Originally Kurt and Blaine planned to meet on Tuesday after school at Blaines but the oldler had to meet with his manager again after teaching his last class. Fine by Kurt who spends his afternoon in the library, going through Rachels notes from Mr. Andersons class yesterday and copying them.
Instead of meeting they just talk on the phone and agree to just do something after their private lesson tomorrow. What they do is still to decide but they just see what they feel like doing tomorrow.
After class the next day the couple spends half an hour practicing before they decide to get some ice cream, maybe walk around in the park a bit before going over to Blaines. They could watch a movie or a show, they could also listen to music and cuddle. They could even cook dinner together like they wanted to before Kurt has to go home again.
Even if he doesn't always notice himself Kurt is making progress with his breath control and the high notes in the song. In times he doesn't notice Blaine makes sure to tell Kurt that he did well and that he's improving. The song isn't quite fluent yet but there is much less struggle than it used to be when they started these lessons.
Luckily there's no line in front of the ice cream shop so they get their ice cream quickly and sit down at an empty table. It's quite crowded around so Blaine just sits down opposite of his boyfriend and smiles at him, not forcing him to do anything more.
Both almost finished their ice cream when a group approaches them. Kurt would guess the youngest is around 15 and the oldest around his age, maybe a bit younger. At first he doesn't know what the six friends want but it's clear once one of the girls says "Oh my god! I can't believe it! Blaine Anderson! It's really you!".
They all talk at the same time. "I love your music!", "You're so handsome and talented!", "You're my idol!", "I'm your biggest fan!", "Can we take a picture together?", "Can I get an autograph?". Blaine shoots Kurt an apologetic look but smiles and stands up. He takes his time to take photos and give autographs until eventually they all have one or more picture with him and his signature somewhere.
That's when they turn their attention to Kurt. "Are you a friend of Blaine?" one boy asks and the other one adds "Or maybe you're working on some music together with him?". That one is technically not wrong as they were working on Kurts song for his final until half an hour ago. But one of the girls squeels "O.M.G! Maybe he's Blaines boyfriend". They shoot him with curious questions, wanting to know his name, his age, what he is to Blaine and so much more.
Kurt could only look at them, frozen in place. "Okay guys. Enough questions asked. Now we would like to finish our ice cream and since you were only passing by I'm sure you, too, need to get going" Blaine excuses and his fans hug him one more time before leaving.
"I love them but they can be exhausting and too curious. Sorry for the way they interrogated you" the curly haired man apologizes. "It's-" Kurt starts "I should go home. Sorry". With that the younger man stands up and leaves the table, not looking back to his confused boyfriend.
At home Kurt runs to his room and closes the door before he falls on his bed and cries. Rachel and Santana are first surprised, Kurt should've come home much later, but then they go after him. They knock at the door and come in to look after their best friend so he tells "We ran into a group of Blaines fans and they asked me all these questions about who I am and if I am Blaines boyfriend".
Knowing what this collision made with Kurt the girls hug him and give him some space for a while. They cook dinner and once it's ready Santana decides to bring a protion to Kurt while at the same time checking up on him.
When she comes in Kurt puts his book away. He couldn't really distract himself anyway but he tought it was worth trying. "Heard anything from Mr. Popular?" Santana asks and her best friend nods "He asks if I'm okay". "What did you answer?" the latina asks, sitting down on the edge of the bed and putting the tray with food down next to her.
"I said I'm fine" Kurt answers but Santana replies "Which you're clearly not". No he isn't fine. Right now he's far from that. "I think he knows I'm not. It's not the first time I acted strange when people were around. It's just so difficult. I'm trying but I can't help it" Kurt says with a sigh. He's frustrated. "Eat up and get some sleep. If you still don't feel well tomorrow Rachel and I will excuse you for your classes" the young woman says with a comforting smile that not many people know before she stands up and leaves.
Kurt puts some music on and eats. He isn't really hungry so he only eats a few bites before he puts the tray on his desk and lays back down in bed. He almost starts crying when one of Blaines songs starts playing. He can understand why Blaine has fans and why they love him. Everything was fine until they got curious about the mysterious man eating ice cream with Blaine.
Why does it have to be so complicated? Why couldn't he tell Blaine the truth yet? Instead he ran away and pretends he's fine. Why did they have to meet Blaine fans? Why is Kurt the way he is? Why can't he be normal? The young man falls asleep to Blaines voice somewhere around the third song.
As soon as Blaine comes home he texts Kurt, telling him that he's home and asking if Kurt is okay. He also apologizes for his fans again. Of course Kurt answers him that he's fine but Blaine knows that's a lie. He wants to drive over and see after him but decides against it. He should make something for dinner and give Kurt some time.
Once finished he sits down on the couch to eat while watching tv. But he isn't really watching. His thoughts keep spinning. The cheek kiss and the looking around, being reluctant with holding hands and flinching at sudden contact and loud noise. And today he ran away. It all happened at public places. When they weren't alone. When it's just them they are so happy and Kurt is always himself and comfortable. They talk, they touch, they kiss, they cuddle.
Something is up with Kurt. Something happened. He just doesn't know what happened. But Kurt will open up eventually. Right? Because Blaine told himself to wait and go along with it but he has to draw a line somewhere.
Kurt stays at home on Thursday. Santana and Rachel excuse him and promise to let him copy their notes. The young man enjoys the day alone at home. Time to think and to clear his head. He sleeps in and eats breakfast while watching Modern Family. In the noon he calls his dad.
He tells Burt about what happened yesterday and hopes to get some adive. "Looks kiddo. You really like him, I can tell. It's not like you want to break up with him but if you want this relationship to work you gotta talk to him. I know it's a difficult topic for you but you need to go through this. He'll be right by your side, you have the girls and you can always call me" the man says.
The two talk a bit longer and Kurt can feel that the weight on him gets a little lighter and his mood somewhat better.
Mr. Anderson is worried when he walks through the hallways of NYADA, not being able to find his boyfriend. Around lunch he walks into Rachel and Santana but Kurt isn't with them either. "Hey girls. Why isn't Kurt at school today?" he asks and the two friends shoot a look at each other before Rachel answers "He's not feeling well. Maybe he ate something wrong. We're not sure".
It would be a good reason to stay home but Blaine doesn't believe them. He knows Kurt stayed home because of something else. Still he nods "Thanks" and goes outside to get somthing for lunch. On his way he texts Kurt. This is where he has to draw the line. He knows exactly why Kurt isn't at school today.
Blaine: Hey! Santana and Rachel told me you don't feel well. Is tomorrow still on? I could come to you if it makes it easier for you.
Kurt: Yeah I probably ate something wrong but I'm already feeling a bit better. Tomorrow is still on. We go to your place after class.
Blaine: Okay good! Get some more rest and I'll text you later.
Kurt: Will do. See you tomorrow and have a nice lunch break.
Blaine: I will. See you.
He'll play along until tomorrow but he already knows that Kurt knows that Blaine doesn't believe him.
