Chapter 13-Choices
Kane's P.O.V
"They know, get to the ship," Kane shot up when he heard David's voice. He quickly grabs his gun and tucks it in his pants. He grabs his radio. "Get to the ship, I'll meet you there," Kane says as there was a knock on his door. He walks to the door and opens it. Jaha, Shumway and three guards stood in front of the door. "Sir? What is it?" Kane asks.
"Let's talk, Marcus," Jaha says as he walks into the apartment with the guards following him. He motions for Kane to sit down and Kane sits down across from him. The guards stood around them. "What is her name, Marcus?"
"Who are you talking about, sir?" Kane asks.
"Your daughter, the person who escaped with Jake," Jaha says.
"Why does that matter? Why not just arrest me and float me?" Kane asks.
"Because I wanna know why? You have always followed the Ark's rules. Enforced them, why break them, Marcus?"
"Love, Sir."
Bellamy's P.O.V
Bellamy grabs his bag and gun and looks at Aurora as there was a knock. "It's me," David says.
"Come in," Bellamy says and David walks in with Miller.
"Miller is going to the ship," David says. "I'm going to make sure, Sinclair gets there."
"Miller take my Mom," Bellamy says.
"I am not leaving you," Aurora says.
"Yes, you are. The guards are looking for you. You need to be safe. I need to get the others and Kane. Mom, please, go,"
"He's right, Aurora," David says.
"Fine," Aurora says and Bellamy nods as he leaves with David.
Kane's P.O.V
Kane stared at Jaha as he watched him. "Did you help, Jake?" Jaha asks Kane who nods.
"I got the parts for Raven Reyes," Kane answers. "He agreed to take Octavia to the ground."
"Octavia? That is her name?" Jaha asks.
"Yes," Kane says. "You're a father, you must understand why I protected her."
"I do, my friend," Jaha says. "But the laws are the laws."
"But you haven't arrested me, so either you're looking for a reason to pardon me or you want me to tell you a story," Kane says.
"Any other crimes you'd like to confess too?" Jaha asks.
"No," Kane answers. "I love my daughter sir, I would have killed a hundred people if it meant keeping her safe."
"She is the reason you wanted to join the prisoners," Jaha says. "You believe they are alive?"
"I do, I have too," Kane tells him. "How did you figure it out?"
"I almost didn't," Jaha admits. "You and Aurora covered your tracks really well Marcus. But we found a blood test, sealed off but we were able to get access. I imagine that was Abby's doing. She was pregnant when that test was taken. She probably didn't know or just found out because she didn't see a doctor for a year after that. After that, it was pretty easy to put the rest of the pieces together. Regardless, you just admitted to it all."
Kane smiles. "You did good my friend."
Murphy's P.O.V
Murphy put his bag on his shoulder as Bellamy walked into the apartment. "You guys, ready?" Bellamy asks.
"Yeah," Murphy says. "But we haven't heard anything from, Kane."
"I'm going to go get him," Bellamy says.
"Not alone," Murphy says. "You guys get to the ship, I'll go with Bellamy."
"You sure?" Wells asks.
"Yeah, I'm sure, good luck, brother," Murphy says before he leaves with Bellamy.
"If Jaha is there, you realize we might have to kill him?" Bellamy asks.
"I know," Murphy says. "If we do, I'll do it," Murphy says and Bellamy nods as they continue to walk.
Miller's P.O.V
Miller and Aurora walk through the Ark. "Aurora Blake, stop!" A guard shouts from behind them. Miller spins around and shoots the guard in the chest. Miller and Aurora quickly get on the other side of the hall and behind a wall as more guards come out and start to fire. "Get to the ship! Go!" Miller shouts. Aurora nods as she quickly runs away and Miller takes a deep breath.
Kane's P.O.V
"How did you keep her hidden?" Jaha asks.
"We hid her under the floor," Kane says. "Jake helped."
"How long did he know?" Jaha asks.
"A guard is down and Aurora Blake is on the run," A guard says over the radio making Jaha look at Shumway as Kane smiles. Jaha then looks at Kane.
"You have a plan, Marcus?" Jaha asks.
"I always have a plan, sir," Kane says.
"Send every guard we have after, her, and anybody who helps her," Jaha growls and Shumway nods as he sends two of the guards out.
"You aren't getting away from this, Marcus," Jaha says.
"I don't need to, I just need her too," Kane says as the guard behind them is shot in the head and they turn to look at Bellamy and Murphy as they enter the apartment.
"Chancellor," Murphy says as he aims his gun at Shumway.
David's P.O.V
David runs into the workshop and sees Sinclair and Wick. "You guys ready?" David asks the two men who nods.
"Let's get the hell out of her," Sinclair says as the door opens and two guards come in.
"Sir, aren't you supposed to be arresting Aurora Blake?" One of them asks.
"He's helping, Kane," One of them realizes as he reaches for his baton. David quickly removes his gun and shoots one in the neck and ducks under a swing from the other. He then shoots him in the leg and then the head.
"We gotta, go, Now!" David tells them as they leave the room.
Wells's P.O.V
Wells, Abby, Jasper, Monty, and Harper ran through the Ark. They stopped when they heard gunshots. "We gotta keep going," Wells says as they continue to run. They get around a corner and see three guards firing at Miller. They turn around and look at them.
"Get back," One says as he aims his gun at them. "On your knees," He growls as they take a step back.
"My father will float you if you hurt me," Wells says.
"You're with them," He growls back. "You betrayed your people, Wells. Your father."
"He betrayed me first," Wells says as Harper withdraws her gun and shoots the guard in the chest. Wells then runs up to the second guards and tackles him as he continues to shoot at Miller. Wells punches him as Jasper kicks the third one in the leg and Monty kicks him in the face.
"Wells!" Abby says causing Wells to stop punching the bloody guard. "We have to go. Let's go!" Abby says and Wells nods as he stands up and they continue to run down the hall where Miller was waiting.
"Let's go," Wells says as they run towards the ship.
Murphy's P.O.V
Kane stands up and withdraws his gun and aims it at Shumway. "My son—"
"Is done with your bullshit," Murphy says. He then looks at Shumway. "You arrested, my father. You're the reason my parents are dead."
"Your father was an idiot," Shumway growls. "Your mother was a drunk and an idiot, your parents were failures, just as—" Shumway is cut off by Murphy pulling the trigger. The bullet goes between his eyes and his body falls to the ground.
"You didn't have to do that," Kane tells him.
"I did," Murphy says as he aims his gun at Jaha.
"No Murphy," Kane says.
"Do you see what you have done, Marcus, good people are dead because of you, because of your choices," Jaha says as he stands. "Stop this, tell them to stop. End this."
"I can't my friend, my family still needs me, but you can stop this. Tell your men to stand down. Let us go."
"How do you plan on getting out of this, Marcus?"
"A dropship," Kane says. "Sinclair has been working on one since Octavia was born. You let us go, and we might die during re-entry and or to radiation, end this, sir," Kane says.
"You leave my son and I will allow you to leave."
"Not happening," Murphy growls.
"Murphy," Kane says.
"I will kill both of you before I let you leave Wells here," Murphy growls. "You understand me, Kane?"
Kane stares at the teen. "More will die."
"I don't care!" Murphy shouts. "What have they ever done for me! Those guards, him, they deserve to die, they look down on us, we don't matter to them! You are not leaving Wells here, he is coming! I'll kill every guard and Jaha to make that happen! He is the first person to believe me! He's my best friend and my brother, you wanna leave him here, you're gonna have to kill me!" Murphy shouts.
"You have a choice to make, Marcus. Either you're leaving this room with me dead or Mr. Murphy dead."
Wells's P.O.V
Wells gets to the ship and sees Aurora. "Kane?"
"Bellamy and Murphy went to get him," Harper says as David, Sinclair, and Wick come in.
"We got a couple guards behind us, we need to go," David says.
"Not without Kane, Bellamy, and Murphy. Aurora give me your gun," Wells says and Aurora hands him the gun. "We hold them off until they get here or we die trying."
"I'm in," Harper says and the others nod.
"Alright," David says as he goes towards the door.
Kane's P.O.V
Kane stares at Jaha who stares right back at him. "You can end one life and save many," Jaha says as he looks at Murphy. "I am your oldest friend, Marcus and I swear to you, no harm will come to you when the prisoners get to the ground."
"Don't believe him," Bellamy says. "Kane, come on, let's go."
"Let us walk out of here, Jaha. No one has to die," Kane says as he puts his gun away. "No one else."
"Go," Jaha says after a moment and Kane turns his back and starts to walk. Jaha then lunges at him and a gunshot goes off. Jaha falls backwards onto the couch holding his shoulder as blood poured out of it. Kane and Bellamy look at Murphy who walks up to Jaha and points his gun at his head. "The only reason you're still breathing is because I won't take Well's father away from him. Come after us and I will kill you, Jaha," Murphy says before he hits Jaha in the head with his gun knocking the man. "Let's go," Murphy says as he leaves the room with the other two following.
Aurora's P.O.V
Aurora watches as David fires his last shot. "We have to go, I'm out," David says.
"Me too," Wells says as they the gunfire from outside stops. The doors opens and Kane, Murphy, and Bellamy come in.
"Thank god," Aurora says as she runs up to him and hugs him.
"We have to go, now," Kane says as they enter the ship. The door shuts.
"My Dad?" Wells asks as he sits down beside.
"He's alive, has a bullet in his shoulder but he'll live," Murphy tells Wells who nods.
"Thank you for not killing him," Wells says.
"It took a lot of effort," Murphy says making Wells chuckle.
"We're dropping in five…four…three…two…one," Sinclair says and the drop falls from the Ark. Kane grabs Aurora hand.
Jaha's P.O.V
Jaha walks into the control room and looks at Diana Syndey and Charlies Pike. "What happened? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Jaha growls. "Jackson can look at me after, what happened?"
"A ship dropped," Pike tells Jaha. "What is going on, guards are dead all over the Ark."
"The people want answers, Jaha," Diana says.
"I will give them answers," Jaha says as he walks towards the control panel. "People of the Ark. Hear me now, we have been betrayed, Marcus Kane, Aurora Blake, Bellamy Blake, John Murphy, Nathan Miller, David Miller, Harper Mclntyre, Jacapo Sinclair, Jasper Jordan, Monty Greene, Abby Griffin, Kyle Wick, and my son Wells Jaha have betrayed us, they have killed over a dozen good men, guards who protected you, they killed Commander Shumway. They escaped to the ground using a dropship that Sinclair made. Tomorrow, I will explain everything I swear to you, but right now. I make you a promise, they will all die for their crimes. The dead will be avenged."
Thanks for reading. I was really debating killing but I decided against it as there is more I want to do with him. Jaha and some others will be the main focus of the Ark now as he plans on how to get revenge. Next chapter Kane arrives on the ground, Lexa learns that Titus is dead and Octavia sees her family.
