie:

To denounce the evils of truth and love.

James:

To extend our reach to the stars above.

Jessie:

Jessie.

James:

James.

Jessie:

Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light.

James:

Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight!

Meowth:

Dat's right!

Wobbuffet:

Woooobbuffet! (End of scene!)

"Who did they say they are?" Swampy questions.

"Team Rocket," Mew says.

"They're a bunch of crooks who steal Pokemon," Tomo says.

"And follow us wherever we go," Jen adds.

"That right?!" Swampy says.

Then says to Team Rocket, "I'm on to your game! You crooks came here to try and steal the Mudkip I've been raising for the Pokémon League, now, didn't you?!"

"So, Mudkip, huh?" Jessie says.

James says, "Aha! So that's the treasure you're protecting!"

"And dose Mudkip are really rare Pokémon, too," Meowth says.

"Think of the waves of joy washing over the boss when we deliver them!" Jessie says.

"Think of the waves of promotions washing over us!" James says.

Meowth cheers, "Yay! Forget about administrators, we'll be big time executives! Ha!"

"Or even CEOs!" Team Rocket says.

"Is something wrong with those three?" Swampy asks.

"Besides being drowned in their own fantasy," Mew says.

Then May says, "You know, this wouldn't have happened if you hadn't given them so much information in the first place."

"Oopsy, you're so right, May," Swampy says, "My grandma used to get so mad at me for that. But being secretive has never been in my nature! Not one bit! For example, I probably shouldn't mention this, but if that dam over there was to break, the water would flood the swamp and leave the baby Mudkip and any other living thing around here with no place left to live!"

"You did it again!" Max says.

Swampy covers his mouth in a panic

"You might want to think about breaking that habit, Swampy," Tomo says.

"Yeah, I know that much, but for some reason, it doesn't seem to help!" Swampy says.

"You heard what he said about the dam, didn't you?" Jessie says.

"You mean, like, how, if it would somehow break, we'd get all the Mudkip?" Meowth says.

James calls out, "Cacnea, Needle Arm!"

Cacnea comes out, but hugs James instead.

"Not me, you fool, them!" James says.

Cacnea's attack lands, but hits James again, sending him flying straight through the dam and leaving a hole where he entered.

Warped, James says, "All's well that ends well."

"That has to hurt," Mew says.

"No kidding," Tomo says.

Soon, the water comes gushing out of the hole.

"This is terrible!" Swampy says.

"Now those baby Mudkip are in big trouble!" Molly says.

"We gotta help them!" Max says.

"Then let's hurry!" Mew says.

Everyone rushes to the rescue.

Meanwhile, Brock was still trying to gain the wild Mudkip's trust when they both soon heard and saw the flood caused by the dam breaking.

Brock asks, "Whoa, what's that?"

"Mudkip." (Trouble.) Mudkip answers.

The rushing wave of water approaches the Mudkiplings.

Brock throws his Pokeball as he calls out, "Forretress, go!"

And Forretress comes out of the Pokeball.

Brock then calls out, "Use Rapid Spin to stop the water!"

Forretress manages to push the wave back

Brock then throws his Pokeball as he calls out, "Now, Lotad, take care of those baby Mudkip!"

Lotad comes out and helps Brock bring the Mudkiplings to shore.

"There you go," Brock says and puts three Mudkiplings down.

"Lotad Lotad," (Nice and safe now) Lotad says.

"I hope there aren't anymore," Brock says

However, there were two Mudkiplings stranded on the mud mound in the center of the river.

"Alright, Lotad…" Brock says to Lotad.

But before he can finish, the wild Mudkip dives in.

"Look who it is!" Brock says.

The Mudkiplings hop onto their hero's back as it takes them to shore.

"Good job, Mudkip," Brock says.

Soon, Forretress starts losing steam with the Rapid Spin.

"That's enough! Return!" Brock says.

Forrestrees stops and heads back to Brock as he and the other Pokémon run up a hill.

Brock calls out, "Come on! We've got to find shelter on higher ground!"

They manage to reach higher ground just in time

"Thanks, Forretress, and Lotad, you were great. And you, Mudkip, you're really something special," Brock says.

However, one Mudkipling calls for help as it gets dragged away by the current.

"Oh, no! There's still one other one left!" Brock cries out.

The wild Mudkip dives in to save the baby, but can't seem to fight the current to go back upriver while Brock and Lotad run along the riverbank.

"Hang in there, Mudkip!" Brock calls out.

Soon, Mew and the others including Swampy arrive.

"No!" Swampy cries out.

"Mudkip's got a hold of the baby!" May says.

"But they headed straight for the falls!" Mew says

Both the Mudkip and the baby end up going over.

"Mudkip, no!" Brock cries out.

However, it's revealed that both of them were hanging on to a rock for dear life.

"Mudkip, hang in there!" Brock calls out.

"Mudkip!" Jen calls out.

Both Mudkip struggle to hang on.

"I don't think it can hang on much longer!" Max says.

"We need to get them, now!" Mew calls out.

Brock soon sees the grapple, still tied to the tree branch.

An idea comes to him, "Wait, I know! Hold on, Mudkip!" and runs to the grapple.

"I think Brock has an idea," Mew says.

Brock ties himself to the grapple, and calls out, "Here I come!" Then he dives in.

Everyone is shocked by Brock's plan, but watch anyway.

"Careful!" Swampy calls out.

Brock holds out his hand to the Mudkip after going over the waterfall.

"Hurry, Mudkip, grab ahold of my hand!" Brock calls out.

Mudkip barely manages to look at him.

Brock continues, "Do it now! If you don't then you and the baby are gonna, get washed away! Please! You're gonna have to trust me! Come on, now!"

Mudkip extends its tail

"Great! Now, closer," Brock says.

Both human and Pokémon try to reach out further, and Brock FINALLY manages to rescue them.

"Mudkip! It's okay, you're safe now," Brock says.

Up top…

Everyone starts pulling.

"Okay, guys, keep pulling and let's get them back up here!" Mew says.

"Pull!" Swampy says.

Soon, the rescue is complete.

"Brock, you did it! You helped me again!" Brock says.

"Nah, it was Mudkip who saved the baby," Brock says.

Then turns to Mudkip, "Thanks, Mudkip."

Soon, they all hear a rustling nearby

"What?!" Swampy says, shocked.

"It came from the swamp!" Tomo says.

Soon, three little Mudkips over and hide behind Mew, May, and Tomo.

"It's the little Mudkips, "May says.

"I think we have another problem," Mew says.

Picking up the three Mudkips, Mew and the others rush back to find Team Rocket in a robot, cutting down the trees in the area while laughing.

"Now presenting our Mechanized Mudkip Maiden that'll dig up every Mudkip dat Swampy guy evah raised!" Meowth says.

"Helping us to break new ground with the boss!" James says.

"Unearthing a paycheck with lots of zeros!" Jessie says.

"And now I feel a song coming on!" Meowth adds

Jessie and James make the robot dance while they sing and scoop up the Mudkiplings.

"Step right up and catch yourself one of Dewford Island's famous Mudkip!" Meowth says.

Swampy says in shock, "Oh no! The Pokémon League trusted me to raise their Mudkip, but now look what's happened!"

"Stop it, Team Rocket!" Mew shouts.

"Leave them alone!" Molly calls out.

Jessie calls out, "When Piloswine fly!"

"And that means never!" James says.

The robot scoops up more Mudkiplings

"This is just not right!" Brock says.

Brock soon notices that the robot is sinking into the mud.

"Oh, yeah," That is when Brock remembers how his feet sunk in the mud earlier. Which gives him an idea, "I've got it!"

Then calls out, "Quick, Lotad and Mudkip, use your Water Gun attacks to soak the ground with water!"

"What good will that do?" May says.

"The soil is soft around here, so if we can make the ground around the robot's feet softer…" Brock says.

"Great idea!" Mew says.

"With the ground super soft and muddy, the robot will get stuck!" Max says.

"They'll stop dead in their tracks!" May adds.

"That's using your brains, boys!" Swampy says.

Brock then calls out, "Go, Lotad and Mudkip, use Water Gun!"

"I'll help too! Go Slowpoke!" Mew calls out,

Tomo then says, "Aqua! Dew! Go!"

Soon, the Shiny Slowpoke, Dew the Totodile and Aqua the Squritle come out.

Both of them call out, "Use Water Gun!"

All three begin helping Lotad and Mudkip by using Water Guns at the ground beneath the robot

"Dat's weird. Looks like dose two are having deir Pokémon water us," Meowth says

Jessie smiles, "Maybe they think that, by using Water Gun on our machine, it'll make us grow."

James laughs, "We're big enough, thank you!"

And Meowth laughs, "We might as well catch Lotad, Squirtle, Totodile, Slowpoke, and dat older Mudkip while we're at it."

Right on cue, the robot starts to lean to the left as it sinks, and Team Rocket is quick to panic when they realize what's going on.

Jessie panics, "They're not trying to make us grow!"

"They're trying to make us slow!" James cries out.

"And we're sinking like a big stick in da mud!" Meowth adds.

"Good job, Lotad and Mudkip!" Brock says.

"You too, Slowpoke," Mew says.

"Aqua! Dew! Great job!" Tomo says.

"Keep it up!" Brock says.

The Water Gun continue to fire.

Jessie cries out, "Meowth, do something!"

"What can I do? Make mud pie?" Meowth says.

"It's working!" Mew says.

"And in a big way!" May says.

"Alright, let's hear it for Brock, Mew, and Tomo!" May says.

Then Brock calls out, "Now, Mudkip, those babies need to be saved!"

Mudkip charges and manages to break the rope holding the bag of Mudkiplings, allowing them to escape.

Brock then says, "Ashley, your turn!

"Okay!" Mew says, and calls out, "Go, Pikachu, Eevee, Thunderbolt em!"

Piakchu and Eevee leap off Mew's shoulders and perform the attack. With two combined blasts of Thunderbolt, the robot is destroyed, and Team Rocket goes flying.

"Perhaps if we hadn't been working in a swamp, then our plan wouldn't have ended up a stinker," Jessie says.

"Well, this gives a new meaning to stinking to high heaven," James says.

"So, all's well dat ends well," Meowth says.

"Wobbu!" (Really ends well!) Wobbuffet says.

Soon, James cries out, "Meowth, that was my line! You stole my line!"

"Woooobbuffet!" (We're blasting off again!) Wobbuffet cries out.

Soon, all the Mudkiplings are back in their home, living free and in the wild.

"Wow, Mudkip, I am so proud of you," Brock says.

"Mudkip," (Thank you.) Mudkip says.

Soon, one of the Mudkip approaches May.

"Hi Mudkip," May says.

Mudkip then sprays a little water at May's face.

"Oh boy," May says.

Then the Mudkip snuggles May's leg.

"Aww, I think it likes you," Molly says.

May giggles and picks up the little Mudkip, and pets it.

The other two little Mudkips happily nuzzle Tomo and Mew's legs as well. Mew pet one of them and Tomo tickles the other one.

Jen says, "Check out how close Brock and that Mudkip have become."

"And think about how shy that Mudkip was at first," Max says.

"Brock's great with Pokemon," May says.

And nuzzles the baby Mudkip, "And I bet you just like to tease me."

"Mud," The little Mudkip replies and nuzzles May's cheek.

Swampy walks to Brock, "Excuse me, Brock. I'd like to ask you favors, okay?" Then turns to the others, "Ashley, May, Tomo, I like to ask you for one as well."

"Sure, what is it?" Brock asks.

Swampy says, "That Mudkip can't make any lasting friends staying here, and that young Mudkiplings, like its brothers and sisters, need to see the world. And now those little rascals have a friend for each of them, and that's both of you. I'd be happier if I could tell everyone to consider taking them with you."

"Yeah?" Brock questions.

"Really?" Tomo asks.

"Brock, that is so awesome!" Jen happily says.

"You hear that, May!" Max says, excited.

"That'd be totally cool!" Molly says.

Brock, Mew, Tomo, and May are a little surprised. All four of them look at each other. They smile and nod.

"We'd love to, Swampy!" Brock says.

"We'll make sure they're well taken care of," Mew says.

"Yeah. right little Mudkip. You like to come with me? " May says.

The baby Mudkip sprayed May in response. Then gives her a kiss on the cheek.

May giggle, "Little rascal. I take that as a yes."

The other Little Mudkip climbs on Tomo's shoulders.

"So, Mudkip, how do you feel about coming with me?" Mudkip asks.

The little Mudkiplings are eager to go with their new trainers, but the elder Mudkip seems hesitant

"Come on, what do you say?" Brock asks.

The Mudkip finally agrees and leaps into Brock's arms.

"Yeah, that's the way! From now on, it's gonna be you and me together all the time, Mudkip," Brock says.

"We'll take good care of you," May says.

"You'll do great, traveling with us," Mew says.

"You'll have a lot of fun," Tomo says.

Swampy happily says, "Thank you, everyone. Be sure to take care of them for me."

"We will," Mew says.

Then Brock says to Mudkip, "You can count on us, okay?"

"All of us," Tomo says. Then looks at his new Mudkip, "Right, River."

All the four Mudkip agree.

After welcoming four Mudkips as new friends and members of their team, Mew and her friends continue on training and traveling around Dewford Island in preparation of their next adventure.
