Original prompt by sip: Daphne learns to ride a bike. Need I say more than it's just floof?

"Seriously Daph? Never?"

Daphne Greengrass rolled her eyes at her husband. "How many times do I need to tell you, when you have access to a broom at a young age, a bike just seems slow, and mundane, and silly."

She meant for it to sound haughty, but she could tell from Harry's expression that he wasn't buying it. Damn him for knowing her so well and being such a caring and loving husband.

"Well maybe we can have Violet teach you, she's practically a pro now, aren't you sweetie?" Harry said looking to their daughter with an adoration that made Daphne's stomach turn in a pleasant way, like she was a teenager again at Hogwarts and sneaking kisses with Harry in quiet corners.

Their daughter giggled. "Yeah! I can teach you mummy! It's easy!"

Daphne wanted to refuse, but Violet looked at her hopefully and she instantly caved. "Fine, I'll learn to ride a blasted bike."

Harry beamed at her and popped away softly, returning seconds later with a bike, helmet, and elbow and knee pads. Daphne narrowed her eyes.

"I'm not wearing all that."

"Safety first love."

"Yep! Safety first, mummy!" Violet's voice rang out, sweetly and Daphne glared at her husband and his coconspirator who was also clad in protective equipment.

"Fine." She grabbed the pads and put them on, breaking her glare to send Harry a soft smile as he helped to adjust and tighten the pads on her elbows and knees.

"Alright darling." Harry said as she stepped over the bike and took a seat. "Hold onto the handlebars. Those little metal levers are your brakes. Don't pull them too tightly or you might flip over your bars."

Daphne looked at the handlebars uneasily but nodded.

"We'll have you start by practicing keeping your balance and worry about pedaling later. Now reach over and grab onto the handlebars." Daphne did as instructed and felt Harry's large hands grab hold of her firmly around her waist.

"Perfect, put your feet on the pedals, I've got you." Daphne was hesitant, but she trusted Harry with her life, so she lifted her feet and immediately wobbled. Harry held her steady, and they began to move forward at a slow pace.

"Try to keep your balance" He said to her as they rode along with Violet riding alongside them shouting encouragement. She tried to relax and began to pump her legs in circles and the bike began to pick up speed. Harry jogged alongside her still holding her tightly.

"I'm doing it." She said in slight disbelief. "Harry, I'm riding the bike!"

"You are love." Harry said back with a soft chuckle. "Shall I let go?"

Daphne was still high on her newfound success and shouted an affirmative before she could truly think it through. As soon as his hands left her waist, her confidence faltered and soon her balance followed suit. She attempted to grab onto the brakes but that only made matters worse, and before she knew it, she was sprawled on the floor in a heap. The bell on her bike ringing as she crashed.

Her arms and legs hurt, but Harry was at her side instantly, suppressing a chuckle, and after a moment she realized that other than her pride she wasn't too hurt. Still, Violet's concerned voice rang out next to her a moment later.

"Mummy are you okay?"

"Yes dear, mummy is fine." Daphne replied, ignoring the stinging sensation on her forearm.

"But you're bleeding! Daddy, mummy is bleeding! You need to kiss it better!"

Harry kneeled down and took her arm in his hand. Sure enough a small scrape on her forearm had begun to bead with red droplets. Harry pulled his wand out and wordlessly waved it over her arm and instantly the sting began to subside as it began to heal.

Once the spell finished its work Harry lifted her arm to his lips and kissed it gently. He looked at her with smiling eyes and asked, "Was there anywhere else I needed to kiss better?"

Daphne rolled her eyes but internally her love for him swelled. She tapped her finger on her chin as if she were thinking. "My cheek." She said and smiled when Harry kissed her on the cheek. "Not that one, the other one." She told him with mock exasperation, and Harry, the dutiful husband kissed her on the other cheek as well.

"All better now?" He asked and Daphne nodded, causing Violet to cheer.

Harry helped her to her feet and pulled the bike back up. "You up for another go?"

Daphne straightened her helmet and walked purposefully towards the bike. "Do you even need to ask?"
