Chapter 2-Unlikely friendships

Kane's P.O.V

Kane walked through the halls of the Ark. "Kane!" Abby shouts angrily from behind him.

Kane stops and looks at her. "Not here, Abby," Kane says as he leads Abby to his apartment. He opens the door and lets Abby in.

"Did you know!?" Abby asks him. "Of course, you knew. Octavia was on that ship."

"I knew. Jake brought it up to me the day he found out about the glitch. He asked for my and Raven Reyes' help. We agreed, and Raven started to work on the pod. I asked Jake if Octavia could go, and he allowed it. Aurora was okay with it."

"What about Clarke?" Abby asks.

"That was your fault," Kane says. "You told Jaha about Jake's plan, and because of that, he was arrested, and Clarke was going to be next. So Jake took her with him. So she could have a life, the same reason I let Octavia go."

"You don't even know if they are alive!" Abby shouts at him.

"I don't, but if they died down there, at least they got to see the ground, and I'm going to see it too, and if I die down there, I'll die with my daughter."

"What are you talking about?" Abby asks.

"You know about the plan to drop the prisoners to the ground," Kane says, and Abby nods. "I'm going to get on that ship with Bellamy and Aurora. I'll talk my way on there and sneak them on. If you want to come with us, Abby, you are more than welcome," Kane tells the doctor.

After a couple of moments, she nods. "I'm in."

"Good, you need to train someone to take over for you," Kane tells Abby, who nods as she walks towards the door.

"Kane," Abby says, making Kane look at her. "If the is survivable, and they die down there somehow. I will kill you," Abby says before she leaves Kane watching the door.

Clarke's P.O.V

Clarke stood away from the ship, running her hands through the grass with Octavia beside her while Jake and Raven spoke. "It's amazing," Clarke says with a grin, and Octavia nods.

"It is," Octavia says as she looks at Clarke. "We never got introduced. I'm Octavia, Kane's daughter," Octavia says as she holds her hand out to Clarke, who smiles and takes it.

"I'm Clarke, Jake's daughter," Clarke says, making Octavia chuckle. "I didn't know Kane had a daughter."

"I'm a second child. Dad and my Mom hid me under the floor of our apartment my whole life," Octavia tells her.

"Well, there is no more hiding under the floor. We can be whoever we want down here," Clarke smiles.

"That is right," Jake says as he walks up to them with their bags. They take them. "But first, we have to survive. Kane did well; we have enough food to last us two weeks, but we only have enough water for a couple of days. There is a pistol in there with three clips. Hopefully, we won't need them."

"We need to find water, so let's go," Raven says as she starts to walk to the woods, and the other three follow.

Wells P.O.V

Wells Jaha sat at the table he played chess at with Clarke. The news of Clarke, Jake, and Raven's deaths quickly spread. Everybody was talking about it. "You doing okay, Jr?" John Murphy asks from behind him. Wells stays silent. "You miss your princess. Sucks what happened to her, but I guess you know how the rest of us feel? Your father killed mine, and now he killed your princess."

Wells stands up and looks at Murphy. "Back off, Murphy."

"Why? Is your Dad gonna float me, too? He won't float, you. But it's okay to float a Dad stealing medicine for his son or a sixteen-year-old girl. Are you pissed off, Wells? You Dad killed your best friend!" Murphy shouts at him, and Wells punches him in the face. He grabs him by his shirt and throws him across the table. Murphy laid on his back with a smile.

"Leave me the hell alone, Murphy," Wells says before he walks away from him.

Kane's P.O.V

Kane walked into Aurora's apartment and looked at Bellamy and Aurora as they ate. "Do you know anything?" Bellamy asks him.

"No," Kane says as he sits down. "The floor?" Kane asks him.

"Shealed back up. When Jaha figures it out, you won't know Octavia was ever her," Bellamy tells Kane, who nods.

"Good job, Bell," Kane says to the young man, who nods.

"So now what?" Aurora asks.

"We act normal, have a life, and in a year, we join Octavia on the ground," Kane says.

"And if the ground isn't survivable?" Bellamy asks.

"Then we join her in the next life," Kane tells them, and they nod.

Jaha's P.O.V

Jaha sat in the control room, watching the video with Sinclair. "You trained her well," Jaha tells Sinclair.

"I didn't think she was this good," Sinclair says. "That pod was over a hundred years old, and she is amazing."

"Could she get all the parts she needs to fix that part by herself?" Jaha asks him.

"Yeah, probably, besides a pressure regulator, but if what Kane says is true, Niguel could have gotten her that. Niguel knew Raven's Mom. Jake could have all gotten it for her before he was arrested," Sinclair tells him.

Jaha nods as Shumway walks into the control room. "Did you get an I.D. on the other girl?" Jaha asks him.

"No, sir."

"We have a clear picture of her face. How do you not have an I.D.?" Jaha asks.

"Because she isn't in the system, sir," Shumway tells him. "She has never been seen by any doctors, or anybody else for that matter."

"A second child," Jaha realizes, and Shumway nods. "Search every apartment, find who was hiding this girl," Jaha orders Shumway, who nods as he walks away.

Raven's P.O.V

Raven looked at Clarke as she walked up beside her. "I didn't get to thank you for what you did for my Dad, for me. You saved our lives, so thank you," Clarke says to Raven, who smiles.

"No problem, it worked out for me, too," Raven says.

"You still think they'll send the prisoners?" Octavia asks Jake.

"Prisoners?" Clarke asks.

"In a year, the prisoners in the skybox will be dropped to the ground. Kane plans to be on that ship with Octavia's mother, Aurora, and Octavia's brother, Bellamy," Jake tells them.

"Mom?" Clarke asks Jake.

"Maybe," Jake says. "You need to know something, Clarke. Your Mom is the one who told Jaha, not Wells."

"What?" Clarke asks.

"She told me you were blaming Wells. It wasn't Wells who got me arrested. It was Abby," Jake tells Clarke, who slowly nods as they see a river.

"We found water," Octavia says.

"We'll set up camp here," Jake says. "We can you metal from the ship to make knives and axes, and we'll start to build a cabin. Clarke and I will set up camp, and Raven and Octavia will go back to the ship and collect what you can," Jake tells the two women, who nod as they leave.

Bellamy's P.O.V

Bellamy and Aurora stood up when they heard pounding on the door. "Open the door," A guard says. Bellamy nods to his mother, who walks to the door and opens it.

"What's going on?" Aurora asks.

"We are searching your apartment. Get out," The guard tells Aurora, who nods as she leaves with Bellamy. They stood by the wall as the guards tore their room apart.

"You're sure the floor is secure?" Aurora asks her son, who nods.

"I have been working on it since Octavia left. I'm sure," Bellamy tells his mother, who nods. After an hour, the guards come out of their apartment and leave. They walk back in. "Now we get to clear it all up."

Wells's P.O.V

Wells stood in front of the window, watching Earth. "Nice view, isn't it?" Murphy asks as he walks up to him. Wells turns to him. "I come in peace, Jr," Murphy says as he holds out a bottle. "My Mom had one hidden. Peace?" Murphy asks, and Wells takes the bottle and takes a drink.

"What do you want, Murphy?" Wells asks.

"I was an asshole early," Murphy says. "After I left, I heard some guards talking about what happened last night. They mentioned a girl with black hair, but it wasn't Raven Reyes. So I got to thinking, nothing about their floating made since, if you're gonna kill two of the most well-known people in the Ark. You want the people to see them being marched to the floating chamber. But none of that happened. They were killed during the night, and members of the council were seen running to the control room. I was able to watch my Dad die. I don't think they are dead, Wells."

"What?" Wells asks. "Then where are they?"

"I don't know, but I want to find out," Murphy says. "I want your help. I think the princess is still alive. You wanna help me find her?" Murphy asks as he holds his hand out to him. "Partners?"

"Partners," Wells says as he shakes his hand.

Octavia's P.O.V

Octavia and Raven walk through the woods. "Must have been hard, living in one room your whole life," Raven says.

"It was, but my Mom, Dad, and brother made it easier. They made sure I had fun, gave me what life they could in that room, and when they get down here, we'll be a family. Do you have family on the Ark?"

"Never met my Dad, and my Mom was a drunk. She would give my rations away for Moonshine. Finn, the boy who lived next to me, gave me his. I found my Mom dead. Drank herself to death. All I had was Finn. He's my boyfriend. He's in the skybox. Hopefully, I'll see him in a year,"

"We'll both see the people we love in a year," She says with a smile. Raven nods as they see the ship. "Let's get what we can."

Wells's P.O.V

Wells walked into his apartment and saw his Dad sitting at the table. "Wells, where have you been?" Jaha asks.

"Don't talk to me," Wells says. Jaha stands up.

"I did what I had to Wells. I'm sorry about Clarke."

"You're sorry?!" Wells shouts as he turns to look at his father. "You killed my best friend! You took the only person on this piece of shit that I could talk to! Don't talk to me, as far as I'm concerned. You're as dead to me as she is!"

"I did what I had to," Jaha says, and Wells punches him in the face.

"You're dead to me," Wells says before he leaves the apartment. He walks through the Ark until he reaches Murphy's apartment. He knocks on the door, and Murphy opens it. "When I said partners, I didn't think you'd show up at my apartment."

"If I stay with my Dad, I will kill him," Wells tells Murphy, who lets him in. "Mind if I stay with you for a little while?"

"Sure, not a lot of space."

"Give me a pillow and blanket, and I'll be fine," Wells says, and Murphy nods as he hands Wells a pillow and blanket, and Wells lays down.

Jake's P.O.V

Jake, Raven, Clarke, and Octavia sat around a fire. "I guess earth skills was useful," Clarke says with a smile.

"We're gonna need it," Jake says as he looks around. "Clarke and I saw a deer earlier across the river. Which means there are animals down here, and that means we can survive down here, we have water, and we can kill animals for food and eat the berries," Jake says. "But we have to be prepared for the weather, so tomorrow we start working on a home."

"What he is trying to say is get some sleep," Clarke says. They nod as they lie down, none of them aware that they are being watched.

The next chapter will have a time skip and show how everybody is doing as Kane works out a plan and, Murphy and Wells continue to investigate, and the group on the ground find out they are not alone.
