Hey everyone, MagmaKyuubi here.
I changed the title, since I realized how bad it is, just after publishing the story. Also, sorry for the late update, but I was upgrading my laptop's storage space and that took a few days. I was also fixing up the chapter, and as an apology I added around 4 to 5k extra words.
Author's Notes at the end of the chapter.
I don't own My Hero Academia or Ben 10. The alien descriptions are mainly from the Ben 10 Wiki.
Regular Speech – "RATH SMASH!"

Chapter 1: TIME TRAVEL AND ALIENS?
"All Might!" Izuku exclaimed loudly, not thinking about whether there were people around who might hear him or even cameras that were recording. He didn't think about how he might have just let loose the secret of the top hero being heavily injured. Thankfully, for everyone involved, there was nobody around to hear them or cameras around to record them.
"Midoriya-shonen!" The tall lanky man, who was apparently All Might, asked in response before coughing explosively, letting quite a bit of blood out. He was injured really badly in a fight with a villain five years ago, a fight which cost him his stomach and parts of his lungs.
There was a silence afterwards, as the two just stared at each other. Neither of them knew what to say, prior events making this interaction incredibly awkward. Izuku still remembered All Might's words on the rooftop, of how he should just be realistic. He didn't hate him, and he wasn't even angry at the blond man, but he didn't know what to say to him. He just shuffled his feet as the silence grew between them. All Might, however, was surprised to see Izuku transform back from the Lego gorilla he just saw.
'Did he lie to me? No, why would he. It doesn't make sense, what would be the point of that?' All Might wondered as his thoughts took a dark turn, 'Is He involved? No, that's not possible, I killed him. I crushed his skull into paste, there's no way he survived that. What other explanation is there?'
"Midoriya-shonen, what a surprise to see you here." All Might decided to break the ice and just tell Izuku what he wanted to tell him after the sludge villain incident. He figured he'll find out more about Izuku's sudden quirk afterwards, "I was actually hoping to eventually run into you. I wanted to speak with you after you rushed in to save that blonde kid. By the way, I heard him cursing and screaming when I went looking for you, he seemed rather unstable. I hope he didn't give you any trouble, if he's bothering you, I might be able to help."
"Umm, no he hasn't bothered me since then. I haven't actually seen him. Our school gave us a couple days off, so my mom decided I should stay at home and relax after what happened." Izuku replied to the question, stuttering a few times. His anxiety struck, the combination of the awkward air and the knowledge that the blonde hero was looking for him making his stress skyrocket.
"Good, good." All Might said rather lamely, but organized his thoughts and continued, "Regardless, I didn't want to track you down, since I thought that might be pretty creepy. I wanted to thank you and to set the record straight. If you hadn't been there, if I hadn't heard your story, then I would have gotten dangerously close to not living by own words! To being all talk. To being flashing fake muscles! Thank you!"
Izuku was so surprised by the apology and accompanying bow, that he only began to freak out after All Might stood back up.
"But it was my fault to begin with! If I didn't jump on your leg and interfere that villain would have never gotten free." Izuku began to say in a self-deprecating manner, but to his surprise a few other memories appeared in his head, "I mean, Hayashi-sensei did say I saved Kacchan's life, but what was I thinking. I mean, I rushed in there without a quirk, I just made things worse..."
"But that's just it! Of all the people at the scene, of all the heroes present, only you. Only cowardly, quirkless you made the difference! You're the one who encouraged me to act! You lit the flames of bravery within me and washed away my hesitation and fear! There's something that's said about top heroes when they were still students, most of their stories are linked by the following line," All Might cut off his self-deprecating ramble, his body growing in size and returning to its original form, he pointed his finger at Izuku and said, "My body moved on its own, before I could think!"
Izuku's heart began pounding when All Might began his speech, the words filling his heart with the hope he always needed. Despite getting a quirk of his own and finally having his mother say what he always wanted her to, Izuku still held doubt in his heart. The countless years of being mocked and his dreams discouraged, that had planted deeply rooted insecurities within him. However, All Might's words and those he was hoping to hear next, they were punching straight through those doubts and fears. His words were strengthening Izuku's resolve and pushing away his insecurities.
"And you did the same thing!" All Might paused for a moment as he stared at the young man who inspired him. Any doubts and dark thoughts that came up earlier were dispelled when he remembered this young man's heart. He continued his speech, "You can become a hero!"
"All Might..." Izuku muttered to himself as he began crying. All Might suddenly deflated and began coughing up a bit of blood, which caused Izuku to panic and ask him if he okay.
"Yeah, I'm fine. This is just something I have to live with." All Might reassured him as he wiped away the blood dripping from his mouth with a handkerchief. "I just wanted to tell you that and to apologize for what I said on that rooftop. Quirk or no quirk, you have the spirit of a hero. You reminded me of the most essential part of being a hero, and that's their heart."
"Thank you." Izuku said in a quiet voice as he wiped away the remaining tears.
"By the way, I just wanted to ask you something. Were you lying to me about not having a quirk? That's not very heroic." All Might asked with a teasing edge to his voice, something Izuku didn't notice.
"What? No, no. I didn't lie, I promise." Izuku stuttered out as he panicked for a bit but calmed down after seeing a small grin on the blonde hero's face. Taking a deep breath, he looked at his Omnitrix, his very own quirk, and answered in a calmer fashion, "My quirk ended up manifesting when I went to sleep that day. The doctor called it a stress manifestation and that I was a late bloomer. Apparently, my previous doctor was a quack, who only did some fake test."
'Stress manifestation? I haven't heard that term before, but then again, I'm not a doctor. From the sounds of it, his quirk showed up from the stress he was under. Getting attacked by that villain twice, my harsh and inconsiderate words on that rooftop and getting admonished by those heroes for doing their job, it must have been very difficult for him. I'll ask Chiyo, make sure that this stress manifestation thing is true. If it is, it'd explain why he has a quirk now, if not... I'll think about that afterwards.' All Might pondered as he made sure to keep the terms in mind. "So, Midoriya-shonen, what are you doing out here?"
"Oh, I was just doing some training. I'm just getting into better shape, since I shouldn't just rely on my quirk. It was actually Hayashi-sensei who designed a training regimen for me." Izuku explained and elaborated that Hayashi was the new quirk doctor he went to. "I went out jogging in the morning, and when I saw this dump, I figured I could train my quirk here. Nobody really comes here, so it seemed like the perfect spot. I ended up cleaning up a bit, since I felt bad about how this beach looks. Being turned into a dump is such a waste, and I can do some community service."
"Hmm, well your doctor isn't wrong. Being physically fit is essential in heroics, since there will always be moments where you can't just rely on your quirk. Good on you though, for putting in the effort to clean up the beach. When I was researching this town, I read about this beach a bit. Apparently, the ocean currents caused trash to show up here and people used that as an excuse to throw trash there." All Might praised Izuku for being a good person, even if he was sort of breaking the law by using his quirk clean up the beach.
"Umm, All Might, what're you doing out here? I mean, you don't have to answer that or anything, I sounded kind of rude. I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to sound like that..." Izuku rapidly began to apologize, after he realized how his question might sound a bit rude.
"HAHAHA! It's fine, Midoriya-shonen, you weren't rude or anything. I was just taking a walk, enjoying the sun and exploring the city. I ended up finding myself at this beach, and that's when I saw you cleaning it up."
"Oh. I got here by accident too, what a strange coincidence." Izuku mentioned, but something was bugging him. "Umm, All Might, did you tell me that I could become a hero, because I now have a quirk?"
"What? No." All Might exclaimed, a bit too loudly, which caused him to cough up some blood. "Sorry about that. No, Midoriya-shonen, I told you that you could become a hero because of your actions. If you remember, I mentioned that I went looking for you after the incident, but I couldn't find you. "
"Oh, thanks. It's just..." Izuku went silent, not really wanting to finish his thoughts "Never mind, forget I asked anything."
"Alright, so what does your quirk do exactly?" All Might asked, trying to break the silence that grew. They just didn't have much to talk about, so All Might figured that might be a safe topic to discuss.
"Oh, its actually really cool." Izuku replied excitedly, the topic of quirks always something he enjoyed discussing. "My quirk is this watch, and we ended up calling it Omnitrix. It basically lets me transform into ten different transformations, each with their own abilities."
Seeing the shocked look on All Might's face, Izuku further explained the situation behind it. How it needs to scan lifeforms and build up each transformation, the fact that he already has ten of them, is a miracle of itself.
"That is a pretty useful quirk, incredibly versatile from the sounds of it." All Might replied, "So, I already saw the Lego block gorilla, what are some of the others?"
"Oh, the one you saw, I'm calling him Bloxx." Izuku replied and seeing the look on All Might's face, he explained why he named his transformations, "It just feels right, plus it sounds cool. Shouting out my transformation's name after I become it, it looks really cool, like a hero shouting out his special attack. Some of my other transformations, well Frostmoth is really cool."
Izuku started giggling for a bit after he said that, to All Might's confusion. Izuku explained that he accidentally made a pun, and that it'll be obvious if he knew what Frostmoth's powers were.
"I'm guessing something to do with ice or frost? It's in the name."
"Yeah, he can freeze things. Oh, how about I show you how he looks." Izuku scrunched up his face a bit, "Is that the right phrasing. Show you how I look when transformed, does that sound better?"
Suddenly, Izuku's phone began ringing, and looking at it he saw that his mother had called him. Answering it, it turned out she just wanted to know if he'll be back soon, since she wants to start making breakfast. Izuku apologized to the blonde hero, and bid him farewell, jogging back home.
When he returned, he greeted his mother who was making something for them to eat. Telling her that he wants to take a shower, since he was drenched in sweat, she told him that he should hurry up before the food gets cold.
As they were having breakfast, she was asking him how his jog went, and he told her that he found a spot to train his quirk. Sighing at her son, she told him to be careful, to always make sure that he's alone and that he doesn't try anything massive that would attract attention. She knew that he was going to find someplace to experiment with his quirk, and she just wanted him to be careful.
After they finished eating, Izuku tidied up the table, and helped his mother with the dishes. THey then moved to teh living room, where Izuku knew an unavoidable discussion was going to take place. As much as he wanted to just forget and ignore what's happened to him, he was tired of lying to his mother and he knew he won't be able to hide anything.
"Izuku, we need to talk." Inko told her son as they sat down "I know this is a difficult topic for you , but we need to talk about it and I need you to be honest with me. Why didn't you ever tell me what was wrong? I asked you plenty of times, wondering if somebody is bothering you or bullying you, but you always just gave some excuse and closed me off. Why?"
"I guess," Izuku paused for a moment to think about why he never told her, "I guess I never wanted to worry you. I didn't want you to get upset and hurt over me. When that doctor told me I was quirkless, I would see you upset and crying, and I just didn't want to make things worse."
"Honey, I am always going to worry about you. That's part of being a mother, I'm always going to be scared that something's going to happen to you."
"Another reason is probably that I got used to it. Initially things weren't too bad, the worst things that happened was somebody calling me 'Deku'. It hurt, but I tried to not let it bother me." Izuku told her, his mood dropping as his voice got lower.
"Oh honey..." Inko replied, her eyes tearing up slightly, "I'm sorry for not being strong enough. I should have supported you from day one, regardless whether you had a quirk. The truth is, I was afraid of you getting injured really badly, or worse, if you became a hero. Around that time, I would constantly read in the news, stories about up-and-coming heroes, all dying or retiring from their injuries. It didn't matter if they had a strong or weak quirk, so when that doctor said you didn't have a quirk, all I could think about is reading about you in the news."
"Mom..."
"I know it's not enough of an apology, but I just want you to know that I never doubted that you could become a hero. I was just afraid of what would happen once you did. Maybe you could spend your entire career without getting hurt, but maybe on your first day something bad could happen. I was afraid of how difficult it would have been to become a hero without a quirk, but I should have still believed in you. I should have told you that you could become the best hero in the world, because you have the biggest heart out there. I should've been strong enough for you to tell me if something was bothering you, so we could do something about it."
"What do you mean? It's not like we could actually done anything." Izuku told her despondently.
"Actually, we could have done a number of things. We could have told the teachers or the bullies' parents. If that didn't work, we could have changed schools or even enrolled you into an online one."
"But the teachers never did anything..." Izuku muttered to himself, but his mother heard him.
"What do you mean, the teachers never did anything?"
"Umm, it's just that they never bothered to do anything about what they saw. It's not like they encouraged anything, but they never told the others to stop calling me Deku or when they saw Kacchan picking on someone, they never did anything. They never told him off or reprimanded him, they let him get away with anything."
"Katsuki? I know you two stopped being friends a while ago, and you mentioned something about him at the doctor's. Was he picking on you, hurting you, what was going on?"
"Mom..." Izuku didn't know how to explain their relationship, "He was the only person that really bullied me. Yeah, the others would call me Deku, but they wouldn't have done that if Kacchan didn't come up with it."
"It wasn't like he cornered me after school and beat me up or used me as target practice for his quirk. It's just, he would always put me down, whenever I said I wanted to be a hero or something like that. He would go on and on about becoming the number one, but he would then pick on and bully everyone else. Whenever I saw him do that, I would make sure to stop him, but then I would get hurt."
"He hurt you?" Inko asked with a gasp, her face showing how distressed and upset she had gotten.
"I mean, not really. The most he would do is push me around." Izuku told her, slightly downplaying what happened. "I never told the teachers, because, well they wouldn't have done anything. It didn't take long for me to realize that they were just kissing up to him."
"Well, why didn't you tell me? I would have definitely told Mitsuki, and you know she would have punished him severely."
"I guess it's because I didn't want to get him into trouble." Izuku finally answered her, "I didn't want to lose the only 'friend' I had. Being lonely was worse than being called names or being teased, and if I told you and he got punished, we never would be friends. But honestly, I can't live in this delusion anymore. I don't know why, but it's like I finally let go of Kacchan, the kid who wanted to be heroes with me."
"It didn't help that I also bought into his hype. I would keep thinking that he'll be an incredible hero, never choosing to think about his personality or actions. I would only think about how his quirk is perfect for heroics, and how determined and talented he is." Izuku ranted a bit, letting off steam, "When I came home after the sludge villain incident, I already knew how he would react. He would shout at me and yell that I didn't do anything, how he already had that villain beat and that I only interfered. I even know how he would react if I told him I got a quirk, he would shout how I was hiding it and that I'm looking down at him."
"I'm going to call the police." Inko told him after a few moments of silence.
"MOM! I might not like him, but I don't want to send him to prison!" Izuku exclaimed in surprise.
"Honey, he's not going to go to jail." Inko calmed down her son and chuckled a bit internally. That smile dimmed a bit when remembering what they were discussing. "I'm mainly calling them about the teachers. What they're doing, ignoring all the bullying, is a criminal offence. I should know, I am a lawyer."
Inko called the police precinct nearest to them, and after telling the officer on the line their issue. The officer told them that a detective will come by their place in a short while and gave them the detective's name so they could recognize him.
"Honey, I want you to know that Katsuki will get in trouble. This isn't something that I can ignore, and frankly he needs to be punished for his actions. The teachers might be the main people responsible, having in a way encouraged his behaviour, but Katsuki is no longer a child. He's at an age where he should recognize what he's doing is wrong, but from what you've told me, he hasn't stopped. He's a young man now, and that means his choices are his own." Inko told him, as she may be able to forgive Katsuki for the things he did as a child, since kids aren't really aware that they might be doing something wrong.
Inko knew that if the police even manage to build a case against the school, it will take time for anything to really happen, so she told Izuku that if things at school stay the same way, then she will pull him out and enrol him somewhere else. She also asked him if he was sure that he wanted to visit a therapist, since he agreed when his emotions were running hight.
"Yeah, I'm still sure." Izuku reassured her, recognizing that he needs some help in overcoming his anxiety and fear and to help him deal with all the conflicting emotions within him.
Inko smiled at her son and made another call, this time to the recommended therapist. She spoke with the receptionist and made an appointment for Izuku. While she did that, Izuku went to his room to write down some ideas he had on things he could do for the Yuei exam.
He already had a training plan for improving his body, but he did notice that he would have to sign up for a gym. He also knew that he didn't know the first thing about fighting, and he was worried that he might have to for the Yuei exam. He researched it before, and while not always prevalent, combat is a part of the exams. He could rely on training his quirk at the beach, but that didn't mean he would be good at fighting.
Surfing the web a bit, he saw an article about Gunhead, a hero who specializes in armed combat. The article was praising the hero's takedown of a villain, how fast and efficient it was, and how it was thanks to his excellent martial arts skills that he subdued the villain quickly. That got Izuku interested, and he researched the topic a bit. Apparently, while not all heroes learned martial arts, those that did had track records of fast and efficient villain takedowns. For some of them, it helped them use their quirks more efficiently and to fight better and for others it helped them finish fights without escalating the situation. Izuku's interest was piqued, and he noted down that signing up for a dojo could be useful. Especially if he could develop fighting styles for each of his transformations, since what works for one might not work for another.
He was knocked out of research mode, when he heard his mother knock on his door to ask him to come to the living room. Apparently, the detective is going to arrive soon, and as Izuku leaves his room he hears the doorbell ring, and his mother goes to answer it.
The person who rang was a clean-shaven man, wearing a tan overcoat and matching hat, underneath which he is wearing a black suit, a green tie at his neck with matching slacks, and dress shoes. The man introduced himself as detective Tsukauchi Naomasa, and he was here to discuss the call they made to the station.
Inko invited him in and asked her son to go bring the tea from the kitchen. Izuku did as his mother requested of him and brought the tea tray to the living room. Placing it on the coffee table and sat next to his mother.
"Ah, thank you." Naomasa replied as Inko handed him a cup of tea, "Now, I came here because you called the precinct and mentioned how the teachers at your son's school were turning a blind eye to the bullying happening there."
"Yes, I only learned about this a few days ago." Inko explained, "Izuku never told me. He didn't want to make me more worried, so he hid what was happening from me."
"Alright," Naomasa replied, making a few notes on his notepad. "Ah, before I forget, I just want to clarify something about my quirk. It's called Lie Detector, and it lets me know whether a person is lying or telling the truth. I just wanted to let you know, since its always active. Now, Midoriya-san, what exactly is happening at your school?"
Izuku explained the things that have happened there, ever since he was declared quirkless by that quack. He had to make a detour and explain to the detective how he was a late bloomer and how his quirk manifested due to stress. Naomasa noted everything down, and Izuku continued telling him about the things at school.
"I think I've got everything here." Naomasa told them, "But I can't promise you that anything will happen from this. Without any proof and evidence, it will be really difficult to convict them. I will follow this case through, but it will take time to find any evidence. Do you have any questions for me?"
"What should we do when Izuku goes back to school?" Inko asked him, worried about what would happen to her son. She already knew that things like this take time, so she wasn't surprised by the detective's response.
"Hmm," Naomasa did think about this issue, before he told them that the best solution is for Izuku to ignore them. He did give him his number, just in case one of them decides to get physical with him. "Also, what are you going to do about your previous doctor? I'm not sure whether I can help with that."
"Oh, I already am taking care of that." Inko reassured him, to the surprise of everyone else, "A friend of mine specializes in medical malpractice lawsuits, and I already gave her a call and she was happy to take the case."
After the detective left, bidding them farewell, Izuku helped his mother clean up the table. He wanted to ask her about signing up for a gym and dojo but was rather hesitant to do so.
"Hey, mom..." Izuku asked her, after steeling himself, "Do you think I can sign up for a dojo and gym. That'll really help in my training."
"Sure, honey. I don't see a problem with that, but we should probably find ones that are close. Why don't you go start looking for some, while I start on making lunch."
"Oh, what're you making?"
"Your favourite, katsudon."
His smile widening further at the mention of his favourite food, Izuku hurried to his room to research nearby gyms and dojos. Finding a few good gyms that were nearby was rather easy and he made a small list, while noting down things like price and distance from his school and house.
Looking for dojos proved to be a more difficult task, since most taught specific fighting styles suited to specific quirks. For example, there was a dojo that specialized in a tail based martial art, while another focused on a claw based one. There were also a large number of dojos that ran obvious scams, like turning someone into a hero in a few weeks. He made note of a few that taught more general martial arts, like Muay Thai, Karate and Judo, but what he was really interested in was a dojo called Wolf's Den.
Apparently, not only could they teach most forms of martial arts, including one created by a former top ten ranking hero, something that Izuku was definitely interested in. What really drew Izuku's eye was the dojo's master, who knew a great deal of martial arts and has helped a number of heroes develop theirs. The website mentions a special offer, mainly geared towards people with complicated quirks, for the dojo's master to help them find a fighting styles that works for them and their quirk. Considering his quirk let him transform into ten different forms, and each one was very different, he'll most certainly need the dojo master's help.
Izuku was really interested in this dojo, but he then saw that it was a bit more expensive than the other dojos. He was worried about the costs, and he began thinking of ways that he could help with that. Looking at his open notebook, he saw that the page was on Shardrock and an idea popped into his head. It might not be viable, but he figured he could at least bring it up with his mother.
Hearing his mother call him for lunch, he took his notebook with him to show his mother what he found out after they eat. After they finished eating and cleaning up, Izuku showed his mother the list of gyms and dojos he found.
"Umm, I'm actually really interested in the Wolf's Den dojo, because not only does it offer a number of different martial arts, but the dojo's master can also help me figure out what fighting style or styles I should learn that can work with my quirk. There's also this really cool martial art, one that a pro hero created, that is taught there."
"That sounds great, but you sound worried about something."
"Oh, I'm a bit worried that the dojo and gym might be expensive." Izuku admitted to his mother, not really wanting to cause problems for them, "I did think of something that might help make some money, but I wanted to ask you about it first."
"Honey, you do realize that your father and I make plenty of money, right?" Inko told him, "Signing you up for a dojo and gym won't really hurt us financially, so don't worry about it. But I am interested in this money-making scheme you thought of?"
"It's not a scheme," Izuku pouted a bit at his mother, "So, I thought of making use of my quirk to make some money. Like, Shardrock can make crystals, so I thought of maybe selling them or maybe making sculptures from crystal and then selling those. Maybe I can also use Scoville to make plants grow faster and maybe even grow out of season plants and sell those."
"Well, those aren't bad ideas, but I'm not sure how legal it is. Let me look into it first and see if you need to get a license or something before you can do that, and if there aren't any issues, do it for yourself. Any money you make, keep it for yourself. Spend it on hero merch, videogames or maybe even save it up to open your own agency in the future." Inko told him, making it clear that she won't take any money he earns from his quirk.
Seeing that this wasn't an argument he can win, Izuku just nodded in response, and they began looking into the gyms on the list. Eventually they chose one that was near his school and the dojo, the second of which was a bit far from their home, but his mother told him that she might be able to take pick him up depending on his schedule. Seeing that tomorrow was Sunday and the dojo would be close, they decided to register at both places on Monday, to hit two birds with one stone. They also made plans to go shopping for some exercise clothes, since he only had a few of the hero themed ones.
Izuku didn't want to go out jogging again, having already showered, so instead he decided to research heroes that have similar abilities to his transformations. He mainly wanted to get some inspiration for his own special moves and techniques, but he wasn't against copying and adapting some of theirs for his transformations. He also noted down some of their fighting styles, based on their quirks and builds, trying to see what might work for each transformation.
He lost track of time in his work, until his mother eventually called him when dinner was ready, and afterwards he resumed his research. It was time consuming work, but Izuku enjoyed it tremendously and eventually he noticed that it was getting pretty late. Wanting to wake up early, he turned off his computer and put on his pyjamas and went to sleep.
When his alarm began blaring, Izuku got up and got ready for the day. He was determined to push himself harder, in order to catch up to everyone else who have had their quirks for ten more years than him. Wearing another exercise outfit, hero themed as well, he then grabbed his backpack and left jogging for the beach. He left a note for his mother, not wanting her to worry. The jog wasn't much easier than yesterday, having to stop several times to catch his breath and rest his legs. He knew that it would take time and effort to get into better shape, and it was something he accepted.
Once he got to the beach, instead of directly training his quirk, he decided to start with some more physical training. It was standard things, like push-ups, sit-ups, squats and a few other basic exercises. He was quite tired afterwards, so he took a few minutes to relax and rest his muscles.
Afterwards, he looked around and not seeing anyone near the beach, he activated his watch and transformed. He did remember to take off his shirt and shoes, not wanting to risk them getting torn.
After a flash of green light engulfed him, a tall, muscular plant-like being stood in place of Izuku. This being was mostly light green, but his face is coloured yellow, red, and orange, his eyes lack pupils, and his chin is more prominent. His hands are now coloured black, with four yellow claws, each having spikes on the knuckles, and yellow holes in his palms, used to unleash his fire powers. He has six red horns with yellow spots, that aesthetically resemble flames; two on each forearm, and one on each shoulder, as well as a green horn on each foot, knee, and elbow. He now has a large collar raised up around his neck, which is yellow on the inside.
"Scoville!" Izuku exclaimed after transforming, something that felt very satisfying for him. It was the first time he's done it, but it just felt right to him. Later on, he would reason with himself that there will be times were shouting his transformation's name will be inadvisable.
This form possessed great strength as well as chlorokinesis and pyrokinesis. He can telepathically interface with plant life, manipulate their growth and easily grow plants from the ground. This form also has extremely powerful regeneration, allowing him to regrow lost limbs and heal from any injury. Scoville can produce large of flammable methane gas, that he can ignite in his palms similarly to a flamethrower. He can further manipulate those flames into fireballs and other shapes, and he can even breathe it out from his mouth/
To test out his physical strength, Izuku carried various appliances and large pieces of trash and throwing them into the dumpsters. He didn't have any trouble, and he was even able to move the truck that was dumped there. He didn't throw it into the dumpsters, because it wouldn't fit, and he realized he will have to dismantle it or cut it apart and then dump it.
Afterwards, he worked on his fire powers, over the water of course, in order to avoid any possibility of causing a fire. This form may be immune to fire and heat, but he wasn't going to stay transformed forever. He mainly tried shaping the fire into various things, like spears and waves, which were successful but more intricate manipulations failed. He wasn't sure why that was but figured maybe the more he practices the better he'll be. With the last few minutes, he tried working on his chlorokinesis, but he found it incredibly difficult, if not impossible, mainly because he was on a sandy beach. After his umpteenth failure of trying to grow something, the Omnitrix began beeping and flashing red, and then transforming him back to normal.
"Bravo! What an excellent show." Izuku heard from behind him, words that were accompanied by clapping.
"Ahh! Wait, I was just training my quirk. There's nobody here and I'm not bothering anyone, and this place is public property, and I didn't really destroy anything, in fact I'm cleaning up the place. So, please, don't call the police or the heroes." Izuku pleaded as he was surprised by someone seeing him sue his quirk in public. Turning around to beg the stranger not to report him, the stranger's appearance gave him some pause. It wasn't that he had some odd mutation, he was actually lacking in them, but his outfit was very strange.
The man had fair skin, grey eyes, and black hair, with some greying on the side. He had some wrinkles as well, showing his age. He wore a lab coat with brown and black pouches and a gold trim. Underneath it, he wore a black turtleneck with a white scarf, and a brown vest with gold buttons and pouches. He had a pair of goggles around his neck, a metal gauntlet on his right hand and a fingerless glove on his left. He was wearing black pants with brown kneepads, and a pair of brown boots with gold straps.
Shaking his head to shake off stray thoughts, Izuku noticed another thing that caught his eye, and it was the cane the stranger was holding. It was the same one he saw in the doctor's office, with its golden handle and eye like inset.
"Ah, not to worry, I shan't do either of those things. I see you've transformed into Swampfire, or was it Scoville. That takes me back – or is it forward? It's so hard to tell, Izuku. Have we met?"
"What?" Izuku asked in confusion, wondering whether this man is completely sane. It was a rude thought, and Izuku quickly became embarrassed at thinking that. It didn't help that deep within him, Izuku got the feeling that this man was maybe even more sane than anyone else. All these thoughts didn't stop him from continuing to rapidly ask the elderly gentleman his questions, like a machinegun firing, "What are you talking about? And how do you know my name? How do you know what my transformation is called? Also, Swampfire..., that's not a bad name. Why didn't I think of it, I mean Scoville is still cooler, but Swampfire explains this form better, I think. What do you mean is it forward? I don't think we've ever met, but I've seen that cane before. It's not something you can just buy anywhere, and you probably had it custom made, so it's unlikely that anyone else has one like it, so the cane I've seen before must be the one you're holding. But how did it just disappear just as I looked away? Is that your quirk? Can you teleport objects, because that's really interesting? Were you at Hayashi-sensei's clinic? Why? Sorry, ignore that last question, it's intrusive and rude."
"Gumball?" The elderly man offered him a paper bag in response, but it was cleat to Izuku that he heard and understood everything he asked perfectly. Not even his mother could keep up with him when he hit a category five mutter storm, so this elderly man doing so is an incredible feat.
"What?" Izuku asked in confusion at the odd response, but he remembered his mother's words at not taking candy from strangers, "Umm, no thanks."
"Ah, very well. Perhaps later, you do seem to like them, but I did have a reason for coming here. What was it again?" Despite seeming to be confused as to why he was there, it didn't take him a second before snapping his fingers in success. Reaching into his lab coat's pockets, Izuku startled and mentally psyched himself to running away or fighting. He was very surprised when the older man took out what looked like a pen. The elderly gentleman fiddled with it a bit, letting out an exclamation of success, "Aha!"
"Umm, what's that?" Izuku asked, "Also, you didn't answer any of my questions. I don't mean to be rude, but I sort of need to know the answers to some of them."
"This little device is quite the handy gadget; it has helped me on several occasions. It also holds the answers you seek, or at least most of them." The old man answered with a smile on his face. He pressed on the top of it, before Izuku could even say anything in response, and a light flashed from it. This light caused Izuku to hold his head in his hands, as memories began flowing through his head.
After a long and stressful day, a hot shower really helped Izuku relax. After he was done, all he wanted to do was go to sleep, since he was quite tired. Wearing his pyjamas, Izuku entered his room and let out a shout upon seeing someone already in it.
It was an elderly man in a lab coat, sitting on his chair and apparently waiting for him. As Izuku entered his room, the old man turned around and greeted the surprised young man.
"Ah, hello there Izuku. Or is that too forward, I tend to forget when I am. Sometimes even where. Regardless, it is nice to meet you again, or is it for the first time?"
"Umm, it's fine. I don't really mind it too much." Izuku stuttered out, very much afraid but also incredibly confused. A stranger was in his room, and he didn't know what he wanted. He continued, his stuttering seemingly getting worse, "This is the first time we've met; I think. Why are you in my room?"
"No need to be afraid, I don't intend to hurt you. Rather, we are here to offer you something quite extraordinary."
"We? Who else is here?" Izuku asked while looking around, his fear not at all diminished by the old man's reassurance. In fact, the old man somehow managed to make him even more nervous and anxious.
"I am over here Midoriya-san. Just because I am small, that does not make me invisible." Exclaimed a tiny creature that was standing on his desk. The creature resembled an anthropomorphic grey frog with gills sticky skin. He has bulbous green eyes with rectangular black pupils, with the skin around his eyes is coloured black and eyelids that open and close horizontally. Four thin tendrils grow out of his lower jaw, while two longer ones grow out of his upper jaw, giving him the appearance of having a beard. He possesses two additional tendrils on each side of his head, as well as two liver spots on the right side of his face and two more above his right eye.
Seeing this alien creature, because to his knowledge no quirk can cause that extensive of a mutation, Izuku's mind just shut down and he fainted. The old man just chuckled, while the creature sighed in exasperation. The old man used some sort of smelling salts in his coat to wake up Izuku, who then stared at them in shock.
"Since it seems you are in shock, we shall wait until you can process information in a normal manner." The small creature informed him after sighing, as they all sat in silence.
"What...What are you?" Izuku stuttered after several minutes, as he stared at the creature standing on his desk.
"Rather rude, but I'll answer regardless. I am Azmuth, creator of the Omnitrix, Sculptor of Worlds, smartest being in five galaxies and I am also known as the First Thinker. From that, you should be able to deduce that I am an alien, at least from the perspective of your species. To be more specific, I am a Galvan from Galvan Prime."
"I suppose I should introduce myself as well, or have I done that already?" The old man asked Izuku, before continuing without waiting for an answer, "Regardless, it wouldn't hurt to do so once more. I actually forgot what my original name was, but I was given one that I quite enjoy. You may call me Professor Paradox, or you may shorten it however way you like. I am a time traveller, but I do dabble in a few other things as well."
"TIME TRAVELLER!?" Izuku shouted in surprise, the fact that he was also meeting an alien, who was apparently the smartest being in 5 galaxies, not really registering in his mind, "BUT...BUT...But...but I've never heard of a quirk even remotely similar to time manipulation, let alone full-on time travel. Well, I suppose since you can travel through time, you could be from the future, so you would be born much later on. It is a possibility that quirks could continue to grow stronger and stronger, although that sort of disputes the quirk singularity theory, and that eventually someone who can travel through time is born. But wouldn't your presence in the past change things, like alter the future in extremely significant ways. Or is the Butterfly Effect theory wrong and nothing significant will happen or change from your visit. Or..."
"As fascinating as it is to discuss your theories, and they are truly interesting from our future discussions, I did come here with a specific purpose. And you do meet someone that can manipulate time, although I may have said too much regarding that topic. Now, Azmuth and I did come here with a specific purpose, so let us get to it."
"Future discussions? Wait, what do you mean? I meet someone with a time manipulation quirk, but aren't you someone like that? Unless you mean someone else and that they're alive in my time, in which case how is it possible? Why are you here, if what you said is all true? Also, YOU'RE AN ALIEN!" Izuku exclaimed as his thoughts were racing, barely being processed. At last, that small tidbit of information was finally registering in his mind.
"Finally acknowledged that factoid, have we? Yes, Azmuth here is an alien, but to be more specific he is an alien from another universe, or rather that is the closest term you would understand. I am from there as well, but I do occasionally visit other universes from time to time."
"DIFFERENT UNIVERSE! WHAT'S GOING ON!" Izuku shouted, as the growing migraine now felt as if his head was going to explode. All the information and surprises only adding on the massive amounts of stress he was under. Instead of his head exploding, he ended up fainting again, this time falling forwards on his face. Paradox chuckled again, seemingly quite familiar with Izuku's habits, and woke him once more with the smelling salts.
"Ugh, I just had the weirdest dream." Izuku muttered to himself as he kept his eyes closed and rolled onto his back, "There was this alien and time traveller, and they were apparently both from a different dimension or universe. To top it all off, they were both waiting in my room, for some reason."
"Did that dream any weirder than one of your top heroes being a walking and talking washing machine?" Paradox replied with a grin on his face,
This caused Izuku to immediately open his eyes, and he see Paradox hovering over him. Izuku just rubbed his eyes a few times, as if everything he's seeing was because his eyes were blurry. Sitting up as Paradox returned to his seat, Izuku just stared at the two figures he thought he dreamt up before groaning in pain. His headache returned, not as intense as earlier, but still rather painful.
"Here," Paradox offered Izuku a cup of water, "I put some aspirin inside it, which should help with your headache."
Izuku took the cup and drink it all in one go, forgetting all the lessons his mother drilled into him to not eat or drink things from strangers. He was happy he did that, since his headache quickly began fading, leaving him to wonder what type of aspirin was in that water.
"Feeling better?" Paradox asked, waiting for a reply.
Izuku just nodded his head, now fully awake and aware, but not really trusting himself to speak. Paradox helped him stand up, and then moved closer to Azmuth, so the small being could jump onto his shoulder.
"Well then, shall we go?" Paradox asked Izuku, as if they both knew where they were heading.
"Go? To where?" Izuku asked him, not really sure what the professor was talking about, before shouting out "Wait! Where's mom? She definitely heard me shouting and she would've come right here! Is she okay? What's wrong with her?"
"Ah, not to worry Izuku. I have stopped time in order for the three of us to have our conversation. Come now and see for yourself." Paradox answered him and motioned for him to follow.
Izuku pushed past him and ran to the living room and then the kitchen, while Paradox calmly followed behind. Izuku saw his mother doing the dishes but there was no noise of falling water and going closer he saw that the water was frozen in its place. He tried to call his mother, but she was also frozen in time and looking out the window he saw that the birds were frozen in mid-flight. Everything else was frozen in their place, with cars and people not moving or even making noise. It was only now that Izuku realized how quiet it was.
"Believe me now?" Paradox asked him with a small smile on his face, like he knew that a part of Izuku still didn't believe him, "Not to worry, I shall unfreeze everyone and everything later, letting time flow normally once more. No lasting damage will occur to anyone. Now come, we have a meeting with the man on the moon."
"Who's the man on the moon?" Izuku asked after he swallowed nervously while following the professor. He thought that the professor was ignoring him as he opened the apartment's front door, but instead of the building hallway there was a glowing and swirling blue portal. Paradox stepped through it without hesitation, but as Izuku stood in front of it and wondering if it was a good idea, he felt a hand push him through. Quickly turning around after he steadied himself, he saw that Paradox was exiting the blue portal. Confused, Izuku turned around once more and saw the majesty of outer space.
"But...but he went in before me..." Izuku muttered to himself, his mind not registering that they were in space.
"Ah here we are, and to answer your question, I am." Paradox exclaimed with a smile, as if there was some hidden joke, that only he knew about, "Granted, this may not be Earth's moon, but the point stands. As you can see, we're on one of Saturn's many moons."
"WE'RE ON THE MOON! HOW ARE WE NOT SUFFOCATING?" Izuku shouted out in panic, not hearing the professor's remark about this not being Earth's moons. Izuku was panicking and freaking out, waiting for the suffocation to begin.
"Good question, not remotely the point though." Paradox replied, his smile growing even wider. While Izuku calmed down once he realized that he was able to breathe regularly, he noticed that he could see Saturn, with its famous rings of ice and stone circling it. Izuku was transfixed by this beautiful sight, but he was broken out of his reverie by Paradox speaking, "I brought you here to witness the birth of a great hero, well not here exactly, you could say this is the start of the story. Ah, we're right on time, it's beginning. To answer your future question, the sound effects are my doing."
As he finished talking, Izuku saw two large ships, spaceships to be more exact, in a heated chase show up in his line of vision. The smaller one was very peculiarly shaped, slightly similar to a trident, being mostly horizontal, but with a ring surrounding the back of the ship, seemingly acting as the ship's thrusters. The ship was mainly navy blue, but several of its components were green.
The second ship was far larger in size, in fact calling it an immense ship would not be amiss, mainly brown in colour with orange egg-like constructs all around it. The ship had plenty of visible weaponry on it, but Izuku couldn't even begin to guess what they can do. Shape-wise, it resembles a taser, with two long extended pieces constantly generating orange electricity between them. Its back end features a propulsion system that resembles arm-like extensions holding a ball of red energy. It had a tall control tower on the top, with wings and antennae extending from it.
The firefight between them is intense and incredible heated, with the larger ship utilizing its incredible fire power to barrage the smaller ship. The smaller ship, faster and much more agile, was dodging the sea of lasers and missiles, and it even managed to get a good hit in with its lasers, carving two deep grooves into the larger ship's hull. However, it was clear that the smaller ship was fighting a losing battle. The hits it was taking were doing far more damage than it could return, and it became clear to Izuku that the smaller ship was trying to escape, as it flew out of sight, with the larger ship following it.
Paradox did something with the metal gauntlet on his arm, and a holographic screen popped up, showing the two ships' continuing firefight. The smaller ship was flying rapidly, dodging and escaping laser fire, but a lucky hit from the larger ship shattered its rear. This caused its thrusters to die out and for it to come to a complete stop. The moment this happened, the larger ship stopped shooting, for what reason Izuku didn't know, but the smaller ship took advantage of this by firing an extremely powerful laser blast at the larger ship's control tower. In response the larger ship retaliated with an extremely powerful blast from between its extended pieces, destroying the smaller ship to pieces. The video Paradox was playing zoomed in on the remaining intact fragment, the head of the smaller ship, and Izuku could see it fire some sort of pod, that then opened up to reveal a metallic pill-bug-like sphere. This sphere then hurtled down to a planet, that Izuku could clearly tell was Earth.
"Ah, now let's go to the second act of the show." Paradox said and suddenly they were in a forest. Izuku was so surprised by what happened that he let out a yelp of surprise as he fell on his butt. "Don't worry about making any noise, think of us as invisible viewers, so nothing we say or do will matter in any way, shape or form. Now, come on young Izuku, let us see the origin of one of the greatest heroes in the multiverse."
Paradox, Izuku and Azmuth, all watched as a young brown-haired kid walk with his hands in his pockets, grumbling to himself. Suddenly he looked to the sky, and following his lead, Izuku saw a bright red object with smoke trailing behind it fly across the sky. The kid seemed to perk up, but as the object suddenly changed trajectories and began heading towards him, he began running in away from it. Izuku wanted to go help, but Paradox kept a firm hand on him, and Izuku was relieved to see that the young kid was fine, if slightly ruffled from the object's crash. Suddenly, Izuku realized that the object must be what was ejected from the smaller ship, since what other object was falling towards earth at the time.
The brown-haired kid, wearing a white t-shirt with a vertical black stripe in the middle, went to investigate the crashed object, but the edge of the small crater crumbled under his feet causing him to tumble down towards the metallic sphere. Izuku saw the sphere open up, and a green glow come out of it, coming from what looked like a watch. The young kid, or Ben as Izuku was informed by Paradox, extended his hand towards the alien device, and suddenly it seemed to come to life, latching onto his wrist. Ben screamed and tried to shake it off and take it off, but to no avail. As he exited the crater and ran, calling for his grandfather, Paradox and company made sure to keep up, apparently not wanting to lose sight of the young child.
They found him trying to take off the watch with a stick but ultimately failing. Afterwards, he began messing with it and transformed into a being made out of rock and fire. Izuku watched in shock, as this small device somehow managed to give this kid superpowers. He felt quite a bit of envy, having always wished for a quirk, for some sort of superpower, so he can become a hero. While Izuku was stuck in his self-deprecatory thoughts, he missed Ben panicking and flailing around, shouting that he was on fire. Eventually Izuku began paying attention when Ben began throwing fire balls in the forest and eventually set off a wildfire. After his cousin and grandfather showed up, and they came up with the idea to start a back fire to kill this one, Paradox and company watched as the trio gathered around a campfire, and Ben eventually transforming back to normal. Izuku heard Ben tell his family how he figured out the watch, and how he can become these ten beings and how he can be a hero using their abilities.
Izuku continued to watch Ben's journey, watching him stop various criminals, both human and alien, save countless people from danger. He saw him take down an intergalactic warlord named Vilgax numerous times, a freak hybrid with the powers of all of Ben's aliens, one of his aliens becoming sentient and almost take over the entire world, and he even managed to save the entire universe from being destroyed once the Omnitrix entered a self-destruct sequence. He saw Ben give up the watch but put it back on to find and save his grandfather. He saw him fight and stop the Highbreed, not just from invading Earth, but the entire galaxy, and he did so not by fighting them, but by saving them from extinction. He saw Ben stop Aggregor, a madman who absorbed several aliens and became a hybrid of them, from gaining unlimited power. He helped stop his best friend, and former enemy, after he became a hybrid of his aliens and even helped turn him back to normal. He saw Ben fight and seal away an extra-dimensional entity, using nothing but a sword, even if it was an extremely powerful one. He faced down the enemy that caused him to give up the Omnitrix and caused him so much pain in the past, and he stopped an intergalactic fleet of humanoid frogs. He stopped his evil doppelganger, Albedo, time and time again, and he even dismantled an evil black-ops unit that was gunning for him. He even faced off against evil time travellers, such as Eon and Maltruant, saving the entire universe from the latter. Izuku saw Ben selflessly risk his life to help people and protect the world, regardless if it was his, time and time again. He saw him go through hell and back, never giving up and always fighting for what's right.
Izuku was amazed by this young hero, who had more good than even All Might. Suddenly, the trio find themselves back in Izuku's bedroom, and the green haired young man just sat down on his bed. He wasn't afraid or nervous anymore of the two visitors in his room, because he had gotten to know them through Ben's story.
"Why did you want to show me all those things?" Izuku asked them, having still not understood why they did that.
"Why, I would have thought you'd figured it out by now." Paradox exclaimed in wonder, "It's quite simple. I wished, or rather, we wished to offer you an Omnitrix of your own."
"WHAT!?" Izuku shouted after a few moments of processing the information.
"Yes, yes. You're quite surprised, one might even say flummoxed, but that's not at all surprising." Paradox commented but was cut off by Azmuth.
"Ignore his little jokes. He came to me with a request to make one for you, and naturally I refused." Azmuth took a few moments for Izuku to finish shouting in surprise again, "At first that was, but he then convinced me that you are worthy of my creation and that you'll do a great deal of good with it, just like Benjamin."
"But I'm not." Izuku replied in a low tone, the years of insults, the lack of support to his dreams, and even All Might's words, all making him highly self-depreciative. "I'm not hero material, I definitely can't save a single person, let alone the world or universe. Look at today, the only thing I did was make things worse. If you really want to give someone the Omnitrix, look for someone else. Someone who can actually help people and not just dream about being special."
"Hmm, so you say, but I know differently." Azmuth replied, "Do you want to know how Paradox convinced me?"
"Well, he simply showed me your past. How a young child, lacking any power, would constantly stand up for others, even in the face of someone stronger than him. You never gave up on your dreams, and always saw the best in others, even when you only saw the bad. Today you showed the heart of a hero, rushing in to save that blonde child. You didn't just save a random person, but someone who has been tormenting you for years." Azmuth told him, listing off the qualities that made him worthy, "But above all, what truly convinced me was the knowledge of how you would use the Omnitrix. Paradox showed me the future where you possessed it, and you never used it or even considered it a weapon. You always saw it as a tool for helping others, for bringing peace, the very purpose it was created for."
"But I'm sure there are others who would be better fits." Izuku muttered out, not wanting to even hope after the day he's had.
"Perhaps, but doubtful." Azmuth told him, "I thought that Benjamin was a terrible wielder for the watch, and that his grandfather was a much better fit. To my surprise, I was wrong. Me, the smartest being in five galaxies. Just because someone else might be smarter or stronger or maybe even more courageous, that doesn't simply make them better. The Omnitrix is right for you, the same way it is right for Benjamin. You both possess qualities that make you want to help others, even at cost to yourself. If you cannot believe in yourself, then simply believe in the time traveller and one of the smartest beings out there."
Izuku grew quiet afterwards, his head bowed down and looking at his hands. He didn't know how long he stayed like that, but eventually he seemed to have made his decision. Tears began flowing from his eyes, as his dreams finally seemed at hand.
"I'll accept it." Izuku told them, while wiping away the tears with his hands "I'll accept the Omnitrix and make you proud. I'll honour Ben, and make sure to become the best hero in the world."
This caused Paradox and Azmuth to smile in response. The former began looking through his pockets for something and seemed to find it. He brought out a small high tech looking case and handed it over to the miniscule genius. Azmuth opened it up and brought out a wristwatch like device, the Omnitrix looking like the one he gave to Ben after removing the Ultimatrix. He brought it over to Izuku and attached it to his wrist.
"I don't know how I can ever repay either of you." Izuku told them, while admiring the incredible device on his wrist.
"Simply be who you are, that will be payment enough." Paradox told him kindly.
"Now, there are some things you must know about this Omnitrix," Azmuth began telling him, "Naturally, you will start off with ten alien forms and initially each transformation will last only ten minutes. As you train with it, that time limit will increase, thanks to the AI I have included within the device to monitor your progress. Similarly, your cooldown between transformations will decrease from one minute as you train your abilities. You will unlock additional forms, but it will be at random."
Azmuth also mentioned that he hid a few surprises within the watch, a few special programs that had some interesting functions, but Izuku would have to unlock them himself. Afterwards, Azmuth returned to Paradox's shoulder, who seemed to be rummaging through his coat for something.
'He really should be more organized.' Izuku thought as he sweat dropped at the sight. He saw Paradox finally find what he was looking for and brought out a small pen like object.
"Now that you have the Omnitrix, there is still one small thing we ought to do." Paradox said, "and it's to bid you farewell."
"Oh, goodbye Azmuth, and goodbye Professor Paradox. Till next time, or maybe till before?" Izuku joked with the time travelling professor, even getting him to let out a laugh. "By the way, may I have another gumball?"
"Certainly" Paradox replied, offering Izuku the paper bag, and after he took one, he brought up the pen to Izuku's line of sight and pressed on the top of it. Afterwards, all Izuku remembered was waking up from his sleep the morning afterwards.
"Ugh!" Izuku groaned out as he held his head, a massive headache forming from all the memories rushing through his head. After a few minutes, Izuku felt the headache disappear, all the while Paradox was waiting patiently for him.
"What was that thing? And why did you use it on me?" Izuku asked after he was finally able to gather his thoughts.
"Ah, this little doodad. Well, it's a quaint little invention of mine, and it allows me to lock and unlock the memories of others. It has helped me in quite a few situations, such as this one." Paradox explained while showing Izuku the device.
"That's great and all, but you didn't answer the second part." Izuku replied, slightly upset at the professor for locking away his memories, especially without asking him first.
"Well, the reason is quite obvious when you think about what's happened since you got the Omnitrix. Not knowing its true origins was something of crucial importance, at least in the beginning." Paradox replied in his usual obscure riddle-like answers.
"So, you're just going to leave me to figure out the reason why myself."
"Exactly, my dear boy." Paradox smiled after saying that, and it was clear he enjoyed the air of mystery surrounding him.
"Can you at least tell me if you were at the doctor's clinic. It's really bugging me, since I could have sworn that I saw your cane there."
"Yes, yes. I was there, but Azmuth distracted me with something, and I ended up forgetting my cane there. Eventually, relatively speaking I returned to grab it." Paradox casually mentioned, as if he walked in there normally and didn't use some of his time powers.
"What were you doing there?"
"Nothing in particular." Paradox replied, and with a small smile continued saying "Just some time travel work, you know, the usual business one has at a doctor's clinic."
Izuku just sighed at the response, having gotten a read on the time traveller's personality from watching Ben's interactions with him. Ultimately, he figured it really didn't matter what they were doing, probably something to get the Omnitrix recognized as a quirk, but he would ponder that later on.
"So, what are you doing here? We just saw each other a few days ago."
"Only a few days, my it's been years on my end. Well, I'm guessing it's been several years, I tend to lose track of time. Even when I'm travelling through it." Paradox exclaimed in surprise, "What am I doing here? I simply came here to check up on you and unlock your memories. What else would I be doing?"
"That makes sense, I guess," Izuku answered while sweat dropping at the Professor's habit of getting times mixed up, "I mean, unlocking my memories is going to be really helpful. I know a lot more about what my aliens can do, including some things I didn't think they could do. Like how Scoville can create seeds and fire whips, how Shardrock can telekinetically move the crystals he creates and Bloxx's ability to fire explosive Lego blocks."
"Wonderful. Now, I must be off. Time to keep track off and disasters to stop." Paradox bid Izuku farewell and began walking away, but he paused for a moment to mention something to the green haired young man, "Ah, before I forget, at some point you will be receiving a present from Azmuth. You will recognize it when you see it, just thought I'd warn you first."
After he finished saying that the time traveller disappeared in a flash of light. Shaking his head at the professor's behaviour, Izuku then continued training his alien transformations. He was slightly worried about whether the massive lie surrounding his powers will come crashing down on him somehow, but he decided to deal with it if it ever happens.
Izuku continued training for a while, working on improving his alien's abilities and cleaning the beach at the same time. Eventually he started getting hungry, which made him decide that he was done for the day, and he began jogging back home. Taking a shower and reheating the breakfast his mother made him, Izuku spent the rest of the day writing down what he remembered of Ben's aliens and their abilities. He knew, from Azmuth, that he will eventually unlock new aliens, so he wanted to record the information while it was still fresh in his head.
While they were having dinner, Inko informed her son that she'll meet him at the gym, so that he could sign up there and then they'll go to dojo together. After helping his mother clean up, Izuku went back to his room and finished any schoolwork he had left, having forgotten all about it in the last few days. He also reviewed the material, just in case there was a pop quiz.
School the next day was very different than usual to Izuku's surprise. Nobody really bothered him, other than a few staring at him, and Izuku wasn't too sure why. Bakugo didn't even talk to him, in fact he was quiet and reserved, only snapping at people who bothered him. The social dynamic of the school changed, and it didn't take Izuku long to figure out that the cause of that was the sludge villain incident. Izuku had already decided to leave Kacchan, no Bakugo, alone, having accepted that they won't be friends any time soon, if ever. Instead, Izuku decided to focus on his future, to work hard to get into Yuei and become a hero.
After school was done for the day, Izuku made his way to the gym they chose, consulting his phone for directions. Eventually he arrived and messaged his mom, who told him that she was a few minutes away and that he should just wait for her.
A little while, later he saw his mom heading towards him, and they entered the gym together. They saw the reception desk and noticed that it was empty, so they decided to wait for someone to show up. It didn't take long before a young woman came up to them. She had purple eyes and long orange hair tied in a high ponytail with a scrunchie, but that wasn't what caused to turn bright red when he saw her. The reason for that is that most of her curvy, yet athletic and muscular body was on display, thanks to her wearing a sports bra and tight shorts. She giggled slightly when she saw Izuku's reaction, but otherwise greeted them enthusiastically.
"Hi there, my name is Mizuki. How can I help you?" She asked them with a smile on her face.
"Well, my son and I want to sign up," Inko told her, stopping herself from giggling at her son's bright red face. Speaking of whom, he was quite surprised to hear that his mother also wanted to sign up, but he figured he can ask her about that later. "Izuku already has a training plan he can follow, but I'd prefer if both of us started with a personal trainer in the beginning. Is that a thing you do here? Because I heard from a friend of mine that her gym offers things like that."
"Certainly, there are a few personal trainers here that can help you out. Here fill out these forms, and then we can get you two your cards." Mizuki said as she took out a few papers from the desk and handed them to the pair, "Also, just to make things clear, you can't use your quirks in the gym. We don't offer that type of training here."
Seeing the confused look on their faces, she explained that on their website they mention having specialist equipment, but a lot of people just assume it meant equipment for training speed or strength quirks. There had been several instances where someone wrecked or ruined some of their machines, and now they inform everyone who signs up about the rules. She further explained that the specialist equipment were machines made for people with tails, wings and a few other of the more common heteromorphic mutations. The duo filled out the paperwork and handed it back to Mizuki, although Izuku was slightly disappointed that he can't train his alien forms.
"Alright, so do you want to start now," Mizuki began asking them before noticing their clothes. Izuku was in his school uniform and Inko was wearing a skirt, shirt and jacket, having driven here from work. Mizuki finished her question slightly awkwardly, "or later?"
"We'll start coming here in a few days, Izuku needs to see what the schedule will be for the dojo he's signing up for. I'll start coming here in the next few days though." Inko answered her as she finished paying for the first month's membership.
"Oh, alright then." Mizuki replied, her cheer coming back in full force, and asked Izuku "So, what dojo are you going to sign up for?"
"Oh, I want to sign up for the Wolf's Den dojo." Izuku managed to reply, although with a great deal of stuttering.
"Wolf's Den dojo? So, are you planning on becoming a hero then?" Mizuki asked him, explaining that most who sign up there are generally interested in becoming heroes. "The teacher there is incredibly skilled, and I heard that he helped a bunch of heroes develop their fighting styles."
"Yeah, I want to be a hero. I figured that learning how to fight, especially with my quirk would be incredibly useful." Izuku stuttered out, his blush dying down a bit. He was still unused to talking about his abilities, even more so lying and calling them a quirk, but he recognized that people wouldn't accept anything else.
"Amazing! I'll be cheering you on!" Mizuki answered with a smile and a thumbs up, while bouncing slightly on her feet. The sight cause Izuku's blush to strengthen tenfold, one could almost see steam exiting his ears. Mizuki just laughed at the sight and gave them their membership cards. She then bid them farewell as she returned to what she was doing earlier, and to Izuku's shame his eyes remained glued to her as she left.
"Come on, lover boy." Inko told her son teasingly, laughing into her hand as he was caught staring at Mizuki's ass. That made him turn even redder, if that was even possible, but he followed her regardless as they got to her car. The dojo wasn't too far from the gym, but since Inko came here by car, they decided to take it. Once they reached the Wolf's Den dojo, they were surprised by how large it is.
After parking and entering, they found the reception desk and Inko told the receptionist that they have an appointment with the dojo's master. They waited a few moments while the receptionist confirmed their meeting, and then were directed through the main doors to their meeting. They found themselves in a large gymnasium like room, with padded mats and quite a few students practicing katas on one side of the room. They were being instructed by a couple of teenagers, slightly older than Izuku, and after asking one of them, they were told that the master is on the other side of the room.
Going to the opposite side, they soon saw two individuals talking, one young and the second much older. The young man had silver hair that spikes up into two large prongs, giving the appearance of a young wolf, and was wearing a tight, black, long-sleeved shirt, loose-fitting white martial arts pants, a yellow sash around his waist, and Tai Chi slippers on his feet. The duo could see his highly toned physique, which was highlighted by his tight shirt.
The older man had a slight hunch in his back, and he had tan skin and spiky white hair. As he turned to see who was approaching them, Izuku instantly recognized him, with his thick white moustache and eyebrows. He was wearing a long-sleeved black martial arts jumpsuit, light-coloured pants, and Tai Chi slippers.
"That's Silverfang, that's Silverfang, ..." Izuku started muttering below his breath in excitement, his mother just chuckling at his enthusiasm.
Silverfang was the third ranking pro hero, from a time before All Might even debuted. He was well known for his immense skill in martial arts, and especially the one he created. Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist was its name, and Bang, his real name, developed it to use his quirk more effectively. His quirk which was called Flow, allowed him to redirect energy, mainly the kinetic kind. The quirk wasn't really something most people would think is hero material, and others would find it to be too complicated to work with. Silverfang however, developed his fighting style, allowing him to redirect the energy behind attacks back at their user, with his own strength added to it.
"I'm sorry for the interruption." Inko apologized for having stopped their discussion by their arrival, bowing her head slightly. After being told that it wasn't a problem and that they were already done talking, she turned towards the younger man and said that they have a meeting with him. Thankfully, the duo already knew from the website that the younger man, called Garou, was the dojo's master.
This didn't stop Izuku from taking out his notebook and asking Silverfang if he could have his autograph. This didn't seem to annoy the elderly hero; in fact, he just chuckled and signed it with a flourish. He then bid Garou farewell and left, with Izuku being left starstruck.
"So, we had a meeting?" Garou asked Inko.
"Yes, I called and made an appointment the day before yesterday, and we were told to come by around this time today. I called about enrolling Izuku here, although we wanted to ask about the special offer you provide."
"Special offer?" Garou asked, a bit lost at, before remembering what they were talking about, "Oh, right. The one about helping students find a suitable fighting style, but why bother with that. I mean that offer is mainly for kids with extensive heteromorphic mutations, who actually need to have a fighting style altered to fit them."
"Oh, it wasn't too clear on the website regarding that. Still, maybe you could still help Izuku, his quirk is a bit complicated, and I don't think a regular fighting style would work for it."
"Really? So, kid, what's your quirk?" Garou asked Izuku, his interest piqued.
"Right, my quirk, well it basically lets me transform into several different aliens." As Izuku said that he froze for a moment, and both his mother and Garou stared at him.
"Aliens?" Garou asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, that's just what I decided to call my transformations. Constantly calling them forms or transformations is a bit of a mouthful, so I decided to use something shorter. I figured alien was less scary than monster, and several of my transformations do look like aliens." Izuku replied, and he was really glad that he was able to say that with a mostly straight face.
"Right now, I can only transform for ten minutes before a one-minute cooldown, but I think both will improve the more I train. I might also unlock additional aliens, and I currently have ten." Izuku continued explaining after taking deep breath to refocus. He then rummaged through his backpack and took out a notebook, "Here, I wrote down what I know about my transformations, like their abilities and weaknesses. I also sketched them, and I even tried looking up what martial arts might suit each one. I found heroes with similar builds or quirks and noted how they fought."
"Hmm," Garou hummed as he took the notebook and began flipping through it. "Not bad, you're pretty good at drawing. And I see why you were asking about the special offer, with your different transformations all having different body types, with different physical attributes, you'll definitely need some help figuring out which fighting style or even styles to learn. I do have a question, and its why start learning martial arts now? Why not start earlier?"
"Oh, well, it's a bit complicated. My quirk only showed up recently, due to something called stress manifestation. I'm apparently a late bloomer." Izuku explained, and then mentioned, "I don't know if you know the term, but basically my quirk came in later in life."
"I know what it means, I am one after all. Although, mine is a different case. My quirk was just really subtle, and I never figured it out till I was a bit older than you."
"Woah." Izuku exclaimed softly, having never thought he'd meet someone in a similar situation to him so soon, well if you consider the Omnitrix a quirk that is. "Umm, Garou-sensei, what is your quirk? I'm sorry if I sounded rude."
"It's fine, I don't mind telling you about it. It's called Technique Mimicry, but it does more than what the name implies. I found out about it soon after I enrolled at Bang's dojo, when I quickly became capable of performing all the moves perfectly. It helps me in more ways than just mimicking other people's actions, like allowing me to easily read my opponents' actions, even knowing what they will do before they do it or adapt to their fighting style and counter them. It has a lot of uses, but they're mostly subtle effects."
"That's a really cool quirk! Umm, forgive me for asking this, but why didn't you become a hero?"
"Oh, it's pretty simple. I don't really care that much about the entire profession. I mean, don't get me wrong, I could easily rank in the top twenty at the minimum if I wanted to. Being a hero was never something I was interested in."
"Oh," Izuku muttered to himself. He couldn't imagine any other career path for himself, but he did recognize that not everyone wanted to be a hero.
"Alright, I'll help you figure out a fighting style that suits you, I actually think I know one that might work. It's called Jeet Kune Do."
"Jeet Kune Do? I haven't heard about it before, but I think I saw it mentioned on your website."
"Jeet Kune Do was a fighting style developed by one of the best martial artists in history, Bruce Lee, way before quirks showed up. It was developed for actual combat, mainly self-defence, and it revolved around taking parts of other martial arts and adapting them into your own fighting style. In your case, it'll be perfect, with every transformation you can change your stance, so to speak. With how many quirk based martial arts are out there, it will be easy to find several that suit your different forms."
"That sounds good, so do you want to keep the notebook or take pictures of the pages?" Izuku asked him, wondering if he'll need it to make his schedule or something.
"Hmm, no need. We won't go into teaching you how to fight in your alien forms, at least not initially." Garou smirked a bit when he said that, "First, we'll be focusing on teaching you how to fight without your quirk. You can go and fill out the paperwork at the receptionist's desk, and after I set up your schedule, I'll call you about it."
Bidding the teacher farewell, they did as ask and filled in the form for Izuku. They were also directed to a store that sold exercise clothes, including the dojo's uniform. They then went so buy Izuku some sportswear, several sets and all hero themed, and Inko also picked up a few sets as well. Izuku realized that his schedule will start getting extremely busy, and that he might have to train at the beach only on the weekends.
That's how he spent the next ten months, training for the Yuei exam, pushing his body and powers to their limits. Initially he tried to overtrain, wanting to catch up, but that backfired spectacularly on him, when he collapsed mid-training one day. Garou lectured him heavily, forcing him to rest for two weeks and had him learn what happens when a person overtrains. Suffice to say, Izuku promised to stick to his schedule and not overstrain himself, since he didn't want his body to consume his muscles and clog up his kidneys.
Aside from that small hurdle, his training went better than expected, quickly taking to the martial art taught to him. He wasn't a black belt or anything, but Izuku could now fight reasonably well and protect himself, even without his quirk. Jeet Kune Do proved to work really well with his transformations, adapting various martial arts like wrestling, jiu-jitsu, boxing and several others for his transformations. He even learned how to fight with a sword, mainly for Shardrock, but it was a useful skill, nonetheless.
Thanks to his alien forms, he managed to clear the beach within eight months of beginning his training. He was really happy he took on that endeavour when he saw teh happy families that began going there, and the shops that were close to shutting down coming back to life.
Soon the day came, when Izuku was getting ready to head towards Yuei for the Entrance Exams. He was nervous, but he had plenty of people cheering him on, people who helped him through his training. He had trained hard for this day, and he knew that he's ready.
"Izuku, your father and I will be cheering you on. Do your best, and I know that you'll ace the exam." Inko told her son after hugging him tightly as he was leaving. She had lost considerable weight from training in the gym, and she became considerably happier and more outgoing as time passed on. Hisashi, Izuku's father, was working in America, so he wasn't able to be there, but he called regularly and wished Izuku good luck the night before.
"Thanks Mom,' Izuku told her, "I couldn't have done it without you."
Waving goodbye, Izuku left towards the train station. The ride towards Yuei was not very long, he lived relatively close to the high school. After disembarking from the train, Izuku was soon standing before the gates of Yuei.
I had All Might apologize, because why wouldn't he. He isn't an asshole, and he realized directly after Izuku rescued Bakugo that he was wrong. He didn't offer OFA because he was wary of how Izuku got his quirk, after he confirms it with Recovery Girl and a few other sources, he still decides to not offer it since Izuku has a new 'quirk' with several different transformations to deal with.
I was meaning to mention this in the previous chapter, but I have some head canon (or is it head fanon?) for why Inko never did anything about the bullying. She did notice that he was upset, but he never told her anything and she did ask his teachers, but they just lied and said Izuku never told them anything and that they saw nothing. Eventually, she just gave up on trying to do something about it, mainly because Izuku wouldn't talk to her about it. Anxiety and depression are hereditary in their family, so with everything going on, she just gave up. It's not the best explanation, but it's the best one I could come up with.
So, what will happen from the investigation. Look, I don't like Bakugo and honestly, I'd prefer if he wasn't in this fic. But I will be leaving the choice to you guys, do you want him in Yuei, forced to go to a much stricter school due to his past behaviour, or what? Tell me i the comments, and try to explain your opinion, at least a bit so I can understand your train of thought.
Would you guys prefer for me to just use the original Ben 10 alien names? I don't mind too much either way, it's just that some readers might be too used to the canon ones, and I really don't mind too much. I love most of the names, other than a few that were just lazy.
So just something to keep in mind, when Izuku transforms his voice changes. I wanted to describe it, but I have no clue how. Is Swampfire's voice nasally or gravelly and is it deep. If you guys can mention it in the reviews, I'd really appreciate it.
Is the scene where Azmuth is convincing Izuku that he is worthy of the Omnitrix good enough. I'm not really sure how effective it is at conveying the emotions Izuku is feeling, and whether Azmuth's argument is strong enough to overcome Izuku's self-doubt. Please tell me in the comments.
The one punch man characters are really just because I didn't want to create OCs. They will barely be mentioned, maybe once or twice at most.
Also, do you want me to switch to western honorifics (like Mr. and Ms. and Mrs.) rather than the Japanese ones (-san, -sensei, -kun, -chan, etc...). Just tell me what you think.
I want you guys to tell me which alien you want added to the next chapter, and it will be along while before another one is added. Story wise, it took around nine or ten months for Izuku to unlock a new one, so I don't think it's going too fast. The choices are between Lodestar, Cannonbolt or Upgrade. I'll put up a poll, but also comment what you prefer.
