Lloyd POV: I know that I'm acting like a little kid, I was just so excited to have Kai moving again. Granted he was going to need a wheelchair, but moving nonetheless. Though Zane was taking his time with it.
He and I were the first ones up and he needed to adjust the wheelchair to help keep his broken leg stable. Since I was awake I offered to help, but he said that he was okay. That he could take care of it fast, and honestly he could. But that left me just watching him work, and getting bored really fast.
Zane didn't have much to do, he just needed to adjust the leg stand to a higher level. However, I still ended up pacing around.
"You are aware that you don't have to stay here, right?" He asked after a while, turning to me.
"I know, I just want to stay just in case you know." I rubbed the back of my neck, hoping that he would leave it.
But he doesn't. He stood up and asked, "Is there something bothering you?"
"Um… no." He gave me a look that made me laugh nervously.
"Lloyd, are you still feeling guilty over Kai's injuries?" I flinched from that.
"Well… maybe a little." I finally admitted.
He shook his head and said, "You shouldn't be. Kai was aware of what he was doing."
"I know that, but I haven't been able to really do anything for him. And I just want to help. Besides, I want to be there when he finally gets out of that bed." I explained, and it was the honest truth.
This he believed, given the look on his face, and said, "I understand, however what does not help is having you pacing around. It can be very distracting, no offense."
"Right, sorry about that. I'll go find the others then." I was going to leave, but Zane tapped my shoulder.
"I didn't say that you had to leave. I'm simply asking that you don't pace."
I smiled and nodded, which made him happy too. I took a chair to the wall and Zane went back to work. Even though I felt the need to pace again I stayed in the chair. Strangely, watching Zane work kind of helped my nerves. Though I was starting to doze when Zane finally finished.
"Alright, this should be ready. Now, all that is left is checking Kai again. We can try later in the day in order to build a little more strength." Zane stated, and I had to suppress a groan. He was really dragging this out.
But I know that he knows what he's doing, so I didn't say anything. Instead, I follow him to the med-bay to check on Kai. He's probably going to be even more impatient than I am. That's going to be interesting to watch.
However, my hopes were kind of crushed when we walked in and saw that Kai was still sleeping. Though I am glad he didn't have to wear an oxygen mask anymore. It removed the dying-in-bed look that he had.
"I guess we're waiting." I whispered to Zane, and he nodded.
So we headed to the kitchen and found the others were all there. It looked like they chose to just have leftovers instead of making something. When Nya saw us she immediately moved over for us.
"I thought you guys were going to get Kai into a chair today?" she asked.
I grabbed an apple from the middle bowl and said, "He was sleeping when we checked on him. Figured we'd wait on him."
"And not risk waking the wounded beast. Smart move." Jay commented, and Cole snorted at that.
I laughed too and took a bite. Zane added, "Once he wakes up I will do another scan, just to be safe."
"But nothing should be wrong, right?" Nya asked, and he nodded.
"I am simply being cautious, that's all. Though, for the next couple of days, I would recommend that we all take things slow. He is still recovering and pushing him will not do him any good." Zan stated, and we all nodded.
But we all know for a fact that Kai is going to want to push himself. That's who he is and that's the one thing that is probably never going to change. So we're going to need to plan against that.

Kai POV: Outside of being a little sore, I woke up finally fine. Though I had to stop myself from stretching so I wouldn't hurt myself. No one else was in the room with me as I moved to sit up. It hurt my shoulder and wrist, but I was careful.
Soon Zane, mostly likely with Lloyd following, is going to come in, check everything, and get me out of here. I was really looking forward to that because that means I'm that much closer to getting back on my feet. I really can't wait for that to happen.
But where were they? Someone is usually here by now. I hope someone shows up soon. I can't wait any longer.

Zane POV: After we all finished eating I found Kai was awake and waiting on us, impatiently. So Lloyd had to distract him while I went for the chair. However, seeing him acting more like himself is a very good sign. So I couldn't be upset with him even if I wanted to be.
Though when I returned I found that he and Lloyd were having a small argument.
"Seriously Kai, Zane will be back soon. You just have to wait." Lloyd said, making Kai groan.
"Lloyd, I've done nothing but lay around. I can't wait any longer." Kai retorted, but he didn't move from the bed.
I cleared my throat, catching both of their attention, and said, "Well, if you're ready. We can move you now."
"Yes." He said almost immediately.
I nodded, pushing the chair closer before helping him in. Lloyd helped, but it was still a process. We had to compensate for his arm and leg, as well as being careful for his wrist, before he was comfortable in the wheelchair.
"Are we going to have to do that everytime?" Lloyd asked, and groaned a little when I nodded.
"Only until his arm and wrist have recovered enough to support him." I explained. Kai then cleared his throat loudly.
"I'm right here, you know?" He retorted, and Lloyd rolled his eyes as he laughed.
"Yes, I am aware. And I hope that you are aware you can only do this for a little while. So you don't push yourself too much." I told him, and he responded by giving me a look.
But before he could say anything Lloyd stated, "You would be bored anyway. Nothing's happening to really entertain you."
He laughed softly and said, "I'm gonna hold you to that."
"Fine, now let's get you out of here." Lloyd responded, taking the handles.
They left, but I stayed behind to temporarily turn the machines off. It's certainly good to see him getting better. I hope that he remains on the right track.
