Digimon Adventure 02, Episode 1: Enter Flamedramon
TK narrated, "We've all grown up a lot since that summer in the digital world! Tai's in middle school. My brother Matt's trying to be a rock star. Sora's become qute a tennis player! Izzy's in middle school too! Mimi and her folks moved to New York, and Joe's still studying to be a doctor. But for Kari and I, it's just the beginning."
But this is where the story truly begins...
Standing in a rocky terrain, and a black tower behind, there is a boy who sports spiky hair in varying shades of blue and light blue. He wears yellow sunglasses with purple lenses, a blue, gray and white jumpsuit, black shoes, cuffs on his wrists and ankles, a dark gray belt with a yellow buckle on it, and also a blue cape with a yellow lining that looks very much like insect wings, with golden-yellow shoulder pads.
"Run for your lives! It's the evil Digimon Emperor!" A Digimon exclaimed in terror. He cracks a whip and several black rings come flying.
Gazimon and other Digimon are running for their lives as the black rings go flying. A ring clamped at the neck of a Gazimon. Another clamped on the waist of a Gotsumon. And another clamps onto the neck of a Unimon who attempted to fly away.
The Digimon hit by the rings all have red glowing eyes. The Digimon Emperor chuckled evilly as he sees his collection of Digimon increasing.
Gatomon is running for her life as a black ring comes close to her. Just when it gets close to her, Gatomon's tail ring glows and disabled the black ring.
"That was close," Gatomon said.
A red eye glows behind the cat. Sensing danger, Gatomon quickly turned around and Unimon attacks her.
We look into the city of Odaiba. And we set our sights on an apartment building that is home to TK and his mother whom just recently moved in. Nancy Takaishi is working as a journalist, and she thought it would be good for TK to see his brother whenever he wanted to, and he knew he would spend time with Kari again, since she caught on to her youngest son having a crush on her since meeting her.
"You're going to be late for school, TK! Hurry up and finish your breakfast!" Nancy called out.
"New school, new apartment, same old lumpy oatmeal," TK said as he stood up. He wore a yellow and teal long-sleeved shirt with a high collar, a pair of teal shorts, dark purple socks, green boots with gray soles. He puts his bowl in the sink and puts on a white bucket hat. "I'm done, mom! I'm leaving!"
"Sorry I can't drive you to school, TK, but I have to write this article before deadline. It's all about the historical significance of toilet paper," Nancy said. "Hmm..." TK walks by her office.
"It's okay. I'll walk," TK said as he walked out the door. "See ya later." He walks out the gate and shuts it behind him. He walked over to the elevator and sees 2 kids in it. One is a girl with long and straight lavender hair that reached to her waist and brown eyes and is always seen wearing large, round glasses. She wore a pink short-sleeved overshirt over a red dress with dark blue shorts and socks, and pink slip-on shoes with white soles. She also wears a blue bandana on her head. The other is a younger boy with light colored skin, brown hair in a short bowl cut, and green eyes. He wore a purple turtleneck sweater, grey pants, black socks, and brown and white slip-on shoes. "How's it goin?"
"Fine, thank you," the girl said.
"That's great. My name's TK, and my mom and I just moved into the building. I'm in seventh grade, class A. Nice to meet you," TK said.
"My name's Yolei. Would you like to walk to school with us? It takes approximately 12.3 minutes, and that's if there's no wind. It'll be fun! Oh, and this is Cody," Yolei introduced.
"Welcome to the building, TK. And hurry, we don't want to be late on our first day!" Cody said.
"Let's do it!" TK said.
TK, Yolei, and Cody walked down the streets and right to the school.
"Hey, Yolei, can you come over after school and fix my computer again?" Cody asked.
"Only if your mom makes those brownies I love!" Yolei said.
"I'll email her and tell her to make a batch right away!" Cody said.
"It's a deal. Perfecto!" Yolei said.
TK stopped and he sees a bunch of kids playing soccer. There was one in particular that caught his eye. He somehow looked like Tai.
"Kick it over here!" One of the boys yelled.
"Tai? I'm seeing things," TK said.
The boy is wearing a pair of square goggles, a blue short-sleeved open vest over a dark blue shirt with long sleeves, a thick white stripe across the chest and thin yellow stripes over and under it. He also wears dark brown shorts, dark blue socks, and dark blue boots with blue soles.
"Here you go, Davis!" Another boy shouted. The misses the ball, but TK caught it.
"Thanks. Great catch," the goggled boy said. TK just looked at him. The goggled boy was dumbfounded, but TK tossed the ball back to him.
"You look familiar. Must be the goggles," TK said.
"Hey, Davis, you're holding up the game!" A random boy called out.
"Yeah!" The rest of the boys agreed.
"Yeah!" Davis said, kicking the ball. TK kept on looking and he shook it off.
"What am I thinking? That kid can't be Tai. He's a much better soccer player than that kid," TK said.
The bell rings and we reach room 5-A. Davis happy to be sitting next to Kari. She's wearing a sleeveless white and pink turtleneck shirt, pink fingerless opera gloves with an oval cut from the top of the palms, yellow shorts with a brown belt, white socks, and pink and gray boots with black soles.
Davis was happy to be sitting right next to her. He's smiling warmly at her.
"What luck! You're in my class again, Kari!" Davis said. Kari turned to look at him.
"I wouldn't call that luck," Kari said.
"Hey, the weirdest thing just happened. This new kid said I reminded him of someone. Probably thinks I'm a famous movie star," Davis said.
We go to the Middle School side of the Odaiba School where classes are close to starting and Tai Kamiya, the wild haired leader of the DigiDestined and bearer of the Crest of Courage is rooting through his locker looking for a few things after finding his goggles. Even after growing up, Tai can't help but keep wearing his trademark goggles which he's always kept as a little boy.
"Well. Holidays over now and it's time to get schooling. Place hasn't changed a bit, I can't wait for soccer, if I can lead a bunch of kids, one of them being my sister, into battle against a couple of freaks then of course I can lead a couple of teenage boys into winning a couple of soccer matches," Tai said. He grins. He thought, "A few practices should get me into shape. I wonder if Sora will have time to watch."
Thinking about his best friend since childhood/love interest causes him to blush. He always thought Sora was beautiful but over the years Tai has noticed she's become even more beautiful. Despite their, "little" kiss after defeating Diaboramon and rekindling their relationship the both of them quite haven't gotten around to admitting their feelings to each other. Between Tai playing soccer and Sora playing tennis and helping out her mother in the flower shop they have little free time but luckily the two lovebirds manage to arrange meetings at Morealli's, go to movies, play some soccer/tennis and all that other fun stuff.
"I've got to stop hiding my feelings. This is the year I'm gonna tell Sora how much I…" Tai thought. His train of thought was interrupted.
"Hey Tai," Sora greeted.
"Speak of the devil," Tai said.
Tai smirks and closes his locker before turning to his best friend. The red haired girl and bearer of the Crest of Love, Sora Takenouchi looks at her crush with a smile on her face. Tai is a bit nervous but replies.
"Hey Sora!" Tai greeted back.
Tai can't help but notice how beautiful Sora looks in the outfit she's wearing even though the uniform has to be worn for school. Sora becomes confused when she sees the blush.
"Tai, is everything okay? Your face is red?" Sora asked.
"Oh…you just surprised me, that's all," Tai said while blushing.
"Oh…okay," Sora said. Sora has a feeling she knows what's going on because she's feeling the same thing too. She thought, "Tai's really grown up to be so much more handsome over the years, I wish I could tell him how I feel."
The both of them are blushing but they manage to shrug it off.
"So, Sora are you ready for the new school year?" Tai asked.
"Yeah, you bet! What about you?" Sora asked.
"I'm more than ready, especially for the new soccer season," Tai said.
"You'll do great, I'm sure of it," Sora assured her crush.
"Thanks. Say how's the flower shop and tennis club been?" Tai asked.
"Everything's busy as usual in the flower shop and I've really got the hang of flower arrangement over the years. As for tennis, I've been made team captain of the girl's team," Sora said as she pumps her fist in excitement. "Just wait, those girls have no idea what's in store for them."
"I have no doubt about that," Tai said. The two of them walk along the hallway.
"How's Kari doing?" Sora asked.
"She's been doing great, made some new friends in school," Tai said.
"That's good to hear," Sora said.
"Tai, Sora!" A familiar voice called out.
They both stop to see Tai's second-in-command and bearer of the Crest of Friendship, Matt Ishida smiling and walking up to them and with a new hairstyle.
"Matt!" Sora said.
"Hey man!" Tai greeted.
"What's up?" Matt asked.
"Eh…same old, same old. We're starting a new soccer season," Tai said.
"Got band practice tonight; we've got a big concert coming up on Saturday," Matt said. He brings put two tickets. "You guys interested?" Matt offered.
"Yeah, I'm game," Tai said as he takes a ticket.
"Sure, why not?" Sora said as she takes one too.
"I heard TK was in town, is that true?" Tai asked.
"Yeah, he and my mom moved in a couple of days ago," Matt confirmed.
"That's great. Now the two of you can see each other more often," Sora said.
"Yeah, we have some catching up to do," Matt said.
"And I'm sure he'll be great company for Kari," Tai said with a grin.
"Yeah, those two have been best friends since our adventures in the Digital World," Matt said.
"It's more than that?" Sora asked. Sora smiles, knowing TK and Kari's relationship with each other and even Tai knows. Matt however…
"Why's that?" Matt asked.
Tai and Sora are comically taken aback that he doesn't know the both of them are in love. Sora's face drops and Tai softly face palms.
"Seriously, you're kidding right?" Sora asked. Now Matt is confused.
"What?" Matt asked.
"Dude, you're clueless," Tai said.
A few minutes later, classes begin and in the junior side of the school, a teacher addresses the students, most of which are bored, especially Davis.
"I'm Mr. Hamasaki, I'll be your teacher and I'd like you all to welcome a new student," Mr. Hamasaki announced.
The moment the new student comes in Davis gets surprised.
"Whoa!" Davis exclaimed.
The student is none other than TK with his hat off.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm TK," TK introduced himself as he bows.
"It's that kid," Davis said.
"Please take a seat next to the girl with a camera around her neck," Mr. Hamasaki said.
TK walks over and sits next to Kari who is extremely happy to see her crush and vice versa.
"Together again," TK said.
"Just like old times," Kari concured.
Davis gasps in surprise at how close they are.
"Who's is that kid? And how does he know Kari?" Davis thought.
TK and Kari talk quietly and energetically.
"Our teacher looks like…Ogremon!" TK whispered.
Kari can't help but laugh at the joke. Everything seems to be going well for the DigiDestined but…
Agumon, the Digimon of Courage, the leading Digimon and Tai Kamiya's partner Digimon was running through the forest to avoid the Digimon Emperor but ends up tripping in exhaustion. There's only so much a small Rookie Digimon could handle in one day. Agumon desperately cries out for his partner.
"Tai, help! TAAAAAAAI!" Tai shouted.
Back in the school, Tai has some lunch in the cafeteria and eats a lot. Another thing that hasn't changed about Tai is his appetite. Matt soon comes down with a tray of food and sits down.
"So, Tai, you nervous about the new soccer season?" Matt asked.
"No way. If I can lead a bunch of kids into battle against a giant mutant Digimon then I can certainly lead a bunch of teenage boys in soccer," Tai said.
Matt smiles at his friend.
"Can't argue with that," Tai said.
"Say Matt, remind me, what was the name of your band again?" Tai asked.
"The Teenage Wolves," Matt answered.
"Catchy," Tai said.
"Yeah. We're slowly getting more followers, hopefully the bands lateness and our creative differences don't break us up," Matt said.
Tai can't help but laugh at his best bud.
"Creative! You?!" Tai teased. Matt slugs him in the gut, causing Tai to cringe in pain. "Watch it! You'll make me hurl my combo! By the way, who else is coming other than me and Sora?"
"TK's coming, but Joe is studying for an exam and Izzy has dinner plans with his parents," Matt said.
"It's not easy to get the gang together these days, is it?" Tai asked.
"Yeah, It's hard to believe, it's been 4 years since we met Gabumon and the other Digimon," Matt pointed out.
"Yeah, I wonder how Agumon's doing. I haven't seen him since that stuff with Diaboramon," Tai said.
"Me too," Matt said. Matt gives Tai a teasing expression. "You know, you still haven't admitted your true feelings to Sora."
Tai gets a little annoyed.
"Lay off man! I plan on telling her this year," Tai said.
"That's what you said last year," Matt said. He spots someone coming. "She is really pretty, you know."
"Well, yeah. I've noticed that Sora's become more beautiful over the years, she's a remarkable woman, my best friend, she's…" Tai trailed on and sees Matt snickering at him tells him all he needs to know. "Standing right behind isn't she?" Sora is playfully standing behind Tai with a tray, having heard what he said. She bends down.
"Don't let that stop you, keep digging," Sora playfully said.
Tai is a little nervous but attempts to speak.
"Well…" Tai gasps when he hears a voice in his head.
"TAAAAAAI!" A familiar voice shouted. Matt and Sora become concerned.
"Tai, what's wrong?" Sora asked with concern.
"Agumon…" Tai said.
"What?" Matt asked.
A beeping noise catches the two DigiDestined's attention. They realize it's coming from Tai's pocket and he reaches inside. Tai pulls out the device causing the beeping, his Digivice.
"What the…!? My Digivice, it's activated!" Tai exclaimed.
"But…what does that mean?!" Sora asked. Tai looks at his friends with the most concern.
"I think it means Agumon is in trouble! Let's go!" Tai said.
Tai, Matt and Sora ditch their trays and sprint out of the cafeteria and down the hallway. Sora and Matt were just as worried as Tai. If Agumon's in trouble then that means Gabumon and Biyomon might be in trouble too so why didn't their Digivices activate as well.
Scenes shift to the computer lab where Tai furiously begins typing in and brings up the Digi-gate that Izzy has recently created to make travel to the Digital World possible but a problem is that it's a prototype so it's a bit risky. This causes Sora and Matt to worry.
"You sure this is a good idea, man?" Matt asked.
"Yeah, you remember what Izzy said about the Digital Gate! Who knows what could happen?" Sora asked.
Tai raises his Digivice and aims for the screen.
"I know but this isn't the time to worry about that! Agumon's in trouble so that means Gabumon and Biyomon must be in trouble too! You'd do the same thing if it was them!" Tai said.
Matt and Sora do not argue and instead their expressions fill with determination.
"You're right!" Sora agreed.
"In that case, let's go together!" Matt said.
Tai smiles at his two friends as they bring up their Digivices.
"Okay! Let's do this! Digi-port open!" Tai said, holding up his Digivice.
Here we go
Several tense moments, after saying the magic words the screen flashes and the Children of Courage, Friendship and Love get sucked in.
Tai, Matt and Sora fly through streams of random data in the Digi-port.

Biyomon, Tentomon and Patamon are screaming and flying for their lives from Snimon who has a black ring around his waist. The Digimon Analyzer activates.
"Hurry! Don't let Snimon catch us! This preying mantis Digimon can cut through anything with his Twin Sickles attack!" Tentomon said. The Digimon Analyzer deactivates.
"Twin Sickles!" Snimon roared as he releases pink blades of energy from his blades, knocking Biyomon and Tentomon out of the sky. Patamon has hidden in a tree; as much as he wants to he's unable to help his friends in his current condition.
"Oh no! Biyomon! Tentomon!" Patamon cried.
The exhausted Agumon continues running for his life across the forest as he tries to evade the Digimon Emperor and his slaves.
"Tai, where are you?!" Agumon thought.
Suddenly, when Agumon reaches a turning he bumps into a wild-haired figure. Both of them yelp in pain and land on their back. They immediately lift themselves up looking a little miffed.
"Hey! Watch where you're…!" Tai and Agumon both said before they paused.
They freeze in shock when they get a good look at each other. The wild-haired figure Agumon has just run into is none other than a boy in some sort of school uniform and wearing a pair of goggles. He's a bit taller but Agumon knows that there's only one person with goggles and messy brown hair.
"Tai!?" Agumon asked.
"Agumon!?" Tai asked.
After several moments, the both of them laugh and exclaim with delight and give each other a big hug.
"Tai! It's you! You're back! I'm so happy to see you again!" Agumon cried.
"Agumon! I can't believe it's really you!" Tai said.
They separate and get good look at each other.
"It sure is! But you got bigger, Tai!" Agumon said.
"Are you sure it's not because you shrunk?" Tai joked.
"Tai!" Matt called out.
They both look to see Matt and Sora coming their way. The both of them have been trying to catch up with Tai. They halt and take a chance to catch their breath.
"Seriously, Tai, do you really need to go rushing in like that!" Sora said.
Agumon exclaims with delight when he sees Matt and Sora and rushes towards them.
"Agumon!" Matt and Sora exclaimed.
Agumon jumps into Sora's arm and she hugs him back.
"It's so good to see you again!" Sora said.
"It's great to see you guys too! Have all of you gotten bigger?" Agumon asked.
"A lot changes in 4 years," Matt said.
"Hey! Agumon!" Patamon shouted.
They all look up to see Patamon flying their way.
"Hey that's Patamon!" Tai said.
"Patamon!" Matt exclaimed.
"Matt!" Patamon said.
Matt accepts the winged Digimon into his arms.
"It's great to see you again, little guy! How have you been?!" Matt asked.
"Other than being chased by a giant green mantis, I'm fine!" Patamon said.
"Patamon, you're okay!" Agumon said.
"I'm glad to see you haven't been captured, too, Agumon!" Patamon said.
Agumon jumps down and Tai runs over to him.
"Agumon, if we're in danger you've got to Digivolve!" Tai said. Tai aims his Digivice at his partner but all that it's doing is giving off a beeping sound. Agumon isn't Digivolving at all. "Huh?"
"It's not working?!" Sora gasped.
"That's why I need your help Tai; I can't Digivolve!" Agumon said.
"Did you forget how? It's just like riding a bicycle, now start pedalling and Digivolve!" Tai said.
Unknown to them, their conversation was being overheard…by the Digimon Emperor who's chuckling evilly.
"It's no use! As long as I have the Black Digivice and Control Spires there's no way they can Digivolve," the Digimon Emperor said. He cackles evilly holding while holding a dark Digivice that is a different model from the DigiDestined's Digivice.
Snimon spots the 5 of them and prompts Tai, Matt, Sora, Agumon and Patamon to flee for their lives. They stop when Gatomon appears.
"Gatomon!" Tai, Agumon, and Patamon all said.
She motions to her left.
"We'll catch up later, for now move your tail!" Gatomon said. She runs to the left and the gang follows her to a cave. Gatomon is hugged onto Agumon and Patamon, relieved to see them again and the both of the hug back. "I'm so happy you're all okay!"
"I should be saying that to you! I was worried sick, Gatomon!" Patamon said.
"We're happy to see you again, Gatomon!" Agumon said.
"Where are the others?" Gatomon asked.
"We got separated," Patamon answered.
"Gabumon and the others are tough, they'll be fine. Hopefully they haven't been captured," Agumon said.
Sora and Matt were gathered around Tai who has his D-terminal out.
"We're gonna need more help! I've gotta contact the others," Tai said.
"Try sending the email to Izzy; knowing him he's gotta be on a computer right now. Then he'll spread the word," Matt said.
"That's our Izzy," Sora said. She lightly chuckles.
In the computer lab, Yolei is on the computers performing maintenance. It's her turn this week and she must ensure the computers are running properly. Suddenly, she gets Tai's mail.
"Huh? 'Come to the Digital World right away. The Digimon need our help!' Must be a link to an online game, let's see who sent it," Yolei said as she checks. "Tai Kamiya, Hey! There's a girl in the 7th grade with the same last name, this email's probably hers."
TK and Kari are getting their shoes after finishing class.
"So TK, how does your mom like the new apartment?" Kari asked.
"She hasn't seen it yet; she's been on the computer for the whole time," TK said.
Davis walks by and notices the both of them with a smile on his face and waves.
"Hey!" Davis called out.
They both turn to Davis.
"Hi, Davis," Kari greeted.
"Hey, it's you!" TK recognized.
"That was my reaction when I saw you. TJ, right?" Davis asked.
TK and Kari sweat drop with nervous smiles.
"Actually, it's TK, Davis," Kari corrected him.
Davis attempts to dismiss this.
"Eh, TK, TJ, JB, whatever," Davis said. He holds out his hand. "My name's Davis. Davis Motamiya."
"It's nice to meet ya, Davis," TK said. He shakes his hands causing Kari to smile. Davis turns to Kari.
"You know this guy, Kari?" Davis asked.
"I sure do, we go way back," Kari said.
Davis gives TK a confused expression.
"But, how; I've known Kari for 3 years and I don't remember you," Davis said.
"That's because I've recently moved here. I haven't been able to come here that often, but when I did I always made sure I get to see Kari," TK said..
Now Davis is getting worried.
"Uh…are you two that close?" Davis asked.
"We sure are. Why do you ask?" TK asked. Suddenly it hits TK. "Oh, I get it, you're jealous of me!"
TK bursts out laughing and Kari can't help but giggle, causing Davis to get annoyed.
"I'm not jealous of anybody!" Davis yelled.
Yolei runs in with a printed version of the email.
"Hey!" Yolei called out.
"Oh, hi, Yolei!" TK greeted.
Yolei quickly walks over to Kari.
"You're Kari Kamiya, aren't you?" Yolei asked.
"Yeah, that's right, why do you ask?" Kari asked.
Yolei opens up the paper.
"Well, are you related to Tai; he sent this email," Yolei said. Kari reads the message and instantly realizes something's wrong.
"My brother needs us!" Kari exclaimed.
The four of them run down the hallway and along the way they run into none other than the computer genius and bearer of the Crest of Knowledge, Izzy Izumi wearing his uniform and walking up the stairs.
"Izzy!" Yolei said.
"Hey Yolei, I'm glad I found you; I need to use the computer room right away!" Izzy said.
Yolei clasps her hand in excitement.
"You mean the legendary former computer club president is actually looking for me, I'm honored!" Yolei cheered.
"What's up, Izzy?" TK asked.
Kari quickly shows the email.
"Tai sent us an urgent email!" Kari said.
"Yeah I know; I got one, too!" Izzy said.
Scenes shift to the computer lab where Izzy begins writing Tai back.
"I was just about to send Tai an answer when the battery ran out on my D-terminal. I knew I should've recharged it after I played Trigonometry Privy on the internet last night. Oh, boy, talk about fun. I got him!" Izzy said.
Izzy sends the email.
Tai, Mat and Sora read it.
On our way, Tai! Kari and TK are with me!
The three of them exclaim with delight.
"It's from Izzy; he's got Kari and TK with him!" Tai said.
"Alright!" Sora said.
"Good old Izzy!" Matt said.
"Guys! Come here, quick!" Agumon said.
Yolei is intrigued by the Digital World.
"What's the Digital World is that a new amusement park, I bet they have some great rides," Yolei said.
TK and Kari try to come up with something, not sure how to respond and Davis realizes he's heard "Digital World" somewhere before.
"I've heard about it from Tai once, he said there were a lot of Digimon there, whatever they are," Davis said. TK looked at Davis.
"You know Tai?"
"They play on the same soccer team," Kari said.
"Hey guys, I've got an idea, how 'bout we all go to the Digital World," Yolei suggested.
Luckily, they are saved by the untimely arrival of Cody.
"Yolei, weren't you coming over? Remember you were gonna fix my computer," Cody said.
"Oh…sorry I forgot!" Yolei said.
"If Tai's there, the gate to the Digital World's open!" Izzy said.
Back on Tai's side, the group of 6 are in front of a rock. Sitting on the rock is small red egg with orange and yellow flame designs a sharp silver blade sticking out on top.
"Look at that!" Agumon said.
"What is that thing?" Matt asked.
What catches their attention is the sun shaped symbol emblazed on the egg.
"That's weird; it's got the Crest of Courage on it," Tai pointed out.
"Maybe it's some sort of Digi-egg," Sora said.
"I never saw an egg with a spike in it," Agumon said.
"It must've been rough on the chicken to lay that thing," Gatomon said.
"Boy, I'll say," Sora said.
Tai walks over to it.
"Let's have a closer look at this thing," Tai said.
Tai grabs hold of the egg and tries to lift it up but the moment he does the egg glows with a bright orange light. Tai, Matt, Sora, Agumon, Patamon and Gatomon yell out in surprise and are taken back by the flashing pillar of light. 3 fireballs come out of the egg.
"Whoa! What are those?!" Matt exclaimed.
"They look like fireflies," Tai said as the fireballs blast out the hole in the ceiling. "Really, fast ones!"
Cody and Yolei walk along the hallway.
"You did promise," Cody reminded Yolei.
"I know," Yolei said.
Scenes shift back to the computer lab.
"We're going back to the Digital World! Prodigious!" Izzy said.
"I'm going with you!" Davis said. Izzy, TK and Kari have their Digivices out and they can't do anything to help Davis right now.
"That's impossible; not just anybody can go y'know; you need a Digivice," TK said.
"Listen TC, if you can go, so can I!" Davis argued. Suddenly, the screen flashes and 3 beams of light fly out of the screen. The blue light stops right in Davis' hand and the red and yellow fly out of the hallway into Yolei and Cody's hands. Davis shows what he just received and it's a Digivice but it's much different. This Digivice is mostly the shape of an oval with a bigger antenna. There are more buttons and blue highlights are on both sides. "What's this?"
"A Digivice!" TK said.
"It's a different model than the ones we have," Kari said.
Izzy looks to the gate.
"We'd better go now while the gate to the Digital World is still open," Izzy said.
"Yeah but how long will it stay open for?" TK asked.
"I don't care. I'm going to help my brother," Kari said.
"Hey, can I get Donkey Madness on this thing?" Davis asked.
"It's not a game; if the Digital World sends you a Digivice then there's a reason and you should take it seriously," Izzy said.
"I'm not waiting any longer!" Kari said as she aims her Digivice at the screen and it shines with a brilliant blast of light that sucks her in.
"I'm with you!" TK said as he aims his Digivice as well and gets sucked in too.
Davis has his mouth open in absolute shock.
"It's your turn, unless you're scared," Izzy said.
Davis shrugs it off and aims his Digivice too.
"There!" Davis shouted as he gets sucked into the computer as well and the flash of light can be seen in the hallway.
Izzy prepares to go with them until Yolei and Cody rush in after seeing the light.
"Whoa! What's going on in here?!" Yolei asked.
Izzy almost drops his Digivice in shock and hides it behind his back with funny and innocent expression.
"Nothing! Heh, heh!" Izzy chuckled nervously.
Yolei and Cody walk up to him in confusion.
Yolei: Izzy, what was that light!?
"Uh…the computer must need a new screen saver," Izzy said as he continues nervously laughing, hoping to fool them.
Here we go
As this happens, Kari, then TK and then Davis fly through the streams of data in the Digital Gate.
Soon they arrive in the forest and Davis is in awe.
"Whoa, my first time being downloaded, pretty cool. Do this is the Digital World, huh?" Davis asked. Davis takes a look around his new surroundings before exclaiming in surprise at the new clothes he's wearing. "Whoa! This place comes with a new wardrobe!"
Unbeknownst to them, the Digimon Emperor has spotted them and is watching over them.
"Looks like we have some visitors in my garden and they weren't even on the guest list," the Digimon Emperor said.
Kari looks at her Digivice and its showing 3 Digivice signals that are orange, blue and red.
"They're over this way," Kari said.
"This place doesn't seem so scary; the way Tai put it there are monsters everywhere," Davis said. He stops when he spots a vending machine. "Hey guys, check it out, there's a vending machine. I am a little thirsty." Davis walks over to get a little drink but hundreds of green slimy Digimon called Numemon swarm out. TK and Kari turn around when they hear screaming and they see Davis on the ground in horror. TK and Kari burst out laughing. "Ha ha, very funny." He gets up and continues following them. "So were those things Digimon?"
"Yep, there are tons of other ones, a lot cuter than those," Kari said.
"And a lot scarier ones, too," TK added.
"Do they all come out of vending machines?" Davis asked.
Tai's group walk out of the cave after spotting TK and Kari's yellow and pink Digivice signal along with an unknown light blue one.
"They're real close by," Tai said as he spots them on the horizon. "There!"
Patamon exclaims with delight. The boy is a lot taller but there's no mistaking that kind face.
"TK!" Patamon cried.
"Patamon!" TK said. Patamon flies into his partners arms and TK is ecstatic. "Boy, am I glad to see you!" Davis becomes alarmed and Davis laughs.
The older kids run over to them.
"Hey!" Matt said.
"Hi guys!" Tai greeted.
"We're really glad you all made it!" Sora said.
"Tai! Sora!" Kari said.
"Matt!" TK said.
"Hey, TK!" Matt greeted his younger brother.
"Tai! I told those guys you'd be alright!" Davis said.
Seeing Davis in the Digital World is a complete surprise to Tai and Sora.
"Davis!" Tai and Sora exclaimed.
Davis points at himself with his thumb.
"The one and only!" Davis said
"Davis! What're you doing here?!" Tai asked.
"Kari!" Gatomon cried as she jumps into Kari's arm and the both of them hug, causing Kari to laugh with joy.
"Gatomon!" Kari said. Kari gasps when she sees Gatomon isn't wearing her favourite accessory. "Your tail ring! Tell me what happened."
In the cave, Gatomon tells everyone what's been happening and how she lost her tail ring.
"Horn Blaster!" Unimon roared. Unimon blasts a ball of energy that engulfs Gatomon. She screams in pain and slams into a tree. Gatomon drops to the ground in pain from the attack. Gatomon opens her eyes to see Unimon preparing to stomp her out of existence. Despite her exhaustion and the damage she's taken, the small cat Digimon manages to roll away but Unimon stomps on her tail ring and is sticks to the grass. Gatomon notices her tail ring is stuck but her survival instincts kick in when Unimon attacks again. "Horn Blaster!" She goes on the prowl on all fours.
Scenes shift back to the cave where Gatomon talks about the Digimon Emperor.
"A few weeks ago, this bossy human appeared and began making Digimon into his slaves. He said 'I'm the Digimon Emperor!' I heard we're all gonna have to punch a time clock, too," Gatomon explained.
"Another human? You mean that someone else comes here besides us? There goes the neighborhood," TK said.
"Yeah, and he's got this strange new Dark Digivice that makes us unable to Digivolve," Gatomon said.
"A Digivice?!" Matt asked.
"Then that means he must be a DigiDestined like us!" Sora said.
Tai I guess so. TK turns to Davis.
"Show her yours," TK said.
"Huh?" Davis asked. Davis presents his Digivice. "Like this one." Gatomon points her paw at it.
"That's it! The Dark Digivice looked exactly like that. You work for the Digimon Emperor!" Gatomon accused. Davis is outraged by the accusation.
"What!? I don't work for anybody, besides mine's not dark; I just got this thing when it came out of the computer!" Davis said.
Tai turns in surprise and puts two and two together.
Tai thought, "So that's what came out of the egg when I picked it up, 3 new Digivices but why did Davis get one? What's his purpose in the Digital World and more importantly…who got the other 2 Digivices?"
The answer to Tai's question is at school right now. Izzy continues to play dumb and Yolei is getting increasingly vexed.
"Where did everyone disappear to, Izzy?!" Yolei asked.
I"I-I-I told you already Yolei, they went home!" Izzy said, trying his best to play dumb.
"I'm not letting you off the hook that easy; I know you're hiding something from me, Izzy, now what is the Digital World and what exactly are Digimon?!" Yolei asked.
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Izzy said.
Yolei presents her Digivice.
"Then what do you call this?" Yolei asked.
Izzy gasps in shock to see Yolei has a new Digivice like Davis.
"Where'd you get that?!" Izzy asked. Yolei turns to the exit.
"Cody has got one as well," Yolei said.
Cody speaks on the phone with his mother.
"No, Yolei's not coming over; we have to stay after school for computer club but since you made the brownies I'll come over and pick them up first," Cody said over the phone.
Back in the cave, the Digimon continue explaining what's been going on.
"The Dark Digivice is draining out power and making us all weak as newborn kittens," Gatomon said.
Everything makes sense now as to why Agumon couldn't Digivolve before.
"That's why you couldn't Digivolve!" Tai said.
Agumon crosses his arms in fury.
"Yeah, if I could Digivolve he wouldn't stand a chance!" Agumon said.
"What's worse, is now that I've lost my Tail Ring my powers been cut in half so I'm just about as useful as Rookie Digimon," Gatomon said. Gatomon turns to Agumon and Patamon. "No offense, you guys."
"None taken," Agumon and Patamon said.
A Dark ring which the Digimon Emperor is using to eavesdrop on the DigiDestined flies in undetected.
"The Digimon Emperor uses these powerful Dark Rings to control the Digimon," Gatomon said.
"Yeah and once the ring captures you you're a slave for life," Patamon said.
"Those collars do everything but get rid of fleas," Gatomon said.
Sora and Matt are furious.
"That's horrible! What kind of sicko would turn Digimon into his slaves?!" Sora asked.
"If he's supposed to be DigiDestined then why's he doing this?" Matt asked.
"We were chosen to protect the Digimon, not enslave them!" Kari said.
"Maybe it's some sort of mind control or he's been influenced by dark forces," Tai guessed.
Sora gasps and realizes she forgot to ask something. She turns to the Digimon.
"I forgot to ask! Where's Biyomon?!" Sora asked.
Matt joins in.
"And Gabumon, have they been captured?" Matt asked.
Agumon, Patamon and Gatomon sadly look down.
"We're sorry, guys, we don't know,"
"You mean, you haven't heard from them?" Sora asked.
"I was on a date with Biyomon when this happened and when the Digimon Emperor attacked we ran for our lives but ended up getting separated along the way. In fact, I haven't heard from Gabumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, Gomamon or Palmon since all of this happened," Agumon explained.
"Neither have I," Gatomon said.
"I haven't heard from Gabumon or the others either. I was with Biyomon and Tentomon earlier but we got attacked and ended up getting separated," Patamon said.
Sora is close to tears.
"Biyomon…" Sora sadly said.
"Gabumon…" Matt said.
"Sorry…" Agumon apologized.
Tai puts a hand on Sora's shoulder and she turns to him.
"Don't worry, our partners are tough, they'll be alright," Tai said.
Sora and Matt smile at the wild-haired leader. Kari is furious about this Digimon Emperor.
"Digimon Emperor! I'm gonna slap a Dark Ring on him!" Kari said.
Bad idea to say that because the Emperor just heard. The Digimon Emperor snickers.
"Oh, you think so do you, well this is just a game to me and I'm afraid that if you can't play by my rules then I'm just gonna have to disqualify you," the Digimon Emperor said. Buttons appeared before him. "Hm, who will destroy you? Eenie, meenie, minie, mon." He pushes a button. A Monochromon with one of his Dark Rings around its torso appeared on the screen. "Attack, Monochromon!"
In a dungeon, Digimon ensnared by Dark Rings are in their cells after being captured and enslaved by the Digimon Emperor. A cell containing a Monogram lights up and the floor goes up. Once Monochromon goes up to the surface, Monochromon roars
The DigiDestined are now standing in front of the Digi-egg with Crest of Courage on it.
"Looks like a deflated beach ball, no wonder it's got a spike through it," TK commented.
"Yeah, plus it's heavier than my mom's meatloaf," Tai said.
"I tried picking it up too, but no luck," Matt said
"I tried too, but it was way too heavy," Sora said.
TK walks over and attempts to lift it up with effort but it won't move.
"It won't budge!" TK said.
Kari comes over next.
"Move aside, this is a woman's job," Kari said.
Kari tries to lift it with effort too but fails.
"Too bad we don't have a woman here to help," TK said.
"I'm right here," Sora said.
Davis gets pumped up.
"Guys I pump iron all the time, let me do it!" Davis said. Davis runs over to the egg and bends down. He grabs on the egg and expects it to be hard to pick up but it required so little effort he picked it up and lands on his back, shocking Tai and the others. "What did I tell ya? Light as a feather, you guys need to work out a little more."
"There's a problem," Tai said.
Suddenly, an orange pillar of light bursts out from the hold that was beneath the egg. A black shape is formed inside the light. It's revealed to be a small blue dragon-like creature with a v-shaped mark in between his eyes. He's curled into a fetal position and opens his eyes. He exits the light in excitement.
"Yahoo! He hops around a gobsmacked Davis. Free at last! Free at last! You moved the Digi-egg!" The Digimon said. He stops. "My name's Veemon, but you can just call me Veemon."
"Hi, I'm Davis," Davis said.
Digimon Analyzer activates.
"I've heard of Veemon. Supposedly he's a fun loving, adventure seeking little Digimon that brings you good luck but I thought he was just a legend," Agumon said as the Digimon Analyzer deactivates.
"Nope, I'm real alright and I've been waiting a very long time to meet ya, Davis," Veemon said.
"Uh…I think you got the wrong guy," Davis said.
"Nope, you're the one alright because you're the only one who was able to move the Digi-egg of Courage," Veemon said.
"That's right, even though I had the Crest of Courage I couldn't move the Digi-egg but Davis could…" Tai thought.
Tai is taken out of his though when the entire cave begins to rumble and rock falls from the ceiling.
"What's that, an earthquake?" Davis asked.
Matt points up.
"No, it's worse! Look up there," Matt said.
The Monochromon the Digimon Emperor sent bashes through the ceiling and roars.
"It's a monster!" Davis exclaimed.
"No! That's a Digimon!" Kari said.
"Monochromon!" TK said. Monochromon goes through the big hole he made and slides down the wall. The Digimon Analyzer activates. "Monochromon! His shell is harder than diamonds! His attack, volcanic strike sends out millions of fireballs." The Digimon Analyzer deactivates.
"Boom Bubble!" Patamon shouted.
"Pepper Breath!" Agumon shouted.
Agumon and Patamon blast out their respective attacks but they barely faze Monochromon.
"Lightning Paw!" Gatomon shouted.
Gatomon leaps with her fist clenched and slams it against his face but as expected, she's pretty much useless without her tail ring. Monochromon isn't hurt at all and smacks the diminutive champion level Digimon with his tail. Gatomon screams in pain and slams against the wall.
"Gatomon!" Kari gasped. Kari runs over and picks her up. "Gatomon, are you okay?!"
Gatomon opens her eyes a bit.
"I'm sorry Kari but without my Tail Ring I'm useless," Gatomon said.
"What do we do? We don't stand a chance if the Digimon can't Digivolve," Sora said.
"Tai, this is the part where you come up with a brilliant idea," Matt said.
"That's Izzy's thing!" Tai said.
"Volcanic Strike!" Monochromon roared.
A ball of fire flares up within his mouth, prompting everyone to make a run for it.
"Come on, let's go!" TK exclaimed.
"Run!" Matt yelled.
"Davis!" Tai called out.
Davis yelps and follows after them right before Monochromon blasts out a powerful ball of fire. They all scream as they run along the cave.
"Davis, hurry up and open the Digi-egg!" Veemon said.
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Davis said. Davis and Veemon are far behind and Monochromon begins to catch up with them. They finally manage to exit the cave and stop by a small Cliffside. Davis turns and can't see Monochromon anymore. "That was close."
"Davis! Get down here!"
Streams of flames blast out from the cave so Veemon tackles Davis off the cliff in time. Kari on the other hand falls on the ground with Gatomon.
"Davis, tell me what hurts?!" Veemon asked.
"Everything but my ear lobes," Davis said.
"You control the Digi-egg of Courage, you've got to use your courage to open it up," Veemon said.
Tai runs over to Davis.
"Davis, get up! It's not safe!" Tai said.
Davis lifts himself up and his goggles have been badly damaged.
"I can Digivolve if you open the egg but you've got to have the courage to do it!" Veemon said.
"It's worth a try!" Tai said.
Everyone but Kari and Gatomon run over.
"Tai!" Agumon said.
"Tai we have to get out of here!" Sora said.
"Before Monochromon gets back!" TK added.
Gatomon looks at Kari on the ground holding her ankle in pain.
"Kari," Gatomon said with concern.
"I can't move my ankle!" Kari said.
"We're sitting ducks here!" Tai said.
"Oh no!" Matt yelped.
Monochromon leaps off the cliff and everyone watches in shock as he proceeds to rip Kari to pieces. She gasps in horror.
"Kari!" Sora exclaimed.
"Davis!" Veemon said.
"Have Courage!" Tai said.
"You can do it!" Matt said.
"Kari's in trouble!" Davis said. Monochromon gets closer and Davis clenches the egg. He gets up and takes of his broken goggles. "You want courage! I'll show you courage!"
"Davis! The magic words are Digi-Armor Energize!" Veemon instructed.
"DIGI-ARMOR ENERGIZE!" Davis shouted. He holds out the Digi-egg of Courage and it releases an orange glow.

Veemon fuses with the Digi-egg and is engulfed by rings of fire that take shape as images of Agumon and all of his Digivolutions appear. Out of the fire, claws extend from his fists and then a spike from his helmet.

Monochromon runs to Kari but the new fighter rams into his side and causes him to fall over. Flamedramon lands on the ground.
Veemon has Digivolved into a remarkable Digimon slightly taller than Tai. All parts of his body were flaming pieces of armour, the Crest of Courage is emblazoned on his back, his hand and feet were tipped with sharp claws and a sharp blade sticks out from his head.
The DigiDestined are in complete awe.
"Armor…Digivolve?" Tai asked.
"Incredible!" Matt said, awestruck.
"But how…?!" Sora asked.
"It was the DigiEgg!" TK said.
"Wow! What's that?!" Davis asked.
The Digimon Analyzer activates.
"I'm Flamedramon! As Veemon I use the Digi-egg of Courage to Armor Digivolve. My Fire Rocket attack will charbroil the enemy like a well done stake," Flamedramon said. The Digimon Analyzer deactivates.
The Digimon Emperor is quite impressed.
"Armor Digivolve, huh? Against the power of my Dark Digivolve they shouldn't be able to Digivolve at all. Hmm, they're more resourceful than I thought," The Digimon Emperor said.
Run Around
Monochromon charges in but Flamedramon gets into a battle stance. Monochromon rams into the Fire of Courage who merely holds him down and stops him in place. With incredible strength he lifts Monochromon up and flips him backwards. A loud crash can be heard throughout the forest and the smoke clears to reveal Monochromon is on the ground a bit weakened. He opens his eyes and roars.
Flamedramon gives a battle cry and goes on the offensive.
"Volcanic Strike!" Monochromon roared.
He blasts out 3 fireballs but Flamedramon ploughs through and cuts them to pieces as if they were paper due to being a fire attribute Digimon. Monochromon growls and charges in again. He lands a hit and sends Flamedramon flying in the air.
The others gasps but there was no need because Flamedramon recovers and prepares his special attack.
"FIRE ROCKET!" Flamedramon shouted. He engulfs himself in a fiery aura and blasts off like a rocket, intent on destroying the dark ring strapped around Monochromon.
"Barbecue that Dark Ring, Flamedramon!" Gatomon said.
Flamedramon makes a direct hit on the Dark Ring. He flips up and the Dark Ring is broken off. Flamedramon lands on the ground and is engulfed in a yellow glow.
An orange light is released and sent into Davis's Digivice. The light also goes into his pocket. Davis checks it and takes it out. It's a D-terminal.
"What's this?" Davis asked. He opens it up and the egg is now in his D-terminal.
Flamedramon has de-Digivolved to Veemon and Kari is gently rubbing Monochromon who's on the ground in exhaustion.
"That's a good Monochromon," Kari said.
...
Back in the lair of the Digimon Emperor, a Digimon that's the combination of a caterpillar and a worm called Wormmon comes forward. He's not a slave of the Digimon Emperor but he works for him.
"You summoned me, oh, evil emperor?" Wormmon asked.
"I believe that we've found ourselves a worthy foe at last," the Digimon Emperor said.
"Great! Just one question…what's a foe?" Worrmon asked.
Monochromon leaves the group after thanking them and Kari waves him goodbye.
"Goodbye, Monochromon, don't forget to write," Kari said.
"I can't believe the Digimon Emperor can turn such a nice Digimon into such a nasty creature," TK said.
"I know, it's horrible," Sora agreed.
"We've gotta find some way to stop him," Matt said.
Davis and Veemon shake hands, beginning their new partnership.
"Nice working with ya, Davis, let's do it again sometime," Veemon said.
Tai and Agumon walk over to them.
"Hey guys, that Armor Digivolving was pretty cool," Tai praised.
"Even though the rest of us can't Digivolve I know that you guys will be able to defeat the Digimon Emperor with no problem," Agumon said.
"Yeah, leave it to me," Veemon said.
Sora and Matt walk over to Tai with looks of concern.
"So Tai, what exactly can we do? With that Dark Digivice, our Digimon won't be able to Digivolve," Sora said.
"That's right, us older kids will be useless and plus we've got our own commitments outside the Digital World," Matt said.
"I hear ya, which is why we need a leader for the new DigiDestined," Tai said.
Matt and Sora smile at this idea.
"Hey, that's a great idea," Sora said.
Tai walks over to Davis.
"Davis I think you were really brave back there in that battle but I noticed that you broke your goggles," Tai said. Tai proceeds to take off his goggles while leaving on his blue headband. "And as we all know, the leader of the DigiDestined just wouldn't look right without them." The Child of Courage offers his goggles to the Inheritor of Courage. "So here, I want you to have mine."
Davis holds out his hands and Tai gives the goggles.
"Whoa," Davis said. Davis straps them on and Kari smiles at him.
"They look real cute," Kari said. Davis chuckles a bit. He turns to his mentor with a little worry.
"But, Tai are you sure you're fine with lending me your goggles? These have been with you since you were little," Davis said.
"It's alright. They were getting a little small for me anyway; I kept them on because I wore them on our adventures. I have every confidence that you'll make a great leader Davis. Besides…" Tai said as he takes out a pair of new goggles from his pocket, identical to his old ones but a bit bigger. "I've been meaning to try these new ones out." He straps on the new goggles onto his headband.
The older kids smile at the new development and walk over.
"I agree with Tai, Davis, you clearly showed you have courage in the face of danger," Matt said.
"Right. I'm sure you'll make a great leader," Sora said.
Davis bops his chest.
"Just leave it to me," Davis said.
"That's the spirit, Davis," Tai said.
They watch the sun set down much to the Digimon's relief.
"Good! The sun's going down, now we can relax!" Patamon said.
"Why's that?" TK asked.
"The Digimon Emperor never appears at night," Gatomon said.
Agumon turns to Tai.
"Excuse me, Tai, but it is getting late, don't you guys need to go home soon," Agumon said.
"We sure do but I'm not sure if we can get home," Tai said. Tai turns to Davis. "Be careful, never stay too long."
"But what about Gabumon?" Matt asked.
"And Biyomon; we still haven't found them," Sora said.
"Don't worry, guys, us Digimon will try and find them tonight," Agumon said.
"I'm sure Gabumon and the others are alright," Patamon said.
"You guys just head on home we'll be fine," Veemon said.
Matt nods in acceptance and Sora though reluctant also accepts.
"Okay…but be careful," Sora said.
Tai leads all of them through the forest back to the television and they hear Yolei speaking with Izzy who's filled them in on everything.
"Hey Izzy, Cody's back, can we go to the Digital World now?" Yolei asked.
Izzy The gate might close, it's not safe.
"But at least I got the brownies," Cody said.
Izzy, Yolei and Cody enjoy some brownies Cody brought to school.
"Mmm! This is the best thing I've ever tasted," Izzy said.
"Hey, what does it mean when the light on that thing goes on?" Yolei asked.
"What thing?" Izzy asked.
Yolei points to the computer screen.
"That thing on the computer, I just saw the light go on," Yolei said. She yelps when she sees Tai, Davis, Matt, Sora, TK and Kari on screen. Davis gets right in front of it.
"Hey, guys! Let me in, it's me Davis!" Davis said.
Here we go
The television blasts out light that sucks the 7 of them inside, leaving Agumon, Veemon, Patamon and Gatomon looking in surprise and shock.
"You don't see that every day!" Agumon said.
Tai, Matt, Sora, Davis, TK and Kari fly through the gate and blast out through the computer. They scream and get piled on Izzy, Yolei and Cody.
"Get off! You're crushing my brownies!" Izzy said.
The Digimon Emperor snickers in his lab. This is only the beginning.
While Tai, Davis and the others have returned in the real world, the Digimon Emperor was planning his next attack, can the DigiDestined stop him? A new adventure has just begun on Digimon, Digital Monsters!
