Chapter 30-Giving them a choice

Dante's P.O.V

Dante Wallace sat in his office as Dr. Lorelei Tsing walks in. "That was quick," Dante says. Dante was the president of Mount Weather.

"One of them wants to talk to you," Lorelei tells him.

"I do not wish to speak to those savages," Dante says.

"She says she can help you defeat the grounders, their leaders. She says she was a queen," Lorelei says. "It sounds like she hates them as much as we do."

"She could be lying to us," Dante says. "I will speak with her when I get time."

"Of course Mr. President," Lorelei says as she leaves.

Lexa's P.O.V

Three days later

Lexa rode into Polis as people lined the streets cheering for their Commander. They slowly move through the city until they reach the front of the tower. Lexa looks at Gaia who was waiting at the front of the tower. "The people are ready for you, Heda," Gaia says. Lexa nods as she climbs off her horse and looks at Clarke.

"Are you coming?" Lexa asks her.

"Uh, yeah," Clarke says as she quickly climbs off her horse and follows her girlfriend onto the platform.

"Nia has been defeated," Lexa says and her people cheer. "But she is not dead. Nia fled the battle like a coward, she is out there somewhere. So please, be careful when traveling. Azgeda has fallen, you will notice that we have come back with more people. Farmers, children and villagers from Azgeda have returned with us, they are not our enemies, they are our allies, Roan will lead them, if you attack them, you will be attacking me. We have won! Tomorrow we will celebrate!" The people cheer as Lexa looks at Clarke. "There is one last thing, I am in a relationship with Clarke Kom Skaikru," Lexa says. Lexa watches the reactions of her people as some smile. "Tomorrow we will celebrate."

Costia's P.O.V

Costia looks at the door as it opens and Ontari walks in. Costia quickly stands and walks up to the nightblood and hugs her. "You're okay," Costia says.

"So are you," Ontari says. "Your arm," Ontari says as she looks at the fake arm.

"Lexa thought I needed a punishment for what I've done," Costia says as she let's her go. "Nia?"

"She ran," Ontari tells her. "What happens next, what is Lexa going to do to you?"

"I don't know," Costia says. "I guess if I work with them, she will give me a second chance," Costia says as she sits down. "I hate her Ontari."

"I know you do," Ontari says as she sits down beside her and lays her hand on Costia shoulder. "But Nia is gone, and someday we will kill her, we have a second chance at life. We should take it, even if that means you have to work with Lexa," Ontari tells her.

"I'll think about it, what is our great Heda doing with you?"

"She is giving me a chance," Ontari tells her. "I'm going to take it, I hope you to."

Clarke's P.O.V

Clarke walks into her room as Lexa goes to speak with the ambassadors. She stops when she sees her mother sitting on her couch. "Sure, invite yourself into my room," Clarke says as she pulls her swords off her back and sets them on the bed.

"Mount weather," Abby says and Clarke looks at her. "Is that why we are alive?"

"How do you know about Mount weather?" Clarke asks. "Of course that isn't the reason you are alive."

"But it is the reason she kept you and your father alive," Abby says. "She is using you."

"Whatever you think you know, you're wrong," Clarke growls. "She is not using me. Everything I have done since I met Lexa, I have been willing to do. Now get the hell out of my room," Clarke growls. Abby glares at her moment before she stands and leaves the room. Clarke watches her leave and then walks to the door. She opens the door. "Nick," Clarke says making the man look at her. "Get me Wells and Murphy, now," She orders him and he nods as he leaves the room.

Wells's P.O.V

Wells and Murphy walk into Clarke's room and looks at the blond as she stood in front of the bed. "What did you two do?" Clarke growls.

"I didn't do anything," Wells says. "Now, Murphy, he did some things," Wells says as he sits down.

"I'm sorry, I didn't trust you and your girl," Murphy says. "So I did my own investigation, worked with Costia and found out about Mount Weather."

"Costia helped you? What did she want?"

"I had Sinclair make her a prosthetic arm," Murphy says. "It all seemed a little to easy, Clarke. Tell me that she was wrong, that the Commander doesn't want us to fight Mount Weather,"

"You're not wrong," Clarke says. "But it wasn't a secret, we had a war to fight, yes Lexa kept us alive so we could convince Skaikru to fight Mount Weather. They are dangerous, they have been killing grounders for decades," Clarke tells them. Clarke sighs as she runs her hands through her hair. "Alright, here is what we are going to do, go get the others, and I'll send Nick to get you when Lexa is done with the ambassadors. Wells, stay a minute," Clarke tells the two teens who nod as Murphy leaves the room. Clarke looks at him. "Did you know he was doing that?"

"Yes," Wells says.

"Wells, I know a lot has changed since the Ark, but I need you to trust me and not let your friend sneaking around the tower," Clarke tells her best friend.

"I do trust you, Clarke, Murphy is trying to keep everybody safe," Wells says. "I am going to go help him," Wells tells Clarke who nods as Wells leaves the room.

Lexa's P.O.V

Lexa sat on her throne talking to the ambassador's. "You have allowed Azgeda to move into Trikru territory?" The Rock clan ambassador asks.

"They are farmers, children and warriors who did not want to fight Nia's war. Indra has allowed this."

"We should wipe them out!" The rock clan ambassador shouts. "They will tear down your work, Heda! We need to wipe Azgeda out!"

Lexa looks at Roan who was glaring at the ambassador. "If you want to kill my clan, you will have to kill me first," Roan says as he stands. The Rock clan ambassador stands and grabs his sword. The door opens and Clarke walks in. She stops when she sees the two men.

"If you two fools don't sit down, I am going to throw you both from this tower," Clarke growls. The two men look at the blond who glares at them. Roan smirks as he nods and walks back to his seat. Clarke then looks at the Rock clan leader who walks back to his seat. Clarke walks up to Lexa. "They know about Mount Weather," Clarke tells her girlfriend.

"Murphy?" Lexa asks Clarke. "He just seems like the type."

"Yes," Clarke answers.

Lexa nods as she looks at the clan leaders. "Azgeda is still under the protection of my Coalition, anybody who attacks them will be attacking me, it will be an act of war," Lexa says firmly as she looks at each clan leader who nods. "Good, now everybody besides Roan, Indra, and Luna, get out," Lexa tells them. After the ambassadors leaves Lexa looks at the others. "It's time we talk to Skaikru."

Octavia's P.O.V

Octavia looks at her door as it opens and Kane and Aurora walk in. She currently had her bandage off. "What happened?" Kane asks as he walks up to her.

"I got distracted," Octavia tells him as he hugs her. "I'm okay."

"We should have Abby look at this," Aurora says as she lays her hand on her daughter's face.

"Clarke is taking care of it and I trust her more than I trust Abby," Octavia tells them softly. "I promise you, I am okay," Octavia tells her parents. "It will heal, I may never be able to see out of that eye again but I'll live and I'll learn to fight with just one eye."

"You're still going to fight?" Kane asks her.

"Yes, Dad. I am still going to fight. Being a warrior, it brings me peace, it feels right," Octavia tells her father. "I won't stop fighting until the day I die and you two need to understand that," Octavia tells them firmly as the door open and and Lincoln walks in.

"Lexa is calling a meeting," He tells them.

"Let's go."

Lexa's P.O.V

Lexa looked at Skaikru as they gathered in the throne room. "First question, how did you find about Mount Weather?" Lexa asks Murphy.

"Costia," Murphy answers. "All she wanted was a fake arm."

"A fake arm?" Lexa asks.

"A prosthetic," Raven answers. "Sinclair make it?" Raven asks Murphy who nods.

"Is Mount Weather the reason you kept Clarke, Raven, Octavia and Jake alive?" Abby asks her.

"At first, yes," Lexa answers as she looks at her girlfriends mother. "Mount Weather has terrorized my people for decades, when Lincoln told me that Jake, Clarke, Octavia, and Raven used the same technology, I saw it as a chance to finally beat them and save my people," Lexa tells them. "Now, I would not force them to fight, nor will I force any of you to fight this war if you do not wish," Lexa says as she looks at each of them. "You are alive because Clarke, Raven, Jake, and Octavia have gained the trust of my people, because they believe that Skaikru can make their lives better, can offer something to our way of life, " Lexa tells them. "I will not force you to fight, but I do ask you to think about it, as long as Mount Weather exists, they will not stop coming after my people and you are now my people, they are our enemy," Lexa tells them.

"Can we beat them?" Jasper asks.

"With the Ark we can, we know that when the prisoners drop, Jaha will probably be with them and on a war path, once we deal with him and the rest of the Ark come to the ground, we will get all of them settled and then offer this to them," Jake tells them.

"What happens if we don't fight?" Monty asks.

"Once you have learned the way of our people, you will have a decision to make, join Skaikru village or go your own way, you are not prisoners, you are free to choose, though helping defeat Mount Weather would gain your people a lot of respect amount our people, securing you a place in our Coalition," Lexa tells them. "Take some time to think about what you want," Lexa tells them. "Regardless of your choice, you will not be harmed," Lexa says before she leaves the room followed by Clarke.

Nia's P.O.V

Nia was walked through Mount Weather with a bag over her head. She hears a door open as she is led into a room. The bag is pulled off her head and she sees a man. "Hi, my name is Dante Wallace and I am the leader of Mount Weather."

Thanks for reading. Next chapter Nia will talk with Dante, Skaikru will decide what they want and Jaha talks with Charles. So got some explaining to do, it has been months since I have posted on this stories and it is not because I was done. As some of you may know. I lost my father last April, After he passed, I used my writing to escape my grief, and it worked, for a little while and then it didn't and I got depressed and now. I'm trying to do better, so with that being said, I am back. Because I love writing and I never want to stop. I have a couple of chapters ready and we'll go back Tuesday and Friday for uploads.
