Daphne had always loved being praised, after all who didn't. As a child she tried her best to do well in her tutoring because she knew the way her parents would beam at her and tell her how wonderful she was.

At Hogwarts that same mentality had carried. Daphne was quick to raise her hand, her desire to be told good job and earn house points always outweighing her shy nature. Her assignments were often longer and more detailed than necessary because she reveled in the kind notes and positive feedback her instructors gave after grading her work.

Yes, Daphne liked to be told she was doing well, but that was never an issue… that is until a few weeks ago.

See, at the start of term for their 7th year at Hogwarts Harry Potter — to the surprise of no one — had been made head boy. How he hadn't been a prefect in the first place was mind boggling, but maybe that had been for the better because something interesting had taken place

Daphne always liked winning points, from instructors, prefects, it didn't matter. So why then, when Harry Potter had found her helping a first-year student to the infirmary, had that changed from liked to something else entirely?

The exchange was simple enough. "Greengrass, everything alright?" He had asked. She was on the ground level of the ancient castle making her way to the Hospital Wing, a young Ravenclaw in tow, when Harry had entered through the large oak doors. He was clad in a quidditch jersey, tight leather quidditch pants, and had a broom slung over his shoulder. His hair was tousled, his jersey sticking to him from the perspiration caused by a long quidditch practice, and he looked incredible. He was also taller now than even last year, towering a full head and a half above her, and his green eyes shone brilliantly with concern.

She swallowed. Hard. "Everything's good. Mary here has a bloody nose and wasn't sure where the Hospital Wing was, I decided to just walk her over." She said, trying her best to keep her eyes on his face and not his heaving chest.

Harry had smiled beautifully then. "That's kind of you." He had told her. "10 points to Slytherin, Greengrass. Feel better Mary." Then he was turning on his heel and making his way towards the staircase and presumably to Gryffindor Tower.

"God. Damn." Said Mary next to her in a nasally voice as she pinched the bridge of her nose and Daphne could only nod in agreement.

She didn't know what it was, but him awarding her those points had made her weak in the knees and she knew her face was far darker than her normal pale complexion. She coughed to clear her throat and took a deep breath to compose herself.

"Come on, Mary. Your nose is still bleeding." Daphne said then, and they continued their trek. The young girls nose had been healed and Daphne had returned to the dungeons, but she couldn't shake that feeling from her mind, and so instead, she chased it.

She would deny it if anyone asked of course, but whenever he was around, she found someone to help with whatever it was they needed, and if nothing was needed she would make sure something was needed. At one point she had seen him coming from down the hall and purposefully knocked a younger boy over, spilling the contents of his bag, just so she could help him pick up his belongings.

She had felt guilty for all of 5 seconds before Harry was kneeled next to her, helping her gather his things. "Not sure what it is lately Greengrass, but you seem to be constantly in the right place at the right time. 5 More points to Slytherin." He had said with a kind smile.

Her throat went dry at the words, and she coughed as she stood.

"Daphne." She choked out.

"I'm sorry?"

"Daphne." This time her voice mercifully came out more normal. "Please call me Daphne."

Harry smiled again. "Harry." Was his response. "Great job again Daphne. I'll see you around." He told her heading the way he originally had been while the younger boy she had knocked over stared at her incredulously, muttering something about her knocking him over on purpose.

'Yes, you will, Harry.' She thought. 'Yes, you will.'

A/N: Just a place to throw some Haphne drabbles that aren't long or fleshed out enough to warrant their own stories. That being said if you enjoy something let me know and we can always change that :)
