Chapter 20-Battle plans

Clarke's P.O.V

A scream was heard throughout the tower as Costia's right hand if removed. The woman clutched her hand as she passed out. "Alright, help me get her to the bed," Clarke says to the others who nod as they pick Costia up and take her to the bed. "I only need, Luna. The rest of you need to leave, find my Mom and sent her in here," Clarke says as she presses a cloth up against the stump. "Now, get out."

"Clarke—" Lexa starts.

"She will be fine, Lexa. Trust me," Clarke tells her girlfriend who nods as she leaves the room with the others.

Jake's P.O.V

Jake knocked on Lexa's door. "Come in," He hears. He opens the door and walks into the room. He walks out to the balcony and looks at the Commander as she stared out into the city. "Costia and I used to watch this city for hours," Lexa says.

"You regret what you did?" Jake asks her.

"I couldn't even do it, Clarke had too. I know that it needed to happen. Even after what she has done, what she had become. I still care for her," Lexa says.

"My wife almost got me killed. She almost got me floated and because of that my daughter and I had to come to the ground. I still love her, even though I am angry with her," Jake tells her. "It's okay to feel guilt, Lexa."

"I am the Commander. I am supposed to be able to separate my personal feelings from my duties," Lexa tells him.

"If that was true, you wouldn't be dating your second," Jake says making Lexa look at him. "She's my daughter and I'm not blind. Sometimes, it is impossible to separate the two. That's okay, Lexa your people love you. Everybody in this tower would die for you, that isn't because you're the Commander. That's because we love you, and we know that we need you," Jake tells her.

"Thank you, Jake," Lexa says and Jake nods. "What did you need?"

"I came to check in on you," Jake tells her. "Also we do have a war to plan," Jake tells her.

"Yes, we do," Lexa says. "Let's go do that."

Raven's P.O.V

Raven stood outside with her bow in her hands. She released the string and the arrow went flying into the center of the target. "I wouldn't mess with you," Luna says as she walks over to her.

"Aren't you supposed to be helping Clarke with Costia?" Raven asks as she turns to look at her.

"Abby came in and Clarke kicked me out," Luna says. "I may have a little bit of medical experience but those two beat me."

"Are Anya, and Lexa talking?" Raven asks Luna who nods.

"They don't need us right now, they'll send Nick when they do," She tells him. "You have gotten really good with that bow."

"I'm better than you now," Raven says. Luna holds her hand out and Raven hands her the bow. She pulls an arrow out of Raven's quiver. She fires the bow and splits Raven's arrow in half. "Fuck you."

"You're so sweet," Luna says as she gives Raven her bow. "Are you ready for this, your first war."

"I've been in fights before, Luna," Raven says as she fires another arrow into the target.

"This isn't the same," Luna says. "You won't be returning home after a fight. You'll be fighting fight after fight, you'll be sleeping in tents with one eye open worrying that your camp could be attacked at any moment. That it is your last day on earth," Luna says.

"I'll have you to protect me, I have nothing to worry about," Raven says.

"I guess I'll have to stay close to you," Luna says and Raven smiles.

"I guess you will," Raven says softly. "You are supposed to be protecting me."

"Don't worry, I won't be far," Luna says as she lays her hand on Raven's arm. Raven smiles at her. "Just kiss me already."

Raven smiles as she leans up and kisses Luna who lays her hand on Raven's hips. They pull apart when they hear someone cough. They turn and look at Nick. "Can we help you?" Luna asks.

"The…the Commander is ready for you," Nick says his face red.

"Alright, we'll be up in a minute," Raven tells Nick who nods as he quickly turns and leaves. "She can wait a minute," Raven says before she leans up and kisses Luna again.

Atom's P.O.V

Atom walks through the prison. "Hey, Atom," Finn Collins says making Atom look at him.

"What do you want, spacewalker?" Atom asks as he turns to look at Finn who was sitting with Jones and Mbege.

"Who's your friend? The one with that little girl," Finn asks.

"I think if she wanted you to know your name? You would know it," Atom says to him. "I got better shit to do that talk to you."

"Like what? We're just waiting to be floated," Finn says. "Come on, enjoy the rest of our lives."

"I'm good," Atom says before he walks over to Claire and Charlotte.

"That looked fun," Claire says.

"It was," Atom says as he sits down and looks at Charotte who was looking over at one of the teens. "What are you looking at?" Atom asks as he follows her eyesight to one of the teens.

"Who is that?" Charlotte asks.

"Zoe Monroe," Atom says.

"Why?" Claire asks.

"Just wondering," Charlotte says as she continues to eat.

Clarke's P.O.V

Clarke sat against the wall. Abby walked over to her daughter and handed her a wet rag. "Your hands are covered in blood," Abby says as she hands her the rag.

"Thanks," Clarke says as she wipes the blood off her hands.

"You did good," Abby says. "You're better than you were on the Ark."

"That's what happens when you spend hours helping soldiers after battles," Clarke says. Abby nods.

"How…How many people have you killed, Clarke?" Abby asks her daughter.

"I don't count," Clarke answers. "At least three dozen. I tried to count at the start but when you're fighting. You can't think, you just act. Killing them didn't bother me. Even now, if I'm killing them to keep the people I love safe. I'm fine with it."

"I'm sorry."

"You can say that all you want, it won't change what has happened," Clarke says as she stands up and walks over to Costia. "As long as she doesn't start bleeding again and the wound doesn't get infected, she should be fine."

"Clarke—"

"I didn't ask you to come here so we could talk. I asked you to come here so we could save Costia. What you did, it can't be fixed by saying sorry, you almost got Dad killed, me thrown into the sky box and then we had to come down here," Clarke says as she pulls the side of her shirt to the side revealing a scar. "This is from a dagger. I had to fight a man to the death to save Emori and Otan. He almost killed me. You sentenced your husband and daughter to death. That was you, not Jaha," Clarke says before she walks to the door. "I'm going to get fresh bandages and check on Lexa. Keep an eye on her," She says before she pulls the door open and leaves the room.

Murphy's P.O.V

Murphy dodged a swing from Wells and swings his sword at his best friend who rolled to the side of the swing. Wells stands back up and the two teens circle each other. "If one of you don't lose soon, I'm going to join in," Harper says making them look at her.

"Please, if you think you can do better, join in," Wells says as he steps out of the ring. Harper smirks as she takes the sword from Wells and enters the ring.

"If he loses, I'll jump off the waterfall near the village," Jasper says as he looks at Wells who smirks.

"Deal," Wells says.

"Come on, Murphy. Are you to afraid to hit a girl?" Harper asks. Murphy smirks as he swings the sword at Harper who side steps the swing and jabs her sword at Murphy who jumps back. Murphy brings his sword down on Harper who hits it away and punches him in the face. She charges Murphy and tackles him to the ground and presses the sword up against his throat.

"You're jumping," Wells says with a smirk as Harper stands up.

"Better luck next time, Murphy," Harper says to Murphy as he stands up.

"You get distracted by something, Murphy?" Wells asks.

"Shut the hell up, Wells," Murphy says as he leaves the room. "I will take your tongue out of your head."

"Got it."

Lexa's P.O.V

Lexa, Anya, Luna, Raven, Jake, Lincoln, Emori, Otan, Clarke, Gustus, and Octavia stood in the throne room. "Anya has told me about Clarke's plan," Lexa says as she looks at the map. "She's right, it will be a sacrifice but we will lose more people if we all attack the border leading to Azgeda. I will talk with the clan leaders,"

"When do we leave?" Luna asks her.

"Two days," Lexa says. "We are still waiting for some of the clans. We will leave during the night and our army will hit the border by noon, hopefully that will stop Nia from realizing that we have split up. "We'll be sending three thousand warriors, to the border."

"What clan leader will agree to send thousand warriors to die?" Raven asks.

None of them will. Each clan will send 275 warriors. We will all lose something," Lexa says. "I have sent riders to tell the clan leaders. Once we have crossed the border, it will take us a couple of days to get to the capital, until we get there, we will hit every camp, every village. We will only kill the people trying to kill us, no one innocent." Lexa says.

"What happens when Nia is killed?" Raven asks.

"Roan will become the King of Azgeda," Lexa answers.

"Are you sure that is a good idea? How do we know he won't betray you like Nia did?" Octavia asks.

"We don't, but Roan knows that an alliance with the Coalition is the best thing for Azgeda. He's always wanted to be the king. Hopefully he won't be as stupid as his mother."

"We are going to be gone for two or three weeks," Anya says.

"What about Kane and his people," Jake asks.

"They will be staying here, I will not risk their lives in a war, they have no training," Lexa says. "I will speak with Kane tomorrow. That is all for now, go and get some sleep."

Clarke's P.O.V

Clarke walked into Costia's room. The woman was still sleeping on bed. "She'll probably sleep throughout the night. You should have guards on this room though," Abby says.

"There will be, go to sleep, Mom," Clarke says. Abby nods as Clarke leaves the room. She walks to her room and sees Nick standing in front of the door. "What?"

"Heda wants to see you," Nick tells Clarke who nods as she walks to Lexa's room. She wants into the room and sees Lexa laying in bed.

"How's Costia?"

"She'll be okay, probably won't wake up until the morning," Clarke says. "Nick said you wanted to see me."

"Yes, now come lay down," Lexa says and Clarke smiles as she walks over to the bed and lays down.

"So am I going to be sleeping on the ground?"

"No, I'll have a bed, maybe I'll let you join me."

"You're so sweet," Clarke says. Clarke wraps her arms around Lexa. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight."
