He left Hyperspace and descended towards the planet. He approached Lars Homestead. Luke saw a familiar Treadwell droid working on a moisture vaportar with a grey protocol droid. Luke landed the shuttle and walked towards the droids.
"What is the problem? "Luke asked the droids. "The condenser is broken. "Threepio said. Luke recognized the voice. He looked at the vaportar. "There is the problem. It's clogged. I was a moisture farmer for 19 years and those things were always getting clogged. "Luke said. "I am C3P0 human cyborg relations. "Threepio said. A man in a hover chair approached Luke. "I am Cliegg Lars. Why are you here? "Cliegg asked. "I came from the Jedi Temple. Anakin Skywalker is worried about his mother Shmi. Is she alright? "Luke asked. "She was picking mushrooms off the vaportars when she was kidnapped by Tuskin Raiders. I led a group of locals to save her, and I lost my leg in the process. Most didn't make it back alive. "Cliegg explained. Owen and Beru came by Cliegg's side. It was odd to see them alive again. "How did you find this place young jedi? "Owen asked. "I followed the force and it led me here. "Luke answered.
"Threepio can you speak Tuskin? "Luke asked. "Yes, I am fluent in Tuskin. "Threepio answered. Luke wasn't surprised. "I need your help to get Shmi back. Will you come with me? "Luke asked. "Yes, I will. "Threepio replied. They boarded the shuttle and took off. "How will you find Miss Shmi? "Threepio asked. "I will let the force lead me to her. "Luke replied. Artoo started beeping excitedly. 'R2D2? How can you be here? You are Padme's droid. He keeps saying you are from the future. "Threepio asked. "He was my astromech droid and we had a hyperdrive malfunction. How did you end up on a moisture farm? "Luke asked. "When Shmi was freed, I went with her to the Lars Homestead. I was built by her son Anakin. "Threepio explained. "His is my father. I don't know how my mother is yet. "Luke answered. They flew over several Jawa sandcrawlers with their front ramps open. They flew over other moisture farms and finally reached the tuskin camp.
Luke spotted Shmi tied up and landed beside her. He freed her from the poles she was tied to. "Thanks whoever you are. I don't think I would have lasted much longer. "Shmi in a weak voice said. Luke started to help her to his ship when three tuskins approached him. Two held rifles pointed at him. Threepio translated what the leader said. Threepio spoke to the leader. He raised his hand, and his men lowered their weapons. "He says they were led to her by a bounty hunter named Jengo Fett. He promised them food and riches. They only got money. As a result, they have been taking it out on her. "Threepio said. "I brought food to barter with. Will they accept it in trade for Shmi? "Luke asked C3P0. Threepio asked the tuskins. "He argess! "Threepio turned to Luke and shouted. Luke brough the food from the shuttle and took Shmi. They left for Lars Homestead. Luke gave Shmi some water and some food. "What happened to you? "Luke asked. "I was gathering mushrooms when a bounty hunter and some tuskin raiders grabbed me. Cliegg tried to stop them, but he was knocked out. "Shmi said. "A Sith lord had you kidnapped to turn your son to the dark side. "Luke explained. "Why my Ani? What did he do to the Sith? "Shmi asked. "He did nothing to the Sith. The Sith Lord is after his power and wants to add it to his own. "Luke warned.
"Maybe I should have a few words with him. "Shmi growled. "You can't stop a sith like that. He would kill you on sight. I am trying to prevent Anakin from falling to the dark side. "Luke said. They landed and Luke helped Shmi inside the homestead. Shmi laid down on her bed. The others came in. "Who are you? "Shmi asked. "I am your grandson from the future. Somehow, I traveled back in time to this point in time. In my future Anakin became a sith lord called Darth Vader. I don't know why he fell to the dark side. I am trying to stop it from happening. "Luke explained. "Who is your mother? "Beru asked Luke. "I don't know. "Maybe it was that girl he met when Qui-Gon came looking for parts to repair the queen's starship. She said she was the queen's handmaiden. Her name was Padme. "Shmi said. "She saved me from falling into Naboo's sun in my starfighter. She reminds me of a friend of mine called Princess Leia. "Luke replied.
"Shmi you need to rest. Luke, do you want to stay here for the night? "Cliegg asked. "Yes, I will stay. "Luke replied. Luke returned to his ship and tried to contact Anakin. He got no reply. Luke went back into the living quarters and slept in the guest room which was his room in his time.
