Chapter 10-Preparing to fight

Two weeks later

Jake's P.O.V

Jake walked through the tower and into the throne room where Lexa, Luna, Anya, and Indra were speaking. "Gustus said you needed to see me," Jake says and Lexa nods.

"Raven has healed, it is time for us to attack the clanless, village," Lexa tells Jake who nods as he walks over to her. "The plan is to do it tonight, while they sleep, we attack the camp head on, burn the houses and kill the warriors as they exit the houses, we'll have archers in the trees, and 200 warriors on the ground, it should be a good fight."

"It will be a massacre," Indra says. "This is the best way to ensure we do not lose as many soldiers; we will need as many people as possible if we hope to build this village."

"You could be waiting for us, they have to know we attacked their camp," Jake says.

"They might be," Lexa says. "We'll know more in a little while. Scouts should be returning soon. Go make sure that Raven, Clarke, and Octavia are ready," Jake nods as he leaves the room.

Kane's P.O.V

Kane knocked on the door to Jaha's apartment. Jaha opens the door and looks at Kane. "Marcus, is everything alright?" Jaha asks as he lets Kane outside.

"I have noticed guards following me, is there a reason?" Kane asks as he sits down and Jaha nods as he sits across from her.

"With everything that happened with Clarke, Raven, and Jake. I worry about you, Marcus. Parents are not happy. They are scared that their children will be floated. Of course, they will not be but tensions are rising, Marcus. Something is coming and they may attack you, or me. I want to make sure you are safe. I need you here with me," Jaha explains and Kane nods.

"How long do you plan on having them follow me?" Kane asks. "How long do you think this will last?"

"Until you go to the ground, and I know you are safe. I have your best interests in mind, Marcus. I promise you."

"I know my friend," Kane says. "I understand, just ask them to stay out of my way."

"Of course, Marcus," Jaha says and Kane nods as he stands up and leaves.

Bellamy's P.O.V

Bellamy looked at the door as it opened, and Kane walked in. "Aurora here?" Kane asks Bellamy who shakes his head.

"She's working," Bellamy says and Kane nods. "What's wrong?"

"I think Jaha is start to suspect something is wrong, he has guards following me. I need to you do some things for me, Bell."

"Anything," Bellamy says as he stands.

"Find Murphy and Wells, tell them to watch out for guards and we won't be meeting for a little while, only if it is urgent. You need to go to farm station and speak with Sinclair, tell him that I sent you. Leave ten minutes after I do," Kane tells Bellamy who nods as he leaves.

Octavia's P.O.V

Octavia was putting her armor on when the door opened, and Raven walked in. "Ever hear of knocking?" Octavia asks.

"Yes," Raven says. "But we've had sex. I wouldn't see anything I haven't," Raven says with a smirk. "That is why I'm here. I figure we should talk."

"Yeah, we should," Octavia says as she sits down. Raven sits down beside her. "When Indra talked to me, I wanted to prove her wrong, I didn't love you, I knew that but I knew I cared about you, that I had feelings for you and as those feelings grew, It scared me, so I pushed you away, I did everything I could to distant myself from you, make you hate me, but you didn't, you were still you and then I started training with Lincoln."

"You like him," Raven says. "I'm not blind, can't say I blame you O, he's hot and he's nice and amazing. What we had, it was great, the sex was amazing," Raven says making Octavia chuckle. "But it was never meant to last, we needed someone to hold when we thought we had lost everything, but we have both grown over the last four months, it's time for us to figure out where our lives are going to go. The truth is, this ended the day we left that cabin, But I still care about you."

"That will never change, whether we are lovers, best friends, or sisters," Octavia says as she hugs her. "I do love you, just not that way."

"I love you, too," Raven says before she stands up. "You should probably talk to Lincoln. We could die tonight."

"I will," Octavia says before Raven leaves the room.

Bellamy's P.O.V

Bellamy walks up to Murphy and Wells as they talked in the hall. "Walk with me," Bellamy says and the two teens nod as they walk with him.

"What's going on?" Murphy asks him.

"Jaha has guards watching Kane. He says that it is for Kane's protection, but we know better than that. He knows something is up, so no more meetings unless we have to."

"You think Jaha knows about Octavia?" Murphy asks quietly.

"No, he would have had him, and Mom arrested, Kane didn't tell me to do this but I'm doing it anyways, pack a bag, stuff you'll need on the ground. We don't know what is going to happen. Tell Jasper, Monty, Miller, and Harper the same thing. We need to be ready."

"We should bring Charlotte in," Murphy says.

"No, we shouldn't," Wells says. "That girl doesn't need to be brought into this mess. She should be able to enjoy her life, even if it is just another year or two."

"He's right, telling her won't do any good," Bellamy says. "Go talk with the others, I got to talk with Sinclair," The two teens nod as they walk away from Bellamy.

Clarke's P.O.V

Clarke, Octavia, Raven, Jake, Gustus, Luna, Anya, Lincoln, and Indra stood in the throne room. "Our scouts have returned," Lexa says. "There are about 130 soldiers in the village. They have prepared for an attack but only four of them keep watch around the village. Our archers will be able to take them out. Our plan will still work," Lexa says as she looks at a map the scouts had made of the village. "We will attack from each side, north, east, south, and west. Clarke and I will lead the attack from the north. Gustus, Raven, and Luna will lead the attack from the west. Anya, Lincoln, and Octavia will lead it from the south. Jake and Indra will lead it from the east. Each of us will have 50 warriors."

"How do we know when to attack?" Raven says.

"The archers will light a house on fire, when the arrow is fired, we attack as the rest of the archers do the same. If all goes well, we should be able to take them by surprise," Lexa says. "We leave in an hour, be prepared."

They all nod as they slowly leave the group. "Clarke, stay a moment," Lexa says and Clarke nods as she walks up to the grounder Commander. "After this, your village will begin to be build."

"Yes, it will," Clarke says. "Is something going on that we don't know about?"

"No, everything is fine," Lexa says. "Jake will be the leader of this village. I would like for you to remain in Polis while it is being build."

"Because I'm your second?" Clarke asks.

"Yes, and because I want you to be the ambassador for your people. You already attend meetings; you are learning more each day. I think you will be good at it."

"I'll stay," Clarke tells Lexa who nods as she leaves the room.

Bellamy's P.O.V

Bellamy walked up to the door in farm station and knocks on the door. After a moment the door slides open and Sinclair motions him in. "No mask?" Bellamy asks as he follows him in.

"Got the fan working," Wick says.

"You don't think Jaha will want to use this room for anything?"

"I already fixed that, Jaha thinks I am using this room to store parts," Sinclair says. "Dangerous parts, nobody will come in here," He says as he looks at his ship. "It's done."

"Really?"

"Yep," Sinclair answers. "If Kane needs this ship, it is ready to launch."

"It's safe?" Bellamy asks him.

"As safe as it can be," Wick says. "We couldn't use the best parts to build it, but it should get us to the ground without exploding."

"That is not reassuring," Bellamy says and Wick chuckles.

"It shouldn't be," he says. "Truth is, this thing has a forty percent chance of exploding during retry, that's why Kane only wants to use it If we have to, the dropship is much safer."

"Jaha has guards watching Kane. Make sure you have a bag, we might have to leave on a moment, notice," Bellamy tells the two men who nod as he leaves.

Octavia's P.O.V

Octavia walked into Lincoln's room. "Octavia, the Commander said an hour, are we leaving early?" Lincoln asks.

"No," Octavia says as she walks up to him. "I've really enjoyed the last few months with you Lincoln. You've shown me how to be strong, make me feel safe, because of that I'm ready for tonight. I—"

Octavia is cut off by Lincoln grabbing her face and kissing her. "I hope that was okay," Lincoln says after he pulls back.

"It was," Octavia says as Lincoln's door opens.

"Come on lovebirds, we have work to do," Raven says.

"Knock, Raven," Octavia says.

"Never," She says. "Lock the door," She shuts the door.

"Let's go," Lincoln says as he leads Octavia out of the room.

Kane's P.O.V

Kane sat at the table in Aurora's apartment and looked at her as she walked in. "Abby told me what's going on," Aurora says as she walks up to him. "We should just take the ship, Marcus. Why wait?"

"Because it isn't safe," Kane says as he leans back in the chair with a sigh. "According to Sinclair, there is a forty percent change that the ship explodes during re-entry. That's why it is our last option, because there is a good chance we'll die before we hit the guard. The dropship is safer."

"Do the others know about this?" Aurora asks.

"No, Bellamy probably does now, I didn't see a point in telling them unless I have to. I'm hoping I never have to. Just trust me, Aurora."

"I do," She says as she takes his hand. "I do. But you need to tell them, they deserve to know the risk they are taking if they board that ship," Kane nods as he kisses her hand.

"I'll tell them."

No one's P.O.V

Clanless village

Lexa was beside Clarke as they stared at the village. "Are you ready for this, Clarke."

"As ready as I can be," Clarke answers. "Give the signal."

Lexa nods as she motions for the archers to fire. They watch as they fire their arrows and the houses start to catch on fire and they charge into the village.
