Chapter 35-May we meet again

Clarke's P.O.V

Clarke vision was blurry as she slowly opened her eyes. She could see fire as she slowly looked around and could feel blood pouring from the top of her head. "Mom?" Clarke says as she looks around. She stops when she sees her Mom on her side laying on the ground. "Mom!" Clarke cries out as she slowly crawls over to her mother. She grabs her shoulder and turns Abby over. Clarke gasps as she looks at her mother. Her face was burnt and there was a piece of metal sticking out of her stomach. She was still breathing as she opened her eyes and looks at her daughter. "I'm here, Mom," Clarke says as she grabs her mother's hand and tears slide down her face. "I'm right here," Abby grips her daughter's hand. "I don't hate you, Mom. I love you so much and I'm going to be okay, Dad's going to be okay. You...you don't have to hold on for us," Clarke says. Clarke grips her hand. "In peace may you leave this shore, in love may you find the next, safe passage on your travels, until our finale journey to the ground. May we meet again," Clarke says as her mother stops breathing. "Mom? Mom?" Clarke lets out a sob as she lays her head on her mother's chest and cries.

Costia's P.O.V

Costia rides into the Skaikru village and jumps off her horse. She sees Clarke. "Clarke!" Costia shouts as she runs up to the blond. She stops a couple of feet behind Clarke as she sees Abby. Costia slowly walks up to Clarke and lays her on Clarke's shoulder making the blond look at her. "I'm sorry."

"She's gone," Clarke says.

"I know, we can't save her, Clarke. But the others might still be alive, we have to find them," Costia says. "Lexa and your Dad might still be alive."

Clarke nods as she slowly stands up. "I thought you left."

"I saw the fire," Costia says. "Come on."

Lexa's P.O.V

Lexa opens her eyes as Octavia and Jake push a piece of wood off her. "Lexa," Jake says as he helps the Commander up.

"What happened?" Lexa asks.

"A missile I think," Jake says. "I was walking with Octavia when it hit, we saw you."

"Clarke, where is Clarke?" Lexa asks.

"I don't know," Jake says as he looks around. "Murphy, Wells, Raven, and Luna are trapped in one of the houses, we have to help them. If Clarke is alive, she'll find us," Jake tells her. Lexa nods as she slowly stands up, her legs buckle under her and Jake grabs her. "Slowly, Lexa."

Lexa nods as she slowly stands up and Jake leads her to the house where Wells, Raven, Murphy, and Luna were. "Wells?" Octavia asks.

"We're here," Wells says. "The back of the house collapsed. Raven's leg is hurt, Murphy's got a piece of wood in his side."

"I'm fine," Murphy says. "Just get us the hell out of here."

"We're going to," Jake says as they start to move the wood.

Harper's P.O.V

Harper and Jasper push a piece of wood out of the way and see the fire outside. "We're out guys, come on," Jasper says as Miller and Monty climb out. "Where's Emori?"

"She won't leave, Otan," Monty says.

"Get out, I'll get her," Harper says as she goes back into the house and up to Emori who sat by her brother's dead body. A piece of wood had fallen onto him crushing him. "Emori, we have to go."

"I won't leave him."

"If you don't, you'll die too, you know he wouldn't want that. He'd want you to live," Harper says as she grabs her arm. "Come on, Emori. If you die here, his death will be in vain."

Emori wipes the tears from her eyes as she nods and follows Harper out of the house that collapses moments later. "Harper," Costia says making the blond look at her.

"Costia," Harper says as Costia walks up to her and hugs her. Jasper looks at Clarke.

"Clarke, you're bleeding."

"I'm fine," Clarke says. "Have you seen my Dad or Lexa?"

"No," Miller says. "Have you seen my Dad?"

"No, we found Wick and Sinclair, they're okay and trying to find others," Costia says. "Come on."

They nod as they follow the two women.

Cage's P.O.V

Cage walked into the room his father was in. "What have you done?"

"I won the war," Cage says. "Before it even started, now when the Ark comes down, we can tell them that the savages killed their children, they'll join us here and willing give us bone marrow so we can help them kill the rest of them."

"That is not the deal we made with Nia," Dante says.

"Come on, Dad. She is means to an end, she is one of them, of course, she doesn't know this, but she'll find out when the time is right. I hate to do this to you Dad but I have to protect our people, you weren't willing to do what needed to be done. I did it, Dad. I have saved our people, now all we have to do is wait and then, you'll finally feel the grass in your feet."

"I didn't want it to happen this way."

"Like I said, you couldn't do what needed to be done," Cage says. "I'll let you out when I think you're ready," Cage says before he leaves the room and his father.

Jake's P.O.V

Jake pulls the last piece of wood away. "Come on," Jake says as Wells helps Murphy out. "Octavia, you need to find Abby and Clarke, go," Jake tells Octavia who nods as she leaves. Jake climbs into the house and sees Luna holding Raven. "We're going to get you out of here."

"I would like that very much, Jake," Raven says as Jake wraps his arms around the girl and helps Luna pick her up. They slowly move through the house until they reach the entrance. They get Raven out and set her down. Jake looks up and sees Octavia coming back with Clarke.

"Monty, Jasper, come with me, we need to find my parents, Bellamy, Anya, Lincoln, David, and Indra," Octavia says to the two teens who nod as they follow her. Lexa runs up to Clarke and hugs her.

"Are you okay?"

"No," Clarke says as she lets go of her girlfriend and looks at Jake. "I couldn't do anything."

"What happened, Clarke, what are you talking about?" Jake asks as he felt his heart drop.

"Her face was so burnt and there...there was a piece of metal. I didn't know what to do, Dad. So I just...I just stayed with her. I couldn't do anything."

"Where is she, Clarke, where's Abby?" Jake says as tears start to go down his face.

"She's dead," Clarke says. "Mom's dead."

Jake watched his daughter as she fell to her knees and sobbed. Jake fell down beside her and wrapped his arms around his daughter.

Octavia's P.O.V

Octavia ran up to her Dad as he helped Anya out of a house with Lincoln. "Dad!" Octavia says making Kane look at her.

"Octavia," Kane says as he sets Anya down and hugs his daughter.

"Mom and Bellamy?"

"They're okay," Kane says as Bellamy and Roan bring out David Miller's body with Ontari and Aurora behind them. "A piece of metal went into his throat."

"We have to get Anya to Clarke," Octavia says as she looks at the grounder commander whose head was bleeding and her side was cut open.

"Alright, we'll get her there."

Costia's P.O.V

Costia watched as Clarke helped Raven and Murphy, Lexa beside her and Jake sat by his ex's wife body. "You came back," Harper says.

"I saw the bomb hit and my first thought was you," Costia says. "I had to made sure you were okay."

"Are you going to leave again?" Harper asks making Costia look at her.

"No, I'm going to stay," Costia says and Harper smiles as she grabs her hand.

Raven's P.O.V

Raven watched Clarke as she looked at her leg. "Clarke?"

"It's broken, Raven," Clarke says. "We'll need to make some kind of cast and you'll need to stay off of it for a while," Clarke says as she looks at her friend. Raven nods as Clarke looks at her father.

"I'm so sorry, Clarke," Raven says making Clarke look back at her.

"I'm going to go check on Murphy," Clarke says and Raven nods as Clarke walks away and she looks at Luna. "Can you help me over to Jake?"

Luna nods as she helps her girlfriend up and over to Jake setting her down beside the man.

"She thought I hated her," Jake says. "She died thinking I hated her."

"She knew that you still cared for her," Raven says as she lays her hand on Jake's shoulder.

"I still loved her," Jake says. "But a part of me hated her, I thought I would have more time to forgive her. I thought..." Jake stops speaking as tears fall down his face. Raven just keeps her hand on his shoulder.

Monty's P.O.V

Monty walks up to Miller as he looked at his father's body. "I'm sorry, Miller," Monty says as he lays his hand on his friend's shoulder.

"I'm going to kill them all Monty," Miller says. "Every single one of them."

"I'm going to help you do that," Monty tells him. "But first we have to grieve and burn our dead and heal, we'll lose if we fight them now."

"I don't have anything left to lose," Miller says.

"You got us to lose," Monty says making Miller look at him. "We're still here and we will avenge the dead."

"Jus drein jus daun," Miller says.

Lexa's P.O.V

Lexa watches as the others build a pyre as the sun begins to rise. "There were two more explostions," Costia says as she walks up beside Lexa making the Commander look at her.

"Where?" Lexa asks.

"Tondc and Polis," Costia says.

"I have to get back," Lexa says.

"Yes you do, but not yet, there is nothing you can do there, Lexa. But here, you can help her," Costia says as she looks at Clarke. "The rest can wait a little bit longer."

Lexa nods.

Clarke's P.O.V

The sun rose into the sky as Clarke and Jake sat Abby's body on a pyre. "May we meet again," Jake says as he kisses the top of her head and Clarke walks over to Lexa who standing in front of everybody with two torches. She handed Clarke one. "I have no words for what has happened," Lexa says. "I can only make you promise, blood will have blood," Lexa says and then looks at Clarke.

"Skaikru has a saying for the dead," Clarke says. "In peace may you leave this shore."

"In love my you find the next," Jake says as others start to join them.

"Safe passage on your travels," Miller says.

"Until our final journey to the ground," Octavia says.

"May we meet again," Clarke finishes.

"May we meet again," The others say as Clarke and Lexa light the pyre on fire. As they watch it burn, Kane looks at Clarke and Lexa.

"Now what?" Kane asks.

"I...I don't know," Lexa says.

Thanks for reading. Let's talk about this chapter because it's big. I have been wrestling with killing Abby for a while now. She is such a big character but it felt like one had to die and Abby felt like the best one. I wanted to show with her death, that their isn't always a goodbye and that anybody can die suddenly, especially in this story as we go into Jaha and Mount Weather.
