Kai just escaped the mansion that she lived in, she has been walking for days without a goal or anything to give her a goal. She just wants to give up and call it a day, but there isn't really a place for her to stay and rest if she does so. The sun is setting and she already knows how it goes: find a hole and hide. Kai has been surviving with just suspicious stew recipes she learned, they are like makeshift potions and she never thought that that part of the course would end up being useful.

Kai makes a little hole in the ground and puts a bit of wood on top to protect herself. She can take care of herself, but isn't the best when it comes to surviving in the wild. Sooner or later she will have to learn the hard way or die trying or find a new place to live, if there is one. Her destiny is in the universe's hands.

IIIII

Alex goes on with her mission, nothing to do other than killing mobs and killing mobs. She hasn't been able to find another village for a couple of days, her supplies are far from running low since she left the swamp village. Alex is yet to find out the source for all the creatures appearing every night, how they came to be that way or what their goals are, she knows that she has to end them and protect everyone she can.

Alex finds another enderman, they are easy to spot. The purple glowing eyes are beacons and the black, lanky humanoid shape of the creatures really doesn't help them hide in a natural environment. She goes straight for it. Alex knows that endermen are only hostile after they get attacked, so she makes sure that her first hit makes significant damage.

As usual, the enderman teleports away and starts making that eerie noise they make, maybe it's an intimidation tactic. Alex tries out a new strategy that she developed, she holds her shield up and looks around as much as possible. Endermen keep teleporting around all the time, so it's easy to lose them most of the time. The creature finally stops the teleporting sequence and is now close enough and certain that it will attack, Alex blocks the attack and swings her sword, the enderman teleports away and begins the circle one more time. Alex has survived enough fights with endermen to learn their patterns, but no enderman has survived a fight with Alex for long enough to learn her patterns or share it with others. The battle ends with the human as the victor. The enderman's molecules as it dies and a pearl falls out of the cloud. It's Alex's first pearl, she doesn't know what they're for, so she just puts it away and keeps it as a little trinket.

The sun is far from coming up, so there's really no time to stop and rest now, Alex goes on with her journey.

Kai tries to sleep but gets woken up by the noise of monsters, too many monsters attacking and being attacked. The monsters stop for a while, then more appear and die, there is a female human voice grunting in the middle of the whole mess. Kai tries to look, she gets up and gets the wood out of the way, but that isn't enough. She finally builds up enough courage to get out of the hole completely and take a look at the commotion. After a few seconds shifting through trees trying not to be detected, Kai manages to see what is going on.

She just stands there in awe, watching Alex from behind a tree while she absolutely destroys the creatures with ease. And then an arrow hits the tree, Kai lets out a scream and distracts Alex for a second. She comes out of the trees running and Alex gets ready to attack, before realising that the thing running towards her isn't a monster.

Kai approaches Alex and gets behind her. Alex blocks the next arrow with a shield, shoots back at the skeleton and keeps fighting without missing a beat. Kai watches silently and tries her best to not get in her way.

Al: Alright, let's get out of here. Follow me.

Alex continues her fight and takes the opportunity to start walking away when the creatures give her a break. They both leave the forest and end up in a field. The sun's light can be seen faintly in the horizon, Alex and Kai go north. The amount of monsters is getting lower and the girls can breathe for a bit.

K: Thanks for helping me.

Al: Don't mention it, it's kind of my job.

K: You work killing monsters?

Al: Yeah, I just go around, find villages, kill some bad guys and… Yeah

K: Wow. How much do you get paid?

Al: Uhh, supplies and some shelter sometimes. Any currency is kind of useless for killing these things.

K: Ah, that makes sense. Can you help me find a village?

Al: A specific village, or do you just want to find a random one?

K: Oh, just a random one, I really need somewhere to stay now.

Al: Alright… What's your name?

K: Kai.

Al: Kai, you can come with me, we'll find a village for you.

K: Neat!

Al: We will have to rest well for the journey, so let's find a nice place to sleep first. We will leave by sunset.

K: Sunset?

Al: I work fighting monsters, they only come out when it's dark. My sleep schedule is kind of messed up.

K: Alright, that makes sense. Let's go.

Kai and Alex find a tree and wait for the sun to rise enough for the monsters to disappear to the underground or burn to death. They get comfortable and go to sleep.
