Chapter 1
When One Story Ends
After a brief silence, I eyed the man in the wheelchair intensely. "Have I seen you before?", I asked. "Indeed you have. But in case you have forgotten, my name is Professor Charles Xavier, leader of the X-Men and part of the Illuminati.", the main in the wheelchair said. "Wait, I remember now! You helped me through my trauma, didn't you?", I asked. Chuckling slightly, the professor said, "Well, at least you remember now.". "So, Professor, what's caused you to cross dimensions and enter this world?", I asked. "Don't be so foolish. You caused an Incursion whilst escaping the Nightmare Void in order to ruin the Ascension Project and ruin the heroes' cause. Whilst I do not blame you in the slightest for destroying the heroes' plan so thoroughly, I still want you to come with me and come in for questioning, just so the rest of the Illuminati and myself can understand why you did such a thing. Let me stress: we are not punishing you, just curious.", the professor said as a dark portal formed behind him. As he swivelled his wheelchair so he was facing the portal, I walked up to the professor, saying, "Alright, let's go.".
As we walked through the dark portal, I saw our surroundings twist and warp before our eyes. Time and space both gave way to chaos as colours warped and faded, replaced by new and even impossible colours; those colours replaced by even weirder colours in turn. Suddenly, the colours were replaced by metaphysical forces I felt couldn't even exist; the forces then replaced by pixellated graphics as if we were travelling through Minecraft or even a 3D representation of an 8-bit or even 16-bit game. Eventually, we reached the end of the portal, coming out at a very technologically advanced city full of holographic billboards and…other types of holograms. "Welcome, Jack, to New Marvel City.", the professor said. "It's wonderful.", I said, looking around in awe. Suddenly, a man in a very advanced suit of red armour with golden highlights and a golden faceplate landed in front of us. "Professor.", the man said. "Come now, Tony, you know that members of the Illuminati like ourselves don't need to refer to each other quite so formally.", the professor said to the man in armour. Lifting the faceplate, Tony said, "Oh, sorry. It's just that with all the chaos that YHVH caused, extra scrutiny is being placed on the Illuminati, so I just needed to confirm your identity.", Tony said. As he talked, I examined his face, noting he had the face of Robert Downey Jr.
Turning his attention to me, Tony then said, "And now you. From what I heard, you created an Incursion while you were trapped in Cyber Space. Is that true?". "Yes. Though considering the circumstances, it's actually quite justified. You see, I caused the Incursion to stop the Ascension Project from becoming a reality. I had to in order to stop the Multiverse from being destroyed and replaced with a world without freewill. If you were in my position, you'd understand.", I said. "I'm not saying I don't; I just want you to confirm it with the rest of us. Meet us at the Baxter Foundation building and there we will listen to your testimony.", Tony replied before flying off. Suddenly, I then found myself in a strange mechanical chamber. The floor was an eerie white colour, as were the walls. Walking up to the door, I saw it open without my needing to touch it, only to find myself in an equally strange hotel corridor. At the far end of the corridor, I saw two young girls with light brown hair and blue eyes wearing respectively a blue onesie and a pink onesie; further, the girl wearing the blue onesie had much shorter hair whilst the girl wearing the pink onesie had noticeably longer hair. As they started to move towards me, I turned my back to them and ran only to find that I couldn't quite escape. "Come play with us Jack, forever and ever and ever…", the girls said in unison. I then found myself in a strange hotel room with the lights off. "Strange.", I thought before I felt a very strange thought running through my mind. Terrified, I walked up to the door and tried to open it only to find it was strangely closed shut. "Huh?", I asked myself before I heard a strange buzzing on my phone. Upon looking at the screen, I noticed an unfamiliar name on it. "Charlie Morningstar?", I asked in confusion before an equally unfamiliar and female voice rang out, causing me to jump. "Took you long enough. Yeah, it's me, Charlie. Seems the Illuminati might be on your case with that Incursion you caused; still, inventive on your part. Anyway, don't try to escape; I'm coming to get you now.", the voice said before mysteriously disappearing.
Looking around the room, I then wondered what the voice meant by forbidding me to escape. Before I could think further on that, I saw a dark red portal made of hellfire open up. Out of it walked a woman with long blonde hair and red eyes wearing a red business suit accompanied by a man with short red hair, red eyes and antlers wearing another red business suit and holding a cane with a red eye on it. "Wait, who are you two?", I asked. "Well, I had no idea that your amnesia after Eunie shot you would be this bad. Maybe 2B restored only part of your memories. Regardless, that is of no importance to me. Anyway, I am Charlie Morningstar and this is my friend Alastor.", the blonde-haired woman said, indicating the redhead beside her. "Honestly, Charlie, if you're going to introduce me, at least mention my exploits as the Radio Demon.", the redhead said to the blonde-haired woman. "Wait, you're demons? Both of you?", I asked. "Oh, did I not mention that? I thought I mentioned that when we first met. Obviously not.". Charlie said. Suddenly, I felt my demonic left arm seize up, unleashing a violent storm of red electricity. "Don't fight it, unleash it!", Alastor said. Suddenly, I found myself in front of a giant skyscraper, the door mysteriously open. As I entered, I saw a long line of robots that looked very familiar to me for some reason. "Do you remember them?", Alvis said. "I might. I don't know where I've seen them though.", I replied.
Walking further into the building, I caught the sight of a trio of girls- one of them had braided red hair and red eyes whilst wearing red armour, the other had long blue hair and blue eyes whilst wearing blue armour and the last had short blonde hair, green eyes and glasses whilst wearing green armour. As I walked closer to them, I saw the girls turn to me in perfect synch and uncannily smile. "You've finally arrived. We've been waiting for you.", said the red-headed girl. "I'm sorry, I don't think we've met. Who are you?", I asked. "I am Hikaru Shidou.", the red-haired girl said. "I am Umi Ryuuzaki.", the blue-haired girl said with a similar voice to Blanc. "And I am Fuu Hououji.", the blonde girl said with a similar voice to Atoli. "Hi, my name's Jack.", I said. "Oh, we know who you are. Lord Alastor told us about you, Toby.", Umi said. "Wait, you called me Toby too?", I asked. "Is that so odd?", Hikaru asked. "It's just that my name is Jack, not Toby. So why are you convinced I'm someone else?", I asked. "Maybe that's something you should take up with the Illuminati, not us.", Fuu said before the three girls suddenly disappeared. "Wait, I am in the real world and not Cyber Space, right?", I asked myself. "That is correct. You escaped Cyber Space by forcing the Nightmare Void to crash but I feel that the damage YHVH visited upon reality has not yet begun to repair.", Sage said behind me. Taking a moment to think, I then said, "Well, I need to see the Illuminati now, Sage.". "You do that.", Sage said. Ascending a staircase, I then found myself facing a strange metal door. "OK, let's-a-go.", I said, opening it.
